Ah, well... I still wanted a Third season.

Anyway, it is about Suigintou after all, which is more than enough to be more than great.
Since it would be coming out this winter, it shouldn't be too long of a wait.
I just hope that this OVA would spark more demand for a Third Season. The RM fanbase has certainly grown in the past year...

As for the trailer, the artwork is simply beautiful. Much more detailed than either series in my opinion.

According to the site like Solwy said.., it seems the OVA isn't related to the past 2 seasons.., so it leads me to belive that it clearly is something related to Gin's past (possibily), much like that picture Flo posted from the Manga some weeks ago (as Gin was killing one of her previous masters).

Something arround those ends is probably what we can expect from it.
I myself just hope it to be realy Realy Dark, even darker then ~Traumend~

Well currently it seems, and given the information we have.., to be a Single Episode OVA, or a very small OVA serie.

But the most important thing is, this episode is centered on Suigintou, as she comprises the majority of the characters from the opening scenes.

Coupled with the appearance of Tanaka Rie and the title of the episode, Suigintou fans will have something to look for.

This special episode Rozen Maiden Ouberture is set to air this coming winter.

We can conclude that its definitly NOT a 3rd Season.

The emerald eyes slowly opened; blurs everywhere. She squirmed to readjust her focus, the surrounding become much clearer. Pink walls, dolls and stuffed toys; it looked like home to her but something is not right. The feel wasn’t there, the air felt heavy and eerie. Uneasiness kicked in, she lets out a cry.

“Shinku~… Jun~… Tomoe~!”

No answer, she called again, still no answer. She panicked as she ran around, looking for and exit.

“Shinku~! Jun~! Tomoe! Suiseiseki~! Kanaria~!”

Everywhere she goes she was blocked by walls. Trapped like a rat, this isn’t her home at all; her cries for help became louder, unaware that a pair of eye are stalking her every move. The stalker felt that it’s time to calm her plaything.

???: “Don’t be afraid.”

She stopped and turned to the direction of the voice behind her, there stood a doll.

Kirakishou: “I’ve been waiting for your awaking.”

Barasuishou? No, She looked much different, there was a strange feeling of closeness in her, yet a total stranger. Is she to be trusted? Hina Ichigo cautiously appoarch her.

Hina Ichigo: “W-who are you ~nano?”

Kirakishou: “Me? I’m the 7th, the youngest of the Rozen Maiden, Kirakishou. It is nice to meet you, Hina onee-sama.”

The 7th? If she remember correctly, Barasuishou claimed that she’s the 7th, be turned out that she’s a fake created by her father’s apprentice. And her voice was chillingly cold, even with that smile which is equally frightening.

Kirakishou: “Please not to worry” *Walk towards Hina Ichigo* “I just come to play house with you. You’ll be the husband, and I’ll be the loving wife.” *Smiles widened psychotically*

Like hell she just wanted to play, Hina stepped backwards away from the scary doll. But every time she walked back, her legs felt like lead while the scary doll are getting closer to her. In an instant, Kirakishou is finally face to face with Hina Ichigo.

Kirakishou: “Good morning my dear. Would you like a morning kiss?”

Hina Ichigo: “No! Go away ~na…!

Before Hina could finish her sentence, Kirakishou moved her face forward and the lips made contact then retracted. Kirakishou’s lip were cold, it’s almost like freezing temperature. Immediately Hina felt a sharp pain in her hand and noticed that vines are growing from her hand. Instantaneously vines started to grow all over Hina Ichigo, causing unbearable pain that she rolled over the floor crying in pain.

Hina Ichigo: “ARRGGH! IT...URT…S! WH…DID…Y….DO ~NA…AHHHHHHH!!!”

Kirakishou watched the suffering doll and shivered in ecstasy, the cries of pain and torment brings music to her ears. Hina took a last look at that doll, the sick look of her face softened and warmly smiled at her; breakfast is ready.

Kirakishou: “Breakfast is ready, itadakimasu.”

Meanwhile, Enju and Shirosaki could hear screams followed by sounds of crushing porcelain and crewing. The screams slowly died down but the crushing porcelain can still be heard.

Enju: *Disgusted* “To think Rozen would create such a vulgar and barbaric monster.” *Hmph* “I guest this is another reason why he must be stopped.”

Shirosaki: “Maybe you should retreat before the same fate happens to you.”

Enju: *Glares at the human form of the Lapace’s Demon* “May I remind you that you and that little bitch of yours are my hostage. That I can kill you easily with a flick of my wrist. I’m sure she will feel the same pain as the child should anything happens to you.”

Shirosaki: *Smiles* “Oh I can assure you, my death means nothing to her as I am not her master.” *Shrug* “On the other hand, I’m afraid of pain so I’ll take back what I said to you just now, please accept my apology.”

The crushing noise finally stopped and everything fell into silence.

Shirosaki: *smiles as he adjusting his glasses* (All goes well, I hope.)

The feet were all that’s left in front of Kirakishou; a pink glow was swirling hysterically as if it was driven mad by the horror that happened. Berrybell’s mistress Hina Ichigo was no more.

Kirakishou: “You must be her Artificial Spirit.”

Berrybell threw itself at Kirakishou, who easily dodged. The spirit continued to attack the doll until she began to speak.

Kirakishou: “There is something I did like you to do, would you kindly do it for me?”

Berrybell stopped its frenzy and then disappeared along with Hina’s remains.

“Why are you here? Did you come to see how pathetic I am now?”

Bitterness entered the Mr. Kakizaki’s ears. He stood still with his head down.

Mr. Kakizaki: “Megu…”

Megu: *Looks out the window* “You must be surprised that I’m still not dead yet.”

Nurse: “Megu-chan how could you say that? Your father would never wish for that.”

Megu: *Snapped back at the nurse* “Shut up! Who is the one that is responsible for what I am now?” *Glares at her father* “Why brought me to this world while all I feel is misery and suffering. What have I done to deserve this papa? Why did you and mama made me suffer?”

Nurse: “Megu-chan…”

Megu: “Papa is nothing but a coward! I hate you! I wish you fucking rot in hell!” *Picks up a book and threw it at her father* “Get out! I don’t want to see you! I hate you!”

Mr. Kakizaki looked at her with a sad face and offered no resistance as his daughter threw things at him. Yeah, maybe he should go to hell he thought.

Nurse: *Offended by Megu’s attitude on her father “Kakizaki Megu! How dare you use that tone on your father!”

Mr. Kakizaki: “It’s alright nurse, I deserve every bit of it. Please, let’s leave for now”

Nurse: “Kakizaki-san…”

With that the two adults turned away and head to the door. Megu watched as the two left her alone, all her frustrations and angst left her. She felt that a weight was lifted from her body; she then realized what she had done. She broke into tears and cried her heart out before crying herself to sleep. While all this time Suigintou was hiding outside, listened to everything. She never took a peek at Megu after she slept and just quietly sat there, thinking.

Nurse: “Kakizaki-san. I’m terribly sorry for what happened just now.”

Mr. Kakizaki: “It’s alright. I should be the one that should apologize for letting you witness this ugly scene. I hope you’ll forgive my daughter.”

Nurse: “Kakizaki-san…”

Mr. Kakizaki: “Please watch over her for me.”

Nurse: “Don’t worry, she’s in good hands.”

Mr. Kakizaki: “Thank you.”

Megu’s father bowed to the nurse before he left. The nurse heads to the reception area, where she found a bouquet of white roses, with a name card written ‘To Megu’. The nurse sighed, thinking she had to enter the ‘hell hole’ again but she brings the bouquet regardless. She knocked once before entering and noticed the Megu was asleep. The nurse carefully not to step on the stuff Megu threw previously and places the roses on top of the drawer beside the bed before leaving quietly.

With nobody else in the ward, Kirakishou appeared in the mirrior looking at the rose bouquet.

Kirakishou: “Hope you like my present for you. Fufufu…”

The doll fades away and suddenly the additional writings appeared on the card.

I like chapter 5 because Kira's in it! As for her killing Hina, I was pretty much emotionless when I read that part.

Its "dark" as in Phsycologicaly heavy...

Torned, tormented, depressive, antagonistic and overall emotional complexed are all aspects that Gin's personality englobes..
Thus giving her contribution to the storyline as a character with these aspects.., its natural that the outcome of such tends to follow a more "darker" pathway.

However to Kira herself many of the previous aspects can be attributed, there is no discounting that..., in fact.., its because of them and a +plus that is Kira's insanity that I, and I belive most would expect that a Season 3 would definitly be alot more heavy then ~Traumend~ was.

Still this is not Season 3 but an OVA and about Gin.., and since she as a character portrays all of those aspects.., its natural that we expect that the storyline of it to be extreamly heavy aswell.

What mostely diferenciates Gin from Kira is Gin's depressive aspect from Kira's Insanity.

For as we all know.. Gin acted the way she did for she felt that Father would not love her on the count of her "flaws / imperfections" as a doll..., and that the only way to obtain his love was to become Alice, thus becoming perfect.
All for him.., for she loved him above all; something.. that makes Gin's story the so sad and depressive it is as we know it.

