Rozen Maiden: Wiederbelebung Chapter 7 up. This may be my last chapter I'm writing before I'm enlisted into the army. But with luck I may manage chapter 8 before I go, but for now please enjoy chapter 7.

“Suigintou…help…”

The sleeping Suigintou’s eyes shot open hearing Megu’s weak cry of help.

Suigintou: (Megu!)

Suigintou immediately jumped into the room and found her unconscious medium covered in vines, which are draining the life out of her. Suigintou quickly ripped the vines off with her bare hands, only to see that they grew back in an instant.

Suigintou: *Grids her teeth* (Dammit!) *Continues to rip the vines*

???: “Your efforts are futile…”

That damned voice again, but something’s different. There was no whisper in the head and the voice is loud and solid. She’s near, but where is she?

???: “…when you had already wished for her demise.”

Suigintou: “There!”

Suigintou threw a few of her feathers to the shadow. Immediately something moved out of the way, dodging the feathers. The figure stood firmly in front of her attacker.

???: “I’m impressed that you found me.”

Barasuishou? No, she looked different from that fake. The unknown doll bowed, showing off her smile to the one who she had admired ever since she first opened her eye.

Kirakishou: “At last we meet, my beloved Onee-sama. I am Kirakishou, 7th doll of Rozen.”

For some reason Suigintou felt something is familiar about her but she had no time for that, her medium’s life is in danger.

Suigintou: *anger* “Is this your doing?”

No answer from Kirakishou.

Suigintou: “Answer me!”

Still no answer, instead she just flew pass her and out of the window, which angers the winged doll even more.

Suigintou: “You’re not getting away!” *Flew off the window and chase Kirakishou!*

The two dolls were now outside the hospital, with Suigintou chasing Kirakishou. Kirakishou smiled as she saw her sister took the bait and launch a vine towards Suigintou, who narrowly dodged the attack. Kirakishou suddenly appear behind her and used the vine as whip but Suigintou had already anticipated it and managed to dodge and repelled Kirakishou with a feather barrage.

Kirakishou: “Not bad, but can you keep up with this?” *hurls lots of vines at Suigintou*

Suigintou manage to either dodged or deflected them one by one. As the attack continued, the vines became faster and Kirakishou releases more vines at her sister. It didn’t take long before Suigintou starting to feel a toll in her body and could felt that her clothes were cut a few times, some vines were even lucky scrape her porcelain skin. Then the vines retreated back to Kirakishou, exhaustion can be seen in Suigintou.

Suigintou: *huff…puff*

Kirakishou: “I see that this is your limit.” *shook her head* “I’m deeply sadden that the weakling had weaken you so much.”

Suigintou: *Glares at Kirakishou* “What?”

Kirakishou: “But not to worry my beloved Onee-sama. In less than 10 minutes my lovely toys drain every last drop of her life, she will be the least of your worry. I’m glad I could fulfill you desire, my beloved Onee-sama.” *evil giggles*

Suigintou could believe what she’s hearing, all the haunting, all nightmares, all suffering Suigintou had to go through because of her and now she goes around putting Megu’s life in danger. This is too much for her; she’s pissed, VERY pissed. A sudden urge to tear Kirakishou to shreds overtakes Suigintou and launched herself towards her object of hate.

Suigintou: “YOU BITCH!”

That word left a sharp sting in Kirakishou and her smile was washed away. The fact that she’s now hated by the doll she admired most cause something inside to bleed, but it was all according to plan, so it didn’t matter much. She forced a smile at her attacker and launcher her vine attack at Suigintou. The winged doll ripped the vines with ease with her hands and continues to rush at Kirakishou. She was getting close and closer.

Kirakishou: “That rage, that aggressiveness, that hate, how nostalgic.”

Suigintou: “DIE!” *Reach out her right hand towards Kirakishou but her hand was caught, Suigintou and Kirakishou were now face to face*

Kirakishou: “However that alone isn’t enough to defeat me.”

Suigintou: “Nani?”

Kirakishou: “You’ll have to use her if you want to destroy me.” *Use her vines to whip Suigintou, repelling her*

Suigintou: “Ugh!”

Use her? Is Kirakishou talking about Megu? True, using Megu to power herself up will give Suigintou the upper hand but given her medium’s situation at the moment, using Megu now will definitely kill her. Kirakishou was disappointed when she saw Suigintou from burst of rage became hesitation in a matter of seconds. A costly hesitation as the vines caught Suigintou by the hands and legs, she couldn’t move no matter how hard she tried.

Suigintou: “Argh, dammit!” *struggles*

Kirakishou: “My beloved Onee-sama, can’t you see? Your attachment towards that human only weakens you.”

Suigintou: *Glares at Kirakishou* “Shut up!”

Kirakishou: “Don’t you want to destroy me to the point where it’s impossible for Otou-sama to repair? You have no choice to use the human…just like you in the past, where you’ll use them to meet your end until their last breath”

Suigintou: “I rather be junked than to become your twisted fantasy!”

Kirakishou lost all reason to smile as she sighed in disappointed and sadness, she was now left with no other choice.

Kirakishou: “You sadden me with your words.” *Readied her vine whip* “It pains me to do this but you left me with no choice. You’ll forever live in my heart.”

Suigintou: “!”

Kirakishou: “Goodbye, my beloved Onee-sama.” *Launch a vine aiming towards Suigintou’s chest*

As Suigintou steeled herself for the inevitable, something deflected the vine and missed Suigintou’s body by millimeters. Kirakishou was surprised and then felt a hard hit at the body. A bright violent glow stood in the 7th doll’s way, Suigintou immediately recognize it as her guardian spirit whom she thought she lost after the defeat against Shinku.

Suigintou: “Mei-mei?”

Meanwhile Megu managed to open her eyes, but her visions are getting blurred and darken, her time is running out. However it’s clear enough for her to look out of the window to see Suigintou being tied up by vines and also another doll being attacked by a violet ball of light. The unknown doll knocked the ball away with a vine and was about to use it at Suigintou.

Megu: “No!”

Megu’s ring began to glow.

Suigintou suddenly felt a surge of energy all over her body. She broke the vines that bind her and dodge the whip in the nick of time.

Kirakishou: “Nani?”

Kirakishou didn’t have time to react as Suigintou rushed to her and gave a hard right punch to her face. It was then Kirakishou realized what happened and giggle menacingly.

Suigintou: “What’s so funny?”

Kirakishou: “I’m glad, my beloved Onee-chan.”

Suigintou: “Nani?”

Kirakishou: “My beloved Onee-chan I once loved had returned.”

Suigintou: *Shocked at Kirakishou’s words* “!”

Suigintou quickly turned away from Kirakishou and quickly flew to the ward, with Mei-mei following her. Kirakishou watched Suigintou panicky retreat and gave a psychotic smile

Kirakishou: “We will meet again, my beloved Onee-chan.”

The 7th doll disappeared from sight, as she had other *playmates* to attend to soon at the closed down shop near by.

Suigintou made it back to Megu’s ward and was on the bed beside the girl, she was motionless and she sensed no heartbeat in her, she was too late. Kakizaki Megu, medium of the 1st doll of the Rozen Maiden, was dead. Tears began to roll down from the doll’s eyes like waterfall and could felt nothing but overwhelming saddness.

Suigintou: “Me…gu…” *cries* “Megu…you fool…” *cries harder* “…You fool!” *Looks up to the ceiling* “Otou-sama, please save her. I’ll do anything, but please, save Megu…”

‘Even if it means trading your Rozen Mystical?’

Suigintou: “?!”

A voice, but it’s not a villainous female voice that is Kirakishou’s. A male, sounded like in its 60’s. But she didn’t care about and gave an answer without even thinking.

Suigintou: “Yes!”

‘If you trade your Rozen Mystical for the girl’s life, it only gives her an hour to live. After that you can never get your Rozen Mystical back, would you still do it?’

Suigintou was surprise by the reply it gave her, but it didn’t matter to her anymore. Next Rozen, Megu was the most important person to her even though she would never ever show it.

Suigintou: “If it’s Otou-sama’s will, then yes! I will sacrifice my Rozen Mystical for her!”

‘Then so be it.’

Suigintou began to glow in a purple light which soon became brighter and brighter until the light cover the whole ward. The light then turned from violet to gold, Suigintou felt she was getting lighter and losing conscious, the last thing she her heard was…

“Suigintou…help…”

The sleeping Suigintou’s eyes shot open hearing Megu’s weak cry of help.

Suigintou: (Megu!)

Suigintou immediately jumped into the room and found her unconscious medium covered in vines, which are draining the life out of her. Suigintou quickly ripped the vines off with her bare hands, only to see that they grew back in an instant.

Suigintou: *Grids her teeth* (Dammit!) *Continues to rip the vines*

???: “Your efforts are futile…”

That damned voice again, but something’s different. There was no whisper in the head and the voice is loud and solid. She’s near, but where is she?

???: “…when you had already wished for her demise.”

Suigintou: “There!”

Suigintou threw a few of her feathers to the shadow. Immediately something moved out of the way, dodging the feathers. The figure stood firmly in front of her attacker.

???: “I’m impressed that you found me.”

Barasuishou? No, she looked different from that fake. The unknown doll bowed, showing off her smile to the one who she had admired ever since she first opened her eye.

