So if I understood you right, there was no second version of Piano no Mori at all. It's always the same manga? That would be good... for instance, I always had the impression that there were several versions of Tokko.
Yes, there's only one Piano no Mori manga. Its just that the first 9 volumes (which got serialized in Young Magazine Uppers) got republished with new covers.
The manga started in Young Magazine Uppers and continued in Morning.
Anyway, if anyone is interested, read this pretty interesting article about Morning magazine :)
25 Years of Morning (http://www.comipress.com/article/2006/11/26/1065)
I think this is simply amazing. I've always considered Freesia to be too weird for this.
Yeah, I thought so too.
But I want an anime damn it :heh:
Edit:
And the 1000th post is mine :P LOL
A new Ikkitousen anime, Ikkitousen2 so to say, has been announced.
You can already tell be looking at the official site that they tend to stick a lot more to the manga then the original series did. Also - the characters from the second part of the manga are all there.. so its hard to say if they'll be starting from the start of the series, carrying on where it left of.. or just retelling the story in a whole new way. Shall be good finding out~

Woa. Thanks for the info. I wouldnt mind a whole new and better remake (like Kanon2006/negima!? sort of). Recently there seem to be a lot remakes.
The Ikkitousen story was kinda cheezy and exxegareted heroic/sterioutype at times, while the setting of the story and the atmosphere were pretty good. It was like a anime show with great potential, but it was kinda messed up (even with the animation quality). It could have been another Tengou tenge, and while it might have been interesting and exiting at times, all in all it was rather disapointing.
Thats why I hope for a remake, just in case the manga is any better.
And i got shocking news.
I dont know why anime nation news and blogs are writing about the new Naruto anime coming out spring or early 2007, but as far as my crappy google translations are concerned, we might have to wait untill summer 2007 (which means ~July 1rst/2nd/3rd/4th, around that time). That would mean we still gotto bear with anouther ~30 crappy episodes.

Summer of 07!

Wait for the follow-up story!
EDIT: Accorting to narutofan.com the new naruto movie of the same name also playing in the new timeline will air this summer, while the new series will start february. I hope they are right.

Hakufu doesn't look as cute in that screencap as she did in the first series... :( Misleading, I hope, since she was the hottest and the cutest character in the first series. It looks like the rest of the characters got a nice upgrade, though.

I'm very happy for Unison-Shift now that Nanatsuiro★Drops is getting an anime. I finished the main heroine's path today (just 11 hours ago) and I have to say that this game was truly a wonderful experience. I really hope the anime goes along with Sumomo's path.
I'd be kind of disappointed if it went Nona's or Nadeshiko's way, especially when you know how long Sumomo has had a crush on Haru and how much courage she had to build up to approach him.I really hope for a surprise from Studio Barcelona, and as somebody already mentioned, yes, seiyuu need to stay the same. If they do a good job, they are surely getting my money. Unison-Shift's game was worth every yen of it.
EDIT:
And another anime:
Loli Loli Loli >.< Loli Loli Loli >.< Loli Loli Loli >.<
==========
ななついろ★ドロップス
Nanatsuiro★Drops
Hopefully it will get an anime, a loli loli anime
If you actually played the game, you would know that it's not loli at all (it is very moe however). Even Toua has teenage bosoms. Your posts often feel like that they contain no love for the titles which are announced. Just hype created from hearing of properties' popularity. That's kind of sad. :|

Even if the characters are in their 40's, and they look like little elementary children, then if I want to call them loli, I'll call them loli.

Sorry for not putting enough Yays in my posts. Just tell me what bishoujo titles you like so if they ever get animated, I'll know that these titles have to be handled with care and lots of Yays.

SUSHIO!
One of the upcoming animators who used to work at Gainax (I think he's freelance now?)
And the BotS director huh... hm. Let's see.
But Sushio!! Jesus CHrist and all the other $deities and $gods out there. I'm probably getting too excited over this but at this rate I can be guaranteed at least 3 episodes of Exciting Animation Stuff unless of course something gets majorly screwed up.
Just that... what is the story going to be about... I'm scared that with all these mecha things coming out I'm going to get oversaturated and sick of them even if they're decently done...
And a new brooding-looking BONES anime eh. I have a feeling it'll be aimed at girls. Okamura Tensai sure as hell is very lucky with his proposals; I heard Wolf's Rain flopped in Japan but here he is still going on strong...

Is that like a Moonlight Lady sequel or something?
Well, I don't know which series you are talking about, but this game is the sequel of 顔のない月 (Kao no Nai Tsuki, loosely translate to "faceless moon", and still looks better than most avg games in the market even after 6 years).
There is a h anime conversion for the first game, but seeing that this time the news is being posted on Avex, I am guessing the anime for the second game is not h.

Well, I'm talking about this Moonlight Lady series (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2709) of which Media Blasters brought it over. It was originally called Kao no nai Tsuki so that's why I thought those two have a relationship.