And Kira well..., her devotion to Father reaches out to a point of insanity, which naturaly is much diferent then Gin's.., Kira views becoming Alice above all.., just for Father and for the sake of becoming Perfect, or as Perfect as she sees it.., nothing else.

Because Kirakishou was the last doll awakened (right after the final battle with Barasuishou in the anime).... You can't deal with her past if she doesn't have one.
And yes, as said before Kira is not dark like Gin, she's insane and enjoy being like that. There's nothing interesting with dealing with such characters even if I use to like such "insane vilainous" (Maestro Delphiiiiiiiinneeeeeeeee !!! Be my wife ! :love: )

It's up to your imagination, since the scene switched to Enju and Lapace when Kirakishou was just about to eat it so anything is possible.

Unfortunatly no specific date has been set yet, as far as I know.., and according to eggplant's post and other reports.., its only said that it will be released later this year on winter.

So hopefully.. November, December ?.., I just pray that the production doesn't get delayed or complications arise and the OVA ends up beeing pushed for 2007's Januray / February..

Its been only a few days since the announcement and I am already struggling with the wait :p

This requires some medicine :heh: , Solwy.., how's the Gin wall coming ? ;)

Err, not sure if anyone can answer this but, in the anime, you think it's possible to revive Hina Ichigo and Souseiseki?

@ The Undertaker : I belive and I think most will agree when I say that yes.., there is a possibility that they both can be revived IF a Maestro, such as Jun or someone with the somewhat same potential.. is able to get hold of they're missing Rosa Mysticae.

I say this because.., despite Shinku having told in Season 1 that when a doll becomes destroyed, her soul wonders far far away and is unable to return.., Jun with his skills was still able to "repair" the Clown doll (also in Season 1).., thus restoring his soul aswell.

So we can then conclude that a extreamly gifted Maestro such as Jun for example is able to repair any doll and restoring her soul.., even for the Rozen Maiden.., for Jun also was able to repair Shinku's arm.

However.. without the Rosa Mystica.., there is nothing that Jun can do.., nor do I even belive Rozen himself..

If Sousei Seki and Hina will ever be able to obtain they're Rosa Mysticae back..., well.., I guess that can only be answered for sure in a third Season ;)
Altough we could end up catching some information regarding this aspect and / or many others in the up-coming OVA..

However.., I highly doubt this because.. as mencioned before; despite beeing centered on Gin.., it is a prelude of Rozen Maiden's 1st Season.

You know thats what I suspect the S3 is going to be all about... Jun becoming a maestro and more importantly Shinku realising that she has to choose between sisters.

So the Shinku path has been, S1 she kicks arse, S2 she still kicks arse, but doesn't want to and tries avoids it. S3 she wants to avoid kicking arse, but now she has to hunt down Kira and hand out some arse kicking to recover Hina and Sou's Rosa Mystica....

I really do hope they come back early on in the series, if not then a spin-off series of "Hina and Sou's adventures with no bodies"... Hang on, Kira has their Rosa Mysticas doesn't she.... :upset:

@Flo - I have to apologise to everyone as I have not been following anyone ones fan- fics, the last one you did was the first one I read and it was really good, so I have been converted and will go back and read the rest :). I still am in shock over the mental images that you have WTF'ed into my head in regard to Hina's demise.... Gah images generated by imagination when reading text can be so much more powerful...

Preliminary Note: I’m going to assume some of Kirakishou’s powers. Please bear with me. You may have already deduced this, but I’m trying to meld the anime and manga universes together, along with my own spice of course. I had to borrow a scene or two from the anime, so forgive me.

Sixth Thorn: Chess Pawns

Tsugumi sat down in the grass outside the building. The sprawling university campus before him was completely devoid of other students. The overcast skies let the filtered sunlight reach the ground, but just barely. It made everything appear to be almost greyscale. He picked a book out of his bookbag. ‘The Legend of Rozen’s Dolls.’ was the title. Surely, it was not a part of a normal curriculum. He set the book down.

“I must be dreaming,” Tsugumi stated to no one in particular. He had dreamed of attending this particular university many times before. He had even visited the campus after passing the acceptance exams. The young man put his hands behind his head and laid back. A gust of wind blew the pages of the open book, eventually landing on a chapter entitled ‘The Lost Seventh.’

“Hey, isn’t that Kashiwaba-senpai?” Tsugumi suddenly sat straight up again, but there was no one around.

“Who’s there?” he called nervously, jumping to his feet. No one had called him that since…

“Yes, it must be. His nose was buried in some book again,” another voice stated. The sources of the voices were standing, human-sized blocks of text. Upon further examination, they were the names of popular vacation spots. Tsugumi slowly began to remember the voices… the voices of his high school classmates.

“He’s unbelievably anti-social. I heard his parents refused to pay for his tuition, even though they just spent so much on a cruise in the Mediterranean. If I were him, I’d be getting some kind of job.”

“Yea, but it’s his own fault. He never filled out for any scholarships, remember?”

“That moron doesn’t even have any idea what he plans to do with his life. He just wanted to attend university because he was accepted. How can someone so smart be so stupid? If good grades came so effortless for me, you know I would have been doing something in the meantime to ensure my future! What an idiot, not planning ahead like that!”

“Everyone shut up!” Tsugumi yelled, clenching his hands into fists. The piles of letters all faded into the background. “What the hell is going on?!” A huge piece of paper was blown in front of him by another gust of wind. He leaned forward and read it. “My acceptance letter?”

“Kashiwaba-san, we look forward to having you at our university! Your academic records and community service have been wonderful!” Tsugumi recognized the voice as the Dean of Students’.

“I told you… I don’t have the money to…”

“Oh? But according to your financial reports, your parents have more than sufficient money-“

“I don’t have any parents! They…” he trailed off. He buried his face in his palms.

“We put our wishes ahead of yours?” his mother’s voice asked smoothly. “It’s our money that we work hard for. We can use it as we please! Don’t be such a stubborn, useless child! So what if you got good grades? You should have gotten a part-time job, and then you would have money to attend college!”

“Shut up! All those years… you told me to get good grades…”

“And if they came so easily for you, then it shouldn’t have been a problem for you to pick up a job,” his father’s voice added sternly. “Maybe then we would have helped in the cost of tuition.”

“But… I did my best…” His parents disappeared, an image of his sister appearing next. “Tomo-nee?” He slowly stood to face her.

“Why do you cause us so much trouble? I’m glad you left the house.”

“What? You are…? Tomo-nee?”

“Don’t call me that. You are no longer my brother.” Tsugumi’s eyes widened.

“I’ve had enough of this!” Tsugumi realized that, although this must be a dream, how does one prompt one’s self to awaken? And since when does the dreamer realize that he is in a dream?

“You are a lazy and unsightly part of my life that I want to forget. When you run out of money, you can just become a vagrant for all I care. You couldn’t even open your heart to your own family. Did you expect to live your life alone? Did you really think a helpless person like you could go on without relying on anybody?”

“Is this… really how you feel?” Megu faded into sight at Tomoe’s left.
“Did you get some kind of sick satisfaction by coming to visit a dying person? Your heart is what’s dying!” Sakurada Jun appeared to Tomoe’s left.

“You make me sick. Playing such mind games, when you really can’t even control yourself,” Jun spat. His doll, Shinku, then appeared.

“As a Medium you rate very poorly. In fact I wouldn’t hesitate to call you worthless.”

“Quiet… you don’t even know me…” Suigintou appeared on Megu’s right side.

“Did you really think there was any kind of connection between us? I was just using you for your power, but you don’t even have any to give. Did you really believe you could fix me? You’re… what I would refer to as… junk.”

“I… I am junk…?” Tsugumi unconsciously rubbed his right leg before falling on his behind, eventually curling up into the fetal position on the ground. His eyes slowly began to unfocus. “I’m useless… to everyone… If I’m such a burden, what’s the point… of continuing…?”

On the roof of a nearby building, Kirakishou stood on the edge. A wide smile was painted across her pale face. “Soon you’ll break… little human. Then onee-sama will see me… then she’ll appreciate me… Ahaha… And then I’ll…” The laughter which followed fell upon Tsugumi’s ears, but he didn’t even hear it.

In his bedroom back in the real world, the rose vines which had entangled him began growing thorns. They pressed into his body, tearing his skin, causing blood to drip down his skin and onto his bed. He was beginning to break.

…

At that exact same moment, Suigintou felt a strange sensation. She first thought of Tsugumi, but upon examination of her ring she decided that wasn’t the case. It was glowing very faintly, just as it had over the past few days. It represented the bond between them, and it was weakening. ‘That idiot. If I lose him as my Medium, nothing will change. I can go on without that power, just like before,’ she lied to herself. In actuality the days since she had taken the Gardeners’ artificial spirits had been her most difficult in as long as she could remember, though she felt no reason to delve deeper and try to rationalize such feelings.

She found the nearest window and entered her n-Field.

