この青空に約束を―
Kono Aozora ni Yakusoku wo
HHHhhhhhhhhh~
*is struck by a heart attack*
Oh dear and holy raptor Jesus-sama, first Nagasarete Airantou, then Prism Ark, then Hayate, and now Kono Aozora..... 2007 will be a wonderful year.
NAOKO-SAMAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
Whatever the Bishoujo game is its a surefired hit. I've come to accept that this is what sells today whether I enjoy the genre or not, it's just how it is.
But please tell me there IS something deeper to the plot this time than guy and a harem and/or school setting. I cannot watch it if that isn't the case. I've seen one of them in To Heart 2 and part of Tsuyokisu and thus I feel I've seen enough for a lifetime at least. I've liked Higurashi and Fate/Stay Night and what I've seen of Kanon but that's because they are multilayered in terms of plot and have characters that go beyond the archetype.
The characters look cute, but that would never make up for a lack of plot and a story behind the face. Sometimes I wonder if these are merely commercials for the game to whet a fans appetite into playing the game and getting some actual story.
Hmmmm..... it's hard to answer your question.
Yes, it's got a setup for a school harem. No, the characters do not all pine for the male lead, or at least they don't do it as one-tracked and as openly as most harem anime or game (one of them actually hates him and practically everyone else in the cast in the beginning). No, the characters are not paper cutout archetypes, although that depends strongly on your standards regarding who is and isn't an archetypical character.
What is your definition of multi-layered? Does it have to involve mystical or paranormal elements? If so, then you won't find anything all that mystical or supernatural in Kono Aozora.
The plot is "deeper" than To Heart 2's, that I can gather. Is it as thickly layered as Higurashi? No, but then again there's very little in all of fiction that can match its complexity anyway.
So what would you like us to tell you? Do you want hear/read us defend this game to the death? Or do you want us to ward you away from the show? Perhaps it may even be better for you to completely forget about this show, just to spare yourself and the rest of us all the angst and complaint that may inevitably come later; and you'd blame me and everyone else for wasting your time with the show anyway.
But, since no one's seen the anime yet, the only example left is the game. I would suggest you go get the trial, or if you're willing, get or DL the whole game, and see for yourself how it is. If you can read Japanese, awesome. If you can't, use AGTH to machine-translate. If you can't bear the machine translation, or refuse to read machine translation, then there's little we can do to help and you should ignore the game and show altogether then.
................ well, it does at least have the best student council president character EVER. At least in my humble experience and opinion.

I see that ANS has fixed that.Oh wow - so they did! I guess my earlier sarcasm may have been a bit much (though, as the quote implied, it wasn't really all directed their way either).
Looks like the anime will coincide with the release of the PS2 game version..At least another anime to look forward to..

Multi-layered is more than one overarching plot element or theme to the story. Despite everything you provided me I feel I have nothing to go on. I'll wait it out and see what we end up with. I will be checking out Prism Ark for sure though. High School drama works best for me though when it has something else to go along with it. Not supernatural or mystical but anything and it can't be just a one-shot arc or one character situation it would have to be a major theme. I went through High School once and I don't want to go through the same thing again if it ends up actually being less exciting than my high school experience. (I had a blast in High School.) Man I wish I had more info.

I am interested in Kono Aozora ni Yakusoku too... could Shinova provide a spoiler-free summary on what might be the story about more? I can't find a lot of information on it.
As of course, I've seen the character pictures from the official site and from what I can tell, I love the character designs already, but I would like to know what the story is about.

