Well, it might happen that Rozen created all the dolls and kept them with him. However, when a person who's got no family (I'm assuming here.) dies, his/her belongings are sold in auctions and things like that.

IF it wasn't his plan to pass them on, so that they could live on and have experience with humans, and find their own way (Which is why I believe he let them go in the first place), then it's deeper than that.
And I really can't imagine Rozen wanting a child with Alice. I mean, he is supposed to be their 'father'. I can understand his desire to have one of his dolls become Alice, because, well, a father would want their children to achieve big, and to the dolls, being Alice is something big. And as an artist, he would want his creation to be perfect, and since Alice is perfect, it makes sense if he wants the Maidens, at least one of them, to become Alice.
Eh... the point I was trying to make: Alice will be a perfect doll right? Which guy in his right mind would think it physiologically possible to have a child with a doll?? OMG thats disgusting!! HAHAHA.. :D

Well what Zero said is possible. What if it wasnt his intention to pass the dolls on? If he knew he was gonna die prematurely, and found that the only way he could follow the dolls was thru the N-field, but that meant having no control over their lives in the real world?..... Abit farfetched, actually; but nothing is impossible. :heh: But I digress.

But I wonder what will happen after Alice is born. Or more specifically, what happens to the mediums? Back to usual business and act like nothing happened?
Thats a good question. Obviously Rozen will want the doll back. (but maybe not, as an artist sometimes knowing that a perfect creation of yours exists is just enough) Anyhow, thats pretty selfish... plus those who get their dolls destroyed in the process...

For me it would be very very hard to reconcile Rozen with a father's characteristics. No, I think he is "father" only in the literal sense of the word, as in creator, nothing more. All this while from S1 and S2, he was to me some apathatic far-off game master... (if he were a father he would have brought Hina back no questions asked!!!) I find the artist personality more agreeable with Rozen... Nice points!

All and all.., I first also belived that Rozen even though as an artist had probably suffered the loss of his child, and then used his know-how to try and, well not bring her back to life, but fill some sort of void left over..
Henceforth his search for Alice.

Agreed. I'm more used to see Rozen Maidens as dolls rather than people. And only four of the dolls had melee weapons, namely Barasuishou, Shinku, Suigintou and Souseiseki, so the rest might not be fit for Soul Calibur.

This is a good point when we were discussing Rozen's wish for perfection and the path that the dolls are to take. I think I mentioned that the Alice game only officially started in S2 so maybe he was waiting for them to figure out how to become Alice by other means and the Alice game was the timeout final solution. But if this was the case why give them such attack based weapon and powers. Of course he may have read the hentai Jun doshijini and wanted to protect them :p

I never thought about him as a game master, once I read your point I went oooo thats a good point. I guess I've been brain washed by what Shinku et al repeatedly say about Rozen.

The Rozen Calibur version of Hina is just so wrong on so many levels. On this point has anyone noticed that the green ranger in Zoids Genesis has a couple of characteristics of our beloved Sui. Namely she wears green and says desu a lot. Maybe the character designer had RM on when they were working?

Thats Suiseiseki! Sou is the short haired one. She seems to be the favourite of many people. What traits about her do you like desu?

LOL, yeah i'm on season two right now. Jun, I found him an enjoyable character at the beggining of season one. Truthfully, the only reason I started watching the show was because of the "male main character" because I have so much anime that feature hot girls that I wanted to find a main character that was a guy. That was pretty much explained by Gin-sama in S1. According to her, it is an important, sacred ritual for dolls to sleep in their suitcase so as to get in touch with their dream world, or something like that. And if they don't do well to follow that ritual, they will eventually ended up losing emotions.

And yeah, in the beginning, I felt like going over to Jun's house and 'break' him down because he was a terrible ass. But eventually he improved and became likeable.

The thing about Rozen Maiden is that it will eventually make a fanboy/girl out of its audience.

This reminds me of the part where Suiseiseki three failed attempts to win Jun's affection. And if I recall, Suiseiseki did not treat Jun as a 'servant'. And she attempted to impress Jun, and all her attempts, as I see it, were servant-ish.

And since Jun is Shinku's servant, doesn't that place Suiseiseki below Shinku in the Sakurada hierachy?

You see how she fought with Sou, she even died protecting shinku because she wanted to be the one to kill Shinku.. She is unfortunately still an antagonist..
About their suitcases, I had the distinct feeling when seeing those two dolls in there that: When they lost the game, the very same suitcase became their coffin..

She will still be villain, but still, remember that if she decides to keep chasing down Shinku with the intention of defeating her, she will risk drawing power from Megu, something Suigintou tried not to do. So I think she won't be as active as she was in S1.

