I heard about the KoJika OVA and posted it on my blog (http://giapet.net/), and there I was informed by a reader (http://giapet.net/2008/07/13/the-kodomo-no-jikan-never-ends/#comment-8927)-- who has the DVD that came with v5 of the manga, or else knows someone who does --that the OVA actually IS the second season.

Ahh yeah, the new Kodomo no Jikan OVA series is the second season that was announced before.

Even looking at MoonPhase's anime list confirms this:
http://www.moonphase.cc/Html/anime.html

The second season was moved under the OVA list.

Thanks for the info giapet :) I'll remove the above post.

It's not that any of the OVA episodes already released are the second season. A second season is coming, but it'll be released as an OVA series. Maybe I was the only one getting confused, but there you have it... :heh:

Edit: Too slow. :heh:

"Both Tsubasa Chronicle and xxxHOLiC are getting Original Animation DVD (OAD) releases with upcoming volumes of their respective manga in a new CLAMP and Production I.G project. The first one, an xxxHOLiC episode, will come out with volume 14 of the xxxHOLiC manga in January of 2009, and the subsequent Tsubasa Chronicle episode will come out in February 2009 with volume 26 of the Tsubasa Chronicle manga. Moonphase updated their site, and... I'm not quite sure whether to be happy or upset.

This is NOT good news for Bleach fans. Stitch!, Disney and Madhouse's reimagining of the Lilo & Stitch franchies, will be replacing Bleach come this October 2008 on TV-Tokyo and affiliates. It will also be airing on the Disney Channel. Stitch is scheduled to air at 7:30PM on Wednesday. No exact date was given other than sometime in October.

I'm wondering if they're changing timeslots for Bleach...

Looking at that list of what's coming out, it looks like I'll have to clear up some hard drive space. summer for me wasn't that great. a few shows to follow, but mostly catching up on older stuff that's been collecting webs on my drive. Not fun for me.
We'll see how things go though. HOPEFULLY I'll have a nice full season where I'm pulling my hair trying to manage 5-10 shows again >_> (reminds self to update list)

From MangaUpdates:

Think of it like WWII, except every country is a pretty boy instead. A hilariously stereotypical pretty boy. America loves burgers, Russia is into the vodka, and China has pandas and a Wok.

It is centered mostly around Italy, who has both a North and South character. The Hetaria portion of the name is probably mocking Italy, as Hetare means 'Useless'

So Madhouse will animate four Marvel series. Wonder which will it be? Most likely Spider-Man considering how popular it is in Japan, X-Men is also another possibility they did air the 90's animated X-Men and reanimated the opening by a Japanese studio, the other two could be FF4 and Ironman.

Yes it ended early due to very low sales which just leaves one word in mind when I see that it's getting an anime, why?

Also this is one manga adaption where I'm hoping they heavily rewrite things because frankly it needs it.

Heh I was to post the same thing. Yeah hope they do certain things differently in the anime, did not like how the characters were introduce in the manga made it hard and confusing as to who was the main character(s) or if it was going to follow anyone specifiably also concentrate more on the interesting characters or even cut certain characters because they weren't interesting at all.

Early death of the manga can't always be used as a predictor; just look at "Strawberry Panic". Two tankoban, only reaching the end of the first novel, then the manga dies; followed by an anime that only very distantly relates to either. It seems that all is fair in love and anime :p

I don't know whether to feel happy or disconcerted about this announcement. Again, a choice I don't understand at all :heh:. If it’s something like Okawari, oh please, don’t give us more…

Anyway, I guess it’s better to see which studio is going to do this supposedly third installment before I get my hopes up—or down. I thoroughly enjoyed the first series, but I felt somewhat disappointed with the second. If they decide to do something with the Minami-ke franchise, they should stick with the manga this time around—which Okawari did not do as far as I know.

Oh wow, this could single-handedly counteract all the moe fanservice out there and restore balance to the Universe. Surely though they're not going to try and squeeze the whole thing into 11 episodes - perhaps they'll just adapt part of the manga and leave the door open to future seasons?