Higurashi had one overarching plot element, solving the mystery and stopping the tragedy, with smaller themes like trust and friendship within, but you've apparently enjoyed that story.
Now nearly all eroges that let you "get a girl" consist of one-shot arcs, one for each character. How much is packed into that one-shot arc depends from game to game, but they're all still one-shot arcs regardless, and Kono Aozora is one of them. So is Kanon, but you apparently enjoy that story.
If you want games with a really solid central story that all the individual character paths orbit around, Prism Ark is the most current example I can think of. Kanon's is about Yuiichi recovering his lost childhood memories, but that's more of a setting rather than an actual plot.
So "Multi-layered is more than one overarching plot element or theme to the story." doesn't really tell me a lot either.
And your high school experience was a "blast?" Then relinquish all hope ye strange one, for if high school was fun enough for you to actually enjoy it and call it a "blast" then there's no hope of any high school-based anime or game meeting your expectations.
Now to address everyone else:
Are there any tsundere characters in the game ?
Rinna is the one you want (reddish short-haired in the front of right pic), although it's hard to call her tsundere since she's really tsun in the beginning, then is neutral, then gets dere later on, but only in her character arc. For everyone else's she's just cool after her tsun phase ends.
Let's see, the main protagonist is Wataru. He lives on a small island with a peaceful, idyllic atmosphere, sort of like Da Capo's Hatsunejima, but even smaller and quieter (and no magic sakura trees, lol). He attends the only high school on that island, and lives in an old and aging dormitory on a hill with the rest of the cast members. He and the cast serve as the school's student council.
The dormitory used to be more populated but due to its age all the students have moved out until Wataru and his friends are the only ones left. They live more like a warm and cozy household of friends rather than just as schoolmates (and one teacher).
The story begins when Rinna transfers into the school and the dormitory. Actually Wataru meets her before the actual transfer when the story actually starts, but I won't spoil that for you. :)
Anyway Rinna is apparently a delinquint of sorts and the early part of the story involves the rest of the cast......well, Wataru, trying to get her to drop her icy facade and such. After that depends on whose character arc you play.
I think they'll probably go with Rinna's arc I guess. Unfortunately that was the next one I was going to play after finishing Naoko's and Umi's but never got to it. :(
A little bit on the characters:
(forgot his family name) Wataru - Male lead, 2nd year. Not one of those weak, girl-shy ones, but not a raging hentai-king like Taichi from Cross Channel or Imadori from School Rumble. He's proactive though for sure. He's also a master musician who can play the guitar, the harmonica, and a bunch of other stuff. He's serves on the student council as vice-president, and is also the second-best runner in the school.
Sawaki Rinna - New transfer, 2nd year. The tsundere character, if you had to find one. Hard to approach, a bit of a delinquent. Loves sports and running in particular. Is in the same class as Wataru, but is not on the student council.
Hayama Umi - The childhood friend, blonde hair, 2nd year. Gentle and easily distressed (crybaby, lol :p ). Also serves on the student council as the clerk, I think, and is in Wataru's class. She wishes the happy and peaceful days of living together with her friends in the dormitory could last forever.
Asakura Naoko - The one with that weird cross ornament in her hair. 3rd year and president of the student council. The most popular and idolized girl in school (you all know those types). Classy, great leadership skills, and very graceful and all that. Of course, being the president, the #1 girl and all that can be quite stressful so she likes to wind down and revert to her more casual state once inside the student council room (no, nowhere near as bad as Yukino from Kare Kano).
Rokujou Miyaho - The white-haired one. 1st year. Is a mixed child with a British father, I think. Comes from a rich family and has a big house somewhere on the island, but lives in the dorm during the school year. Wataru is the only one she called sempai. Everyone else is something-sempai. She's nice and graceful like a rich lady but in a different way from Naoko, I guess. Also in the student council as an assistant of some sort.
(I can't read her last name) Shizu - Blue-haired. Teh loli. 1st year. Hard to approach due to her taciturn manner, other than from her friends in the dorm. Hard to say much else. Sometimes has cat ears in the game. Hmmm. Also an assistant in the student council.
(I can't read her last name either) Saeri - The teacher at the bottom of the pic. Resident faculty at the dorm and the advisor to the student council. Likes to drink a lot. Not very good with technological stuff, from what I can gather. Worries about the kids often. A little high-strung, maybe. :)
And not on the picture but worth mentioning:
Akane - She's currently on the game website's front page. Officially transfers into Wataru's class right before Rinna. Her first meeting with Wataru is..... interesting. Anyway she warms up to him and the cast quickly. Uber-genki. Talks really fast.
EDIT: I direct you all to ayyo's Kono Aozora thread, as obviously his skill in description is superior to mines.
Is the story deep? It's deeper than To Heart 2, for sure. Definetly deeper than the Tsuyokiss anime. The anime of Da Capo is a little better than it. Prism Ark is deeper than both Kono Aozora and Da Capo. Kanon is just as deep as Prism Ark but in a different way (Kanon is a small-scale human drama, Prism Ark is a fantasy epic).
Thanks for all the info Shinova :)