My impression is that these people belonged in families who had history with the Rozen Maiden dolls. Seeing that they had been around for many decades, they would be circulated to many families, and if each family writes a record about the dolls, obviously there is plenty of information regarding them that exists.

Was it in S1 that he did that? Well nothing much really.. I only got the impression that there could be previous mediums, but thats logical. Anyway if I remember correctly the net search was futile. Anyway, he did find a book on the Rozen Maidens later right?

The Kirakishou one is okay. The Hina blowing up one (Did she eat an unyu bomb or something?) and the Shinku Terminator doesn't seem to match her.

I have a friend (a guy) hu has never watched anime in his life... roped him in by showing him 1st episode of Jigoku Shoujo. Said it sucked after awhile, so I made a deal with him to watch RM. Now he is positively hooked!

He went out to Isetan (Singapore) to look for Strawberry Daifuku XD I gotta say it doesnt really taste that nice...

And we are talking about a guy who only talks about German Rifles and is obssessed with guns in general (we are WW2 freaks).

That's really how good RM is, everyone shud really be watching this. I've yet to hear ANYONE say anything negative about RM after at least watching 3 episodes.

I find a white Gin-sama very very wrong on every level. Give us back our brooding, dark angel-ish Gin-sama!

I am very obssessed with subtlety, deceit, murder and poison (and daggers. Pretty much why I played WoW like a cat on catnip) and yet at the very moment I watch Rozen Maiden, I became hooked.

And yeah, the one reason why I watched Rozen Maiden in the first place was the picture of Gin-sama in Piro's rants in Megatokyo. I find her design, especially those 'unique' eyes and haughty looks and the silver hair very very intriguing.

Well I think that they have a very good relationship as it is, we see there Jun comforting Sui and for once Sui not kicking his shin. I feel its great the way it is now, and so I'd rather it remain that way. I can't really foresee the relationship improving even more.. I actually prefer the relationship to be like it was in Traumend; detached but pride-hidden-shy love on outside but when stuff got serious then the feelings emerged.. Can't really envision Sui in anyother way I'm afraid..

I actually did like AnimeLito's ones. I did chachamaru for the first 6 episodes, then I accidently dled one of AnimeLito's, and yep the quality was much better, subs and all.

Although Ayu's are harder to read, I rather not be mis-lead by a less complicated translation. But AnimeLito did have a good balance between speed and quality... so no complaints really.

I am very obssessed with subtlety, deceit, murder and poison (and daggers. Pretty much why I played WoW like a cat on catnip) and yet at the very moment I watch Rozen Maiden, I became hooked.

And yeah, the one reason why I watched Rozen Maiden in the first place was the picture of Gin-sama in Piro's rants in Megatokyo. I find her design, especially those 'unique' eyes and haughty looks and the silver hair very very intriguing.

I have to agree with you, and her happy face is all wrong too, if I saw the white Gin elsewhere I would not have reconised her.

So guys, new topic. Do you guys think Suiseiseki's relationship with Jun will improve at all in the third season. After watching traumend, it seems like Suiseiseki is really trying to make an attempt to get Jun to like her more. What do you guys think?



Personally I think their relationship started improving in S1 when Jun jumps in front of Gins attack and then she sacrifices Sui Dream to save Jun. S2 was just a continuation of their relationship thats based on her outwards superiority complex over Jun. She was really trying to get Jun to like her in S2 and the way she gets jealous is just so cute. Out of Shinku and Sui, I think Sui has the most emotional need for Jun to improve himself and realise any special maestro powers he has, so he can revive Sou. The thing is how will she deal with it? Will she pile the pressure on and beat him into shape or will she be supportive and try to nurture him? I can imagine if it is the first then that may drive a wedge between them, since the supportive words of wisdom approach of Shinku seems to work the best with him.

Just give us a jealousy part between Shinku and Suiseiseki, and Gin-sama Kunkun-fangirl mode and we will be happy.

And more Kanaria antics.

I can't imagine Shinku acting jealous as she would just expect to be the one that is most loved :p

Now.., in what relates to a previous discussion about sub's..
I first did pull Traumend from chachamaru's.., I had read all the comments before I downloaded it.., so naturaly I had in mind more or less how the quality was..
All and all it wasn't bad for the first fansub by that group.., but still.., definitly not in the same quality as Ayu.

I rarely complain about the fansub's.., each group surely does the best they can.. and we all should be thankfull enough for they're work in bringing us the series.
Still.. one of my main interests is without a doubt quality.., so naturaly once Ayu came out with Rozen Maiden Traumend.. I downloaded it immediatly.