Wow.. a Carnelian anime I'm looking forward to ... well, no wonder the production staffs are all there since Carnelian is the same studio which made Yami to Boushi.
And since Kao no Nai Tsuki has a quite decent storyline to boot other than the H contents, a non-H anime is very likely to be made to help promote the new game launch.
Higurashi Second Season? Hopefully they will cover the complete Onisarashi-hen and Yoigoshi-hen side stories rather than making a whole new plot or viewpoint.

Moonlight Mile '1st Season'?
WOWOW (http://www.wowow.co.jp/anime/moonlight/) launched their official website for the upcoming Moonlight Mile animation series which will begin in March. Of note is text on the top of the page (reading "1st Season -Lift Off-") which perhaps points toward greater things to come in the future for this just announced series.

Yeah, it's due somewhere around December. Its listed on moonphase (http://www.moonphase.cc/Html/anime.html)'s list of upcoming anime. I hope he's got time to do a proper job on Nodame Cantabile. My biggest worry is J.C.'s animation... their digital imaging/composite department is great (especially in Honey and Clover, awesome effects) but their actual animation is quite cheap, most of the time :(
Not December. Fansubber of Major (Minor Ja Nai), along with the main site on NHK's Major site confirms a January '07 release date for the anime.
Major in January? That's great. But the last ep of major 2nd season stated there december release.

Glad that Major is still continuing, though it's lost its first season magic. Still haven't finished S2 yet, though =X

What? Sangokushi as in Romance of the Three Kingdoms? There's a seinen magazine called SANGOKUSHI Magazine? There's gonna be a new anime about Romance of the Three Kingdoms?
Oh man, I'm in total heaven.
As of now there are 7 manga titles running in Comic Sangokushi Magazine that have the word "Sangokushi" in their title.
As to how much these manga are related to Romance of the Three Kingdoms (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romance_of_the_Three_Kingdoms), I don't know.

I'm actually quite glad with the flood of mecha for next year. I sat through much of this year and last grinding my teeth at the endless conversions of mostly boring and trite dating sim games with a few decent exceptions, which weren't really dating sims at all. So its kind of my turn now as a fan of the 70s-90s period this is something of a revival for me. As long as they don't mess it up like they're doing with shows like Soukou No Strain and the genre doesn't head in that shows direction I'll be a really happy camper very soon. Also hopefully they still provide for other folks needs and this doesn't become an alternating thing. I'm honestly a bit worried that the anime market is going to start seesawing back and forth every year between old school hotblooded stuff and newer sentimental stuff. Everybody should get to win here.
Yeah, I know what you mean. There hasn't been many good mecha anime out lately, most of the ones that came out were, well not out very good. But you know what there are so many naimes like, same goes with movies, that basically nearly all original idea is gone. Basically they're a modified copy of the original or something. But eh who knows, I LOVE ANIME AND CAN'T WAIT FOR SOME NEW GOOD ONES TO COME OUT!!

I think the whole "Anime is getting boring lately because there were nothing but lame eroge conversions" is pretty exaggerated. In fact, in the last few years, I've seen many game conversions which were actually GOOD (Nanoha, Canvas 2, SHUFFLE, Air, Kanon 2006, Tokimeki Memorial).
I agree about the mecha shortage, but the only way you'll get annoyed by "too many dating sim/eroge conversions" is if you watch too many dating sim/eroge conversions. In my opinion, every season has had at least two must watch titles, which isn't too bad. You'll only suffer if you somehow have the time to watch anime all day and every day, but if you usually follow 3-4 series a season anyway, then there's plenty to watch unless you have VERY specific tastes.
http://www.d-black.net/ is working now. One of the main characters, I think, is a cybernetic cat?
Regarding Darker than BLACK, I got a look at the article in close detail. (Hey, I'm not putting my $15+ to waste...) As you can see in the website, interestingly the characters seem to be called by the Chinese pronounciation of their codenames. Hm.
The main character, 黒 (Hei (Black)) is some super top-class agent, at The Organisation (well, it's just called 'soshiki'...)
He's one of the best in this group of people with supernatural powers, called... "keiyakusha" (contractee? Don't forget the name of the show is Darker Than BLACK - Kuro no Keiyakusha... The Black Contractee?)
The scan describes him as a 他人に心を許さない孤独な男 - a solitary guy who won't allow others in his heart. Ah, is this the 10249th time I've heard of this?... And am I going to fall for it again? ._.
Currently he is posing as a timid Chinese university student called 李舜生 (Li Shun Sheng, if I am not wrong).
The seemingly lead female, 銀 (Yin (Silver)) is a support staff in Hei's team. She seems normal but she's got absolutely no emotions at all and is sometimes called "Doll". She's also blind, but her other senses have been honed to such a level that she can... instantaneously understand the physical situation around her for a radius of 50m (半径50m以内の状況を瞬時に把握する)
Then there's your customary oyaji, 黄 (Huang (Yellow)). He's the team's manager and supervisor, collates information and acts as the team's connection to The Organisation, but he is not a "keiyakusha". (Going by the site it seems that he's a bit jealous of them, too?) His age is unclear but it seems that he's younger than he looks. He's the type of guy who'll do anything for money.
And finally there's 黒猫 (just plain ol' Mao - the kanji should read "Hei Mao" which is black cat, but "mao" just means cat.). Hay guys, it's a cat who can talk and acts as the team's information gatherer... but that's becausehe used to be a man - and a "keiyakusha" to boot, but for the time being he's posessing a black cat and I think he's lost his original body (本来の肉体を失ってしまった). The parts of his mind that couldn't be supported by the cat's brain are stored on a LAN server where they're connected wirelessly to the brain...
Well at least that's interesting, I've always wondered at the back of my head how, in those serious stories where people change into animals, the human memory and thought processes and whatnot could possibly fit into and be carried out properly by an animal brain (or, why they don't have enlarged heads or something like that).
The show is billed as a 独自の世界観が光るスパイアクション (a spy action show featuring a characteristic worldview?). Seems like it's the director's pet project; he really just had the idea of doing a spy show set in Tokyo brewing in his head I think...
Except that it's not really Tokyo, because now there's a 10m wide, pitch-black dark space called "Hell's Gate", stuck right in the middle of it. It is impenetrable and is called an 異空間 so perhaps it's some sort of alternative dimension. And I ahve to go now so the rest might come later when I feel like it, but it's probably been posted on this forum anyway, by now...
But somehow it seems kind of uninspiring, to be honest. The character designs are, at least...

