I've rewatched the first episode of Traumend with Ayu subs ... man, that still feels so fresh. I also have the subs of AnimeKeep, and because they're also good subbers, I have a great RM collection.

I personally don't like Suiseiseki for her inability to be direct and frank. Shinku has that problem also, but Suiseiseki is irascible and inconsistent, not to mention boisterous. Shinku is quiet although haughty, but we know deep down she cares.

I don't like her that much, but I still like her ... it's just that compared to the noble child-like behavior of Hina Ichigo she seems ... childish in all the bad connations of the word.

But she is good, and she cares EVEN for Hina, so she's still good enough for me. :)

I just finished watching Träumend , and I'm now convinced that there will be a third series some day. All in all, I really like Rozen Maiden and Träumend a lot, something I never imagined I would.

And the most beautiful Rozen Maiden is obviously Suigintou, but from the first season I didn't think anything could beat Hina Ichigo when it came to pure "awwww..."-inspiring cuteness... but then Kanaria was thrown into the mix.

This show is dangerous. I must go and do something macho now to convince myself that I' still a manly viking, instead of rewatching it all :( .

Heh, I remembered last time in a local forum where I said that I like RM. It's not that I really into it very much but some people called me crazy. Even a girl laughed to me when she knows I watched and like RM. Surprisingly, RM:T attracts more and more people to get to know about it and then love it.

Maybe people can accept the thought where a robot like Chii (persocom) to be loved by human. RM dolls have soul (Rosa Mystica) like Chobits stuff too. But maybe because they're still a doll and they're small. That's pretty nasty.

Actually, I was introduced to RM "unofficially" because the webmaster of g-seed (Depresionist) was preaching about Suigintou this and Gin-sama that. I wanted to know who Suigintou is and I found out who she was. Then I watched RM traumend (I didn't know that it was the second season at that time), when I found out there were so many unexplained thing, I went on a quest to look for season 1.

I can really relate with srb being a guy watching Rozen Maiden. At few times while watching the series I questioned my masculinity: why the f**k am I watching a show about dolls? And because I take psychology seriously, I even went so far as to ask myself if I was gay ... :upset:

It was horrible. I went to the extent of watching some hentai, and then some pr0n, and as I still got aroused, I concluded that it was not me -- the story was just engrossing and beautiful, albeit about dolls.

I realized about a week ago that Suigintou was among the hottest bishoujos if she only weren't so chibi ... I then searched for some great images (well, not really, Flo posted them for me) of Junk, and now it has become my avatar and my wallpaper.

The name Junk is so ironic. But anyway, as it perfectly describes Suigintou I'll have to be a garbage collector. I already am, and I'm loving it. :)

My GF was "amused" when I describe RM to her, but after I made her watch it she now is a big fan. My house mate who is a girl was very sceptical about RM (and anime in general), but RM, Air and Last Exile has converted her... Although I still hear her tell her girlfriends that I am really childish since I watch cartoons :p

I always forget I am watching a show about dolls, even though there are so many reminders. I mainly see RM as character interaction drama with a great story line. Maybe I am subconciously denying the fact that they are dolls...

Nope, as I said, "we may have another series". It's unfortunate that we don't have the right answer for that yet =\ The only thing we have to back this up is that the manga is still being made, and that the part covered in "Traumend" ended a few chapters ago. Other than that I can't say much.

I agree there that Gin is the only "hot" maiden. Since she's the one who appears to be the "oldest", in appearance. All the others are cute, but you certainly wouldn't find Hina Ichigo or Sousei Seki hot. (Since Sousei even looks like a guy to me. ). But I find Shinku and Suisei Seki the cutest (And since I usually go for "cute" instead of "hot", you get the picture =P). Besides, the only one who has breasts IS Suigin Tou, lol. (Even if she's a flattie.)

Lol, I felt like that after I finished Traumend also. I couldn't sleep and had nightmares all night long. Lol, I felt like that too. But after seeing the Ending v2, I felt a bit of pity of Fukuda and accepted GSD as a so-and-so series. FMP did that to me, though, since I watched it a few weeks after GSD.