Out of most groups I have seen Ayu definitly makes great sub's.., I for one would wait for they're fansub on a serie if I knew they where making it.., even if that implied waiting a long while.., kind of like happened with Traumend.

But we can always download the first fansub's that come along and then later for archive use the better ones, which naturaly take more time to be developed.
And I do guess many do that :)

All and all... This topic still needs more Gin pictures.. and not ecchi ! :p

Oh yeah, really good that you remembered that.

Try adding the japanese unicode language from the Windows Control Panel and see what happens. But you have to reboot first.

First of all I got that Drama CD and artbook not through torrents, but through EMule (google it.) EMule is quite a hassle compared to torrents though...

The filename had no Japanese in it, still tried to rename it and extract but it still won't work.
The other so called 'artbooks' you see are nothing but packs similar to desu/unyuu packs.
But the other one(highlighted), was 218.37 MB so it had to be the artbook.
& This file is too big for Rapidshare. If anybody knows a file hosting site w/ bigger Max. file size. tell me and I'll upload it.

I got this friend hu is an avid anime fan (passionate abt FMA, Ergo Proxy, and GITS:SAC) and when I say "you gotta watch Rozen Maiden" on msn he goes "-.-". Then I try "It has the most posts in teh Fansub section of Animesuki." and he keeps going "-.-" -_-

An analogy is America's Apple and Singapore's Creative. More Singaporeans buy ipods despite the fact that Creative mp3 players do have more functions and are generally superior.

So I hope that answers your question. Just have a look around the stores here and what they sell and u'll see the future is kinda bleak for RM on this sunny island.

I believe the correct term here is Scanlation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scanlation).

The Scanlation community is in its infancy so I think they will only sub series that are more "marketable" as well. Plus there are really too much manga out there to choose from as comapred to anime.

There are chinese releases of RM manga in Singapore. (Which are all Taiwan Published and can be found at Kinokuniya and Comic Connection if you have a keen eye) So far volume 1 ~ 3 has been released.

But the other one(highlighted), was 218.37 MB so it had to be the artbook.
& This file is too big for Rapidshare. If anybody knows a file hosting site w/ bigger Max. file size. tell me and I'll upload it.

Shinku just received the latest KunKun DVD volume, with the bonus "KunKun trash the living daylights out of Laplace" omake, in the mail. Kanaria is looking for her glasses, which shattered as soon as she tried playing her volin like an electric guitar [or maybe she saw Flo's HG ava :p]. Hina is showing Jun the letter version two that just came by local direct mail, which as usual is illegible and this time contains her sketch of Jun and Tomoe together enjoying strawberry unyu... No doubt, it was murder. SuiseiSeki wants to be in Jun's lap, but her Jun-modelled cookies didnt quite turn out right. SuginTou is enjoying her LacticAcidBacteria and has that look on her face because she can't wait to sneak off with Shinku's KunKun Detective Costume [in light of the pic solwyvern posted below, make that KunKun Stuffed-Toy Figurine] as soon as Shinku is glued to the TV. SouseiSeki is dead, she's just been propped up by Jun's sis. (thats harsh)

After getting my kun-kun detective set and observing the image, I can conclude that..

Hina draw a picture of Jun & Shinku together and his showing it to him ; Jun is embarresed by the picture ; Shinku is blushing becacuse of the picture ; Suisei Seki is angry at Hina for drawing the picture and also at Jun because he is embarresed by it - we all know that Sui wants to be the center of the attentions :p
; Kana definitly tripped and landed with her head on the ground ; Sousei Seki is drinking Tea - she is not bothered by all the commotion arround ; and last.. Gin is surprised or should I say astonished at the picture of Jun & Shinku..

Actually, that picture of Gin-chan, Shinku and Suiseiseki comes from the Megami Magazine's April issue. There is an artbook for the Rozen Maiden anime titled 'Rozen Maiden - Eeteru Roze' (I put the second part of the title in Romaji as I'm not too sure how the English/German spelling is supposed to be... Sorry!) But basically in Japanese it's 「ローゼンメイデン エーデルローゼ 」

It contains a synopsis, episode based on the first Rozen Maiden series as well as character designs of the characters and if I'm not wrong, some background designs. Also they have interviews with the director as well as the seiyuus for Shinku (Sawashiro Miyuki) and Jun (Sanada Asami)

There is supposed to be another fanbook that was out in March for Traumend but I'm not sure if it's an official fanbook as it is not reflected in Peach-Pit's homepage.