From Anime News Service (http://animenewsservice.com/):
Big Names On New 2007 Toei Animation Works
Among Toei Animation's upcoming projects for 2007 are Tori No Uta (Bird's Song), A day of a girl @TYO and Eko Eko Azaraku. For Tori No Uta Yoshitaka Amano will create the script, storyboards as well as direct. Eko Eko Azaraku is of course based on the seminal horror manga by Shinichi Koga. The story was adapted to live action film in 1995. Koga will return to draft a scrip and storyboards for this new version, Directing will be Nagae Toshikazu (Ghost System). Look for the above 2 works in January. Due in March A day of a girl @TYO will be based on the original story by Hayashi Seiichi. Mikimoto Haruhiko (Macross) will do storyboards and character designs. Toei has partnered with ga-anime (http://www.ganime.jp/) to produce these works with a new animation style in mind.

Toei Animation Press Release (http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/corporate/press/topic/press061109-2.html)
["Ga-nime" DVD Scheduled Sale (March 2007) Work Title]
A day of a girl @TYO (Tentative)
Original Work & Art : Mikimoto Haruhiko
Director : Kaneko Atsuji
Models & Cast : Akiyama Nana, Tanaka Rie, Koshimizu Ami
Famous for character designs in Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, Gunbuster and a number of other works, Mikimoto Haruhiko (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=43) draws illustrations modeled on three actresses. The story revolves around daily life scenes of girls living in Tokyo.
Akiyama (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&oe=ISO-8859-1&q=Akiyama+Nana&btnG=Search+Images&nojs=1) Nana (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Akiyama+Nana) is a Japanese gravure idol, model, and actress.
Tanaka Rie (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=697) and Koshimizu Ami (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=17254) are Japanese voice actresses (seiyuu).
Using actresses as models for designing characters reminds me of the love simulation game / gal game from Enterbrain, KimiKiss (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=KimiKiss) (Kimi Kiss (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Kimi+Kiss)), in which they almost certainly modeled characters in the game after their voice actresses. In Kimi Kiss, Koshimizu Ami plays Hoshino Yuumi, the prereleased female lead character, while Tanaka Rie plays Futami Eriko (Eririn), the postreleased NO.1 most popular character. (forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=576194)
By the way, congratulations go out to Tanaka Rie and her character Lacus Clyne for finishing No. 2 and No. 1 in the seiyuu and favorite female character categories, respectively, in Newtype Japan for the year 2006. (http://tanaka-rie.com/bbs/netabarebbs/)
This marks the fourth straight year (2003-2006) Lacus Clyne from Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED DESTINY has been the annual #1 favorite female character in Newtype Japan, and the fifth straight year (2002-2006) that a Tanaka Rie character has won the honor. (Tanaka Rie's Chii from Chobits won it in 2002.)
Since the debut of Newtype Japan magazine back in 1985, no other female seiyuu has accomplished such a feat. And since that time, no other seiyuu, male or female, has won an annual favorite character category of Newtype Japan in consecutive years with two different characters. In post #921 (http://anime.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/voiceactor/1162573976/921) on the archived Tanaka Rie part 56*thread at 2ch, a Japanese fan (ID:tP13smemO) lists a number of characters in anime and games played by Tanaka Rie (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=697) according to their vocal register, in descending order, from those with the highest voice to those with the lowest voice.
01. Chii (Chi) in Chobits ***highest voice***
02. Meer Campbell in Gundam SEED DESTINY
03. Kujou Hikari (Shiny Luminous) in Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart
04. Lacus Clyne in Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED DESTINY
"Shizukana Yoru ni" ("In the Quiet Night") (http://smil.jvcmusic.co.jp/naviram?cd=SE9-16134&sid=ATVE) sung by Lacus Clyne (Tanaka Rie)