I really wouldn't call the Rozen Maiden "dolls" in the true meaning of the word. I guess by my definition of "dolls" what I see are porcelain white creations with fixed smiles, dead eyes, and lifeless limbs, dressed up according to the whims/perferences of the Maker/Owner. For them to come to life to the Owner, he/she has to imagine, play at imagining with the dolls at tea-parties, dress-up and dinner lunches. We also assocaiate playing with Dolls as doting over them, taking a mother-complex to them. And I think thats why Dolls are associated with girls because they tend to lean towards this kind of motherly play imagining, plus the fact that most dolls are of the female gender. (Which is also why if you were a guy that play imagined with girly Dolls I would call a doctor. :heh: )

I too never once came to think of the RMs as dolls during both seasons and I think what makes us foget that the RMs are "dolls" is firstly: they move on their own, so it does take any imagining on our part for them to come alive and do what they do. Second: they have a personality of their own, and that personality becomes them - giving them (what seems to us like) THEIR own preference in dress, action, nuances. Again freeing us from imagining, as its all provided to us. Third: these dolls kick ass, so there is no involvement of motherly-i-need-to-look-after-you feelings on our (guy's) part. Maybe some girl viewers feel that way but I dont know. Because of all the above reasons I think that they became VERY VERY human to all of us (see Anthropomorphism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthropomorphism)), and just as no (okay, few) guys have a problem with watching cute female human characters, we became more or less okay with watching really human dolls.

Wow, I agree with you on that. Throughout the years of watching anime, we become used to seeing the fluffy, cute, uber-kawaii girl stereotypes (Like Hina, for example). I started to watch RM just because I trusted his good judgement on anime =P).

Well... I don't think anyone who watches Rozem Maiden to the end and still has the guts to say "It sucked. It's an anime about dolls!" should be even considered human. It's something similar to saying "animals don't deserve anything, they're just animals!" in my belief; you just shouldn't be alive if you did that. Wow, I agree with you on that. Throughout the years of watching anime, we become used to seeing the fluffy, cute, uber-kawaii girl stereotypes (Like Hina, for example). The concept of an anime about dolls is really something that turns off a lot of people, and it almost did to me. (I have to thank this to Dep, though. I started to watch RM just because I trusted his good judgement on anime =P).

Over vacation I plan to rewatch RM and RMT. Right now, I have heaping exams, papers, and the like, but I still love chatting about Rozen Maiden. I don't want to read manga ... it spoils the fun of loving the anime Rozen Maiden.

Actually, I think that it's not anything related to passionate love for Shinku. It's more like Family love. Because it's what they are, in the end: part of Jun's family.
You know, someone that has changed so much in you, for the best, I don't really think that a normal person wouldn't feel any kind of feeling for that someone. That's Jun's story.

Also, you know how they always ask... "Do you love him?" (Hotaru and Sousei Seki)? I don't really think that they speak of passionate love, wanting to become his girlfriend (Which is as strange as it sounds.). I think that it's more of this caring for thing. Because, as dolls, I bet they've been through many and many other masters (or servants, in the special case of Shinku). They might have been treated well by some, or maybe mistreated by others. Since Jun's fairly a nice guy, and cares about them as much as they do for him, I think this whole relationship is more family-type.

Yes, I really do agree with that: The OPs fit perfectly the theme of Rozen Maiden. There's even a line in Kinjirareta Asobi that goes: "...Another one will perish tonight". I saw that translation and thought that it fitted in perfectly.
The songs REALLY are kind of creepy. Specially the Traumend OP (Although the OP sequence is way cutter than in Rozen Maiden, where you simply didn't get anything at all from the anime in the OP. It was definetly strange in a way too. ).
I don't really like Toumei Shelter, don't know why. Probably it's because I'm not much into songs that start like that. Personal taste, I guess.

You remember when Shinku told Gin that "They were made to love humans, not harm them"? Well, Gin's no difference. And we get that in Traumend. Even though she still acts tough and badass in front of the others, she's not doing it for her own sake anymore, she's doing it for Megu. Gin was changed because she experienced human affection once, because it's what she was MADE to do. Since both of them have very similar problems, they fit perfectly with each-other.
The case with Suisei Seki is similar, too. Even though she realized she'd been picky on him, she still wanted him to look after her and like her. I was a bit pissed at Jun when he only apologized to Hina instead of Suisei aswell, when they blew the egg's crap outt'a the microwave. You see that Suisei Seki was hurt there, but I don't think anyone would have a different reaction, since Hina's never picked on Jun, but Suisei's another story.

I mean ... there is some foreboding with the OP. One realizes that eventually, something bad will happen because the weakness of the dolls AS dolls are shown. Their bare joints, obvious with divisions not found in humans, are to show that they are only dolls after all.

A cocktail of that with an eerie yet lively song, and we have great art. Amidst the dancing and the song, we know there is some inquination (!) inside ... there is a festering ... there is eventual death ...

It is a troubling OP (for Traumend). But the OP of season one is troubling as well.