As soon as she did, her misgivings grew. Something was very wrong. Suigintou flew over the city which comprised her personal world, heading towards an odd light in the distance. Within a couple minutes, as the strange sensation grew, she reached a street which was overgrown with purple crystals. “What is this? The irregularity which has been bothering me…?” she asked, becoming suspicious. Could one of the two other Sisters have done this?

Out of nowhere, a huge crystal pierced towards Suigintou. Flipping through the air, she dodged it easily enough, but the second one was a little harder to avoid. “Who’s there?!” she yelled angrily.

“Who’s there?” a bland yet breathy voice responded from the distance.

“Show yourself!”

“Show… yourself…” Suigintou’s eyes narrowed. In the distance a light suddenly twinkled. A doll was revealed. The doll had white hair and a pale lavender dress which clung closely to her body and ended at her knees-high boots. Her right eye was covered by some kind of eye patch.

“Eh?! You are?!” Suigintou asked cautiously.

“Bara… suishou… The seventh doll of the Rozen Maiden,” the unfamiliar doll responded coldly.

“Seventh?” Several spires shot out from beneath Suigintou, then another set and another. They were easily dodged; this one must have just awakened if her power was so weak… “Enough of this. Play time is over!” She rushed towards Barasuishou, but a huge crystal seemed to grow directly out of the doll and sped towards Suigintou at incredible speed.

She folded her black wings around her body, successfully blocking the attack. Next it was her turn… Countless black feathers raced towards Barasuishou, but she effortlessly created an energy field to block them all. “You certainly are a pretentious little sister,” Suigintou growled. She unconsciously began to draw in more power, her Medium’s power. However… there was no response.

Suigintou drew a quick breath in shock. ‘He won’t give me any power? There’s no way the bond could be so weak… Something else is going on here.’ The feathers continued to bounce harmlessly off of Barasuishou’s shield until she swept them away in a gust of her power.

“You’re… so weak.”

“What?!” ‘Tsugumi… what the hell is going on?!’

She continued to dodge the blasts of crystals as she flew towards the church- only there would she be able to see what was going on with her Medium. Unexpectedly, as she was avoiding an attack from below, a barrier of crystal sprung up from the ground, catching Suigintou off guard. One of them grazed her arm, sending her spiraling to the ground. She cried out in pain as she slammed into the ground. A blast of many smaller crystals pierced into her clothing and body before she was able to pull her wings into a protective shell.

“Pathetic.” Barasuishou ceased her attack at once.

“You little…” The power inside her was decreasing at a rapid rate. There was no way she would be able to escape from this opponent, and without being able to draw more energy from her Medium... Barasuishou slowly lowered herself to the ground, mere meters in front of Suigintou. She held out a hand, summoning a crystal sword.

“I… expected more from you…” She drew the sword up. Her swing would surely be the last thing Suigintou ever saw. Barasuishou’s eyes widened, however, when she discovered that she was unable to move the sword at all. She looked over her shoulder. Most unexpectedly, it was Laplace’s Demon who was holding the weapon so steadfastly.

“Barasuishou, you are in danger,” he said grimly, confusing the doll. A slit in the n-Field appeared under her, pulling her out of the realm before sealing itself once more. The tuxedo-wearing rabbit then turned to a shocked Suigintou. “Jade Dream and Lempicka, they are not alone in their manipulations. The reason for your bond breaking… The truth and the lie, you will see both on this day. Which is which- that will be your decision to make.”

“You make as little sense as ever,” Suigintou grunted as she stood. He bowed deeply and disappeared into the darkness. Suigintou gave his words little thought. She grabbed her lacey headband off the ground and flew once more towards the church.

…

At the Sakurada household, Shinku’s case suddenly burst open to reveal its owner, wide-eyed and panting. The cases of Suiseiseki and Hina-ichigo subsequently opened, albeit those dolls were not so awake. “Shinku, what’s going on ~desu?” Suiseiseki asked in an unusually quiet voice.

“So sleepy…” Hina-ichigo yawned, rubbing her eyes. “Shinku? What’s wrong ~na no?” Shinku clasped her hands at her heart, quickly regaining control of her breathing. Just as she seemed to be ready to give an explanation, Jun quickly sat up from his slumber.

“Tsugumi-san!” he yelled, still caught half-way between being asleep and awake. Suiseiseki and Hina-ichigo were now very confused, but Shinku knew it was a validation. “Shinku, you too?” Jun asked after he caught his breath. Shinku’s eyes widened for a split-second; she was surprised at how easily Jun could read her emotions these days.

“Yes. All of you must get ready. We’re diving into the n-Field,” Shinku stated firmly as she stood. She immediately summoned Holie before closing her case and leaving Jun’s room. The two remaining dolls watched in a state of awe as Jun pulled his sweater on.

“You dolls- what are you waiting for?”

“What’s going on, chibi human?” Suiseiseki asked as he rushed out of the room without even giving an answer. She frowned and put her hands on her hips. “Honestly, ~desu, that rude human needs to learn some manners! Well? Hina-ichigo, we should follow them. There’s no telling what kind of trouble they’ll get into if we’re not there to check up on them.”

“B-b-but… Um… They are both so nervous… Is something bad going to happen to Suigintou’s Medium?” Hina-ichigo asked innocently. Suiseiseki looked back over her shoulder at the shorter doll.

“I… Maybe. But if we don’t go, Shinku might be in trouble, too.”

…

Back in Suigintou’s n-Field, the dolls and Jun warped in as usual. Jun actually did manage to land on his feet this time, though. Shinku took off and began flying through the air, followed quickly by Jun, Hina and Suiseiseki. “This is further proof that something is very wrong,” Shinku explained. “Usually Suigintou would not allow anyone to fly here except herself.”

“Plus the mirror city isn’t there anymore,” Jun noticed. Above them was a normal, albeit cloudy, sky.

“Probably her Medium’s influence. He was able to brighten her life…”

“Has something happened to that scary human?” Suiseiseki asked timidly. “Did… did Suigintou…” Suiseiseki imagined a grinning Suigintou standing above a blindfolded Tsugumi, holding a huge scythe over his head like some kind of Grim Reaper.

“No,” Shinku strongly disagreed. “This sensation I’ve been feeling… Both of them are experiencing terror, albeit in different ways.”

“Shinku, where are we headed?” Jun asked after some time.

“This field is patterned after the city where we last fought. If I know her, she’s probably made herself a home at the old church,” explained the leading doll. “It should be just over here.”

The three dolls and their human companion landed in front of the church shortly afterward. Shinku pushed open the church’s creaky doors. Jun was amazed by the stunning scenery inside, especially compared to the dark and drab look Suigintou’s world had in the past. While he was gawking, Shinku’s eyes quickly sought out and found Suigintou. She stood unsteadily on the altar, looking through countless shards of glass which surrounded her.

The first Sister’s clothes were tattered, her headband noticeably absent. Her hands flew quickly through the air, as if she was searching through the fragments for something. Shinku realized that the fragments were glimpses into the real world and n-Fields. Suigintou didn’t even realize as the group approached her.

“Suigintou, what has happened to you?” Shinku asked daringly. No response came. “Suigintou? What are you searching for?”

“I thought you might come eventually,” she finally stated in a low voice, not looking away from her work. Jun realized that her wings looked much smaller than thinner than usual, perhaps a sign of battle. “The Seventh is awake.” They all took the information in stride; the outcome of the battle was obvious. “I can’t find him.” Her voice seemed almost… desperate?

“Who?” Jun asked. “Tsugumi-san?” She didn’t respond again.

“Have you checked his dream world? I thought I may have felt a dream door being opened, but it didn’t feel like Jade Dream or Lempicka,” Suiseiseki said, trying to be helpful even though she was standing a good deal further away from the altar than the others.

“There was some kind of interference,” Suigintou stated.

“No way ~desu, let me see my Jade Dream! I’ll get through whatever ‘interference’ you had ~desu!” Suiseiseki crossed her arms and turned around. There was no way Suigintou would ever willingly turn the artificial spirits over.

“Here.” Suiseiseki slowly turned around, scared of what might be waiting for her. Suigintou had pushed aside the mirror fragments. She held out her hand toward Suiseiseki, holding Jade Dream. Her face was sullen, but she didn’t seem to mind giving up what she had stolen not so long ago. “I’m doing this in a moment of weakness,” she pronounced. “Too much is going on for me to worry about defeating weak dolls like you. Take your artificial spirit back and use it to open Tsugumi’s dream.” She turned to the others. “I won’t ask you to help me, but…” She held up her left hand; her rose ring was beginning to crack.

“Something is happening to that Medium. Someone has trapped him inside his own dream. He is breaking, even now as we speak.” Her voice was low and deadly. Her other hand was shaking, tightly hanging on to her headband. “You there, Suiseiseki!” Jade Dream suddenly jumped from Suigintou’s hand and flew towards its old master. “Open the dream door, now!”

“Jade Dream!” she called, a small sense of relief in her voice. The spirit circled over and over until his dream door was opened. Suiseiseki suddenly groaned. “You’re right… There was some kind of barrier around his dream ~desu. But it was easily overcome by my experience. Ohohoho!” Suigintou gave Shinku one last pained glance before jumping into the dream world.