05. Ran in Otogi Story Tenshi no Shippo (Angel Tales) and Tenshi no Shippo Chu!
06. Simca in AIR GEAR
07. Sanada-san (Ms. Sanada) in UFO Princess Valkyrie (UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie)
08. Mizuhara Koyomi (Yomi) in Azumanga Daioh
"Sorezore no One way" ("Everyone's One Way") (http://www.content.loudeye.com/scripts/hurl.exe?clipid=084631801080009000&cid=600111) sung by Mizuhara Koyomi (Tanaka Rie)
09. Futami Eriko (Eririn) in Kimikiss (Kimi Kiss)
10. Kayama Akira in Uchuu no Stellvia (Stellvia)
11. Karen Erra in Phantasy Star Universe
12. Mariel in Hanaukyo Maid-tai (Hanaukyo Maid Team) and Hanaukyou Maid-tai La Verite (Hanaukyo Maid Team La Verite)
"Voice of heart" (http://www.content.loudeye.com/scripts/hurl.exe?clipid=082186201270009000&cid=600111) sung by Mariel (Tanaka Rie)
13. Tomoe Marguerite in Mai-Otome (My-Otome)
14. Suigintou (Ginsama) in Rozen Maiden and Rozen Maiden Traumend
15. Matsukata Hiroko in Hataraki Man
16. Sei in Bakuretsu Tenshi (Burst Angel)
"Breathe" (http://smil.jvcmusic.co.jp/naviram?cd=SE9-19031&sid=ATVE) sung by Sei (Tanaka Rie)
17. Lula (Rura; Rula; Lura) in RED GARDEN ***lowest voice***
Other characters with really low, deep voices by Tanaka Rie include Fila Marik in The Third ~Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo~, Leandra Cheviat (Sister Lain) in The Good Witch of the West - Astraea Testament (Nishi no Yoki Majo - Astraea Testament), and Bianchi (Bianki) in Katekyo Hitman REBORN!
Some Japanese viewers on a Katekyo Hitman REBORN! seiyuu (voice actor) thread at 2ch, in fact, have complained that Bianchi's voice is too deep. (And too scary.) They had expected Bianchi (http://khr.yosuga.net/info_char02.html) to sound like Suigintou, (http://www.tbs.co.jp/rozen-maiden/part1/menu/chara/suigin.html) with her comparatively higher voice.
Tanaka Rie's great range and versatility not only applies to her speaking voice, but extends to her singing voice as well. Check out the above official song samples.
According to one of her 2ch fans, at her Cafe de Rie TEA PARTY & LIVE held this past Sunday, December 3, 2006 in Tokyo - Tanaka Rie there sang a number of songs, including three Lacus Clyne songs, "Shizukana Yoru ni" "Mizu no Akashi" ("Token of Water") and "Fields of hope" - it was remarked that nowadays, ever since Mizuhara Koyomi (Yomi) in Azumanga Daioh - Matsukata Hiroko in Hataraki Man, Tomoe Marguerite in Mai-Otome (My-Otome), and so forth - there is much demand for Tanaka Rie's low voices, and much resultant (voice-related) work.
With her high pitched voice, Simca (http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/tv/airgear/character/chara06.html) in AIR GEAR seems to be a recent exception to the trend of numerous low voiced characters by Tanaka Rie.
Less Lacus, (http://www.gundamofficial.com/worlds/ce/seed/characters/chara_lacus.html) Meer (http://www.gundamofficial.com/worlds/ce/destiny/characters/chara_meer.html) and Chii (http://www.tbs.co.jp/chobits/old/chara/c_chi.html) ... and more Hiroko, (http://www.hataraki-anime.com/intro/img/intro_img1.gif) Lula (http://anime.excite.co.jp/redgarden/image/chara/rura.jpg) and Leandra (http://www.project-westwitch.net/character/reandora.html) appear to be in the future for Tanaka Rie.
In post #824 (http://anime.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/voiceactor/1162573976/824) on the aforementioned archived Tanaka Rie part 56 thread, one Japanese fan (ID:bnYRCJeXO) wrote this about Tanaka Rie:

Distinctive and Popular Voices - Distinctive, easily-recognizable voices - AnimeOnDVD.com - Powered by FusionBB (http://www.animeondvd.com/forum/showpost.php?post/325972/)
Gleaning millions of posts and thousands of threads on the Japanese message boards (anime {animation}, comic {manga}, game, etc.) of 2ch (http://www.2ch.net/) the past few years...
Japanese voice actors (seiyuu) Wakamoto Norio (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=954), Koyasu Takehito (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=662), and Noto Mamiko (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=3166) rank among the most recognizable and distinctive voices with 2ch posters. When referring to a character these voice actors play, 2ch posters frequently use their real or stage name instead of their character name.
On the other hand, the voice actor who 2ch posters seem to most closely identify with the characters they play is Tanaka Rie (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=697). When referring to Tanaka Rie, they often use one of her character names instead of her real name.
And more than for any other voice actor, 2ch posters mention Tanaka Rie's range and versatility, which help her portray a number of highly successful and very popular characters, according to facts and figures, who appeal to various and different demographics: Lacus (http://www.animenfo.com/anime/character/display.php?id=1115&n=rwbunc&t=lacus_clyne) Clyne (http://www.happinetonline.com/NASApp/mnas/MxMProduct?Action=prd_detail_pict&SHOP_ID=1&PRODUCT_ID=4543112452665) in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY; Kujou Hikari (Shiny Luminous) (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=640529&postcount=638) in Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart; Suigintou (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=474812&postcount=503) in Rozen Maiden and Rozen Maiden Traumend; Chii (Chi) (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Chii+Newtype+favorite+female) in Chobits; Futami Eriko (Eririn) (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=576194) in Kimi Kiss (Kimikiss)... and Matsukata Hiroko, the main character in Hataraki Man (Hatarakiman) (http://www.hataraki-anime.com/).
Unlike other manga-based titles, Hataraki Man has no smash hit live action movies like DEATH NOTE and NANA do, and no popular live action television series like Nodame Cantabile does, to bolster the subsequent anime version.
DEATH NOTE (Yagami Light and L), NANA (Oosaki Nana and Komatsu Nana {Hachi}), and Nodame Cantabile (Noda Megumi {Nodame} and Chiaki Shin'ichi) feature, more or less, two lead characters. Hataraki Man has only one lead character, Matsukata Hiroko.
In her starring role as Matsukata Hiroko in Hataraki Man, Tanaka Rie once again demonstrates her knack for reaching out beyond her fanbase to broader audiences - this time connecting with people who do not normally watch anime, particularly working men and women in their twenties and thirties.
Hataraki Man appears to be doing much better than expected. Of all the late night television animation series which debuted in Japan during the fall of 2006, in the Kantou region (includes Tokyo) of Japan, Hataraki Man is a solid No. 1 in overall television audience ratings with a 4.03% (episodes 1-9) (http://anime.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/asaloon/1165644957/154). (DEATH NOTE is No. 2 with a 3.58% {episodes 1-10} (http://anime.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/asaloon/1165644957/155).)
Last week (Monday, December 4, 2006 - Sunday, December 10, 2006), episode 9 of Hataraki Man drew a television audience rating of 5.1%. (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=762633&postcount=178)
(During the same week, episode 10 of DEATH NOTE drew a 3.4%.)
Hataraki Man is well on its way to becoming the series with the highest overall television audience rating so far in Fuji TV's NOITAMINA late night animation block.
---
NOITAMINA Series Overall Television Audience Ratings - Kantou Region (Includes Tokyo)
1. Hataraki Man - 4.03% (episodes 1-9; 11 total episodes)
2. ~ayakashi~ Japanese Classic Horror - 3.51%
3. Jyu Oh Sei - 3.50%
4. Honey and Clover II - 3.25%
5. Paradise Kiss - 3.24%
6. Honey and Clover - 3.05%[/i]
---
Jyu Oh Sei (Juuousei) (3.50%), and Paradise Kiss (3.24%), two earlier NOITAMINA series, had highly popular, high-priced, mainstream celebrities playing the main character, singer Domoto Kouichi (Domoto Koichi) of J-pop duo KinKi (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=KinKi+Kids) Kids (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&oe=ISO-8859-1&q=KinKi+Kids&nojs=1) as Thor and model-actress-singer Yamada (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Yamada+Yuu+model) Yuu (http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&oe=ISO-8859-1&nojs=1&q=Yamada+Yuu) (Yamada (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Yamada+Yu+model) Yu (http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&oe=ISO-8859-1&nojs=1&q=Yamada+Yu)) as Hayasaka Yukari (Caroline), respectively, presumably at least in part to boost television audience ratings.
As Japanese sources report in Japanese and in English, Matsukata Hiroko sings the theme song, "Eternal," for a television commercial in Japan.

Jyu Oh Sei (Juuousei) (3.50%), and Paradise Kiss (3.24%), two earlier NOITAMINA series, had highly popular, high-priced, mainstream celebrities playing the main character, singer Domoto Kouichi (Domoto Koichi) of J-pop duo KinKi (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=KinKi+Kids) Kids (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&oe=ISO-8859-1&q=KinKi+Kids&nojs=1) as Thor and model-actress-singer Yamada (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Yamada+Yuu+model) Yuu (http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&oe=ISO-8859-1&nojs=1&q=Yamada+Yuu) (Yamada (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Yamada+Yu+model) Yu (http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&oe=ISO-8859-1&nojs=1&q=Yamada+Yu)) as Hayasaka Yukari (Caroline), respectively, presumably at least in part to boost television audience ratings.
As Japanese sources report in Japanese and in English, Matsukata Hiroko sings the theme song, "Eternal," for a television commercial in Japan.