Kirakishou: “At last we meet, my beloved Onee-sama. I am Kirakishou, 7th doll of Rozen.”

For some reason Suigintou felt something is familiar about her but she had no time for that, her medium’s life is in danger.

Suigintou: *anger* “Is this your doing?”

No answer from Kirakishou.

Suigintou: “Answer me!”

Still no answer, instead she just flew pass her and out of the window, which angers the winged doll even more.

Suigintou: “You’re not getting away!” *Flew off the window and chase Kirakishou!*

The two dolls were now outside the hospital, with Suigintou chasing Kirakishou. Kirakishou smiled as she saw her sister took the bait and launch a vine towards Suigintou, who narrowly dodged the attack. Kirakishou suddenly appear behind her and used the vine as whip but Suigintou had already anticipated it and managed to dodge and repelled Kirakishou with a feather barrage.

Kirakishou: “Not bad, but can you keep up with this?” *hurls lots of vines at Suigintou*

Suigintou manage to either dodged or deflected them one by one. As the attack continued, the vines became faster and Kirakishou releases more vines at her sister. It didn’t take long before Suigintou starting to feel a toll in her body and could felt that her clothes were cut a few times, some vines were even lucky scrape her porcelain skin. Then the vines retreated back to Kirakishou, exhaustion can be seen in Suigintou.

Suigintou: *huff…puff*

Kirakishou: “I see that this is your limit.” *shook her head* “I’m deeply sadden that the weakling had weaken you so much.”

Suigintou: *Glares at Kirakishou* “What?”

Kirakishou: “But not to worry my beloved Onee-sama. In less than 10 minutes my lovely toys drain every last drop of her life, she will be the least of your worry. I’m glad I could fulfill you desire, my beloved Onee-sama.” *evil giggles*

Suigintou could believe what she’s hearing, all the haunting, all nightmares, all suffering Suigintou had to go through because of her and now she goes around putting Megu’s life in danger. This is too much for her; she’s pissed, VERY pissed. A sudden urge to tear Kirakishou to shreds overtakes Suigintou and launched herself towards her object of hate.

Suigintou: “YOU BITCH!”

That word left a sharp sting in Kirakishou and her smile was washed away. The fact that she’s now hated by the doll she admired most cause something inside to bleed, but it was all according to plan, so it didn’t matter much. She forced a smile at her attacker and launcher her vine attack at Suigintou. The winged doll ripped the vines with ease with her hands and continues to rush at Kirakishou. She was getting close and closer.

Kirakishou: “That rage, that aggressiveness, that hate, how nostalgic.”

Suigintou: “DIE!” *Reach out her right hand towards Kirakishou but her hand was caught, Suigintou and Kirakishou were now face to face*

Kirakishou: “However that alone isn’t enough to defeat me.”

Suigintou: “Nani?”

Kirakishou: “You’ll have to use her if you want to destroy me.” *Use her vines to whip Suigintou, repelling her*

Suigintou: “Ugh!”

Use her? Is Kirakishou talking about Megu? True, using Megu to power herself up will give Suigintou the upper hand but given her medium’s situation at the moment, using Megu now will definitely kill her. Kirakishou was disappointed when she saw Suigintou from burst of rage became hesitation in a matter of seconds. A costly hesitation as the vines caught Suigintou by the hands and legs, she couldn’t move no matter how hard she tried.

Suigintou: “Argh, dammit!” *struggles*

Kirakishou: “My beloved Onee-sama, can’t you see? Your attachment towards that human only weakens you.”

Suigintou: *Glares at Kirakishou* “Shut up!”

Kirakishou: “Don’t you want to destroy me to the point where it’s impossible for Otou-sama to repair? You have no choice to use the human…just like you in the past, where you’ll use them to meet your end until their last breath”

Suigintou: “I rather be junked than to become your twisted fantasy!”

Kirakishou lost all reason to smile as she sighed in disappointed and sadness, she was now left with no other choice.

Kirakishou: “You sadden me with your words.” *Readied her vine whip* “It pains me to do this but you left me with no choice. You’ll forever live in my heart.”

Suigintou: “!”

Kirakishou: “Goodbye, my beloved Onee-sama.” *Launch a vine aiming towards Suigintou’s chest*

As Suigintou steeled herself for the inevitable, something deflected the vine and missed Suigintou’s body by millimeters. Kirakishou was surprised and then felt a hard hit at the body. A bright violent glow stood in the 7th doll’s way, Suigintou immediately recognize it as her guardian spirit whom she thought she lost after the defeat against Shinku.

Suigintou: “Mei-mei?”

Meanwhile Megu managed to open her eyes, but her visions are getting blurred and darken, her time is running out. However it’s clear enough for her to look out of the window to see Suigintou being tied up by vines and also another doll being attacked by a violet ball of light. The unknown doll knocked the ball away with a vine and was about to use it at Suigintou.

Megu: “No!”

Megu’s ring began to glow.

Suigintou suddenly felt a surge of energy all over her body. She broke the vines that bind her and dodge the whip in the nick of time.

Kirakishou: “Nani?”

Kirakishou didn’t have time to react as Suigintou rushed to her and gave a hard right punch to her face. It was then Kirakishou realized what happened and giggle menacingly.

Suigintou: “What’s so funny?”

Kirakishou: “I’m glad, my beloved Onee-chan.”

Suigintou: “Nani?”

Kirakishou: “My beloved Onee-chan I once loved had returned.”

Suigintou: *Shocked at Kirakishou’s words* “!”

Suigintou quickly turned away from Kirakishou and quickly flew to the ward, with Mei-mei following her. Kirakishou watched Suigintou panicky retreat and gave a psychotic smile

Kirakishou: “We will meet again, my beloved Onee-chan.”

The 7th doll disappeared from sight, as she had other *playmates* to attend to soon at the closed down shop near by.

Suigintou made it back to Megu’s ward and was on the bed beside the girl, she was motionless and she sensed no heartbeat in her, she was too late. Kakizaki Megu, medium of the 1st doll of the Rozen Maiden, was dead. Tears began to roll down from the doll’s eyes like waterfall and could felt nothing but overwhelming saddness.

Suigintou: “Me…gu…” *cries* “Megu…you fool…” *cries harder* “…You fool!” *Looks up to the ceiling* “Otou-sama, please save her. I’ll do anything, but please, save Megu…”

‘Even if it means trading your Rozen Mystical?’

Suigintou: “?!”

A voice, but it’s not a villainous female voice that is Kirakishou’s. A male, sounded like in its 60’s. But she didn’t care about and gave an answer without even thinking.

Suigintou: “Yes!”

‘If you trade your Rozen Mystical for the girl’s life, it only gives her an hour to live. After that you can never get your Rozen Mystical back, would you still do it?’

Suigintou was surprise by the reply it gave her, but it didn’t matter to her anymore. Next Rozen, Megu was the most important person to her even though she would never ever show it.

Suigintou: “If it’s Otou-sama’s will, then yes! I will sacrifice my Rozen Mystical for her!”

‘Then so be it.’

Suigintou began to glow in a purple light which soon became brighter and brighter until the light cover the whole ward. The light then turned from violet to gold, Suigintou felt she was getting lighter and losing conscious, the last thing she her heard was…

‘Becoming Alice is closer than you think.’

Well, haven been posting on here lately. So RM-FAN made me read Flo's chapter 7 and I'm extremely impressed. I like the way the fight scene played out, very well thought out and I could really see it happening in Anime; plus, with Megu dying I liked that emo bit very much.

Oh in other news, went to Sunshine Plaza yesterday (was tired after coming from Chinatown so didnt go Kino :heh:), bought TP's Rozen Maiden Vol 1 for 10 bucks, the guy didnt have vol 2, but he said he'll be getting a shipment this Thursday, so I'll try going down again on Friday. Anyhow, I noticed that the tea Shinku drinks may very well be Darjeeling. :heh:

This time, however, she found herself in a rather small house made of wood. It could easily have been considered a log cabin, complete with open fireplace burning in the corner. Momentarily deviating from her course of action, Suigintou picked up one of the hundreds of leather bound books which were strewn about the room.

Not surprisingly, it was about doll-making. ‘He even dreams about this kind of thing… He’s so stubborn.’ As she ventured through the room’s only door, though, her mouth parted slightly as she gasped. Hanging all over the next room were tens, or maybe even hundreds, of porcelain doll torsos. The room was overflowing with the creations. Suigintou crossed her arms and tried to suppress the emotional reaction inside her. As she quickly ran through the room, several of them fell off their strings and smashed into the ground. The moment the first Sister exited the door, she spread her wings and flew away from the cabin as quickly as she could. “Idiot…” was all she could manage to say.

The bitterly cold air and light snowfall immediately alerted Suigintou. His mind was becoming dormant, which meant he was very close to breaking. As the terrain switched from forest to a large group of buildings, she tried to maintain a good speed. Her inner power still hadn’t recovered from fighting against Barasuishou. Just as she spotted Tsugumi on the ground in the distance, a huge rose bush sprung up from below her. Suigintou became entangled in its vines before she could even begin to react. Whether this was due to her fatigue or the immense speed of the enemy, she wasn’t sure.

“Onee-sama, you’re finally here!” a voice happily exclaimed. Suigintou strained to find the source of the voice, but she was unable to do so. “What’s wrong? Are my vines holding on too tightly?” The pressure suddenly increased on Suigintou’s body, forcing the breath out of her. “Does it hurt, onee-sama?” the voice asked playfully.