Of course, by the time I finished the first season I liked everyone of them, but she wasn't easy to like when compared to Shinku ... I mean, Shinku may be snobby and haughty, but it has been continually proven that she really cared for Jun. Suiseiseki cares for Jun ... but her insidious behavior towards Hina Ichigo is something I don't really like.

I see I see... actually thats exactly what I like about Sui. :uhoh: Haha.. her inability to be direct with her emotions, to me, that makes her cute. And the stuff she does to Hina, I dont really find them irritating (maybe because I have yet to finish Traumend), insidious yes, but funny and all-in-all harmless (keep in mind I haven finished Traumend), and her actions just goes to characterise her even more as one who is too proud to speak her emotions. She's one crazy doll..

When Suigintou saw others who felt the same way as her, she probably realized how idiotic she was when she pitied herself: she also saw how much Shinku really cared for her. She then made it to herself to help others like her, and then, realizing deeply that she did not want to be Alice anymore: there were more important things in the world, like Megu.

I liked Suigintou more in the second season. Granted, it was totally pertinent of her to act that way in the first season: I read in classic books of how people try so hard to please others, to be perfect. I also think that a lot of people from Singapore and Japan are fans of this anime because they see themselves in Jun. With six-day weeks in Singapore and Japan (so I've heard from some people [no, not you, Lost]) and seven-day weeks in Korea such is the state of some of the adolescents like Jun who bank so much on their academic achievement that when they fail it becomes the end of the world for them. They then seal themselves in their rooms ... check out Hikikomori (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hikikomori)

Suigintou, then realizing a better cause for her than to be Alice, wanted to help her master to end Megu's suffering. Noble causes - even that of Bara - she just wanted to please Enju.

When one really looks upon Rozen Maiden, there is neither good nor bad as all of them are only driven to what they feel they need to do. No one wanted to be Alice for the sake of being Alice - even Souseiseki wanted to please Father.

If anyone would ever be a villain here, it would be Rozen, as Zero (I think) stated in pages before because she made those dolls only to destroy one another ... to become Alice. This is a wonderful change of pace from those who anime who define evil and good so sharply (Bleach) -- because the real world has mostly different shades of gray in it.

Only certain aspects like slavery, for example, can be truly considered evil - and not many ideas or actions belong in the black.

I mentioned that in my comparison posts on how Rozen Maiden attains a perfect balance between a character and plot driven story. I mentioned Hiatari Ryoukou, where you'll probably like the characters almost immediately, but the plot is lacking because the characters are the plot themselves. I also mentioned Ergo Proxy, where the plot is multi-layered and pastiched, but the characters (even the lead ones) are odious because they are human and they are distant.

Then I mentioned Rozen Maiden, which obtained the perfect balance between character and plot. I also mentioned that although you didn't really like the characters immediately, you develop a slow love for them, and the plot is not as convoluted as Ergo Proxy, so it's just perfect.

It wasn't actually me who said he's the villain, I just agreed, but in some sort of "forgiving" way. I said that he'd probably created them because of his selfish love or because of his inability to create a girl who'd be perfect in his eyes. However, seeing Traumend, I believe he has changed a bit, loving more his own creation, his own living dolls, his own daughters, than his imaginary girlfriend.
Or the Alice game could be a complete hoax, created by Rozen himself to see if his dolls had the ability to do what they believe is right, rather than only following orders.

Lol, the problem's not that I haven't studied (I never study that much. Only revising is fine. ), the problem's that I really haven't read the texts. Most of the things I have on my to-do-list are reading chunks off my AML literature book, which contains the most annoying things I've ever read (Most of the stuff by Edgar A. Poe, he's a good writer, but you get bored easly when you have to read everything by him on a single slap.). Also a few southeastern stuff, whose accented texts are pretty hard for me to read.

The case with Suisei Seki is similar, too. Even though she realized she'd been picky on him, she still wanted him to look after her and like her. I was a bit pissed at Jun when he only apologized to Hina instead of Suisei aswell, when they blew the egg's crap outt'a the microwave. You see that Suisei Seki was hurt there, but I don't think anyone would have a different reaction, since Hina's never picked on Jun, but Suisei's another story.


I think Sui is just reaping what she has sown, in a way she has trained Jun to act the way he did. He most probably thought that the whole thing was Sui trying to pick on Hina and get her into trouble.

It's funny because, with RM, you're first taught to HATE the characters before loving them.



That's a very good point, apart from characters with bit parts, the only person I liked from the start was Nori and I still would not like to see whats going on in her head... Might make for an amusing omake...