Mr. Kenji Ito was responsible for arranging the commercial music to the game, "Mabinogi", a fantasy MMORPG. He arranged an original composition from the game called, "An Old Story That My Grandmother Heard ", into a vocal theme. The vocalist is Rie Tanaka, well known from the "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" anime series and from other projects. A 30 second sample of the tune can be heard through the Mabinogi website (http://www.mabinogi.jp/).

Rie Tanaka - the Japanese voice actress (seiyuu) who does both the speaking voice and the singing voice for Lacus Clyne in the original Japanese version of Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny, and Meer Campbell in the original Japanese version of Gundam Seed Destiny - sings the theme/insert song, "Eternal," on a television commercial for the Japanese version of Mabinogi, a popular South Korean MMORPG from Nexon. According to reports by Japanese fans and Rie Tanaka herself, the Mabinogi commercial, along with the song "Eternal" sung by "Lacus Clyne," began airing December 12, 2006 on various channels and networks in Japan, including major ones like Fuji TV and TV Tokyo, in the afternoon, evening and night hours.
Hataraki Man Overall Television Audience Rating, 4.01% - Great for a Late Night Anime
Television Audience Ratings - Kantou region (Includes Tokyo), Japan
Hataraki Man Episode 11 (http://anime.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/asaloon/1166674686/114) Television Audience Rating, Thursday Night, December 21, 2006 [Friday Morning, December 22, 2006] (http://p2.chbox.jp/read.php?url=http://anime.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/asaloon/1166674686/114)
4.1% CX [Fuji TV] 25.15 [1:15 AM] Noitamina "Hataraki Man" (Episode 11 [The End] / Soredemo Hatarakiman {Still the Working Man})
Despite a broadcast starting time 30 minutes later than usual, episode 11 of Hataraki Man still drew a pretty good television audience rating.
And despite three out of its eleven total episodes airing significantly later (http://anime.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/asaloon/1166674686/132) than their regularly scheduled time (http://p2.chbox.jp/read.php?url=http://anime.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/asaloon/1166674686/132), Hataraki Man still managed to deliver an overall television audience rating of 4.01%.
Very, very few late night animation (anime) series in Japan have ever managed to pull off an overall television audience rating of 4.0% or more. Hataraki Man has just accomplished that. And NANA almost certainly will when it ends its run.
The Hataraki Man anime apparently has done much better than expected, drawing in and keeping audiences despite, among other obstacles, a number of broadcast delays and the lack of a live action version to boost awareness and interest among the Japanese general public.
Japanese posters at 2ch credit the fine cast of Hataraki Man, led by Tanaka Rie as the main character Matsukata Hiroko, for its excellent performance with Japanese viewers, particularly with salaryman, or working men and women - people who, by and large, do not normally watch anime.

Television animation "Hataraki Man" started broadcasting in the wee hours on Fuji TV in October 2006; the final episode aired on December 21, 2006. Working people in their twenties and thirties empathize with the hard working protaganist, Matsukata Hiroko, and the show scored high television audience ratings. Furthermore, a television commercial for the temporary employment agency "DIP" (Tokyo Minato-ku, company president Tomita Hideki) which uses the image of Matsukata [Hiroko] also attracts attention. How did the unexpected combination of "anime" and "temporary work" arise in the first place? <Watanabe Kei>
.
.
.
Although DIP had chosen actress (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Koyuki+actress+DIP) Koyuki (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Koyuki+actress&oe=ISO-8859-1&sa=N&tab=wi&nojs=1) [internationally famous for being in The Last Samurai motion picture with Tom Cruise, Sanada Hiroyuki, et al. (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Koyuki+actress)] as its promotional image character, the project to choose a new character began around June 2006, and information on the Hataraki Man animation was obtained while conferring with advertising agencies, etc. Having read the original Hataraki Man manga by Anno Moyoco thoroughly, marketing director Aihara/Aibara Hidenobu felt, "The manga readership and the viewers that the anime aims at, to say nothing of the theme, are the same."
The magazine "Morning," in which "Hataraki Man" is serialized irregularly, young men (seinen) and businessmen (salaryman) in their 20s and 30s are the main readers. Animation is popular among women of the same generation - users who built this company's site - with the Thursday late night Noitamina time slot, when "Honey and Clover," "Paradise Kiss," etc., are broadcast. Furthermore, marketing director Aihara/Aibara quickly decided to sponsor the show and assured that the tie-up of manga and anime had the power of appeal in "killing two birds with one stone" and was able to boost the image of the business, saying that "this project cannot be done by other companies."
.
.
.
The number of "Hatarako Net" registrants normally grows at several percent per month; but since the Hataraki Man promotion began in October 2006, it has been noticeably growing at 20-30 percent per month....
.
.
.
Although broadcasting of the anime has ended, the Hataraki Man volume 1 DVD goes on sale December 22, 2006, with more releases in the future. When DIP using "Hataraki Man" for promotion continues, marketing director Aihara/Aibara expects, "Because the theme songs are heard and the DVDs are seen, DIP is brought to mind." In the final episode of the animation, buried too deep in her work, Hiroko splits up with her boyfriend. But "happy relations" between "Hataraki Man" and DIP appear to go on.