“S-show yourself!” Suigintou yelled through gritted teeth. A white doll slowly floated down from above her. Suigintou was taken aback- this doll was dressed identically to Barasuishou, except for the color. Her hair seemed to be a purer white and was held back by white roses. A white rose also covered her right eye, but as the strange doll leaned in closer to her, Suigintou couldn’t see any kind of strap holding it onto her face. This white newcomer seemed to wear a constant smile, unlike the stoic Barasuishou. Still, there was something evil about her smile- something Suigintou didn’t recognize but knew well. “Who are you?!”

“Why, I am Kirakishou, the seventh doll of the Rozen Maiden and your youngest sister!” the white doll giggled, putting a finger under Suigintou’s chin. “I thought you might come here once you realized that your Medium was here. Pitifully easy to break, these humans are. Thankfully all my planning bore fruit! Here I am, face to face with you!”

“If you’re so happy to see me, why don’t you let me go?” Suigintou asked, trying to play Kirakishou’s nice game. The doll wagged a finger at her as she put a few feet of distance between them.

“Ah ah ah, I don’t think so! Now that I’ve captured you, you’re going to stay here forever and ever with Kirakishou,” the Seventh explained with a carefree laugh.

Laplace’s words suddenly came back to Suigintou. ‘So, Barasuishou and Kirakishou… which one is the true Seventh and which is the fake? Better yet, how the hell am I going to get myself out of this mess?’ She was too weak to struggle anymore against the vines. “Why do we have to stay here, in Tsugumi’s dream world? Why don’t you come with me to the outside and-“

“Never!” Kirakishou suddenly yelled, pulling away from her sister.

‘Oh, so she can get angry too, hm?’ “Why not? It’s cold here. Don’t you want to spend our days together under the sun?”

“We’ll leave when I’m ready to leave,” was the cold response. “I still have some fun games to play with that human before I break him. I want you to watch, onee-sama, as I get rid of that ignorant thorn in your side.”

“Why did you attack him?!” Suigintou abruptly raged, finished playing with this strange Sister. “If you wanted to get to me, all you had to do was wait in my n-Field! To do things in such a roundabout way… It’s unsightly of my youngest sister! You should know better than to involve a human in your game!” she chastised, causing Kirakishou to look a little guilty.

Suigintou felt the vines slowly begin to loosen as Kirakishou lowered her head. Then, out of nowhere, a blast of red rose pedals collided with the white doll. She was caught completely off-guard and was thrown to the ground far below. “Shinku!” Suigintou exclaimed in surprise. A quick slicing sound came from below her position, and the vines immediately disappeared. “Souseiseki! Suiseiseki, Hina-ichigo and the human…” All of them floated around her. “I told you not to follow me,” she said, quickly regressing back to her usual self.

“Maybe you should follow your own advice ~desu, about humans,” Suiseiseki noted as she looked down on the fallen stranger.

“I think a ‘thank you’ is in order,” Souseiseki stated in a low tone as she floated by. “Just who is that doll down there?” Suigintou looked down. The white doll remained still where she had fallen.

“Kirakishou. She claimed to be the Seventh, but so did that Barasuishou,” she explained. “They look almost identical.”

“This is all quite confusing,” Shinku admitted as she floated towards Suigintou. They met eye-to-eye peacefully for the first time in many years. “Oh, and you didn’t say we couldn’t follow you. You said ‘you don’t have to help.’ That is, unless my memory is fading.” The sweet smile on Shinku’s face was something Suigintou hadn’t seen in person since…

“Yes, it must be your memory,” the first Sister responded. “Now, if you all don’t mind, I have a Rosa Mystica to take.” Suigintou spread her wings and descended towards Kirakishou.

“Um… Wasn’t she so driven earlier to rescue Tsugumi-san?” a confused Jun asked. Shinku sighed loudly.

“I suppose it cannot be helped. I had hoped that she may change her ways, now that she has a Medium, but… Old habits die hard, it seems,” she said with a twinge of sorrow. “Suiseiseki, take Jun and Tsugumi. All of you return to the real world immediately. Take Hina-ichigo with you as well.”

“Shinku…” Jun said, voicing his concern.

“Don’t worry. Suigintou still has Lempicka. It would serve her no purpose to leave us in Tsugumi’s dream world, so don’t worry,” she replied smoothly. “We cannot be sure of this other doll’s power. I want to have a look for myself.”

“Perhaps we can figure out of she is the real Seventh doll of the Rozen Maiden,” added Souseiseki.

As the two dolls and the Medium flew towards Tsugumi’s position, Suigintou was on the ground below. She was crouched above the fallen Kirakishou, who still seemed to be very dazed. All was silent as Suigintou analyzed the situation. Something was definitely wrong; if Kirakishou truly had been beaten, her Rosa Mystica would have been expelled from her body. That wasn’t the case…

Kirakishou’s yellow eye snapped open, and she immediately smiled upon realizing that Suigintou was holding her down. “Ah, onee-sama! Thank goodness it was you!” Suigintou narrowed her eyes, slowly removing herself from Kirakishou’s abdomen. Kirakishou grabbed onto her outstretched hand and was pulled up, her face full of absolute joy. The black-clothed doll gently brushed off her counterpart. “Onee-sama is helping me… Onee-sama loves me!”

“Yes, that’s right,” Suigintou responded. Her influence over this Sister was painfully obvious. Anyone who knew the doll would know that such words held no meaning, but to suppress Kirakishou’s attacks… It was worth the embarrassment. ‘I’m in no condition to be fighting such a worthy opponent right now. All I can do is hinder the inevitable, but if that saves Tsugumi…’ In the corner of her eye she saw Shinku’s Medium pull Tsugumi off the ground. “Now, little sister, I have an interesting little bit of information for you.”

Kirakishou latched onto Suigintou’s arm. “Really? Tell me! I really want to know!” Suigintou grinned maliciously.

“There is another doll claiming to be the Seventh.” Kirakishou released her arm and pushed herself closer to Suigintou.

“No, that’s a lie, onee-sama! That other doll is a liar!”

“Oh, really? Now little sister, I’m trusting you. If we leave here, I’ll show you where this liar is. Are you interested?” Kirakishou nodded furiously.

“I am! I’ll show that you can trust me. You can trust Kirakishou, not that lying other doll! And besides, that’s a good reason for me to leave your pitiful human Medium alone. I’m not some kind of fool, onee-sama… If you’re lying to me, though, and there isn’t an imposter…” Kirakishou’s face twisted into that of a true psychopath. Wide-eyed, she stared at Suigintou from a distance of no more than half a meter. In the skies above, Shinku and Souseiseki readied their attacks.

“I know,” Suigintou stated firmly. “Why did you think I was so tired when you found me here? The other doll, the ‘imposter’, had appeared in my n-Field. Since you’d subdued my Medium, her influence over my Field was stronger than I expected.”

“The imposter… hurt onee-sama?”

“No.”

“So, if I… kill her… Onee-sama will be indebted to me… and… my body will…” Suigintou waited a few moments as Kirakishou’s face returned to its prior sweetness. “Fine. Lead me to this imposter, and your Medium will no longer be my target. I’ll… even if he’s a human, I’ll treat him like I treat Onee-sama…” The first doll was suspicious of her willingness to cooperate. “Those two sisters in the sky… What about them?”

“If you’d like, they can leave. However, they… will help me find the imposter for you,” Suigintou responded, thinking quickly. Kirakishou shrugged. “Then it’s OK.”

As the four dolls filed out through Lempicka’s open door, Jun, Suiseiseki and Hina-ichigo had reached Tsugumi’s position. Jun looked down on this senior, unsure of his course of action. Suiseiseki, though, didn’t hold back as she began slapping the young man’s face rather roughly. “Your usual violent methods…” Jun said, annoyed. She stopped after a bit.

“Chibi human, he isn’t waking up!” she exclaimed.

“Jun, what should we do ~na no?” a worried Hina-ichigo asked. “Even if he’s Suigintou’s Medium, he’s not really a bad person. Shinku even said so…”

“I know,” Jun responded. “Suiseiseki, can we just take him out of his dream without waking him up? Would he be OK in the real world?” Having previous experience in visiting one’s own dream, Jun sympathized with his colleague.

“I’m not sure… I’ve never encountered a human who was so close to breaking before ~desu… To be honest I’m surprised he’s still alive. The state of his dream world is so strange, as if it’s being held together by his subconscious will,” she quietly explained. “We don’t have any time to waste ~desu. If he won’t wake up here, we have to get him out anyway. He’ll die if we don’t.”

Jun, through Tsugumi’s unconscious thought or by the odd properties of a human dream, was able to carry Tsugumi’s relatively huge body over his shoulder. As the party carried his dream body through the portal, Tsugumi’s physical body faded away, melding with its missing counterpart. On the other side of Jade Dream’s door was (what everyone assumed to be) Tsugumi’s apartment. To Jun’s mild shock, the room was relatively normal-looking. A bit sparsely decorated, with the only furniture being a bed, desk, and small table, it was a very small apartment.

‘He lives on his own though, right? He had some fight with his parents, according to Tomoe, and moved out on his own. Even so, it must be rough living alone at such an age. It would be different to have a full-time job or be a university student, but he’s neither. Living alone, with no real human contact… almost the same as me,’ Jun thought as he bent over the bed, letting gravity to the rest of the work.