Ever since my misdirected anger at Rozen when is should have been aimed at Enju I've been thinking about Alice and the Alice game. I was wondering how much the maidens actually know about Rozen and his real wishes, since they did mistake Enju for Rozen could they be mistaken by other things? Personally I don't really like seeing h-doujins of series I really like, and this is even worse with RM, since it's a show I like, and I could never think of the dolls with sexual conotation. Maybe a few weeks in the future :P

Armed with Ayu's sub of the 12th and final episode of Traumend, I've finally gotten down to rewatching Traumend, right from the 2nd episode. (Rewatched 1 several times already, I can remember each scene off the back of my head) Since I've got nothing better to do (Holidays, you see) and wishing to provide some material that we fanboys (and girls) can start posting on again, I've decided to post some screen-caps of my favourite parts, and what I think are the highlights of episode 2 (with respect to the dolls only). This is not meant to be an episode review, just a capture of the doll's expressions/actions/and kawaii-ness accompanied by my comments. :D Hope you fanboys and fangirls enjoy.

Apparently she can!! She's up to her antics again, with a totally cowed Hina following at the heel of her every word. I love the expression on Hina's face.. Poor poor girl..

This scene, after a short argument between Jun and Shinku, was sad. The expression on Shinku's face here especially pulled at my heart. It really goes to show the weight of the burden she's carrying, that of the knowledge of the 7th doll, and also reaffirms the love she has for Jun, so much so that she's hurt (and lets it show, which isnt usual for a doll like Shinku) when she gets rebuffed by Jun.

Wow, it's episode 2 that Jun buys them music boxes? I really should rewatch it sometime.
And yeah, that scene was really touching. Her expression of amuzement at the box was also very cute; I must admit that seeing a smile on Shinku's face is something worthless.
She also puts it under her Kunkun doll's arm (She really does love Kunkun a lot, too. ), and that really shows how much she's liked her present.

But I felt kind of sad because nor Jun nor Shinku could speak to eachother at the beginning. With Jun studying, he constantly asked her if she wasn't going to sleep. To me, she wanted to be awake to be by his side a little longer, aswel as to not having to sleep and have dreams about Suigin Tou.

Also, physics, I think you're a liiiittle bit off when you say that "The second series comes right after the first one...".
I'd say that between Rozen Maiden and Traumend there's at least a 1-month gap (But that could be more, since we see that Jun has already been studying for a while, and even Hotaru gets amazed at how far he'd gotten with his studies in such a short time. )
No worries, though. Everything else's just fine.

Lol, it's certainly odd to see her dreaming of that. Specially since, throughout Rozen Maiden, the only sex-related parts are really the episode when all the dolls get on their underwear, so Nori could wash their clothes. And that's really MILDLY portrayed, since the focus is Jun paying attention to their joints. Also, after a few episodes, Shinku, quote "Jun's been reading magazines in the bathroom lately, he won't be back for a while". Well, he IS 12-13... lol.

But Nori is weird, but in a pretty loving way. If she had longer hair and didn't wear glasses, she'd be T3H h4wT!

Hee hee but she is still one of the nicest characters from first impressions and from what I can remember we can never be too sure of what are the connotations of what she says in the anime. I need to get my hands on the cd drama and a transcript, not that I am interested in a Nori x Jun thing, but people are talking about it and I feel like I'm missing out. I actually tried to make the flower topped hamburger dish several times all thanks to a mini-egg shaped frying pan I found in Paris (althrough it was cheap tat and now in the bin). I have yet to try unyuu, I wonder what it is like?

Personally I think the authors are playing with us with the Nori and Jun suggestions. But I just love the way she associates lots of things about Jun, such as playing with dolls and whats in the bag :p

If the creators decide to make a third season, I hope it will be extended (~26 episodes perhaps) and that everything is resolved well. I also hope that everything will end happily because I expect it to. This is not like other anime for me: I really hope everything ends as well as it should, and everything resolved.

I hope that everyone also has a happy ending. I mean extremely happy, even Kira and Bara.

And, well. A 26-episode series would really be great, but I think the plot and character development would suffer a great loss if that'd be the case. But if it were to give us more time to appreciate the series, I would definetly vote for that.
I mean, Rozen Maiden mixes together so many different genres of anime that it wouldn't be hard to make lots of drama-based side-stories, or lots of comedy-based days-in-the-life-of-a-Rozen-Maiden type of episodes.

But since the two first series were so awesome, I think that they could put in a little more effort and extend a possible third one a few more weeks.