About Singaporeans liking trash like Bleach etc, I wouldn't call them trash. Just that people have different tastes. Of course tried and tested stuff will be more marketable here as the case with anywhere else. Whatever brings in the $$ counts. Also, no offense but Rozen Maiden isn't really a very mainstream manga to begin with. It's published in Birz which in my opinion isn't really mainstream considering the genres of the mangas they publish in their comic magazine.

And Apple and Creative have both strong and weak points. It really depends on what you are looking for.

mmmm... this might be stupid of me to say but.., I am realy not english so.., I haven't a clue what a makura is.., I couldn't even tell by the pictures..

Hop on the same boat as us..., altough we have discussed ALOT of the major issues about many issues left over when Traumended ended.., I guess I speak for most if not everyone when I say we will only be satisfied after watching a possible season 3.

All and all, currently though we have came to good conclusions on alot of topics ( if you have the pacience to scroll back a few pages :p ), but never the less we realy need some more episodes to confirm our speculations.

Plus.. its Rozen Maiden..., to me one of the best anime ever done, I'd wish for a 3rd season and more to come :)

I too agree it was a fair fight.., in fact, despite beeing short, it was extreamly well animated and planned out; each time they change a form of attack to counter the other is just very well done.

Shinku gets the final blow by beeing faster though, we see that Bara had Sou's scissors and Shinku was faster with her cain delivering a blow to the stomach... then the massive rose petal blast speaks for itself.

It was a great fight though, I can't wait for in season 3 to see Gin teaming up with Shinku or something similar to fight Kira :)

Anyway.., please escuse me now while I go crucify myself a bit for realising that I will never be able to get that Gin makura.. whatever they are :p

I mean, nothing about the dolls have really been resolved, furthermore, the hints about not having to have fight to become Alice really hints towards an even bigger possibility for a third season, or at least OVA's I guess.

About your towel, use a decent picture frame to prevent it from stretching and protect it from dust. If you live in a humid area and your frame is not sealed then get some silica gel to prevent it from going moldy. Also keep it out of direct sunlight.

Nature unfortuantly is your worst enemy when trying to preserve something unless it is scrolls in the dead sea...

Actually, that picture of Gin-chan, Shinku and Suiseiseki comes from the Megami Magazine's April issue. There is an artbook for the Rozen Maiden anime titled 'Rozen Maiden - Eeteru Roze' (I put the second part of the title in Romaji as I'm not too sure how the English/German spelling is supposed to be... Sorry!) But basically in Japanese it's 「ローゼンメイデン エーデルローゼ 」

that CD is pretty good. the barasuisho story was funny. i think that was a kujibiki unabalance joke about her growing up and becoming his wife. then it switched to something like my wife is a highschool student. it was funny.

For WTF it was the KK x BB (Bastard Bunny), but for enjoyment it was the whole thing. I really liked the way that the story played out in my mind as I listened to it. I didn't try to hard to think how it would fit in continuity wise :p. The making of it just seemed so much fun, and it was great to see the true hero of RM is Hina as she can go where no other maiden has been to on her own namely the post box. Also she was able to tame the dreaded beast.

dakimakura = 抱き枕 (japanese kanji) a makura is a pillow. a hug pillow to be exact. one that you place on your bed and hug to sleep. It is a very popular item to get besides collecting PVC figures. I've gotten quite a few already of various animes around.

I live in the US and to buy all these things you need to be able to search through Yahoo Japan Auctions (Ebay, but in Japan) and use a deputy service to help you buy stuff. There are very many services around. I use a few.

I highly recommend ShoppingMallJapan (http://www.shoppingmalljapan.com) (SMJ for short)

This service will help you bid and buy stuff on Yahoo Japan Auctions.

Oh, about raid? So far, all my raids were Open PVP raids, you know, one large army of very angry Horde vs another army of very angry Alliance? Being an evil bastard I am, I stay away in stealth from the main group and then move in and take out strays, racking honor in the process.

Though I hope that by next month, I will be able to go MC or Onyxia or BWL. There are epics there I lust for.

And regarding Gin, it will be nice to see Gin-sama flying from telephone pole to telephone pole, carrying that large suitcase, while looking for a place to live.

And eventually gave up after 3 days and move into the hospital.

And had to find a way to hide her suitcase from the nurses.

And in the process, made people think the place is haunted.

Theres nothing really obstrusive about the case, "its just a doll case" is what Megu can tell everyone.

That will be great to see. Suigintou trying to change Megu's mentality. Pretty much what Shinku did to Jun in Season 1.

Though her occasional evil laughter when in hospital will creep some patients out. I would also love to see people dragging exorcists into the hospital just because Suigintou made people think the hospital is haunted, by laughing evilly in various places and make black feathers appear in rather strange places.