“Now who’s being violent ~desu?” Suiseiseki screeched.

“You ill-mannered doll, shut up! What if he’s brain damaged or something?” She shrugged nonchalantly. “Jeez, you really are heartless… I wouldn’t be able to live with that on my conscience…”

“What conscience?” Suiseiseki whispered as she rummaged through the kitchen’s cabinets.

“What are you doing?” Hina asked, tugging on Suiseiseki’s dress.

“Looking for some tea, now stop that before it tears ~desu!” Hina-ichigo pouted a little and walked towards the stricken Tsugumi. “Great, all that scary human has is green tea. Not one black tea at all!”

“Maybe Suigintou prefers green tea,” Jun thought out loud.

“Hey, hey, Jun… He’s Tomoe’s big brother, right?” Hina-ichigo asked. Jun nodded.

“I played with him a bit when we were younger, but he was always quiet and kept his thoughts to himself. Honestly, I looked up to him,” he reminisced. “I guess it’s because my father was always overseas on business… Tsugumi was kind of like a big brother to me back then. He wasn’t too much older, but there was a four year gap between us… I don’t know, but I feel like I should stay here until he wakes up.” Hina nodded in agreement.

“If we called Tomoe, maybe she could wake him up!” she exclaimed. Jun shook his head, much to her disappointment. “Why not?”

“She has enough to worry about- the end of the first term is pretty close. Besides… If damage has been done, I don’t want her to see it…”

“You mean you don’t want her to know it was your fault?” The voice alerted everyone. The room’s mirror glowed brightly, and Suigintou stepped through soon after. “If anything is wrong with him… If I’m stuck with a broken Medium, you will be the one who pays, human,” she stated, her voice dead serious.

Jun realized then just how much Suigintou cared for Tsugumi. He nodded slowly. “I know… So what happened with that other doll?”

“Where Souseiseki and Shinku?!” stormed Suiseiseki before a single black feather, which whizzed mere centimeters from her face, silenced her.

“They’re back at your happy home,” Suiseiseki sneered. “As for little Kirakishou, we learned something interesting. I’m sure Shinku will tell you all about it. In any case you will all leave, now. Your mental contamination is what’s causing Tsugumi to remain unconscious.”

“Contamination?” Jun questioned. Suigintou sighed angrily.

“Tsk, are you all so thick-headed?! There wasn’t any contamination between these dolls and you, human, because you are very close to each other. Now, none of you are close to Tsugumi at all, correct? All of you appearing in his dream world was disruptive to the state he was in, since his dreams of you are virtually nonexistent. Are you beginning to get the idea?” she asked, exasperated.

“I think so…” Jun responded.

“So leave!” boomed Suigintou. “You have a lot of thinking to do. Little Shinku seemed very upset when she learned the truth about that doll, plus the fact that there is another doll who is the same type as us, who probably was not made by Father.”

“Alright. Hina-ichigo, Suiseiseki… let’s go,” Jun said, giving up on the hopes he had of staying near Tsugumi. After the three of them had left and the mirror gone silent, Suigintou finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“My… They are all so unbelievably dense…” A great deal of tension was holed up inside the doll’s tired body. She turned and looked at Tsugumi’s unmoving body. His deep, slow breathing was the only sign of his life. His eyes, still open, stared blankly at the ceiling.

Suigintou sat down on the edge of his futon, near his legs. She tried to enjoy the peace and quiet she deserved, but her Medium’s condition was too much of a distraction. ‘Is this some kind of side effect of the Contract or my true feelings?’ she pondered. ‘Either way I wouldn’t be surprised. What Shinku said after we lost Kirakishou may be true… The appearance of not one, but two Maestros… Surely, that is a sign from Father that he wishes for the Alice Game to begin, right? Why am I even questioning such a thing? Father’s will is for his creations, Rozen Maiden, to play through the Alice Game until there is but one doll left, with all the pieces of the true Rosa Mystica together at last. He only wishes for Alice to be born; he will only see Alice.’

“So I must become Alice, so Father will see me,” she whispered.

“I… couldn’t… sorry…” The voice of her Medium snapped Suigintou’s mind back to reality.

“Tsugumi! Are you awake?” His eyes still stared ahead in the same way. He was stuck somewhere between his dream and reality.

“You’re right… I… Tsugumi… I’m junk…” Her eyes widened as he muttered the word she hated so much. “I… I don’t have any goals… Because I’m comfortable as I am now, I don’t feel the need to move forward… I’m not as strong as I pretend to be…” He coughed suddenly, blood spattering over his face. Slowly, small open wounds were beginning to open all over his body. Suigintou realized that his sheets were already stained with blood.

“Tsugumi, what happened? Why are you…?”

“I’m a human…I’m weak… Maybe it would be better for you… if I wasn’t around,” he continued, oblivious to the fact that he was bleeding out quite a bit of blood. “Yes, if I die, things would be easier for everyone…”

“You idiot, don’t mutter such things in your sleep,” she whispered, the faintest hints of tears forming in her eyes.

“But I’m not asleep… or am I…?”

“Just don’t die!” she yelled as her throat began to tighten. Tsugumi bolted into a sitting position; those words had triggered some buried memory from his past. His vision was completely white and his head felt dizzy, which slowly faded back to normal as a decent amount of blood was pumped into his brain. He looked down on his arms and the many small punctures draining blood. “T-… Tsugumi?” He slowly gazed up at Suigintou and felt a twinge of sadness in the back of his mind. Her face, usually so cold and confident, looked like it was on the verge of tears.

“Did… I… What happened? I… There was another doll in the mirror… then…” Slowly regaining all of his brain functions, Tsugumi realized that Suigintou’s dress was dirtied and torn. Her headband was also missing. Without the decoration, she somehow looked more human to him. “I’m sorry… It seems like I wasn’t there when you needed me…”

“Don’t say such idiotic things… What if I was worried!” The doll leaned forwards towards him, placing a hand on his right leg for support. Something was odd, though. Her Medium’s eyes quickly widened as she put more pressure on the leg. She felt no heat from the appendage, and it seemed completely hard. Human tissue was supposed to be warm and soft, right?

He averted his eyes from her questioning gaze, a regretful smile on his pained face. “So… now you see… You thought I was being metaphorical when I said that I’m junk…” he whispered. His hands began to shake uncontrollably. “I wasn’t. I… I’m a broken human already. That’s why… I’m not suitable to be your Medium, with this incomplete body…”

Suigintou blinked in confusion as he reached down towards his feet. Only then did she realize that the lower part of his left pant-leg had not one blood stain on it. He pulled the pant-leg up to his knee, revealing a skin-colored prosthetic. “See? I’d tried my best to keep this hidden, not only from you but from everyone…”

“I… I don’t understand…”

“Your Father left you unfinished, correct?” he asked, having regained most of his mental faculties. “My parents… I was in an accident when I was young and broke this leg. Something happened when they reset the bone, and it became infected. I ended up having to get it amputated… My parents sued the hospital and won a great deal of money from the legal proceedings. But instead of getting one of the robotic limbs which were offered to them, they chose to get me a simple plastic prosthetic leg, despite the fact that they had made so much money because of my misfortune. During my junior high years I refused to use it; I was confined to a wheelchair. When I finally did use the leg to make my parents happy, I was ridiculed by my classmates because I had trouble walking. I was able to master the thing eventually, but that stigma stayed with me all through secondary school. I couldn’t play any sports or participate in P.E.

“I try so hard to mask it, but in the end you found out anyway. I guess in a way, we’re similar. Both of us suffered needlessly because of our creators, because of some imperfection. Don’t you think so?” Suigintou’s face produced a small, sad smile.

“Not particularly.”

In a bright field of grass, Kirakishou shielded her eyes from the warm sun. She stared off into the distance, towards the mansion across the field. ‘Even though Onee-sama abandoned me, her information was correct. The imposter… and her Master- both of them will become food for my roses. What is the saying… Pushing up roses?’ The white doll smiled maliciously, slowly floating towards her counterpart.

In that same mansion, Barasuishou stood next to her Father. As he did in his free time, he was making dolls. Barasuishou felt a glimmer of jealousy. Perhaps she would have taken action if she only understood that emotion. All she really understood was happiness- her Father’s happiness. Laplace’s Demon suddenly stepped into the small room. “Sorry to bother you, but you have company.”

Moments later the trio stood on a rather large balcony. Enju stared over the rolling meadow in horror. “No, that can’t be! How… How did she find this field? Demon!” he stormed, assuming that the rabbit had double-crossed him. The abstract being held up a hand.

“Not I. Kirakishou was led part-way here by the first Rozen Maiden and found the rest of the way herself. It isn’t unheard of- all of these types of dolls can sense each other’s presence. Rozen’s final creation would no doubt be the best at such an ability,” he explained.

“Damnit!” Enju stared down at Barasuishou’s blank face. Was she ready to fight the doll she’d been designed from? ‘Of course… She’s more than a copy. If she beats that cursed doll, it will simply be another proof that I am greater than that fool Rozen!’ “Barasuishou, intercept and destroy that doll. She is your enemy- take her Rosa Mystica at all costs!”

The doll nodded. “Yes, Father.”