Well... if they follow the same scheme of RM <-> Traumend, it's likely that, IF she comes back, Bara will be less violent towards the other dolls and more willingly to tag along with them, something like Suigin Tou.
If Kira's as badass as it's said, they'll need everything they've got to take her down.

I don't think they need all their strength to take down Kirakishou. Kira has deadly attacks, but I don't think she is much of a fighter-type but rather manipulative. It won't be a surprise with Bara and Kira manipulates Suigintou again.

Well, I have to say that Bara really amazed me with her attacks. She was awesome with her crystals.

Besides, I think that the only one that are really adept to fighting are Suigin Tou and Sousei Seki, given their weapons. The others don't really have weapons suited for fighting, but that can be used for so if necessary.

Ho! Nice suigintou pic there. :D Idont really like Hina and Kanaria because they're too childish. But it seems that there are many fans of them.

I think Kanaria is all about offense and no defense. She has little to no defensive capabiities (yes, she can block melee attacks with her violin, but that's a risky move as it could damage her weapon). She is heavily reliant on her violin, which once broken, will leave her completely vulnerable.

It is funny that in episode 11, they nerf Kanaria's attacks, when the first time she attacked (the dolls of the Sakurada household), she left a large trail of destruction.

Suigintou is pretty much well balanced in both defense and offense (using wings as both weapon and shield) though, but she had terrible accuracy. We can say the same about Shinku, who could conjure up a barrier to protect herself, and could also launch massive rose-petal attacks. I think, however, that Shinku has more precision.

Actually the discusion about their fighting abilities in terms about power will be very difficult imho. For example Hina seemed pretty powerful until her medium ran dry, was that because she overspent or because Tomoe was weak? She was passing out beforehand. Gin in S1 with no medium was scary powerful (because of her feelings?), in S2 it was her concern for Meg that caused her to loose.

In terms of fighting styles I would put everyone's core abilities as:

Hina - Binding
Shinku - Attack and defence
Sui - Bind & defence
Sou - Attack
Gin - Attack & defence
Kanaria - Attack
Bara - Attack
Kira - ????

Thinking about it, Sou and Suis core abilities seem to compliment each other the most, shame Sou lost the sight of that.

From what I see, Hinal-ichigo is more focused on offense, seeing that she has no means to protect herself and has to conjure strawberry vines to bind the enemy so she could execute more attacks and to prevent more harm from occuring from herself.

But seeing that she draws her energy from Jun via the third party (Shinku), her abilities were nerfed greatly from the second episode of the 1st season.

Shinku and Suigintou were almost alike in both attacking and defensive abilities. I typed about that earlier.

Suiseiseki, I think, is good in both defense and offense, but she is very very reliant on the watering can (if destroyed, will render Suiseiseki defenseless, just like Kanaria). She needs it to conjure plants to either protect or attack, and from what I see in Traumend, the vines can be powerful in the offense, but so and so in defense (well, Souseiseki did just slice them apart, after all).

Souseiseki lacks defense (if you don't count her blocking any melee attacks with her scissors), but she excels in offense. We can safely say that she is akin to a medieval swordsman, with no armor and shield.

I had described Kanaria in earlier posts, but I think her biggest weakness is that she panics very easily. In episode 11, she should be able to summon Suiseiseki's watering can. Problem is, she panicked after Barasuishou shattered her violin. If she could calm down and think clearly, she would have summoned the watering can and continue to trash Barasuishou with plants.

Barasuishou had proven herself to be on par with both Suigintou and Shinku in terms of attack and defense. All three are proficient with melee weapons, ranged attacks and defense.

Well, Suigintou without a medium is deadly powerful, so with a more suitable medium than Meg she'll probably be the most powerful of them all. Shinku is obviously weaker than Suigintou ... but I think I recall from some muttered statements that she was the most perfect and powerful doll created by Rozen (by Enju, perhaps?)

Shinku is still powerful and can still par with Suigintou.

Barasuishou is the weakest among the three ... as could be seen in the series.

Shinku also did it in episode 1 and in other episodes, using Jun's dolls to fight for him and go with them to Gin's N-field rescue Hina. Hina's really versatile when it comes to fighting, but it's very apparent that she's the weakest (Yes, even Kanaria'd win against her, if it were an only power-related battle). On her fight with Shinku on episode 2, Shinku barely took damage, even though Hina was using all of Hotaru's power.