You answered the question for yourself. The multi-layer thing is only a qualifier for me in a series where the main theme is High School drama. I like a sub theme with my High School Drama or Moe series to make it more interesting (They tend to get really boring very quickly like monster of the week shows. UNLESS they break the each girl gets on arc they disappear and then reappears for the finale formula. Then it can be really interesting if meladramatic. It's the same deal too often with girl of the month [4 episodes or less]).
If I'm going to watch a dating show or high school drama than the characters damn well better be present at the same time more than once in the series to develop there relationships with each other and the hero. With To Heart 2 and Shuffle! you could go episodes without seeing one of the heroines and suddenly they would reappear when its their. It felt sometimes like the character was slipping through alternate universes where only one girl existed at a time.
Maybe it wasn't quite that bad, but I've blocked a lot of it out. They have been getting better at the whole making the Moe/Dating thing interesting to my tastes lately though.
What is this Setanohanoyome show though. I seem to have lost my colour spectrum when I view the website, but it comes back whenever I leave the page. Odd.

Hmm, thanks a lot for the info Shinova. Sounds like a relaxing watch, depending on how it will turn out, hopefully not like Tsuyokiss. I was so anticipating it after ayyo's posts on his blog, but then the first episode came out and I went... well, slient. Gave up after the second episode orz.
As for Seto no Hanayome, I just read the manga and I'll say one thing... BEST EVER COMEDY MANGA in a while. every page, yes almost every page, had me laughing my ass off, not to mention San-chan is kawaii desu~~. I'll be hoping the anime turns out well.

I'm going to be honest I haven't seen them yet. I have the series and I don't like the Gackt music at all (It's could not have fit worse with Zeta). I really have no interest in compilation movies (except for Tobe Gundam, Soldiers of Sorrow and Encounters in Space, which are the actual canon now as far as I can tell), especially when they are non-canon. I mean is anyone going to accept this as canon and that ZZ Gundam never happened and hence Char's Counterattack, F91 and Victory.

What's this I Hear about Layzner and Yamato?
Nothing. Just us repressed mecha fans who's getting estatic at the recent SLEW of new mecha animes from remakes to sequels to reimaginations to new series altogether, especially more so on the old mecha stuff being revived back in one form or another like VOTOMs, Dancougar, GR and now JEEG. And since the industry keep one-upping us, (( if someone told me Dancougar, JEEG, GR and VOTOMs were getting their franchise reignited all together in 2007 3 years ago, I would've laughed at their faces )), we're just being greedy for wanting MOAR.

I am a happy anime fan. I've been wanting someone to fansub Gegege no Kitaro for ages. (I've seen a couple of episodes and they were awesome.)
I think that the chances of the new season being fansubbed is pretty near certain. Thank goodness I'll finally be able to watch Gegege no Kitaro.
Well I've heard Soukyu No Fafner is an amazing mecha series marred a bit by crappy character design. Yet I'm working my way toward it in my list. He doesn't make an anime suck but man does he suck at his job. I'm worried as to why he still finds work as it does not make any sense. I know the Japanese tend to tilt towards Homgeniety but come on!
Soukyuu no Fafner is an amazing series disregarding character designs and the character design was actually decent in it despite Hirai working on it. Its no S-cry-ed or Infinite Ryvius but the art passed alot better than the later works.
If I based my likes on character design alone than I'd never bother with Eureka Seven despite how good it is. (Yes I really don't like the E7 designs)
I find character art is a really secondary thing, if its good than its only the icing on the cake.

Hmm... other than Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS and Galaxy Angelune, what other manga is serialized in Megami Magazine (http://comipedia.com/magazine/megami_magazine) ?Unless they added a new one in this month's issue, that's it. It's not really a magazine focused on serializing manga, and typically they're from already-animated properties. Unless they're talking about a sequel, I think the news is more likely supposed to be that they'll be serializing a manga based on a to-be-announced Geneon property in Megami, rather than the other way around.

I know about Megami Magazine, a great bishoujo magazine, I have a few issues of it :) but pretty old issues >.<

シャイニング・ティアーズ
Shining Tears
Based on the Sega PS2 action RPG game of the same name (apparently the setting will be in the future compared to the game).
The opening theme "Shining Tears" will be the same as the game (it is unknown if it will be sung by Hoshi Souichirou).
Source: Hayashibara Megumi's radio show: Heartful Station.
Hayashibara Megumi voiced the character of Blanc Neige in the game, so it would be natural to assume she will be playing a role in the anime as well.
Edit: Director: Watanabe Hiroshi (RAGNAROK, tactics, The Law of Ueki, Jigoku Shoujo)
Animation studio: Studio Deen
Apparently, Hoshi Souichirou (Xion) will remain as the protagonist.