Hi. I've been watching this thread in a couple of weeks now, but I haven't had anything to add or ask, so this is the first time I write ^^

Now i have a theory, that i would like to share with you. I'm not sure if you have talked about this earlier, because it's actually pretty obvious if you think about it... I live in Denmark, pretty close to Germany. That means I had German i school, and i understand and speak the language. The word "Oubertüre" means "overgang" in danish, and if i had to translate that into english, it would be somting like "a link from one thing to another", or "a passage". So it seems to me, that this one episode OVA, is just a link from the earlier seasons, to a comming one.

I was wondering, if you have had some information, that i haven't got, or if you simply haven't thought about the OVA's name yet..?

'Overture' in English, as with 'ouverture' in French, means 'opening'. It's a piece of music that precedes such theatrical pieces as an opera. I'm 99% certain that the OVA is going to be entirely set before the events of Rozen Maiden.
It means the same in German - Ouvertüre.
And since Rozen Maiden was quite german-influenced (Träumend, episode titles, words in the Ending theme), I guess it's supposed to mean exactly that in Romanization.
I hope it's clear now..

It seems to be a one episode prequel. Prequel to what I'm not too sure. Most probably S1/S2, before the Anime happened. I'm also hoping it will also be a prelude to S3.

If they dont make a 3rd series, than theres no point in introducing the 7th doll right? they could just end it at that. But instead they show the rabbit taking away the Rosa Mysteria and the 7th maiden. I havent read the manga yet (would soon), but if i just finish the second season, i would be very confuse with how the ending has ended and would want a 3rd season to explain what happens after. :heh:

Oki, I am away for a few days and I come back to find Solwy posting the full page of the ~Ouberture~ preview :D
Things just couldn't be better :)

In this page we see more screencaps from the OVA.., Gin holding her sword on one, smiling on another :), and we see also Shinku with her hair down on one, and Sou, Sei, Kana & Hina on others too.

Something that.., I wasn't expecting, but now it realy comes to confirm that this OVA will most probably show us the events that toke place with all the Rozen Maiden prior to Rozen Maiden ~Season 1~.
This meaning.., hopefully we will see the moment in which Shinku & Gin drifted apart, amongst others :)

So many possibilities now, all the Rozen Maiden prior to Season 1.., whatever will happen in this prelude.., I am more and more without a doubt.., it will be simply... amazing..

And much like everyone said already aswell.. this is also just more evidence that the artwork will be..., beyond outstading.

hmmm.. I haven't seen the OP yet :sad: , so my assumptions where all made just on the screencaps of the Megami scan.
However.., if those screencaps exist, they exist for some reason right.. ;) , hence it wouldn't make sence for there to be a Shinku vs Gin battle screencap if the story would not walk towards that end of development.

Thus.., why I realy hope that the prelude will realy try its best to englobe as much aspects of what happened prior ~Season 1~ regarding the Rozen Maiden.., and well Gin in particular.., since we all that she will be the protagonist.

But well.., if we think about it a bit.., Gin's actions and motives where realy what drove ~Season 1~ in development.., hence.., if the prelude will show us something that is related to her pass along with the other Rozen Maiden.., it is only natural that she ( because of what we already know what happened ) will require alot of focus on the storyline.

hmmm.. See above the screen caps of Sui/Sou and Kana/Hina, I'm preeettyy sure that the line of characters in red are announcing a new OP for the OVA. Thats because the first character is the same as the character in Chinese that means 'new'. So the Shinku vs. Gin battle/petals screen-cap may be in the OP.. Anyway you have a point there, now I'm divided. Thats why we need a translation, at least of the captions to the screencaps.

Looking from the caps, Suigintou was either fixed by Rozen or Enju(which may lend truth to what she said in Traumend 6) Also, it could be that it focuses on before Season 1 and after, as Kanaria is featured in one of the caps.

Okay, my Japanese is very poor, but I believe the "OP" line reads:
Shin OP ni wa Shinku tachi mo!

Which, I think, means something like:
During new OP group of which Shinku is member also!

In other words:
The other dolls appear in the new OP!

I may try to translate the text by the screen caps but hope someone more skillfull will beat me to it. Also I'm really lazy. So don't hold your breath.

I've just read the manga vol 3 and....

So Sou's master is not the old man who lost his son but an other old man who wants to kill the lady who took his twin away from him ? WFT ? :heh:
This story seems interesting but the Sou we saw in this volume is like the Traumed Sou. Doing things again her wish just because it's her duty. In S1 she sympatize with the "ji-ji"'s sadness and tried her best to help him but here.... It seems that Dolls can't disobey their medium's wishes... so why Shinku is spending her time slapping Jun ? :heh:

Anyways I'm not found of the manga like I am of the anime... but it's still intersting (since the stories are a bit different)

I think its the doll's decision. Sou-chan decides to do as her Medium decides, no matter what, as repayment for winding her. Why she is so devoted, is unknown. Souseiseki actually spends less time alive in the manga than in the anime.

Though I thought I remembered someone saying she comes back in Vol. 7? We'll find out in about a month. Hopefully I pre-ordered it early enough.

painting figures is much much harder than gundam. your going to have to sand them, then fill in the seems with putty, then sand them again, then prime them, then you can paint. i really suck at it. i have only got one figure to look like the picture. and then i couldnt paint the eyes i had to order some pre made sticker eyes lol.

technically, only suieseiseki and souseiseki should be able to enter the dream world. when suigintou had gotten hold of jade though, she was given the power to enter dreams.

i think the doll dream worlds are different than people dream worlds, they may be more like the N-fields.

Due to the sadness of the destiny she bears upon her back, our hearts will be affected all the more. As to what sort of existence she led, the stage is set long ago in 19th century Europe, when the Rozen Maidens had just met one another. To say it frankly, regarding the Rozen Maidens’ past… please pay attention to how their personalities and relationships were. You may be able to see aspects of Suigintou that noone has seen before.

So the storyline will in fact take place in the past.., and it will most importantly.., lead us to the reasons / events that lead to Gin's hatred for Shinku and all that then we witnessed develop on ~Season 1~

It will be interesting to see what more information we are given regarding Rozen.., and the "Rozen Maiden" in fact.., for as this will show us a much diferent set of attitudes & personalities on behalf of all of them.

Currently as we have seen through ~Season 1~ until the end of ~Traumend~, all of the Rozen Maiden grew in personality.., hence they're development having went to the conclusion we then witnessed.

According to the translation.., if we are going to see the moments when they first encountered each other.., naturaly they're entire prespectives will be alot diferent from what we know now.
Which will definitly give us an in-sight on how they became as they where when we first same them.. :)

This time the subtitle “Ouvertüre” has been attached, which in German musical jargon means “Prelude”

The N-Field is a section of space that is the domain of a Rozen Maiden, and contains elements that are characteristic to the doll it represents; sort of a reflection of the soul (but not a Dream World) as Shinku said it herself on Season 1 upon entering Gin's.

As we know, each Rozen Maiden possess her own N-Field.., and when inside this N-Field the owner has a certain advantage in power; advantage this.., which can only be overcomed if another Rozen Maiden resorts into using the power of a Medium.

However it seems the N-Field can only be accessed via some objects that have "fragments of life".., such as the old mirror in Jun's storage, altough once inside.. each Rozen Maiden can venture into any sections of the N-Field she willingly desires (such as Gin entering Shinku's on ~Traumend~, Shinku entering Hina's on ~Season 1~)

A Dream World now.., is not compleatly all that diferent..
Much like a N-Field.., it simply is a reflection or better, a Mirror of a Person's Soul, containing elements from old memories or representations of important items.

However, these worlds are all linked together in a Huge Tree; each world is a basicaly a "branch" in this Tree.., and the more closely related two people are, the closer their "branches" are.
Though the enterance to these "Dreams" can only be granted though using Sousei Seki's and Suisei Seki's Artificial Spirits.

Hence.., what I can conclude is.., what we saw when Gin walked up to Shinku while she was asleep on ~Traumend~, was a Shinku's N-Field and not a Dream World; this despite Shinku beeing asleep..

A Dream World seems to just be the pure designation to the Soul, in its current state.., for as we saw near the end of Season 1.., Jun willingly became to change his ;
as N-Field is a region of space in which the creator has placed the aspects of her Soul (on that said time) into it, baring the resemble to the creator's "spirit".

And as we saw.. there are countless N-Field's..
To what relates to the Rozen Maiden now.., since they Dolls after all..they do not exactly "dream", they're souls simply revert to they're own N-Field each time they go to sleep, where they re-live some "special" moments (which are already part of the Field) time and time again.

Hence, from all we saw on both Seasons.., it is safe to say that the only Dream World's that where accessed where Jun's, Sou's Master, and the wife of Sou's Master. The rest.., where all N-Fields.
I understand that it might be a bit hard for some to tell which is which.., but all you need is to pay attention to how they are accessed :)

Thanks for both - the definition of the dream world and the N-field and the scans!!w00t

So I suppose this N-Field is like a Stadium/Base for the respective dolls. Is impressive how each one is so unique and different. Base on how they look, both in season 1 and season 2, we can sort of give a good guess on each doll's personalities:

Hinaichigo - N-Field full of toys = cheerful,playful always:)

Shinku - N-Field with a mansion and having tea = calm, (the slient type). i.e book reading + watching kunkun w/o saying alot of phrases.