By the way... that girl, Jun's friend and Hina's ex-medium IS named Hotaru, right? Or am I making a mess here with Sailor Moon's "Hotaru Tomoe"? O_o

Anyway, I think that Gin's problem with Yakult is that she really doesn't have a stomach, therefore Yakult can't do anything for her. But I find it funny that so many people found it amazing how she asked the old man if he'd taken his Yakult too :P

Gin's certainly a battle-suited one, but I'd guess that's because of her unique personality; she has probably fought way more than any other of the dolls, therefore she has more experience (You do see that she manages to use her weaponry quite well), and unlike any other, she carries a sword (Not counting Bara.). She also moves quite swiftly. The reason why she lost to Bara's because 1) She tried to protect Shinku, 2) Bara sneaked in from behind.

You guys did already realize that Holie's special power is to back time of a certain object, right? It's even shown in the opening, the sands of time falling down, and with Shinku looking, the sand starts to go back, defying gravity. It's not really "magic" that Shinku fixes the windows and Jun's kitchen. I think that those things really give us some idea of what to expect in the future, but I don't want to spoil anything unless I have some proof. But keep an eye on Holie, because I bet Shinku will do something important with it's power in the future.

"I knew that she was the only person that can pull it off," as quoted saying in an interview. Much of the credit of Suigintou's fame is credited towards Matsuo-san selecting the perfect voice for her.

Concerning Shinku's and Suigintou's combat effectiveness: In episode 11 of the first season Shinku mentioned, that she could do everything Suigintou could do and promptly demonstrated this. Their fight was quite balanced, until Suigintou's manipulation of Jun started to interfere with Shinku's concentration (and most probably the amount of energy she received). This was without Suigintou having a medium, though, but it can also not be assumed that Shinku took advantage of having a medium at this point. While Jun's ring did emit a slight amount of the signature red light, this might have been caused by the destabilisation of it, which was caused by his mental distress.

Hee hee I guess as RM junkies we just can't get enough and need our next fix, especially us Hina fans who hurt inside when we think how S2 ended. Poor Jun, I do not know how he will cope without her, well he has Sui and Shinku to boss him around.

For me I will wait patiently and keep rewatching S1 and S2 (although I don't like watching the end of S2 if I am depressed or have had a bad day).

Favorite Hina moment for me that comes to mind right now is when she lets Jun put one foot inside her fort in Stair Wars....

Enju said that defeating Shinku was defeating the best creation of Enju. We all know that Kanaria sucks in defense, but he also probably knew about Kirakishou, that's why he patterned Bara after her to fool the other RMs. If Enju says that about Shinku, it probably is true ... considering the fact that she had four other Rozen Maidens beaten before her.

I really like Hina Ichigo, especially when she matured throughout the two series. In the second series she was so sweet that I almost wanted Suiseiseki to die rather than her. Sui is ... disturbing and annoying.

Of course, I still like Suigintou best. That's the tr00f.

I think Suigintou's costume is the best among all the Rozen Maiden costumes. It emphasises the hourglass figure and screams 'elegance'.

Though it did look more like paper than any high quality fabric.

If there is a season 3, I think the comedy would be cut down tremendously. After all, most of the comedic parts had Hina and Suiseiseki in it. Now that Hina is gone, no more Suisei and Hina comedic moments.

But of course, if they managed to find a substitute......

Yeah, I think the VA for Kira would be different. Barasuishou in Traumend lacked personality (unless you count her manipulative nature), and I believe Kira will be having more personality than Bara, and so a new VA is needed to bring out her personality.

But I think it's because of their appearance. Tomoe of Sailor Moon looks a little bit like Tomoe of Rozen Maiden.

And KJ, don't get mad because we just like to dream too much; in the end we know that rumors are just rumors and that we can just count on official announcements, but wishing's not a sin :D. Besides, I think that if we do get an official announcement, it won't be long before someone in the forum comes up with it and posts to our delight.

Also, Tanaka Rie's acting as Lacus Clyne / Meer Campbell have brought a lot of fans over to Gin. Besides, a lot of parody images of Gin/Lacus/Meer or them altogether (I've seen Meer dressed as Gin... Gin with Lacus' hairpin... Gin and Kira... wowz.). I particularly don't understand why they didn't make a Chii-Gin version yet (not that I've seen), since TR has done Chii's voice aswell. (Besides, Gin and Chii enjoy some similar characteristics, being a doll for example <_<)

Hey guys, Lil' Lost hasn't watched the end of Traumend yet :\ We spoiled his fun (Or maybe his deep sorrow and pain, something that could bring his life to an end on the spot. ) [Wtf, did we do him good or bad?...]