That and not to mencione the burocracy's and time things as such usualy take to where I live..., let me tell you..., living in Portugal and about 365km from its capitol (Lisbon) doesn't make your life easy on anything...
Specialy with the countrie's policy's and lack of consideration by part of the mail company that holds the monopoly here..

It is possible to live in the N-Field, father does it; even the rabbit you all hate does it aswell.

We did see a change in Jun's heart (N-field) but that doesn't mean that no one could live there anymore.., same goes for Gin's N-field, even despite having been messed with by Bara with the quartz crystals they could still venture in there.

We saw that a N-field only "sleeps" when a person "dies".. like example when Hina's Rosa Mystica left her body we all saw what happened to her N-field.., just went into a peacefull slumber; I take it the same would happen if a real person died..

In fact though it is mencioned when they travel into the Old Man's N-field (Sou's master) that they do have a limited time to stay in it, otherwhise they would be forever trapped inside; so naturaly it is possible to stay in one.., maybe even more then what you'd expect :p

Megu has literly lost the will to live..., because of her illness (which we don't exactly know what it is) she blames herself for causing everyone she cares about to much worrie and consearn, its a self-flagelation mentality.. but we cannot realy blame her..

Anyway.., she does say everyone would be better off if she just died.., in fact she menciones it alot... Henceforth I am led to belive that she does care about her parents, she sees that they always are worried about her condition and she then blames herself for it.

So naturaly they did not abandone her..., the constant trips to the hospital have just been so frequent that they at the time just stopped comming as much to see her..

Megu in fact does mencione one time that her fathers came to see her at the hospital one afternoon (Gin wasn't there), and that they even asked her if she wanted them to hire someone to look out for her better (which she said no).
Then when Gin returned she told her this and asked her once more to consume her life..

As for the current topic discussion. I think Megu has been effectively abandoned by her parents, so even if she gets better, she will not have a place to stay. On that subject, I do not think she will get better, no way, not in her frame of mind -- that girl wants to be ill and is dying to die.. (unless Gin convinces her otherwise, which would be nice to see in S3). So anyway, I think the best place would be the hospital, why not. Theres nothing really obstrusive about the case, "its just a doll case" is what Megu can tell everyone.

I wouldn't say Megu's still like that, even at the end of Traumend. I can get a glimpse of how hard it might be to live your entire life alone without friends or people to talk to, and that's probably the reason why she's lost her will to live anyway. Now that Gin's around, she's probably not that lonesome anymore (Even though we know Gin for her expressing-self :heh:). But still, she's sick, and it'd be nice to see her getting better somehow.

We did see a change in Jun's heart (N-field) but that doesn't mean that no one could live there anymore.., same goes for Gin's N-field, even despite having been messed with by Bara with the quartz crystals they could still venture in there.

We saw that a N-field only "sleeps" when a person "dies".. like example when Hina's Rosa Mystica left her body we all saw what happened to her N-field.., just went into a peacefull slumber; I take it the same would happen if a real person died..

In fact though it is mencioned when they travel into the Old Man's N-field (Sou's master) that they do have a limited time to stay in it, otherwhise they would be forever trapped inside; so naturaly it is possible to stay in one.., maybe even more then what you'd expect

Actually, it happens to Jun's N-Field as well. Remember the first time they got in? Jun asked, after Suisei Seki tried to water his "tree", "So how do we get out?", Shinku answered "We don't know.", and he freaked out. I think that the dolls are able to go in and out of people's dreams easly, however humans are a different story.

And if I did have 800 bucks to spend on a RM doll (I have, however I need to buy myself a car first =\), I would without second thoughts. I'd be a little saddened because there's a sword I've been wanting to buy, but anything for RM :P

You mean real true-to-size porcelain dolls? Well... they do have specialized collections of porcelain dolls, but I really doubt that RMs will be part of them; doesn't seem to me that the studio will bother getting that serious in merchandising. Or am I wrong? In anycase, maybe you can enlist the services of SMJ (http://www.shoppingmalljapan.com/). If you need help, milkmandan knows how to use them. :)

If I ever saw a RM doll of high enough quality (porcelain and real clothes etc) I would spend 800 dollars on it if I could afford it. I wonder will one ever be made and how much it would cost?

I don't think one will be made; unless a pro doll maker watches RM and buys the license from the company.

Actually, I wouldnt want her getting well in some miraculous unexplained manner; that would give it the feel of being another plot device, or cheesy feel good moment (unless Gin heals her, which I'd accept.) I would more prefer her just having a change of mindset, (influenced by Gin) for the better, in that she accepts her situation, but yet makes the most out of it.