Despite these two, Gin's dream world is what catches my eye. As you can see, in season 1, Gin's world did not snow. But as in season 2,it snows. Does this mean, Gin's personality is getting *colder* or does this mean that her personality is changing to a good side?

Well in season 2 1st episode, they said that the snow is caused by Laplace.

Here's the first chapter!
N-Field, it is what is called the dream world. The Alice Game had left the N-field completely devastated. The creator known as Rozen created the Rozen Maiden dolls within the N-field. Each one was made different. Suigintou envied Shinku because she was Rozen’s favorite and initiated the Alice game against her. There were a lot of battles between them, even Shinku’s love/medium (Jun) became one with the N-field. Eventually Suigintou was defeated and was believed to be gone.

Luckily, the peace gave the N-field a chance to heal. But all is not well.

Chapter 1

Shinku decided that if there was to be peace, she would have to be far away from the others. She planted the special cane that Jun had given her, into the ground. “Good bye Jun.” The blonde doll flew off to find another desolate place to rest.

Meanwhile…

3 silver-haired dolls had arrived and found Shinku’s previous cane. Suigintou inspected the cane and knocked it over in a disrespectful way. The purple clad doll stepped closer to the edge. “Suigintou, isn’t that Shinku’s home?” The gothic doll replied, “Yeah,”

Barasuishou looked over at her older sister, “Do you think she’ll welcome us?” Suigintou looked down, “No, of course not.” The white doll turned to Barasuishou, “Don’t cry Barasuishou,” Barasuishou ignored Kirakishou and talked emotionlessly, “remember Shinku is Father’s favorite doll.”

Suigintou clenched her fists, “She is, but I’ll take her place soon!” The purple doll saw Kirakishou’s concerns for her Onee-sama, “Don’t cry Kirakishou.” On cue, Kirakishou made slight sniffing sounds. The 3 dolls saw a red flash somewhere. Suigintou smiled, “Look, its Shinku-san.” She nodded her head and the 2 eye patch dolls took off after Shinku.

Back to Shinku…

“Something’s close, I could feel it.” She looked behind her and saw 2 silver-haired dolls with rose eye patches on opposite eyes. They smiled as they create crystal spires and rose vines to attack Shinku. The red doll dodged the initial attack and took out her cane.

Although Suigintou had not participated in the initial fighting, she summoned black feather manifestations to attack Shinku.

(The manifestations are shaped like hound dogs)

Shinku attacked and destroyed the spires. The 2 silver-haired dolls went beside Shinku. The white doll asked first, “Where is Father?” She cast up vines and narrowly missed Shinku.

The purple doll threw crystal shards but Shinku blocked it with her cane. The purple-clad doll took time to ask, “You know where he is right?” Shinku thought for a bit, who are these dolls? Then out of nowhere, black creatures ambushed her. She hit the creature and it shattered into black feathers.

Kirakishou opened her palm and a double-edged, vine entangled spear appeared in her hand. She swirled it so that one point was pointed at Shinku. Shinku sees this and attacks Kira. She swings the cane at Kirakishou but the white doll blocks it with the spear.

Suddenly, Shinku suffers a sharp pain in her body. Although she doesn’t know what it is, she found herself going on the defensive. Kirakishou swung the spear at Shinku with so much force that the cane flew out of Shinku’s hand. She turned to face Barasuishou throwing a crystal shard, the shard didn’t hit Shinku directly, it just cut off a bit of Shinku’s hair.

The feather manifestations already surrounded Shinku and they pounced on her while crystal spires and vines were coming closer. Suigintou sent a telepathic message to her sisters. “We’ll kill her later. Stop the attack.”

The feather manifestations, crystals and vines disappeared. Barasuishou and Kirakishou grinned before leaving. Shinku watched as the 2 dolls flew away. Suigintou watched Shinku, smiled at her reactions before leaving herself.

Yes.., the Snow & "Kristalls" on Gin's N-Field that we saw on ~Traumend~ where the work of Bara Suishou / Laplace.
It seems the Field's, no more then contains elements that are characteristic to the doll it represents, can still be changed.

There is a definite link between each Rozen Maiden and her own N-Field; when a Rozen Maiden loses her Rosa Mystica for example, her N-Field is compleatly shut down, and everything inside it vanishes until it becomes a all black empty "space".
Hence beeing as they are actualy binded to them.

And beeing such, is what possibily.., grants them the ability to walk in, out and through them, and much like in 2 cases.., change them to a certain point.

Examples : Bara on Gin's - Episode 6 ~Traumend~ : the Snow & "Kristalls"
Gin & Bara on Shinku's - Episode 9 ~Traumend~ : expanded the N-Field

Well in season 2 1st episode, they said that the snow is caused by Laplace.
That was only Shinku's assumption at the time.., not the "actual" reason.
Despite Laplace no Ma beeing involved.., no one knew of Bara Suishou's existence so far until that point.

Some say it is her own personality.., others say its lack of it..

I myself strongly support the "its her own personality" speculation.., Bara herself does have a force of will, and the ability to take decisions.., its just.., she is binded (by her own points of view) on most.

To Bara all that matters is to make "Father" (her Father.., Enju) happy, and the way to do that.., is to prove that she is superior to any of the Dolls Rozen (Enju's master) has made.., which then eventualy leads.., what better way for such then for "my doll" be the one who achieves "Alice".

We could see little signs of Bara's own personality through some episodes.., but specialy on episode 12 of ~Traumend~ as where when she loses control (for fear that Shinku had escaped) and shouts out at Jun with all the Kristalls asking.. "WHERE'S SHINKU !!"

And another is the final moments of her and Enju.., with her smiling to him after having defeated all the Rozen Maiden.., and last her Tear of sadness when she realised the Rosa Mysticae where going to destroy her and she failed into becoming what her "Father" always wanted.

Anyway.., since all of what I previously wrotte is what matters to her.., it is pointless (in her point of view) to exchange any further dialogue with any of the Rozen Maiden, or anyone else in fact..
Hence.., she just limits to "imitate" some of the phrases as a responce to whom made them.

In the end.., its just a very calculative & cold aspect of her personality when towards the means to achieve her goals; which is what makes Bara exactly what she is :)

Also now.., just a final note.., when you say "Perfect".., that is rong..

What diferentiates Bara from all the Rozen Maiden.., is mostely the fact as on how she was built..; clearly Enju knew alot of how Rozen created the Rozen Maiden.., and is without a doubt a exceptional Maestro aswell.., but allas.., he failed on something (some say it was the Rosa Mystica that Bara did not have of her own).., which then inevitabily lead to her destruction when she atempted to achieve "Alice".

The names we saw in the Anime are just the japanese translation to what her names originaly mean in German.

Situation: If you guys were to be a doll, would you kill to become something special? For me, I wont because I dont want to achieve something through bloodshed and killing of my friends/companions to gain what benefits me..is just wrong. Even though one achieves to be Alice, I'm sure she wont be too happy. Why? sure, she becomes Alice but theres a theory where "you gain something and at the same time you lose something". In this case, you gain to be Alice, but you lose your friends and all that.

hehe.. You missunderstod me a bit ;)
When I said "altough each has a bit of Alice in her own", I ment in her personality, pshicologicaly.

Each Rozen Maiden with her own points of view, atitude and behavior; pshicologicaly has a bit of "Alice" in her.., and these where the aspects that we saw develop from the begining of Season 1 until the end of ~Traumend~.

This meaning.., through the course of the events that toke place on the storyline, and they're consequences.., each Doll grew pshicologicaly.., having then become one step closer into achieving "Alice", even if not aware of it.

The Key in becoming Alice is for one to understand what is right and rong, to each herself learns what is missing inside.
Hence the Alice game beeing nothing more then a Catalyst, a matter of where choices come into play, and that is what it is all about; choices.

Through the Alice Game many had learned the downside of they're choices, when upon seeing the true motives of what drove all the others into making they'res aswell.., and allas those who have fallen where I guess.. destined to do such in a way.
Upon making certain choices you cannot go back.., or as Sousei Seki herself wanted to say.., if I stop beeing true to them, I stop beeing who I am; hence her decision had long been taken and she could not revert it.., which ended up leading to the development we know.

It is a harsh way to show each doll the effect on how her choices and prespective have in the end I agree.., but all in the end have grown much more phsycologicaly and are now closer to Alice then ever before; which is what I belive Rozen always desired.

I totally missed tonight's conversations... However, the Alice Game is a legitimate way to become Alice. By absorbing all the pieces of the true Rosa Mystica (which we have been shown to contain the doll's memories and emotions), the fragments of perfection would be gathered and transcend the doll to Alice.

Becoming Alice through "life experiences", while taking much longer, is obviously the preferred route for the dolls as we know them (except Kira and Bara). They all have something/someome to live for, which is more important than fulfilling their Father's wish by violence.

Personally, I would think he wouldnt because like Rozen has told Shinku. There is another way become Alice. Yes, according to Alu and the.Merines. They learn alot of experience through this so called *Alice Game* where they learn to correct their past mistakes and thus becoming more closer to the character of *Alice*.

I believe there is season 3, yea...introducing Kira w/o explaining what in the world is she there in the last ep. along with the rabbit and the 2 Rosa Mysticas. I wouldn't know who is this true 7th doll Kira until I watch another season unless i read the manga of course.