Also, besides Rie, none of the VA's of Rozen Maiden are very famous. Considering that Jun's voice is actually made by a woman (Figures.), I haven't seen many important characters made by them. The only one that comes to mind is Shinku's, who's done Yu Lang (or Fang, don't know for sure now) from The Second Raid.

About the cosplays, the ones with Suisei Seki (Along in the gallery with Hina's ) is really well made. Oddly enough, they didn't get the eye colors right, LOL. She's got one blue and one green eye, as opposed to the original Green/Red combination (kickass, I must say) that is Sui's. Besides, the cosplayer looks really cute IMO. And Rie didn't do very weel on Gin's costume. I had seen that picture before, and said "Well, true she's cute and all, but I don't think the costume is that well made.". Some of you might agree too. Besides her hair is black/brown, so she just doesn't look like Gin.

Well, if we do get to season 3, and it follows the same scheme of the two current series, we might have a loss in comedy (even more) and an increase in drama. I also bring back I thought I had a few (Something like 15) pages back, where I said that after Sousei Seki's "death" and all they've been through, Suisei Seki would "cool off" a bit on her stunts. But I don't know, it'd be kind of sad to see that, after all. And well, considering they can friggin' walk through mirrors/paddles, there's no reason for Kanaria to be there 24/7, since her medium (Darn, I forget the names of the humans all the time :heh:) is sometimes off to work during the day (?). I guess this could be explained like that.

I think that if they did make comedy about Kira/Bara, they'd lose their "status" of vilain. You don't see any comedy going on with Gin, because she's supposed to look "kickass". You don't usually respect that much a character that can only laught and act as a clown (vide Suisei Seki's reputation. Though everyone loves her, you can easly exchange her with most other characters. ). So I'd really doubt they would show Kira tripping on her dress or making funny expressions (Bara didn't have any of those aswell. The only time you laugh at her is when she loses her arm. But that's the kind of laugh that goes along a very well deserved "Take dat biatch!").

Crap, test thursday and I spent the last 6 hours sneaking around on my new phone (Which, btw, already has a bunch of RM songs and Bara no Jubai as ringtone, and features a pretty cute pic of Gin as background :D).

The next anime series will come out when it comes out. So until any official statement is made through anime mags, slips of animators' tongues on their blogs, or being posted on Moonphase (http://www.moonphase.cc/) the answer is: NO INFO IS OUT YET.


Well at least a trivia info for you:

When the director Matsuo Mamoru was holding auditions for the voice role for Suigintou, he immediately chose Tanaka Rie after hearing her acting skills. "I knew that she was the only person that can pull it off," as quoted saying in an interview. Much of the credit of Suigintou's fame is credited towards Matsuo-san selecting the perfect voice for her.

Watched Everything from Ep01 of RM-EP12 Traumend.

And I would like to show more respect for Rie Tanaka. Her voice range is unbelievable. Had I not researched for Suigintou's VA I may have not known it was Rie... (Had too much SEED and Destiny).


As you can see, I also have become fond of Suigintou, and wish for a third season. I was like a maniac leeching episode after episode. And it...was worth it. I like everything about this anime, How I wish that I knew about this earlier so that I could've gotten it rather than SEED Destiny.


I cried when Hinaichigo "stopped". It was the most dramatic episode in the series and I am very proud that my determination to get this anime has payed off.

It will still bring my life to an end on the spot. :( Nah its fine. My fault for wandering in here in the first place, not that i regret it, coz I don't. ;) As for Hina, I've been expecting something like that for a while now. Anime Rule #X: If you're gonna kill somebody off, kill the cutest, most adorable, funniest character for maximum emotional impact. Then bring him/her back in the last episode/next season.

I'm really banking on that last sentence for my continued peace of mind. :( The world is a darker place.

It was the 1000th post on the 19th so the RMT thread has grown 235 in 3 days :D

The newlywed was very very funny, especially the modded suitcase. My boss was trying to talk to me and I burst out laughing and I realised that the subject was not a laughing subject...

Personally I hope they bring her back sooner since it is not the same without her shenanigans. Even in serious situations like when Bara was trying to kebab them and keep them distracted whilst Gin took on Sou, Hina made me snigger when she ran into a pillar of crystal. I had to rewind that to to see the expression on her face....

So my day (nay, life) has been marred by news of a certain doll's demise. Still, RM is a great series, and we take what the writers throw at us. Only gives us reason to appreciate the earlier episodes more, and look back on this wonderful doll's life. (god I'm more affected than I'd care to admit. hey someone wanna do a obituary/eulogy for Hina? :p Maybe I'll work on it when I'm done with RM:T :eyespin: )

Heres my highlights from episode 3. If you haven alr done so, rewatch RM and RM:Traumend. If you have, Rere^nwatch both! (substitute n for the number of times you've watched it over) You know its worth it.