“Shinku!” cried Sakurada.

“Right! Everyone, let’s go!” One by one, they all dove into the dream door. In the back of the church, Laplace’s Demon stepped out of the shadows. His hands were clasped behind his back.

‘You’ll even help her after all these years of hostility? Or perhaps... Rozen's greatest wish will come true,’ he mused before disappearing.

In the Victorian mansion which resided in the n-Field he’d constructed, Enju sat in his rocking chair. Frustration and anger were written all over his face as Laplace’s Demon approached him. “Demon… how could this have happened?”

“From the beginning I told you there was a slight possibility,” the rabbit responded.

“This is a disaster,” the blond man growled. “All of my plans are in ruins. Hardly any part is salvageable. All these years have passed, Barasuishou is finally complete… I cannot wait any longer! If the true seventh doll is awake, then my Barasuishou will defeat it as well! All of that fool Rozen’s creations will fall at her feet! What’s one more Rosa Mystica?”

“Enju. Keep Barasuishou away from Kirakishou. If the two of them meet right now, your doll would surely be destroyed. Then the true seventh would be freed of her prison and escape to the real world.” The blond man sneered. He had no intention of listening to this apparition.

For just a moment, his mind wandered to that rogue Medium who had entered his shop. There was something about that young man that bothered Enju very much. There was just something undefinably wrong with the way he presented himself, and that was on of the things Enju hated the most.

Preliminary Note: I’m going to assume some of Kirakishou’s powers. Please bear with me. You may have already deduced this, but I’m trying to meld the anime and manga universes together, along with my own spice of course. I had to borrow a scene or two from the anime, so forgive me.

Sixth Thorn: Chess Pawns

Tsugumi sat down in the grass outside the building. The sprawling university campus before him was completely devoid of other students. The overcast skies let the filtered sunlight reach the ground, but just barely. It made everything appear to be almost greyscale. He picked a book out of his bookbag. ‘The Legend of Rozen’s Dolls.’ was the title. Surely, it was not a part of a normal curriculum. He set the book down.

“I must be dreaming,” Tsugumi stated to no one in particular. He had dreamed of attending this particular university many times before. He had even visited the campus after passing the acceptance exams. The young man put his hands behind his head and laid back. A gust of wind blew the pages of the open book, eventually landing on a chapter entitled ‘The Lost Seventh.’

“Hey, isn’t that Kashiwaba-senpai?” Tsugumi suddenly sat straight up again, but there was no one around.

“Who’s there?” he called nervously, jumping to his feet. No one had called him that since…

“Yes, it must be. His nose was buried in some book again,” another voice stated. The sources of the voices were standing, human-sized blocks of text. Upon further examination, they were the names of popular vacation spots. Tsugumi slowly began to remember the voices… the voices of his high school classmates.

“He’s unbelievably anti-social. I heard his parents refused to pay for his tuition, even though they just spent so much on a cruise in the Mediterranean. If I were him, I’d be getting some kind of job.”

“Yea, but it’s his own fault. He never filled out for any scholarships, remember?”

“That moron doesn’t even have any idea what he plans to do with his life. He just wanted to attend university because he was accepted. How can someone so smart be so stupid? If good grades came so effortless for me, you know I would have been doing something in the meantime to ensure my future! What an idiot, not planning ahead like that!”

“Everyone shut up!” Tsugumi yelled, clenching his hands into fists. The piles of letters all faded into the background. “What the hell is going on?!” A huge piece of paper was blown in front of him by another gust of wind. He leaned forward and read it. “My acceptance letter?”

“Kashiwaba-san, we look forward to having you at our university! Your academic records and community service have been wonderful!” Tsugumi recognized the voice as the Dean of Students’.

“I told you… I don’t have the money to…”

“Oh? But according to your financial reports, your parents have more than sufficient money-“

“I don’t have any parents! They…” he trailed off. He buried his face in his palms.

“We put our wishes ahead of yours?” his mother’s voice asked smoothly. “It’s our money that we work hard for. We can use it as we please! Don’t be such a stubborn, useless child! So what if you got good grades? You should have gotten a part-time job, and then you would have money to attend college!”

“Shut up! All those years… you told me to get good grades…”

“And if they came so easily for you, then it shouldn’t have been a problem for you to pick up a job,” his father’s voice added sternly. “Maybe then we would have helped in the cost of tuition.”

“But… I did my best…” His parents disappeared, an image of his sister appearing next. “Tomo-nee?” He slowly stood to face her.

“Why do you cause us so much trouble? I’m glad you left the house.”

“What? You are…? Tomo-nee?”

“Don’t call me that. You are no longer my brother.” Tsugumi’s eyes widened.

“I’ve had enough of this!” Tsugumi realized that, although this must be a dream, how does one prompt one’s self to awaken? And since when does the dreamer realize that he is in a dream?

“You are a lazy and unsightly part of my life that I want to forget. When you run out of money, you can just become a vagrant for all I care. You couldn’t even open your heart to your own family. Did you expect to live your life alone? Did you really think a helpless person like you could go on without relying on anybody?”

“Is this… really how you feel?” Megu faded into sight at Tomoe’s left.
“Did you get some kind of sick satisfaction by coming to visit a dying person? Your heart is what’s dying!” Sakurada Jun appeared to Tomoe’s left.

“You make me sick. Playing such mind games, when you really can’t even control yourself,” Jun spat. His doll, Shinku, then appeared.

“As a Medium you rate very poorly. In fact I wouldn’t hesitate to call you worthless.”

“Quiet… you don’t even know me…” Suigintou appeared on Megu’s right side.

“Did you really think there was any kind of connection between us? I was just using you for your power, but you don’t even have any to give. Did you really believe you could fix me? You’re… what I would refer to as… junk.”

“I… I am junk…?” Tsugumi unconsciously rubbed his right leg before falling on his behind, eventually curling up into the fetal position on the ground. His eyes slowly began to unfocus. “I’m useless… to everyone… If I’m such a burden, what’s the point… of continuing…?”

On the roof of a nearby building, Kirakishou stood on the edge. A wide smile was painted across her pale face. “Soon you’ll break… little human. Then onee-sama will see me… then she’ll appreciate me… Ahaha… And then I’ll…” The laughter which followed fell upon Tsugumi’s ears, but he didn’t even hear it.

In his bedroom back in the real world, the rose vines which had entangled him began growing thorns. They pressed into his body, tearing his skin, causing blood to drip down his skin and onto his bed. He was beginning to break.

At that exact same moment, Suigintou felt a strange sensation. She first thought of Tsugumi, but upon examination of her ring she decided that wasn’t the case. It was glowing very faintly, just as it had over the past few days. It represented the bond between them, and it was weakening. ‘That idiot. If I lose him as my Medium, nothing will change. I can go on without that power, just like before,’ she lied to herself. In actuality the days since she had taken the Gardeners’ artificial spirits had been her most difficult in as long as she could remember, though she felt no reason to delve deeper and try to rationalize such feelings.

She found the nearest window and entered her n-Field.

As soon as she did, her misgivings grew. Something was very wrong. Suigintou flew over the city which comprised her personal world, heading towards an odd light in the distance. Within a couple minutes, as the strange sensation grew, she reached a street which was overgrown with purple crystals. “What is this? The irregularity which has been bothering me…?” she asked, becoming suspicious. Could one of the two other Sisters have done this?

Out of nowhere, a huge crystal pierced towards Suigintou. Flipping through the air, she dodged it easily enough, but the second one was a little harder to avoid. “Who’s there?!” she yelled angrily.

“Who’s there?” a bland yet breathy voice responded from the distance.

“Show yourself!”

“Show… yourself…” Suigintou’s eyes narrowed. In the distance a light suddenly twinkled. A doll was revealed. The doll had white hair and a pale lavender dress which clung closely to her body and ended at her knees-high boots. Her right eye was covered by some kind of eye patch.

“Eh?! You are?!” Suigintou asked cautiously.

“Bara… suishou… The seventh doll of the Rozen Maiden,” the unfamiliar doll responded coldly.

“Seventh?” Several spires shot out from beneath Suigintou, then another set and another. They were easily dodged; this one must have just awakened if her power was so weak… “Enough of this. Play time is over!” She rushed towards Barasuishou, but a huge crystal seemed to grow directly out of the doll and sped towards Suigintou at incredible speed.

She folded her black wings around her body, successfully blocking the attack. Next it was her turn… Countless black feathers raced towards Barasuishou, but she effortlessly created an energy field to block them all. “You certainly are a pretentious little sister,” Suigintou growled. She unconsciously began to draw in more power, her Medium’s power. However… there was no response.

Suigintou drew a quick breath in shock. ‘He won’t give me any power? There’s no way the bond could be so weak… Something else is going on here.’ The feathers continued to bounce harmlessly off of Barasuishou’s shield until she swept them away in a gust of her power.

“You’re… so weak.”

“What?!” ‘Tsugumi… what the hell is going on?!’