Anyways, I have a question concerning the Rozen Maiden manga. I read english manga not japanese (dont hit me ><), yea my japanese language is badd but listening to ok like...*Desu*. I dunno if they have learnt much through the Alice game at all, since the Alice game has just really started and the result of the game is = death. Maybe the game was a catalyst to them growing, but personally I think it is their relationship with Jun/Megu and each other that has caused them to grow closer to becoming Alice.

The two willing participants to the game in its truest sense are either lifeless or a mound of dust.

I would say that the attempt to NOT participate in the Alice game in its original form has lead to the most growth towards Alice.

Souseiseki will almost certainly be in the season 3 OVAs, but, um...SHE will not be shown reviving because the episodes will be set before the events of the first series.

I hope you will not mind if I butt in with my own thoughts on the topic.

But they had somewhat noble aims, oxymoronic, is it not? Suigintou wanted to cure Megu's ailment while Barusuishou wanted to show Enju she, his product, could be better than the 'original'. Each had different aims that they wanted to achieve.

Maybe the game was a catalyst to them growing, but personally I think it is their relationship with Jun/Megu and each other that has caused them to grow closer to becoming Alice.

I personally believe that it was the Game itself that caused the greatest growth. They were pushed into the Game, they had to make important decisions. The consequences of what they did and the others did forced them to move on and to change their viewpoint of things. As Shinku said in Traumend 1, "I believed it was our purpose[to take each other's Rosa Mysticae]." However, when Suigintou died (in a sense)she understood how hard it was to lose a 'sister'.

As for the ending of Traumend, I'll say it would be better to leave it that way. It's quite open-ended(it's hard to satisfy everyone) and ideas can develop from there.

Of course, a Season 3 is always good (or at least the OVA) and I eagerly await. :)

Hinaichigo - N-Field full of toys = cheerful,playful always:)

Shinku - N-Field with a mansion and having tea = calm, (the slient type). i.e book reading + watching kunkun w/o saying alot of phrases.
Quite an accurate description of their fields matching their personality, though I'd watch out, those toys are fully capable of killing someone at Hinaichigo's will!! :p

This scene in volume 2 of the manga made me really sad. Setting: Jun learns about Hina almost killing Tomoe in her N-field, and runs to Nori's Room (Hina is with Nori, who is sick) to warn Nori about the "evil doll." But he finds Hina cuddled in Nori's lap, asleep. It seems that Hina was so worried about Nori's health that she stayed with Nori in bed, reading a book to Nori; even though Tomoe was in the living room. *sob* Truly, "isnt she like an angel?"

And, the loss of Desu~ becomes especially obvious in this scene.

Alu is a goddess at interpreting Rozen Maiden. :bow: My theory is that she rewatches S1-2 at least once every week. :p Thank you for that superb clarification on Nfields and Dreamworlds. :D I agree with you that's its part of her personality. When she was doing that (repeating what Gin said) it felt to me like she was rolling the words around her head, getting use to them, as if they were the first words she heard uttered; so maybe she did that because she was freshly just off the manufacturing line?

because she actually did mature quite a bit and show such a tenacity and loyalty to her cause/believes and yet she still died and lost out on any chance to become Alice. I guess it is as grey says, "I would say that the attempt to NOT participate in the Alice game in its original form has lead to the most growth towards Alice."

@Shikimori Kazuki; about the chance of Souseiseki coming back to life; I feel that she deserves to be brought back to life because she was mislead into fighting for a wrong cause, i.e. Enju's cause.

I think I should have clarified myself a little more here. The two I was on about was Bara, but the other was Sou. The reasons I didn't pick the others is because they in my mind did not play the Alice game. As you quite rightly pointed out the Gin's actions were selfless (although not from the other maidens pov :twitch: )

For me at the end of S2 we have in terms of the Alice game:

Hina - Not interested, she at first just doesn't want to be alone.
Shinku - Her wish to not fight her sisters over rides any wish to become Alice
Sui - Wants to be Alice but wishes more to be happy with Sou and everyone else
Gin - Wants to spank Shinku, but her actions say she wants to save Megu
Kaneria - Wants to prove she is better then the rest, but I personally think she wants to fit in and join the Scooby gang

None of these wants to play the Alice game at all or in its original form...

Finally the two I tagged in my post...

Sou - Wants to become Alice to make father happy. Father being happy is her reaching the goal of the original Alice game ie kill the rest aborb their Rosa Mysticas become Alice.
Bara - Same as above but substitute father for her father...

This could be a case of semantics, but I always thought if a person refuses to play by the rules of a game, they are no longer playing that game (ie football and soccer :p )... hmmm... who toke place on the Alice game willingly ?

Shinku from what we currently know.., in the begining always willingly decided to take place in the Alice Game for the sole purpose to "become Alice", something she, as she belived beeing the "purest" of the Rozen Maiden.. was destined too.

Upon having defeated Gin however.., she came to the conclusion that there where drastic consequences for her actions..; this because.., she saw in Gin a much more pure feeling to become Alice then the one she had.., and she ended up destroying Gin only knowing of this at the very end.

Hence it is why she in ~Traumend~ chooses not to take part in the Alice Game.., and also not to interfear in anyone else's choice to do so.., her words to Bara on episode 9 say this in exact perfection :
"I will not fight.., I know I cannot change your decision, but understand that I am not changing mine either."

Gin was playing the game aswell of her own will on ~Season 1~, for the reason to become finaly a compleat doll and earn Father's love, whom she loved so much even though he had made her like this.
Hence.., her decision was made, the only way to do this was to take part in the Alice Game and become Alice by obtaining everyone else's Rosa Mysticae.

Not to mencione she particularly wanted to destroy Shinku..., and reasons for this well.., we will get the chance to see them on ~Ouberture~ ;)
But.., this was in the end.., just a bonus along the way ^^

On ~Traumend~ however.., after all the events that toke place.., she is in fact.., only taking part in the Alice Game because of Megu.., no longer for herself nor for Father, even though she will always dream of becoming Alice..., her first priority now has become to Heal Megu.., and not only phsicicaly...

Gin sees herself as what she was in Megu.., but without her wall of angst and hatred which.., always kept her as cold as she was...
Megu..., well.. she just has lost all hope.., and in deep depression she sees herself as just a failed girl.., "junk"..; something that Gin always inside felt like aswell..

Then we have Sou.., Sou always gaved much more devotion to others then to herself.., and to even her sister..
She willingly aswell, and have always demonstrated even through alot of scenes on ~Season 1~ that she wanted to take part in the Alice Game..

In the end.., given the way the events where unfolding.., this option became more and more a decision.., which then Bara & Laplace clearly saw and decided to exploit it into brigining her to the point where she could no longer return.
Upon seeing Father crying, searching for Alice, and not understanding why Shinku had decided to no longer take part in the game.., she.., for her devotion to Father.., decided to take part of it.

Not to become Alice for herself.., but just, and all.., for Father.

Which is much the same reason why Bara & Kanaria decided to take place.., this last feeling I mean.
Each chose to take part in the game willingly for her love and devotionto someone.
Bara to Enju, to make him happy upon seeing his creation best of all the ones created by Rozen.., and even achieving that which Rozen was unable to do so..
And Kana for Mii-chan in the begining, just to be able to get all the Rozen Maiden for her to be happy "playing" with them; and for herself in the end.. to prove that she was strong enough to earn the trust of her sisters.

The only doll that in fact was "forced" to take part in the Alice Game ended up by beeing Sui..
Sui herself always said that yes.., she loves Father, and she does want to become Alice.., but if that ment her having to take Sou's or anyone else's Rosa Mystica.., then she would not do it.

However.., upon seeing Sou's Rosa Mystica beeing taken by Gin.., and the deception that Enju lead all of them to belive..., she had no choice..; for the sake of returning Sou's Rosa Mystica back to her body.., she toke part in the game.
That was her only goal.., that and not to let any more lose they're own.., for as she tried to stop Kanaria from coming and tried saving her aswell.

Now on Hina though.., it puzzels me a bit..
Hina at the time was very selfish.., and only cared about herself..; however.. she never tried to start the Alice Game with anyone..

Only when provoked by Shinku she willingly toke part in it.., so we can say.., Hina herself only wanted to be "happy" at the time.., but if she was challanged.., with her prespective beeing of selfishness still.., then she would definitly acept the challenge, even if just to prove that she was better and that she in the end would become Alice.

Shinku from what we currently know.., in the begining always willingly decided to take place in the Alice Game for the sole purpose to "become Alice", something she, as she belived beeing the "purest" of the Rozen Maiden.. was destined too.

Upon having defeated Gin however.., she came to the conclusion that there where drastic consequences for her actions..; this because.., she saw in Gin a much more pure feeling to become Alice then the one she had.., and she ended up destroying Gin only knowing of this at the very end.

Hence it is why she in ~Traumend~ chooses not to take part in the Alice Game.., and also not to interfear in anyone else's choice to do so.., her words to Bara on episode 9 say this in exact perfection :
"I will not fight.., I know I cannot change your decision, but understand that I am not changing mine either."

Gin was playing the game aswell of her own will on ~Season 1~, for the reason to become finaly a compleat doll and earn Father's love, whom she loved so much even though he had made her like this.
Hence.., her decision was made, the only way to do this was to take part in the Alice Game and become Alice by obtaining everyone else's Rosa Mysticae.