Shining Tears? WTF? (( So... is it the traditional several episode OVA like those Tales animation adaption or a TV series like Disgaea? ))
I just hope it won't be as bad as the game. The game really sucked. The only redeeming factor was the cute girls and Dark Xion.

Wow, and the anime based of bad (In this case) to mediocore games continues. Of all games to pick they pick a shitty one because I'm willing to bet it has cute girls in it. Such a dumb choice. I wouldn't be on it being any good because they could even take a good game like Tales of Phantasia and turn it into an incredibly disjointed OVA that is not at all representative of the game. It'll probably be a one shot like Ar Tonelico.
Well, if GeGeGe No Kitaro is getting remade then I'm still happy.

According to Anime News Network, the OP song (unnamed as of now) for the Kamichama Karin anime will be performed by Ali Project. And the Shining Tears anime....Yay! Hoshi and Hayashibara together! I always tried picturing them together. I might watch it but I'm kinda not sure...The ciompany producing the Kamichama Karin anime is Satelight. Someone thinks it'll air spring 2007 since it's a Nakayoshi manga and usually Nakayoshi manga turn into anime in spring. But I'm not sure. I hope it comes out soon though!

You don't need to, because they already have been in Lost Universe.
And studio Deen isn't bad either.
Higurashi still burns in my mind as the "off-day" anime for them. But it's Tony's character design, so they have a good start there.

Daisuke is a 23 year old new schoolteacher. He ends up being put in charge of a 3rd grade elementary school class since the previous teacher quit, and in that class there's a girl who's quite a troublemaker -- Rin Kokonoe. You could call her a masegaki (used to describe a kid that acts more like an adult in some ways), and she's also part tsundere (though more dere than tsun). She's somewhat similar to Miu from Ichigo Mashimaro, I guess. Besides Rin, Daisuke's got other problems to take care of -- one of the students in his class, Mimi (one of Rin's friends), hasn't been attending school recently.

Whoa, HELLO! This "Nymphet" (sorry couldn't resist) series has the auto spot on my to watch list. As long as it doesn't break the 25% rule we're gold I should hope.
On Heroic Age, the main character actually looks slightly less like Kira for once, but he's still not mixing up the other character designs at all with Mwu to the left with a slightly revamped version of his usual female lead. And is it just me or is the exact same character design used twice for the twin characters http://www.starchild.co.jp/special/heroicage/chara/04.gif http://www.starchild.co.jp/special/heroicage/chara/05.gif. Usually there is some distinguishing feature to set twins apart. Seriously come on Hirai, if your going to do a new main character FINALLY at least go all the way with the rest of the cast. Slight improvement for Hirai (I bet he took an hour instead of 30 minutes on this set of characters), but I bet he slips again with his next job which he will eventually somehow despite all logic, get.

They have completely blocked the islands with an ultra magnetic field which prevents anyone to see what is going inside, nor for people to travel in/out of the country. This was a result to opposing to a treaty which UN has passed, preventing the development of all bio and robot technology which has evolved drastically and has become a threat to the human beings. When Japan finally begins to move, the US government sends in a special force team SWORD, lead by a female commander Vexille, to investigate what is really happening inside the closed country. Yes, another series with Kajiura Yuki! Let's see what she comes up with this time. :eyespin: I'll at least watch it for the music since I'm not a fan of Bee Train or this kind of story.
The ED for this series will be by FJ-Y.
They debuted 2 new songs (which will be on the forthcoming album) a couple of weeks ago when they did live shows.
;-; Too bad the ED wasn't one of them...
I'm ANXIOUSLY awaiting the series and the new CD since I'm a fangirl of both Kajiura and Nanri. x3
So yes yes yes yes :D it is getting an anime :D it was mentioned before by moonphase as a speculation of getting an anime, but now its confirmed :D
I'm very happy for you NeoSam. :D I myself am waiting for some news regarding Junk Force. Post haste if you do hear something. :heh:
LOL, no problem ;)
I would so love to see more shounen light novels getting animated, especially light novels from the shounen label Dengeki Bunko (the greatest shounen label ever >.< the label that brought us such great light novels/anime: Shakugan no SHANA, Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, Kino no Tabi, and many more great shounen light novels)
There's a shounen light novel titled Ookami to Koushinryou (狼と香辛料) its a Dengeki Bunko light novel. I heard some great stuff about this light novel, I would so love to see it animated :) ahh also the covers with the foxgirl are so moe~
Anyway, enough dreaming for now :heh:

hmm... Clannad Feature Length Anime Announced
movie AND an anime :)I think "feature length anime" is just referring to the Toei animated movie. They're one and the same, as far as I can tell.
Look what just got announced >.< its a new anime, no its a new trailer, no its a Drama CD >.>
Believe it or not :P but from now on this thread will also contain new announced Drama CDs :)
I also got an administrator's permission concerning this :)
But of course there are also rules:
Drama CD rules:
------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Acceptable Drama CDs that can be announced are only those based on anime, manga, light novels, figurines or games (see note).
2. Please limit the announcements to only new Drama CDs, not to those that have already been released.
3. Please, no links to downloads. Please do not request downloads or any sort of help in finding downloads.
Note: Bishoujo, BL, Otome Muke, Josei Muke games, etc., etc. Plus, any mixed media project/announcements such as a game + drama CD, in this case the mentioning of the Drama CD is acceptable :P
------------------------------------------------------------------
Please follow the above rules, and help is always appreciated :)

MBS's official site for Terra e... (Toward the Terra):
http://www.mbs.jp/terra-e/
Of course, the most important thing about the site is that they mention that Terra e will start airing from April from 6 PM, which is obviously the TBS/MBS Saturday timeslot.
I'm kind of relieved they finally announced this, ever since I first mentioned it would get this timeslot, as speculations continued to grow from the lack of concrete evidence (which is understandable considering the circumstances).

Isn't Koharu Biyori the name of a Harukanaru Toki no Naka de album?
Isn't Koharu Biyori the name of a Harukanaru Toki no Naka de album?
Yeah, you are right:
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=KECH-1407
But Koharu Biyori is also a seinen manga thats serialized in the seinen moe~ magazine Dengeki Moeoh (http://comipedia.com/magazine/dengeki_moeoh). There's going to be a Drama CD based on that manga.
Here are covers of available volumes of the manga:

Isn't Koharu Biyori the name of a Harukanaru Toki no Naka de album?
NeoSam has clarified that yes, it is indeed the name of an album for Harutoki - Harutoki 2, to be more specific.
One more thing to add: the difference between your Koharu Biyori and the one that NeoSam mentioned is that the title of the former is written in kanji, as 「小春日和」. I don't know anything about the latter Koharu Biyori (which, incidentally, is written in hiragana as 「こはるびより」), except that it is based a moé manga serialized in Dengeki Moéoh, and is quite different from the Koharu Biyori that you mentioned.
And while we're on the subject of moé/guy-oriented works and fangirl (yaoi or non-yaoi) -oriented works which have similar titles - I shall present:
Gakuen Tengoku (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/manga.php?id=5458) vs Gakuen Heaven (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/manga.php?id=6640).
It gets quite dangerous for people if they're looking to buy one, only to have bought the other... :D (Unless, of course, they're simultaneously into one-guy-and-multiple-girls harem-style ecchi and yaoi...)

According to this site (http://www.getchu.com/top.html), it mentions that Otome wa Boku ni Koi Shiteru will be getting a second season.
I'm wondering if they're talking about the DVD proprietary episode that was originally supposed to be part of the first season.
This could be a false alarm, so it may be prudent to take with a grain of salt.