She continued to dodge the blasts of crystals as she flew towards the church- only there would she be able to see what was going on with her Medium. Unexpectedly, as she was avoiding an attack from below, a barrier of crystal sprung up from the ground, catching Suigintou off guard. One of them grazed her arm, sending her spiraling to the ground. She cried out in pain as she slammed into the ground. A blast of many smaller crystals pierced into her clothing and body before she was able to pull her wings into a protective shell.

“Pathetic.” Barasuishou ceased her attack at once.

“You little…” The power inside her was decreasing at a rapid rate. There was no way she would be able to escape from this opponent, and without being able to draw more energy from her Medium... Barasuishou slowly lowered herself to the ground, mere meters in front of Suigintou. She held out a hand, summoning a crystal sword.

“I… expected more from you…” She drew the sword up. Her swing would surely be the last thing Suigintou ever saw. Barasuishou’s eyes widened, however, when she discovered that she was unable to move the sword at all. She looked over her shoulder. Most unexpectedly, it was Laplace’s Demon who was holding the weapon so steadfastly.

“Barasuishou, you are in danger,” he said grimly, confusing the doll. A slit in the n-Field appeared under her, pulling her out of the realm before sealing itself once more. The tuxedo-wearing rabbit then turned to a shocked Suigintou. “Jade Dream and Lempicka, they are not alone in their manipulations. The reason for your bond breaking… The truth and the lie, you will see both on this day. Which is which- that will be your decision to make.”

“You make as little sense as ever,” Suigintou grunted as she stood. He bowed deeply and disappeared into the darkness. Suigintou gave his words little thought. She grabbed her lacey headband off the ground and flew once more towards the church.

…

At the Sakurada household, Shinku’s case suddenly burst open to reveal its owner, wide-eyed and panting. The cases of Suiseiseki and Hina-ichigo subsequently opened, albeit those dolls were not so awake. “Shinku, what’s going on ~desu?” Suiseiseki asked in an unusually quiet voice.

“So sleepy…” Hina-ichigo yawned, rubbing her eyes. “Shinku? What’s wrong ~na no?” Shinku clasped her hands at her heart, quickly regaining control of her breathing. Just as she seemed to be ready to give an explanation, Jun quickly sat up from his slumber.

“Tsugumi-san!” he yelled, still caught half-way between being asleep and awake. Suiseiseki and Hina-ichigo were now very confused, but Shinku knew it was a validation. “Shinku, you too?” Jun asked after he caught his breath. Shinku’s eyes widened for a split-second; she was surprised at how easily Jun could read her emotions these days.

“Yes. All of you must get ready. We’re diving into the n-Field,” Shinku stated firmly as she stood. She immediately summoned Holie before closing her case and leaving Jun’s room. The two remaining dolls watched in a state of awe as Jun pulled his sweater on.

“You dolls- what are you waiting for?”

“What’s going on, chibi human?” Suiseiseki asked as he rushed out of the room without even giving an answer. She frowned and put her hands on her hips. “Honestly, ~desu, that rude human needs to learn some manners! Well? Hina-ichigo, we should follow them. There’s no telling what kind of trouble they’ll get into if we’re not there to check up on them.”

“B-b-but… Um… They are both so nervous… Is something bad going to happen to Suigintou’s Medium?” Hina-ichigo asked innocently. Suiseiseki looked back over her shoulder at the shorter doll.

“I… Maybe. But if we don’t go, Shinku might be in trouble, too.”

…

Back in Suigintou’s n-Field, the dolls and Jun warped in as usual. Jun actually did manage to land on his feet this time, though. Shinku took off and began flying through the air, followed quickly by Jun, Hina and Suiseiseki. “This is further proof that something is very wrong,” Shinku explained. “Usually Suigintou would not allow anyone to fly here except herself.”

“Plus the mirror city isn’t there anymore,” Jun noticed. Above them was a normal, albeit cloudy, sky.

“Probably her Medium’s influence. He was able to brighten her life…”

“Has something happened to that scary human?” Suiseiseki asked timidly. “Did… did Suigintou…” Suiseiseki imagined a grinning Suigintou standing above a blindfolded Tsugumi, holding a huge scythe over his head like some kind of Grim Reaper.

“No,” Shinku strongly disagreed. “This sensation I’ve been feeling… Both of them are experiencing terror, albeit in different ways.”

“Shinku, where are we headed?” Jun asked after some time.

“This field is patterned after the city where we last fought. If I know her, she’s probably made herself a home at the old church,” explained the leading doll. “It should be just over here.”

The three dolls and their human companion landed in front of the church shortly afterward. Shinku pushed open the church’s creaky doors. Jun was amazed by the stunning scenery inside, especially compared to the dark and drab look Suigintou’s world had in the past. While he was gawking, Shinku’s eyes quickly sought out and found Suigintou. She stood unsteadily on the altar, looking through countless shards of glass which surrounded her.

The first Sister’s clothes were tattered, her headband noticeably absent. Her hands flew quickly through the air, as if she was searching through the fragments for something. Shinku realized that the fragments were glimpses into the real world and n-Fields. Suigintou didn’t even realize as the group approached her.

“Suigintou, what has happened to you?” Shinku asked daringly. No response came. “Suigintou? What are you searching for?”

“I thought you might come eventually,” she finally stated in a low voice, not looking away from her work. Jun realized that her wings looked much smaller than thinner than usual, perhaps a sign of battle. “The Seventh is awake.” They all took the information in stride; the outcome of the battle was obvious. “I can’t find him.” Her voice seemed almost… desperate?

“Who?” Jun asked. “Tsugumi-san?” She didn’t respond again.

“Have you checked his dream world? I thought I may have felt a dream door being opened, but it didn’t feel like Jade Dream or Lempicka,” Suiseiseki said, trying to be helpful even though she was standing a good deal further away from the altar than the others.

“There was some kind of interference,” Suigintou stated.

“No way ~desu, let me see my Jade Dream! I’ll get through whatever ‘interference’ you had ~desu!” Suiseiseki crossed her arms and turned around. There was no way Suigintou would ever willingly turn the artificial spirits over.

“Here.” Suiseiseki slowly turned around, scared of what might be waiting for her. Suigintou had pushed aside the mirror fragments. She held out her hand toward Suiseiseki, holding Jade Dream. Her face was sullen, but she didn’t seem to mind giving up what she had stolen not so long ago. “I’m doing this in a moment of weakness,” she pronounced. “Too much is going on for me to worry about defeating weak dolls like you. Take your artificial spirit back and use it to open Tsugumi’s dream.” She turned to the others. “I won’t ask you to help me, but…” She held up her left hand; her rose ring was beginning to crack.

“Something is happening to that Medium. Someone has trapped him inside his own dream. He is breaking, even now as we speak.” Her voice was low and deadly. Her other hand was shaking, tightly hanging on to her headband. “You there, Suiseiseki!” Jade Dream suddenly jumped from Suigintou’s hand and flew towards its old master. “Open the dream door, now!”

“Jade Dream!” she called, a small sense of relief in her voice. The spirit circled over and over until his dream door was opened. “Papa, Papa! Look, look!”

The sliver haired girl showed her father a porcelain doll almost half the size of herself.

“I made this myself; Happy Birthday Papa!”

The girl handed her father his present and show him the most beautiful smile he had ever seen. He smiled back and padded her in the head.

Rozen: “Thank you, Alice. They are the most beautiful presents you ever gave me.”

“They? But I only gave papa one.”

The father chuckled as he stroked his lovely daughter’s hair.

Rozen: “Silly girl”

This was one of her happiest memories of her life.

Shinku woke up from her suitcase, it’s 3 in the morning and everyone else was asleep. Amazing that they still could sleep soundly after everything that happen but that’s not the reason why Shinku was awake. She felt something is calling out to her, a faint voice that’s coming from the attic.

“Shi…ku…Shinku…”

As if an unseen force compelling her, Shinku heads to the attic. The door automatically opens in front of her and she was greeted by a pair of legs and a pink glow floating on top. Shinku immediate recognize what these belong to, horrified by the sight she saw.

Shinku: “H-Hina Ichigo?”

“Shin…ku…”

Shinku: “What in father’s name happened to you?”

Berrybell floats forward presenting the red doll Hina Ichigo’s Rozen Mystical. Shinku held the Rozen Mystical and image rushed into her mind, she see images of Enju and Barasuishou, Hina Ichigo’s reawakening and the appearance of another doll. It wasn’t long before Shinku was introduced to the devouring of Hina Ichigo. If Shinku had a stomach she would have vomited everything she had inside from the gruesome images.

“Shinku…”

Shinku: “What have they done to you. It’s inhuman.”

“Shinku…beware…of the 7th…she is scary…~nano…”

Shinku: “The 7th? You mean that doll?”

“Shinku…”

Hina’s voice faded and entered into Shinku. Tears rolled down from her eyes but she would not cry, her face shown determination that the line had been crossed and she felt that enough was enough. While scanning through Hina Ichigo’s last memories she came across a closed down shop, the doll shop once opened by Enju. Shinku was no longer lost in confusion and uncertainty. Although the possibility of a trap was uncertain, at least there’s something to start with. At last, there was hope.