The show is billed as a 独自の世界観が光るスパイアクション (a spy action show featuring a characteristic worldview?). Seems like it's the director's pet project; he really just had the idea of doing a spy show set in Tokyo brewing in his head I think...Well I'm Interested after hearing the type of story, plus I'd watch it to find out more about that Black cat :D But somehow it seems kind of uninspiring, to be honest. The character designs are, at least.Character designs.. I cant say they are great but they could be worse, still... I think they could of worked on the main male character a bit more.
Regarding Darker than BLACK, I got a look at the article in close detail. (Hey, I'm not putting my $15+ to waste...) As you can see in the website, interestingly the characters seem to be called by the Chinese pronounciation of their codenames. Hm...
...But somehow it seems kind of uninspiring, to be honest. The character designs are, at least...
Cheers wao. Gah, I'm still waiting for my Newtype (damn UK Customs and their archaic import restrictions!).
Hmm...DtB doesn't immediately grip me as something ground-breaking or fresh, but I'm still curious as it's BONES and Okamura and pet projects can often be lovingly fashioned (or off-puttingly self-indulgent). Character designs are a bit meh, but I suppose they're not overly decorative so maybe they're going for some degree of realism. Though Hei sounds like a text book emotionally isolated male lead and the goth/loli/doll Yin seems to be pandering to the usual crowd. Wonder if Mao likes sitting on people's heads? The first thing I thought when I saw 'talking cat' was Kenran Butou Sai! Nya~Nya~.

From now on this thread will also contain links to the latest trailers of unaired anime.
This way its more convenient to check the latest trailers of unaired anime (by only checking one thread), and you won't have to check every specific thread for these anime to know if there are trailers available for these shows.
I already got an admin's permission concerning this ^_^
But please follow these following rules:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Rules:
1. Only post about trailer/s of unaired anime (anime that haven't been broadcasted on any TV channel or released (OVA)).
2. No posting about trailer/s of H-anime (ero-anime) :P
3. Make sure that the link/s to the trailer/s are working.
(To clarify the first rule: do not post trailer/s of anime that finished broadcast or are already being broadcasted on some TV channel).

But okay.
I wonder if this is by Noitamina.

It would have been published under an imprint for young women if it was a josei manga, but it was published under the Afternoon KC imprint thats aimed at young men, so it is a seinen manga.
Sorry to disagree :P LOL
I wonder if this is by Noitamina.
Hopefully no more anime adaptations of seinen manga will be broadcasted on Noitamina anymore. its enough that they broadcasted the anime thats based on the seinen manga Hataraki Man on that anime block, and now this ?

Hmm,
Seinen/Josei baseball anime > Shounen/Shoujo baseball anime is what I mean.
But what am I saying? It isn't as if these labels have become relevant in deciding what I like or not (except ones that follow typical formulas)
I'll check out the manga and see if I like it.
Some info about Ookiku Furi Kabutte from Entropy (http://entropy-manga.com/projects/oofuri.php) group:
Voted the number one baseball manga of all time! It also won the Tezuka Cultural Award in May 2006 for showing new possibilities of expression in baseball manga.
Ookiku Furikabutte isn't just a baseball manga. It's the story of a timid young man who was made an ace pitcher in middle school because of family connections. Now he's in high school and it's his time to shine as an ace in his own right.
Reading this story will get your blood boiling, heart pumping and tears flowing. It has been popular since it was serialized, a true Japanese high school baseball manga!

I know it was published in Afternoon, a Seinen magazine. But that doesnt mean its strictly seinen. Morning has a lot of stuff that borderlines between josei and seinen too.
Technically they might call it a seinen; but I dont care what they call it.
And hey, just because Hataraki Man isnt all that. They make stuff I'd otherwise never be interested in pretty damn appealing.

But still anything in Morning magazine would still be seinen manga, and published under a seinen imprint.
But thats what is important here; what its "technically" is, and nothing else. If I'm going to deal with other stuff, then there is no end to this. by other stuff I mean, those that judge any manga be it by its art style, content, gender of mangaka or even the percentage of male/female readers of the manga.
I go by what the publisher says, and nothing else :p

Yeah, I pretty much agree about that, I'm not so much into josei manga, but I so loved the anime adaptation of Honey and Clover :)

That's one of the things that make me glad we have a Kinokuniya, even if we get the mags 1 week late...
But regarding the character designs - at least I am so thankful they're not all glittering and sparkly like the Ayakashi Ayashi ones. Although they still somehow have a similar 'feel' to them, vaguely anyway... Same thing with Wolf's Rain and even Kenran, there's this something similar about the type of character designs they work with, isn't there? Heck, even with Eureka 7... something about the lines and the eyes or something..
Here's just hoping they get the atmosphere right, even if the characters may be so-so. Hey, I loved the mood of what I saw of Kurau...
Pet projects could really go either way, just like you mentioned. I somehow don't see this going the way Noein did though... well, we'll wait and see.