Looks like I'll be switching over to the Jpaanese track during "God Knows" and "Lost My Music" on the fourth Haruhi DVD, because BangZoom decided to the same godawful thing FUNimation and ADV does and have their dub actors pretend they know how to sing. But who knows? I didn't think Wendee Lee could even voice Haruhi well at first, and she's done a decent job.
Well, it couldn't be worse than the English dubbed singing voice for Meer Campbell in Gundam SEED DESTINY.
One voice actress, Chantal Strand, dubs the English speaking voice for Meer Campbell, while another voice actress, Jillian Michaels, dubs the English singing voice for Meer.
Even the most vocal supporters of Jillian Michaels's low, deep, insipid, off key singing voice for Lacus Clyne in Gundam SEED, which does not sound at all like Chantal Strand's high pitched, screechy, chipmunk speaking voice for Lacus Clyne in Gundam SEED - Lacus's English dub singing voice for "Fields of Hope" in Gundam SEED DESTINY isn't that bad - cannot say anything good about the terrible English dub singing voice for Meer Campbell in Gundam SEED DESTINY.
It's "gargling with razor blades" awful.
"Quiet Night C.E. 73," Meer Campbell's uptempo version of Lacus Clyne's "Shizukana Yoru ni" ("In the Quiet Night") in English is just horrible.
Try finding it on the Internet.
Unlike Lacus Clyne and Meer Campbell in the English dubs of Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED DESTINY, at least the same voice actress who dubs Haruhi Suzumiya's English speaking voice will also dub her English singing voice within episode 12 of the The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya anime.
We'll see if it's any better than the bad English dubbed singing of Lynn Minmei by her English dub voice actress Reba West in Robotech.

Moonphase has yet to post this on its site, so I'm going to post the following information compiled from various articles in the early sales Newtype April issue (which I don't have yet, BTW, so I will revise accordingly):
Code Geass will be getting a second season. Although details are not mentioned, there are comments from the seiyuus regarding the second season. Also, a special broadcast of episodes 24 and 25 of the current season has been confirmed (no specific airing date yet).
A new project, Puchi Eva EVANGELION@SCHOOL (ぷちえヴぁ EVANGELION@SCHOOL) has been announced. This SD series will initially launch in the form of figurines, designed by Hamamoto Ryuusuke and packaged by Yotsuba Stuidios, but the project is expected to accommodate conventional anime media as well.
http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/8/puchievavx5.th.jpg (http://img126.imageshack.us/my.php?image=puchievavx5.jpg)
Terra e (Towards the Terra) will also be broadcast on the satellite stations Animax and Kids Station. Opening song will be by UVERworld, ending song by Katou Miliyah.
A movie by Bones: Stranger Mukou Hadan (ストレンヂア 無皇刃譚), is to premiere in fall. Director and script by Andou Masahiro and Takayama Fumihiko.
The motion picture CLANNAD, by Toei Animation and directed by Dezaki Osamu, will premiere in Fall 2007. And what's this I see on the BS-i site (http://www.bs-i.co.jp/main/game/show.php?0033)?
Doujin Works will be animated by REMIC, and directed by Hachiya Hiroyuki.
Baccano will be animated by Brains Base, and directed by Oomori Takahiro.
The official title for Shining Tears is Shining Tears X (Cross).
The Victor seiyuu and singer audition for the large scale animation project has been revealed as Macross.
----------------------------
Edited:
1. Noticed the title for the Bones movie was different, thus revised accordingly.
2. Added Eva picture.
3. Actual title is Shining Wind X Wind
4. Now Animedia Magazine reports the above title as Shining Wind X (Cross)

I don't think there's any problem with that :) , but I think the one that posts about these stuff should put a warning to any link that might lead to an adult content >.< and if you are showing something like an image of the cover of an adult manga (which the anime is based on) then there should be some type of warning to the reader, and put that/those covers in a spoiler >.< (ahh of course the warning should be before the spoiler and not after it :heh: )

No~! I was interested in both of those titles... Perhaps... maybe... I don't know...
I hope it's not true...! Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is the most interesting sounding "new title" (title I wasn't aware existed as manga before anime announcement) I've heard all year... if it was canceled I'll be upset.

Wow, how weird... actually I'm interested in that title too, even though I find the manga rather difficult to read (maybe I just wasn't concentrated enough when I read it).

Kaname Okimura, a student of Prefectoral Umineko Shougyou High ("Umisho" for short), joined the school's swimming club in order to learn how to swim, but the club is filled with weirdos, let alone teach him swimming. Then, a sunny, happy-go-lucky girl named Amuro Ninagawa who was transferred from Okinawa joined the club. Her extraordinary underwater speed and unorthodox swimming style (plus her personal habit of nude swimming -- a powerful magnet to teenage boys) surprised every club member, especially Okimura, because she reminds him a mermaid-like creature he saw only once in his early childhood.