Shinku: “They will pay; I promise that they will pay.”

Megu woke up after hours of sleep, eyes still red from her sobbing. She looked around, still no sign of Suigintou but she noticed a bouquet of white roses with a card on it.

‘To Megu,

Your wish will come true soon

Suigintou’

Megu: “It’s beautiful, thank you.”

She never thought of how Suigintou get those flowers but she didn’t care. Suigintou might be hiding somewhere to avoid embarrassment she thought. A held the bouquet, the flowers smelled nice, unaware of the fatal surprise installed for her. A sinister voice whispered in Megu’s ears

“Fufufu…goodbye, foolish weakling.”

From the flowers came an overwhelming number of vines, they didn’t take long to encircle around the girl and binded her all over, it happened so fast that Megu didn’t have time to react. Frightened, Megu struggled to break free, but the more she struggled she felt the vines tightening their bind on her. A vine around her neck tightens by the struggle, threatening to choke Megu to death but that was not all that was threatening her life. She felt weakened, as life the energy in her body was drained away. The vines were slowing sucking the life energy form. That was when Megu realized that she was going to die; she panicked and struggled even more to free herself. If she was going to die, she should be happy and accepted it but why all she felt was fear? The girl started to lose consciousness and she no longer have the strength to move, in her final desperation Megu used everything that’s left in her to call out for help.

“Suigintou…help…”

Megu passed out.

Shinku held the Rozen Mystical and image rushed into her mind, she see images of Enju and Barasuishou, Hina Ichigo’s reawakening and the appearance of another doll. It wasn’t long before Shinku was introduced to the devouring of Hina Ichigo. If Shinku had a stomach she would have vomited everything she had inside from the gruesome images.

“Shinku…”

Shinku: “What have they done to you. It’s inhuman.”

“Shinku…beware…of the 7th…she is scary…~nano…”

Shinku: “The 7th? You mean that doll?”

“Shinku…”

Hina’s voice faded and entered into Shinku. Tears rolled down from her eyes but she would not cry, her face shown determination that the line had been crossed and she felt that enough was enough. While scanning through Hina Ichigo’s last memories she came across a closed down shop, the doll shop once opened by Enju. Shinku was no longer lost in confusion and uncertainty. Although the possibility of a trap was uncertain, at least there’s something to start with. At last, there was hope.

Shinku: “They will pay; I promise that they will pay.”

Megu woke up after hours of sleep, eyes still red from her sobbing. She looked around, still no sign of Suigintou but she noticed a bouquet of white roses with a card on it.

‘To Megu,

Your wish will come true soon

Suigintou’

Megu: “It’s beautiful, thank you.”

She never thought of how Suigintou get those flowers but she didn’t care. Suigintou might be hiding somewhere to avoid embarrassment she thought. A held the bouquet, the flowers smelled nice, unaware of the fatal surprise installed for her. A sinister voice whispered in Megu’s ears

“Fufufu…goodbye, foolish weakling.”

From the flowers came an overwhelming number of vines, they didn’t take long to encircle around the girl and binded her all over, it happened so fast that Megu didn’t have time to react. Frightened, Megu struggled to break free, but the more she struggled she felt the vines tightening their bind on her. A vine around her neck tightens by the struggle, threatening to choke Megu to death but that was not all that was threatening her life. She felt weakened, as life the energy in her body was drained away. The vines were slowing sucking the life energy form. That was when Megu realized that she was going to die; she panicked and struggled even more to free herself. If she was going to die, she should be happy and accepted it but why all she felt was fear? The girl started to lose consciousness and she no longer have the strength to move, in her final desperation Megu used everything that’s left in her to call out for help.

“Suigintou…help…”

Megu passed out.

The only one that I belive to be Gin is located somewhat on the upper right (while facing the monitor) section of the image; thing is.., she is all dressed like Shinku :p

However.., Shinku's cain & dress aside..., she is the only one who has that hairstyle and she even has on the top of her head a part of her original dress so.., if Gin is there.., she has to be it :)

This is a great image though.., the first time I was watching it, the "flash" scared me a bit ^^, I was so focused on trying to find her and realy wasn't expecting it :p

I don't belive that Megu will take part on the OVA.., as the reports that have been coming in seem to indicate that ~Outerbure~ is a prequel to "Rozen Maiden" Season 1.
Hence.. since the development in the story regarding on when Gin met Megu only toke place on ~Traumend~, and if the reports turn out to be true.., it would be impossible to give the focus you mencioned.

However altough alot is still uncertain.., I'm reading things where it says its going to be a mini-series, others where its just a 1 episode OVA.., so.. my best guess none can say what it will be about except.., it will revolve arround Gin as the protagonist.

And we don't even know the date of its release yet... awww.. its killing me :p

All and all we can surely expect a great OVA.., its Gin.., what else is there closer to perfection..

well, the thing is, it was composed by Mitsumune Shinkichi. The very same person who did Rozen Maiden.

There are several tracks that are very similar to that of Rozen.
There's even a track, that appears to be the full version of 'Concerto.'
for those who loved the music, give Zero's ost a shot. You'll love it.

Oh, yeah, I'll be posting the wall sometime Saturday or Sunday. Please don't miss it. :p It will be a great tribute to Suigintou. xD!

I agree on this one. I don't think we'll be seeing Jun or Nori or Megu(as a matter of fact, I'd prefer not seeing them at all :p) in this OVA. Most likely there will be new characters and it will be all about the previous Alice game. I am also hoping that the time setting will be sometime Mid-century.

I have just finished watching season 1 and 2 today, and at first, I thought that the eyepatch girl at the end of season 2 was Bara reborn (the eyepatch on the other eye was strange to me, though). So, I hop onto this thread, and find out that it was a girl named Kira.

Now forgive my laziness for not wanting to search through the entire thread (it's kinda big, and I'm a bit sleepy :heh: ), but how is this girl's identity known? What else is known about her? All I know is that she's in cahoots with the rabbit, and they have Sousei Seki and Hina Ichigo's Rosa Mysticae.

Oh, and Suigin Tou is awesome. Also, am I the only one who couldn't shake the image of Mint Blamanche from their head whenever Shinku spoke?

Her identity is known through the manga. She first identified herself as "Bara-Otome" which (very loosely) means Rozen Maiden, but soon cleared this up as Kirakishou. All we really know about her is that she is obsessed with her "onee-sama" Suigintou (kinda like some people in this thread!). She looks and talks sweetly but seems totally nuts.

That's really all we know.

As for Suigintou... yeah, she rocks. Whenever I watch Air Gear and Simca talks in a serious tone... sounds just like Gin-sama (same VA).

I guess that's why whenever I watched Zero no Tsukaima, I was reminded of Rozen Maiden when I listened to the BGMs. There is a strong Victorian feel to it.

Turns out it was the same composer.

"JUN-KUN!" screamed a terrified high pitched voice.

"Wha...?" Jun mumbled as he awoke with a start in the pitch black of his bedroom.

"Something terrible has happened!" said the frightened voice.

Jun stumbled around on his bed trying to find the switch to his wall lamp, but when he reached to where he intuitively knew the lamp's switch would be at, the lamp wasn't even there.

'Damn,' thought Jun. 'Where the hell is it?'

He then glanced at his alarm clock sitting on his nightstand a few feet away and saw it was 4 a.m.

He had always needed to wear his glasses to read the clock despite its proximity to his bed, yet he wasn't wearing his glasses. Jun then realized something felt wrong about his body. He noticed that he wasn't wearing his pajamas but rather something that felt very similar to a thick cloth. He also felt that his bed sheets and pillow were much larger than usual.

"What the hell is happening?" Jun said under his breath. "And why does my voice sound so high?"

"Jun-kun..." repeated the frightened voice.

The light on Jun's desk turned on revealing a shivering Hinaichigo standing on Jun's desk chair. When she turned her head and looked at him, her eyes increased in size so much that they appeared that they were about to burst.

"Jun-kun," replied a tearful Hinaichigo. "You won't believe what happened."

Hinaichigo climb down off the chair and stumbled to the side of Jun's bed, and he noticed that she was gripping a small mirror in her petite hands. She held the mirror out to him, and it was then when he went to grab the mirror, he noticed that his hand appeared tiny.

"Look in the mirror," said Hinaichigo.

Jun lifted the mirror up to his face and was shocked to see Suiseiseki's shocked face staring back at him.

"How can this be?" whispered Jun, as he continued staring at the reflection of Suiseiseki staring back at him in the mirror.

"I don't know, Jun-kun," replied Hinaichigo.

"And why do you keep calling me Jun-kun, Hinaichigo?" asked Jun.

As he asked that question, he lowered the mirror onto his lap and noticed that he certainly wasn't wearing his pajamas but rather he was wearing Suiseiseki's green dress. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"But I've always called you Jun-kun," cried Hinaichigo. "You are my brother."

Jun looked at Hinaichigo suspiciously and asked, "Nori?"

Hinaichigo nodded her little head while her tears flowed down her cheeks.

Hinaichigo wiped her nose and said," I don't know how this happened, but we've become the dolls."