Genre: Shounen, Comedy, Romance
Source: World Hobby Fair Website (http://www.whobby.com/contents/booth/sunday.html)
Manga synopsis, courtesy of Anime News Network (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/manga.php?id=4947):
With a debt of 1.5 million, 16-year old Hayate Ayasaki's parents sell him to the yakuza to pay it off. Not wanting to be cut up and sold on the black market, Hayate escapes from the yakuza thugs, and finds a very rich girl by the name of Nagi wandering in a park at night. Deciding to kidnap the girl for ransom money, Hayate's kidnapping speech was wrongly taken as a confession of love to Nagi. She finds out about the debt, and, feeling sorry for Hayate, pays it off, as long as Hayate will be her butler until he pays off the 1.5 million (which will take about 40 years).

Thank you, NeoSam! Please go on with this!
Thanks ;) and no problem ^_^

Checking this thread is like checking game news sites regularly, except that with this thread, you're more likely to get your wish granted, as opposed to hopelessly wishing for Shenmue III, Nights 2 and a Pokemon MMORPG to be made.
I KNOW that the 20th Century Boys anime announcement is round the corner. I can FEEL it.
Zero no Tsukaima second season has been confirmed :D

I would assume the staff to be the same (J.C. Staff) as the announcement was also made in the DVD Vol. 4.
In any case, great news!
Oh my, I'm lookingforward to the 2nd season of Zero no Tsukaima! Any offical release date?
Oh and by the way has anyone checked out the new anime (2 months old now) Giniro no Olynssis? It's a Mecha/Adventure/Romance. Seems pretty good so far, but a little hard to find with subs. Reminds me alot of Gundam Seed's Kira and Faye.

What !!! Oh that really sucks... :( I notice they said 製作中止. That's more like the funding and corporate production than the actual anime production... perhaps they couldn't get enough sponsors or there was some major disagreement in the planning stages. Oh well...

From Eternal Blue (http://eternal-blue.annexy.com) group:
Koizumi Risa, current height 170 cm. Her surname is translated to "small river". A girl taller than most other girls her age. Otani Atsushi, current height 156 cm. His surname is translated to "big valley". A guy way below the average height of a highschool boy.
They're both known all around school as the comedian duo for looking like nothing but funny while standing beside each other. Due to this fact, they've been on one another's bad side ever since they first met.
One day, a new transfer student shows up and he happens to be very tall! Koizumi immediately gets interested in this boy and Otani suddenly proposes a silly idea to Koizumi. The idea is that they are to help each other out to get their respective love interests by all means! Koizumi undoubtedly agrees to this but as in all other shoujo mangas, things never turn out the way people want it to.

I just got confirmation, Piano no Mori IS being direct by Masayuki Kojima. A man extremely capable in adapting manga to anime. He's known for Monster, Hanada Shonen-shi (a prior work of Piano no Mori author; Makoto Isshiki) and A Spirit of the Sun.
And here's the announcement about Love★Com (Lovely Complex) anime from Shueisha (the publisher of Bessatsu Margaret, the magazine serializing Lovely Complex manga)

You know, looking at teh character designs and the layout, I really cannot help but be reminded of Aquarion.
Except that maybe this is not meatn to be crack.
Or maybe it is.
Kiss Dum.
On the other hand, I really love the character designs for this. Not necessarily the actual designs (they're a bit stereotypical) but the faces, the drawings - it's got a lovely feel ot it. Reminds me a bit of Ken'ichi Yoshida (which is always a good thing)
As for Skull Bones, not only is it Studio Bones' animation production, it's scripted and the skullman designs are by Yutaka Izubuchi (Rahxephon's director) Character desings by Jun (or Atsushi???) Shibata, off the top of my head I think he did the designs for 2x2=Shinobuden, either way he is/was a ufotable guy... And music is by Shirou Sagisu (Evangelion, KareKano iirc).
But the director is Takeshi Mori. :eyebrow: Bleh.

Oooh, that is good news. Taking a cursory look at the Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skull_Man) page I hope they opt for the 1970 version (brutal anti-hero investigated by hard bitten cop) rather than the 1990 version (masked avenger battling giant insects and Rasputin, lol).

Bah... RahXephon is overrated. Quon and Megumi are the only likable characters on the show, and the latter doesn't even have a huge role. (and she may not be all that great if Hilary Haag weren't blasting her cuteness meter through the roof) The rest range from suck to meh.