Not to mencione she particularly wanted to destroy Shinku..., and reasons for this well.., we will get the chance to see them on ~Ouberture~ ;)
But.., this was in the end.., just a bonus along the way ^^

On ~Traumend~ however.., after all the events that toke place.., she is in fact.., only taking part in the Alice Game because of Megu.., no longer for herself nor for Father, even though she will always dream of becoming Alice..., her first priority now has become to Heal Megu.., and not only phsicicaly...

Gin sees herself as what she was in Megu.., but without her wall of angst and hatred which.., always kept her as cold as she was...
Megu..., well.. she just has lost all hope.., and in deep depression she sees herself as just a failed girl.., "junk"..; something that Gin always inside felt like aswell..

Then we have Sou.., Sou always gaved much more devotion to others then to herself.., and to even her sister..
She willingly aswell, and have always demonstrated even through alot of scenes on ~Season 1~ that she wanted to take part in the Alice Game..

In the end.., given the way the events where unfolding.., this option became more and more a decision.., which then Bara & Laplace clearly saw and decided to exploit it into brigining her to the point where she could no longer return.
Upon seeing Father crying, searching for Alice, and not understanding why Shinku had decided to no longer take part in the game.., she.., for her devotion to Father.., decided to take part of it.

Not to become Alice for herself.., but just, and all.., for Father.

Which is much the same reason why Bara & Kanaria decided to take place.., this last feeling I mean.
Each chose to take part in the game willingly for her love and devotionto someone.
Bara to Enju, to make him happy upon seeing his creation best of all the ones created by Rozen.., and even achieving that which Rozen was unable to do so..
And Kana for Mii-chan in the begining, just to be able to get all the Rozen Maiden for her to be happy "playing" with them; and for herself in the end.. to prove that she was strong enough to earn the trust of her sisters.

The only doll that in fact was "forced" to take part in the Alice Game ended up by beeing Sui..
Sui herself always said that yes.., she loves Father, and she does want to become Alice.., but if that ment her having to take Sou's or anyone else's Rosa Mystica.., then she would not do it.

However.., upon seeing Sou's Rosa Mystica beeing taken by Gin.., and the deception that Enju lead all of them to belive..., she had no choice..; for the sake of returning Sou's Rosa Mystica back to her body.., she toke part in the game.
That was her only goal.., that and not to let any more lose they're own.., for as she tried to stop Kanaria from coming and tried saving her aswell.

Now on Hina though.., it puzzels me a bit..
Hina at the time was very selfish.., and only cared about herself..; however.. she never tried to start the Alice Game with anyone..

Only when provoked by Shinku she willingly toke part in it.., so we can say.., Hina herself only wanted to be "happy" at the time.., but if she was challanged.., with her prespective beeing of selfishness still.., then she would definitly acept the challenge, even if just to prove that she was better and that she in the end would become Alice.

The Alice Game serves as A purpose to become Alice through obtaining each of the dolls Rosa Mysticae..,
However.., what I belive it is its true purpose lies on it beeing nothing more then a catalyst to show the dolls that there are consequences in the decisions they make.

Much like I previously posted...

The Key in becoming Alice is for one to understand what is right and rong, to each herself learns what is missing inside.
Through the Alice Game many had learned the downside of they're choices, when upon seeing the true motives of what drove all the others into making they'res aswell.., and allas those who have fallen where I guess.. destined to do such in a way.

I chose not to speak of Kira on that subject because.. well.., currently we don't know "exactly" her true motives...

By the end of ~Traumend~ we became aware that in fact Kira was the one pulling the strings behind Laplace..., which resulted in Bara & Enju only beeing "puppets" whom where manipulated into making an "opening Act" sort of speak.., until the final stage is set.
However.., this "opening Act" still payed out in the end..., for Kira ended up with both Sou's and Hina's Rosa Mystica..

Needless to say that.., if Kira was in fact, and as we know.. was.., behind all of this.., then she is the main cause for all the events related to the Alice Game that toke place on ~Traumend~; hence.., she above everyone else sees the Alice Game as The mean to Achieve Alice; and with that.. ended up manipulating all the pieces of the board for the decisive conclusion.
Or.. so far as we have seen.

However.., her "true motives" for such are still unclear..
I cannot say that her wish is to achieve Alice just for the sole purpose of becoming so..., or if she is doing so out of her pure out Insanity devotion to Father..
Alot of what relates to Kira in the Manga may never happen in a possible Season 3.., hence.., these prespectives may aswell turn out to be compleatly diferent.
So.., currently I cannot say what realy drives her.., except speculate on those 2 possible choices...

One thing is certain though.., Kira desires to be on top of the game when this is over..;
From what we can say for certain.., all of what she did behind the curtains in ~Traumend~ was for that purpose and that purpose alone.

@RM-FAN - I was on about my perception of their goals at the end of S2, so like Alu I didn't comment on her.

@Blitz - Hahahahh that was the first thing I thought, if Shinku made it as a valentines present would the white day present need to be 3 times as poisonous?

@Alu - As always your post is most eloquant, but where we differ in opinion is as I mentioned earlier, is the definition of playing the Alice game. For me it is to defeat the other maidens, take their Rosa Mystica to become Alice.

Hence my conclusion only Sou and Bara really played the Alice game.

Let me try to describe my opinion of Shinku better during and at the end of S2.

Her wants
To please father.
To become Alice.
Does not want to sacrifce her sisters to attain this goal.

Her actions
She did her best to avoid fighting.
She only fought to defend herself until the last fight.
The last fight she was provoked by the memories from Gin. imo she was angry and wanted revenge for Gin and everyone. No longer were there thoughts of becoming Alice, but to hand a spanking to the person who she realises caused most of the deaths of her sisters.

Let me try to describe my opinion of Shinku better during and at the end of S2.

Her wants
To please father.
To become Alice.

I think you overlooked a bit this aspect given all that happened after ~Season 1's~ conclusion Grey.

After having defetead Gin, Shinku became filled with guilt & remorse.., she saw in Gin a much more pure feeling to become Alice then the one she had.., and she was unable to prevent her demise..; in fact.., she was the one who destroyed her..., which even consumed her more inside..
And is also the reason why she did not take Gin's Rosa Mysticae after all of this either..

Her conscience however.., could not let go of those final moments.., those moments where she could have made the choice to prevent it all.., and even.., as we will now see in ~Ouberture~, the True moments from where "it" all began..

Her guilt & remorse where by the first episodes of ~Traumend~ eating her inside.., she could no longer even fight another Rozen Maiden (as we saw when Bara provoked her, Shinku just compleatly froze) without seeing Gin's reflection in them..
So.., needless to say.. Shinku was steps away from "breaking" inside..

After ~Traumend's~ episode 6 however..., once Gin appeared in her N-Field and she realised she had been repaired.., her happiness for having her sister alive again was so much that she could not contain her tears.., and she then apologised for everything.., possibly.., even for events we are yet to see in ~Ouberture~.

Hence.., having her conscience clear once more.., she on ~Traumend's~ episode 7 is happy again.., so happy that in fact everyone else notices "the change".
However.., this experience made a Extreme & profound impact on her self-persona..

Currently the only way they where aware to achieve "Alice", was through the Alice Game.., and that would imply that all of her sisters would have to suffer the same fate as Gin did.., and Shinku.. well.., because she was now aware of how rong this was.., she could no longer take part in it..

For the love of her sisters..., she at that time Chose not to become Alice, for she did not want anyone else to perish...

In fact.., when confronted by Sousei Seki about why she would not fight when everyone was provoked by Kanaria..., Shinku said those exact same words..

"I do not want anyone else to go away..., I just want things to be like they are now"

Hence.., she at that time.., did no longer care about becoming Alice.., not like this..

Which now leads us to why Rozen said the words he did to Shinku after having repaired her...

" Dream of becoming Alice once more "

For there are other ways.. :)

In the end.., All the Rozen Maiden toke part in the Alice Game.., but each for diferent reasons...
Shinku herself near the final battle on ~Traumend~, still only toke part in the Alice Game simply and ONLY for the sole purpose.. to stop it.
But she toke part of it none the less...

About taking part on the Game to achieve "Alice" however..., in this aspect you are right Grey.. ;)
By the last episodes of ~Traumend~ we could conclude that "Then" only Sou and Bara entered the game to become Alice.., altough for diferent reasons.., the end was the same..

Blast from the past... Remember when we did our YouTube RM music video thing? I just found my 3 favorites. I liked these especially because I liked the music they were set to, the timing to the music and how it just seem to fit the character so well. Of course because they were about my favorite characters

1. Sui set to Mighty Heart. This just fits her sooooooo well, when I hear this song now I just think of Sui :)

2. Hina set to op of Ichigo Mashimaro. Such a good play on the names, and the song is perfect for her. Its like this was written for her. It's so cute and no one is cuter then Hina! Sorry IM fans, I know the girls are cute, but Hina is the goddess of cuteness :)

3. Shinku x Jun set to Rumbling Hearts. What can I say? Shinku sama and Jun make such a nice couple (master and slave...) This is one of the first ones I saw so it made a huge impression on me.

After trawling through all AMV's trying to find my third choice (I've had the file but not the link) I've come to realise how lots of music from other anime and cartoons just seem to sound better set to RM :D