"Will you stop making so much noise ~desu." groaned a male voice. "I was having the most wonderful dream..."

The room was filled with a loud shriek.

"Someone please pinch me ~desu!" screamed the male voice, which sounded exactly like Jun's voice. "I'm having the worst nightmare ever ~desu!"

"JUN!!"

Jun, Nori, and Suiseiseki all looked up trying to figure out where the voice was coming from, but none of them could figure where the voice came from.

"You certainly make an awful servant," sighed the voice.

Suiseiseki then surprised both Jun and Nori when she said, "Kun Kun?"

"Kun Kun?" repeated Jun looking at Suiseiseki.

"It sounds like Kun Kun ~desu," said Suiseiseki pointing toward the bookself.

Sure enough as soon as they looked at the Detective Kun Kun doll sitting on the bookself, they realized that Shinku was now in Kun Kun's body.

Kun Kun shook his head in disgust and said, "About time servant."

The sound of evil laughing filled the dark storage room. The only light leaked from the small gap beneath the door.

Suigintou stepped out of the large mirror and at first saw only cardboard boxes. Then she spotted Shinku's case lying on the ground.

"What's this?" she asked softly as she walked toward the closed case. "Why is her case in such a dark place?"

Suigintou knelt beside the case and slowly opened the case not knowing whether Shinku was inside or not. Then she spotted Shinku inside.

"Shinku?" Suigintou asked not knowing if Shinku was asleep or not.

Shinku did not respond.

Suigintou softly laughed, "So innocent looking yet so ugly at the same time. It would be so easy to take your Rosa Mystica while you sleep."

The door to the storage room opened blinding Suigintou with the bright light from the hallway.

"What do you think you are doing?" asked an angry Shinku in Kun Kun's body standing at the doorway.

Suigintou's eyes quickly adjusted to the light, and she was shocked to see Detective Kun Kun standing at the entrance to the storage room.

"Kun Kun?" asked a surprised Suigintou as she quickly shut Shinku's case.

Suigintou then quickly stood up and and started adjusting her dress and her hair as she apologetically said, "I'm sorry, Kun Kun. If I had known you were going to be here, I would have made myself more presentable."

Shinku was of course puzzled by Suigintou's comments.

"What are are talking about?" asked Shinku.

"I have all your dvds," said an embarrassed Suigintou. "Oh, wait, I haven't introduced myself."

Suigintou curtsied as she said, "I'm Suigintou the first Rozen Maiden, and I'm your biggest fan."

'I'm Kun Kun's biggest fan!' thought an annoyed Shinku.

"I have all your dvds, cds, posters, coloring books, and statuettes," continued Suigintou as she stood up straight. "I also have a Kun Kun plush doll I play with."

Shinku realized Suigintou had no idea she was in Kun Kun's body.

Suigintou shuffled her feet and blushed as she said, "I even sleep with the doll because it makes me feel as if you're with me."

Shinku chuckled to herself at the thought that Suigintou, who pretended to be tough, was actually a softy.

"I also wear the official Kun Kun costume when I watch you on television. Though stupid Megu thinks it's funny when I dress up as you," Suigintou whispered angrily. "I don't see why it's funny when I wear the costume."

"Um, Suigintou?" Shinku softly said.

"Oh, Kun Kun," cried Suigintou as she rushed toward Shinku and hugged her tightly. "I love you Kun Kun!"

"Suigintou, you're hugging me too tight!" yelled Shinku as she attempted to push Suigintou off.

Suigintou decreased her grip on Shinku and said, "I'm sorry, Kun Kun. It's just I never thought I'd actually meet you. I always wanted to meet you."

Shinku decided she didn't want the Kun Kun obsessed Suigintou to learn that she was in Kun Kun's body. Shinku did not want her sleeping body to be harmed by Suigintou, thus Shinku decided to pretend to be Kun Kun long enough until Suigintou left.

"What's this costume you're talking about?" asked Shinku doing her best impression of Kun Kun.

Shinku had never heard or seen anything about a Kun Kun costume.

Suigintou stopped hugging Shinku and asked, "You don't know about the costume?"

"No, the staff doesn't tell me what merchandise they sell," lied Shinku. "Because a great detective like me spends most of my time solving mysteries."

"Wow, Kun Kun," replied an awed Suigintou. "I didn't know how much time you spent solving mysteries."

"The costume?" reminded Shinku.

Suigintou blushed at her forgetfulness and said, "Megu ordered it from some obscure mail order catalog."

"Which catalog?" demanded Shinku.

"I don't remember," replied Suigintou.

"I told my staff not to sell any costumes based on my likeness," complained Shinku. "And they agreed not to sell Kun Kun costumes."

"My Kun Kun costume is a fake?" asked a shocked Suigintou.

"It's certainly not sanctioned by the Detective Kun Kun Company," explained Shinku.

Suigintou's eyes filled with tears as she cried, "But it even had a tag saying it was the real thing."

"I'm sorry, but Megu unknowingly bought a fake," stated Shinku.

'Only I can wear the official Detective Kun Kun costume, since I'm Kun Kun's biggest fan!' Shinku gloatingly thought as she pictured herself wearing the costume.

Despite the fact Shinku was in a Kun Kun doll body, she did want to be back in the body Rozen made for her. It was Rozen who created her, and Shinku did not want to disappoint her father by not becoming Alice. How could she become Alice in a Kun Kun doll body?

Suigintou collapsed to the floor crying as she whispered, "It's not fair."

Shinku looked at the crying Suigintou and couldn't believe what she had done to the once proud Suigintou.

Shinku hugged her and whispered, "Don't cry, Suigintou. Were you happy when you wore it?"

"Yes," sniffled Suigintou as she looked into Shinku's eyes.

"Okay, here's what I want you to do," explained Shinku as she caressed Suigintou's hair. "When you go back to Megu, tell her the costume is a fake, but before she says anything, I want you to tell her it made you happy."

"Okay."

"Make sure she understands you don't hate her for the mistake," said Shinku.

"I'll never hate Megu, Kun Kun," explained Suigintou as she wiped tears of her face. "She's the only one I love besides father."

"You don't love me?" asked Shinku playfully.

Suigintou's eyes widened in horror as she realized she had forgotten to mention Kun Kun.

"I love you too, Kun Kun!" Suigintou quickly said as she hugged Shinku.

Shinku hugged Suigintou back.

As Suigintou continued to hug her Shinku sadly thought, 'I wish Suigintou didn't hate me.'

"Suigintou," said Shinku as they stopped hugging. "Why did you come here?"

Suigintou looked at Shinku and plainly said, "I came here to see what Shinku was up to."

"Do you like her?" Shinku asked.

"No." Suigintou said as her eyes narrowed.

"Why?"

"Because Father didn't complete me when he made me, I felt he favored Shinku over me." Suigintou explained.

"Did he really prefer her over you?"

"No," replied Suigintou. "He told us he loved us equally and it was a mistake for him to not finish me when he first made me."

"But why do you still hate Shinku?" pressed Shinku.

"Because I can't forgive her for calling me junk!" sneered Suigintou.

Every time Suigintou reminded Shinku that she used to call Suigintou junk, Shinku felt as if she was being stabbed in the heart. Shinku had wished many times she had never called Suigintou junk. Though Suigintou hated Shinku, Shinku loved Suigintou.

"What if she told you she's sorry and she loves you?" asked Shinku hoping Suigintou would stop hating her. "You shouldn't hate your own sister."

"I know I shouldn't hate Shinku," explained Suigintou. "But she has no idea how much it hurt me to be called junk for so long. To feel as if Father thought I was a failed creation."

"Kun Kun," asked Suigintou as she pulled away from Shinku. "Why are you here?"

"I was... I mean..." Shinku stumbled.

Shinku had to come up with an excuse fast.

"What I was going to say was I came here because Shinku is one of my fans," explained Shinku wiping the tears off her face. "And my staff thought it would be good public relations to visit some of my fans."

"Why Shinku and not me, Kun Kun?" whined Suigintou as her lower lip pouted.

"You were going to be my next stop," soothed Shinku.

Shinku was surprised to see Suigintou act so childish, because Shinku had always seen her act like a very mature girl.

"Oh, Kun Kun," cried Suigintou as she happily hugged Shinku again.

"Suigintou," whispered Shinku as she hugged her back.

"Shinku!"

Shinku opened her eyes and found her head resting on the box she was using as her desk in the storage room.

'It was just a dream,' thought a disappointed and sad Shinku as she slowly raised her head.

"Shinku!" yelled Jun standing at the the doorway.

"Stop yelling at me servant!" yelled Shinku.

"Lunch is ready," said Jun as he turned and left.

Shinku looked around the room hoping it hadn't been a dream, but Suigintou was nowhere to be seen in the darkness.