Lost: "O, great one..." :bow: Anyway this scene was fun, Sui in that pose is funny (also impressed me that she had a teenyweeny waist.. wait what am I saying? :twitch:), shes egging Hina on, yes poor Hina who by some nefarious scheme of our dear evil Sui is blinded by a well-placed ribbon; needless to say, she isnt enjoying it. So the episode started innocently enough, typical morning scene in Jun's room i.e. the dolls driving him mad -- Sui and Hina making a hell of a racket (see below); Shinku and Sou offering not-too-blithe advice for Jun's tea-making abilities.

Our first introduction to what is supposedly the "Most Intelligent of the Rozen Maiden", Kanaria, is well..... not too aesthetically pleasing. Within the first 5 minutes, she managed to get on my nerves (its a record, runners up -> Arika and Shinn).. not just her "i'm-overdoing-my-cuteness" character, but also her falsely falsetto voice. Little wonder she has been getting little love in this thread. Does anyone else think she'd make a good wife for Leonardo da Vinci?

My favourite part in the episode. Sui appeared indifferent to KunKun but you know she was watching it when she suffers a breakdown and shakes the living daylights out of Sou when (in Sou's own words) "the door just opened, thats all." Brave Hina, who was--just moments before--getting a lill too caught up with KunKun, is the heroine of the moment; "SUI-SEI-SE-Ki" she yells. Loved the whole rackus and the drawing of their faces :D

OMG..... COSPLAY!!!! Well, not altogether suprising, Shinku does have a shrine to KunKun.... But I must say she looked remarkably sauve in that outfit, until Sou overdid it and upsurped her postion.. The scene later where you heard her voice go "I'm the leader" was great.. I never heard her use that tone before, it was so unlike her, yet, somehow.. so like her :uhoh:

Treasure this moment of emotion of Hina's face fellow fan-persons. Its one of the terribly few and last in a long long while. Poor Hina is getting it from Sui... The look on Hina's face hurt me quite alot, I must admit Sui overdid it this time (okay she always does, but this time she over-overdid it)

I imediatly had to join this forum ! ; It toke me a while though to read most of the messages here said, but its been filled with great discussion subjects and surely it will not die anytime soon :)
Rozen Maiden is one of my most favorites anime ever, its compleatly brilliant and totaly caught me by surprise when I saw the first episodes..

Anyway.., I don't want to bore everyone with my on-going speach so.. :P
I'm just realy glad that I keep finding more and more RM fans to chat with.

By the way.., to me.. Suigin Tou.. ? definitly the best RM :)

I doubt very much they will remain as they are..
During Traumend we saw alot of the caracter of Sousei Seki and I did realy simpathize Alot with her and all of the reasons that let her take the choices she did; all very well developed in my eyes.

So.. maybe in a 3rd season Shinku will find a way to bring her and Hina's Rosa Mystica back.. she said it herself.. its one of the reasons father brought her back.
All that there are other ways to win the Alice Game, etc where all pretty vage to say the least..., needless to say anything can happen.

Altough, altough I do understand why they had to "die"... Traumend has clearly brough Sousei Seki to alot more attention then the 1st season, so it was natural that her moment would probebly be in this series; as for Hina..., her caracter is a bit shadowed when Kanaria appears.., maybe they thought it was best to place her to a temporary rest.

Henceforth, they might have a comeback, or at least its what I hope for :)
Never the less.. saying they are dead sounds a bit harsh.., they were after all still treated like they where "alive" - we see in the final images of epi 12 of Traumend Nori putting Hina and Sou near the TV so that they aswell could watch Kun Kun :)

Anyway.. I am counting that if anyone can bring her souls back someday, it has to be Jun.

Here's my analysis of them.

Hawt = Suigintou (no doubt)
cute = Hina Ichigo and Kanaria. (Kirakishou can fit here too)

Beautiful = Shinku, Barasuishou and Kirakishou?


Souseiseki is definitely out. Where do I put Suiseiseki?

You should also place Gin under beautiful. Her beauty is not cute, however ... it's hot.

Just look at her. Those beautiful flowing silver hair, the fair skin, those red eyes that blazes with determination, the hourglass figure, and the elegant clothes that suits her looks.

And the way she smiles, eventhough it is more like a mocking smile, is very beautiful as well.