I'm ashamed to say that after all these years I still haven't read the novel. It seems that the Tyler Genji (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tale_of_Genji#English_translations) is the one to get - I've just been reading a lecture (http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/tylerlecture.html) by the distinguished gentleman that I commend to all our hard-working and underappreciated TLs:

... I used to assume that in many people's estimation there is no point in redoing a work that has already been "done,'' since what matters is to make it "available,'' as they say, in English and then move on. In other words, once the work has been "introduced'' in English, there is no point in "introducing'' it again. I took it for granted that this issue would have been forgotten by now in the case of the Western classics, their "introduction'' phase having passed long ago; but Robert Fagles told me that people ask him, too, why in the world he translated the Iliad and the Odyssey yet again. Those who ask the question do not understand that the job of translation will never be done for good, and that, in any case, there will always be people like me who like to translate, whether their product is needed or not.
I was soon wondering what had given me the idea that I had ever understood a single paragraph. I could only look back wistfully on the experience of translating a book of folktales by the French writer Henri Pourrat. French being a language I actually know, I just typed. Genji was very different, but I persevered until I actually got to the end. Perhaps that is success enough for one lifetime.

Kawasumi Ayako is a sorta surprise choice for Reina on the Queen's Blade drama CD. A casting rumor for several characters dating back to May 2008 had pegged Hirano Aya as Reina in the Queen's Blade televison animation series.

(Some Japanese fans thought Nakahara Mai would be cast as Reina.)

On the other hand, that same casting rumor did have Tanaka Rie as Nyx in the Queen's Blade TV anime series.

Maybe more on this later, including other rumored voice actor casting choices for the Queen's Blade TV anime series, as well as seiyuu who voiced characters on prior Queen's Blade drama CDs.

Unless they get Sekirei'd again, it looks like Kawasumi Ayako (Musubi on the Sekirei drama CD) will play Reina and Tanaka Rie (Tsukiumi on the Sekirei drama CD) will play Nyx in the Queen's Blade TV anime series.

Pretty sure they mean it's a continuation of the current series, just divided into two nonsequential cours.

Either that or they decided to just throw the alphabetical titles to the wind, and will be covering stuff at an absolutely nutty pace for the last couple episodes of Revolution.

100% certain? No. But making an announcement at the end of a series where everything points towards it being an unfinished story that you're making a new series that'll be be starting with an unfinished story and then a break seems... silly.

Essentially, the author's comment on the division of the 'future' series describes the situation that the current series is in. It's completely possible that he means that there'll be another series that does what the current series is doing now, but I find that a bit of a stretch, especially if it's just on the semantic definition of what exactly 'new series' entails, be it totally different production, or a new batch of episodes.

Of course, this is reading a shitload into a two sentence blurb, so I'm going to sleep.

Very true, it looks like this is his first big TV series after doing some well-known films and episode directing and storyboarding on some big shows among other projects so hopefully he'll be pretty ambitious/motivated with this if the scifi novel supports such a thing and it's not a low-key type storyline since I don't know anything more than what ANN wrote, I'd love to see that. Kurosawa’s Final Script to be Animated
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reportedly, a multi-national production partnership will develop an animated feature film based on the late Oscar-winning director Akira Kurosawa’s final screenplay “The Mask of the Black Death.” Kurosawa and co-writer Masato Ide developed the “Black Death” script as an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s 1842 short story “The Masque of the Red Death,” moving the original story’s setting from medeval Europe to early 20th century Russia.

The animated film will be produced by Japanese companies Kurosawa Production and Lotus, American based companies Lexicon Film Entertainment & Harbor Light Entertainment, and Singapore based Upside Down Entertainment for release in 2010, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Kurosawa’s birth.

Not a whole lot I'm interested in but that can change depending on what I see.

Didn't expect to see a new 'Casshern' being made. Didn't expect to see a new 'Z Mazinger' on the list either. Hmmm...I wonder if 'Gurren Lagann' jolted some minds to take a trip back to the good old days.

Well, here's my list of stuff I'm hoping to check out.

-Appleseed Genesis Does anyone have any insight to how the animation is going to be handled?

Kiddy Grade 2 Yeah always down for some more pandering.
Tetsuwan Birdy: Decode I'm always down for some more. Enjoyed the first half. Gotta finish.
Queen's Blade It's boobs and more boobs. Hisayuki is involved and I may have to check this out. Yeah, I'm a glutton for punishment. Looks like another excuse to make more doujins AS IF THEY REALLY NEEDED A REASON.
Haruhi 2nd Season Where would I be without more Haruhi? Now the question is will 'Kyoto Animation Studio' be able to pull off another cool dance number?

Y'know there's a lot more shows they can tap into from the past I'd like to see.