Rozen sat beside her precious daughter’s bed, disheartened. Recently Alice had been violently coughing blood and felt frequent pains in her chest. Doctors could do nothing to save her as she suffered from a strange disease. The same disease that took away his wife, not it’s not yet satisfied and decided to take his daughter as well. The father went berserk and forced the doctors out of his home, cursing them for their incompetence. Now the pain subsided and Alice was sleeping peacefully for now, but it won’t be long before the damned disease took her away. If this is an act of god, then god would be damned forever. If the doctors or god couldn’t save her then he would take matters into his own hands. Rozen quietly placed his two hands around Alice neck, but Alice woke up regardless. The dying girl looked at her father, his eyes looked so sad and tears flowing from them. Rozen looked back at her eyes; they are beautiful, just like his late wife.

Alice: “Father, Why are you crying?”

Rozen: “Alice, forgive me.” *sob*

The girl knew what her father was about to do, she did not resisted and show him a gentle smile.

Alice: “I forgive you, father.”

Rozen: *sob* “Thank you…”

Rozen was just about to tighten his grip, his daughter softly interrupted.

Alice: “Father…”

Rozen: “?”

Alice: “I love you.”

The girl closed her eyes, accepting what’s to come. Rozen tightly strangled Alice, depriving her oxygen to her lungs. Finally the girl drew her last breath and she lay on her bed motionless.

Rozen: “Sleep peacefully.”

Rozen kissed his dead daughter’s forehead before carrying her to his lab. Outside Alice’s room stood an old butler, saddened by his master’s action but he reminded silent. He too knew about his master’s plan.

Lucifer: “All preparations are ready, young master.”

Rozen: “Very well, thank you Lucian. I’ll leave the house under your care.”

Lucifer: “As you wish. But please call me Lucifer, in remembrance to her.”

Rozen: “I’ll keep that in mind.”

Rozen entered his lab with Alice and locked the door behind him, never to come out for the next 5 years.

Similiar, but different from where I'm heading. But for most part, yeah, it's sumthing like that. I remember pages back I have a theory that the Rozen Mysticals are made from Alice's body being cut up into 7 piece. The head, chest, hip, 2 arms, 2 legs. So combine the 7 you get Alice, but still needs a shell, that's where the dolls come in. And no I'm not gonna use it in my fanfic :heh:

I don't really buy this theory, mainly because of a few points that are overlooked.

According to the dolls, and as suggested by the series, Alice is perfect, so there is no way she would turn out to be a total brute, just a perfect lady. And it was already known that Rozen first started with Suigintou, he didn't get the perfect doll he intended. While Suigintou is pure, she lacked the other qualities he envisioned in Alice, so he made another attempt. And then another attempt. And the result was the 7 Rozen Maiden, each with 1 distinct personality which should be present in the Alice he seeks, but each lacking the other personalities.

Thus here comes two theories, one, Alice can be created if these dolls were to defeat each other and acquire Roza Mystica from each other and assimilate them into their own Roza Mystica. The second way to get the Alice he seeks would to have them develop the other 6 distinct personalities on their own, which was already seen to be happening in the series.

Rozen probably thought out of the Alice Game theory first, but eventually came to realize that theory number 2 might work, and thus, he would bother himself to tell Shinku that there are other ways to become Alice, because, being the observer, he had noticed that each of the dolls were beginning to acquire other traits of Alice.

All this Rozen talk... I have to add my own piece! My theory at this point is the most basic and simple. Rozen was a metaphysical genius who also happened to be a doll-maker. But everyone has their limits. Perhaps he just could not figure out how to create the perfect living doll, because he was only human and was himself imperfect. Therefore, to create the perfect girl, he did what he could and created seven Rosae Mysticum and seven dolls which would be their receptacles. He waited a significant amount of time as their personalities matured... but his plans got interrupted.

In the anime Enju messes things up, an in the manga Kirakishou is causing problems for his master plan. I mean, if the guy makes living dolls and transcends time and allows access to dreams and n-Fields... He's got to have some huge master plan, and he uses Laplace's Demon to guide the dolls when necessary.

As for his motives, maybe is was just something he wanted to do for the world. Not for himself.

From what I've always read, I belive Mince has somewhat the same prespective on this subject as I have; hence what I am about to say may just end up as beeing support for this particular point of view.

Let us not forget that all of the Rozen Maiden.., as Shinku said it herself.., are Failures; Failures in what was suposed to be Alice.

Hence it is why I belive that Rozen wanted or hoped was to achieve Alice in everytime he created a Rozen Maiden; but as we know the story.., when Gin was created she lacked many aspects and thus failed as Alice.
Such an outcome then forced Rozen to try once more, and once more, and once more.. but as more as he could try all of his dolls seemed to lack something that would make them compleat..

However in the end upon finishing his 7th doll.., Rozen probably realised that even though all of his 7 creations fell short from Alice.., he ended up with 7 unique dolls.., each devoted of her own personality's, prespectives, atitude and will.

But allas, all had something that the other did not.., and that was why I belive Rozen then first decided to set them free and only act as a spectator.

He probably saw that each could complement each other.., hence the union of all 7 would result in Alice; however he could not simply destroy them as in to unify them and obtain the Alice he seeks.
And I say this because.., it is one of the most important lessons we are shown in ~Traumend~ regarding on how Jun has the purest feelings of what is right, just as Rozen's and where Enju falls short of them.

Jun belives that every doll, even having been created as a failure has something inside that makes her perfect, which is probably the same feeling that Rozen has and why he did not destroy his beloved creations even after he failed on his objective while creating them.
To Enju however even though he placed the same amout of love into all of his dolls, he would still destroy those that ended up as failures.., and his desire for his only creation to surpass those of others showed us that he has clearly not the same feeling towards "all" dolls.

The Key in becoming Alice is for one to understand what is right and rong, to each herself learns what is missing inside.
Hence the Alice game beeing nothing more then a matter of where choices come into play, and that is what it is all about; choices.

Through the Alice Game many had learned the downside of they're choices, when upon seeing the true motives of what drove all the others into making they'res aswell.., and allas those who have fallen where I guess.. destined to do such in a way.
Upon making certain choices you cannot go back.., or as Sou herself wanted to say.., if I stop beeing true to them, I stop beeing who I am; hence her decision had long been taken and she could not revert it.., which ended up leading to the development we know.

It is a harsh way to show each doll the effect on how her choices and prespective have in the end I agree.., but all in the end have grown much more phsycologicaly and are now closer to Alice then ever before; which is was Rozen always desired.
However I am sure that he mourns for the losses.., but like I previously said.., the choices they made had somewhat destined they're fate.., and it is why he will not restore them.

If such is possible.., the other dolls will have to do so.., if they choose to do so that is..; for this is yet again.. another choice.

A Rosa Mysticae to me purely seems to be the Soul of each doll, however I now become wondering if in order to become Alice one does need to obtain all 7.

Alice is the Perfect Beeing, a Girl devoted of purity and imperfection.., so naturaly if each Rosa Mystica englobes all the aspects of each Rozen Maiden, and since they alone are failures but together complement themselves.., it would be natural to assume that if one gathered all 7 Rosa Mysticae, she would become Alice.

However.., this choice would imply taking every Rosa Mysticae from her sisters.., and even though it may be a true possibility to become Alice.., it is not what Rozen wishes in the end.
The last lines in ~Traumend~ are best to identify this reason.. "There are other ways to become Alice"

Hence.., Rozen does hope that one of his dolls reaches Alice.., not through obtaining everyone else's Rosa Mystica, but learning how to become Alice herself.

On a final note now..
Someone mencioned previously about Rozen possibily having created the Rozen Maiden in search of Alice as to resemble his dead daughter.

I have to say I dissagree with this.., so far we have no indications that Rozen even had a daughter, that girl we see (Still in the Victorian age) with Shinku does not seem to be Rozen's daughter.., and even if she was.., it would then compleatly disregard the option that what drove Rozen to try and acomplish Alice was because his daughter had passed away.

I understand how many could see this as a possibility, many speculations are influenced on a number of events we saw or witnessed.., and the love of a father for his daughter indeed is able to surpass many barriers.

However.., I belive this is not the case on Rozen Maiden..
Rozen himself is a creator.., he simply and purely wanted to create something Perfect.., the Perfect Girl.
As a creator, a maestro... for his love of creating something so beautiful, so perfect that it would surpass even the limits of reality, nothing more.

Hence.., its my take on this ;)

Like I previously said on " AP " and on " Shuu ".., this work realy resembles the level of perfection your entire word and effort toke in order to compleat it.

Saying this is the best Gin wallpaper I have ever seen, and definitly the best ever made to date aswell, would all without a doubt more then true facts.

I guess if Rozen didnt think his maidens were failures, he wouldnt need the Alice Game in the first place. :heh: But I supposed its how one defines between failure and perfection. Say Enju for example, seems to define only between the two; if it's not perfect, it's a failure; so *crunchcrunch* it. Rozen on the other hand, I'm not too sure. Maybe thats why he appears so harsh to them and makes them play the Alice Game, because in their eyes they are failures; Maybe not.

@Flo - Of course RM can stand up to the TP abuse, but it's what I perceive to be the arrogance of the translator to change key characteristics that gets me. A translator translates, if they want to recreate a character then they should write their own series, could you imagine if a translator of Popeye decided that spinich wasn't localised enough and changed it to seaweed?
