That shirt is awesome, its my favorite shirt ever ^_^

Long sleeve version is 100000x cooler than the short sleve version fyi.

BTW im not sure if i was dreaming this or not, but does anyone know if they made a plush version of the dinosaur that Misuzu left at the shrine that was supposed to be her gift? If so, do you have a link to where one could purchase it? It'd be much appreciated.

I got the shirt about 6 months ago. I loved it and I still do. Although my friends question my maturity when I wear this shirt.. I can understand why ^_^, still I don't mind since it's branded with Misuzu cuteness all over it.

i am looking for the potato plushie or the dino plushie.

i've been trying yahoo japan auctions but i dont know the correct japanese spelling or kanji so that yahoo auctions will give me the correct listings. can someone who knows japanese or anything help me find a plushie on yahoo japan auctions or any other place? please?

So far the only words i can dig out from the website are:

ポテトのぬいぐるみ potato
ぷろとん君ぬいぐるみ puroton-kun

This is one of the few times I am willing to dish out money for anime stuff. Just need the money to buy things. Though I have not even looked at the merchandise yet. *sigh*

Erg... nvm. Everything on the site with the stickers and mugs and potato are good, though the shirt and gao are too cheap-looking. *sigh*

Oh this again... wonder why I didn't notice this thread until now...That shirt is awesome, its my favorite shirt ever ^_^I seem to remember that being posted last time someone asked... Awesome as they may be, they are not legitimate licensed products so personally I wouldn't buy them -- even if the fansub group don't make money out of them, the printing company do. I don't think the print quality is all that great either -- from the few samples I have (from way back when MegaTokyo used to use the same site). It would be nice if official "Stegosaurus" shirts were released... ah well.

Edit: @milkmandan - Nope, she isn't me and I'm not her. It just happens that we both use Alpha avatars.

true true, it kinda sucks that no official Stegosaurus shirts were ever release by Key or anyone else. but i have one and the quality is pretty good. if anything its pretty, if not EXTREMLY close to the shirt in the series, seeing that there any other particular design on it besides the Stegosaurus.

ah well.

i am looking for the potato plushie or the dino plushie.

i've been trying yahoo japan auctions but i dont know the correct japanese spelling

I have tried to search in Yahoo Japan and Rakuten using my very elementary Japanese skills without any success. It seems they are not available even in the second hand market.

Regarding the Japanese characters, ポテト is the Katakana for Potato, while ぬいぐるみ is the Hiragana for stuffed toys.

A useful online Japanese/English Dictionary:

Actually, the official version was released last year :

Poatato was only at animate I believe and sold out quick.
Pro-kun was from 2001 so he is really rare.

I used the "ぬいぐるみ AIR" (nuigurumi AIR) keyword, since I'm looking for Kano and Misuzu plushies. (Of course, if i see another Potato in the near future i can PM the auction link to you or report it here.)

Searches yahoo.jp auctions via the RINKYA auction agent. They're quite good. I'd guess that if someone was selling a Potato plushie, it'd be there somewhere. :)

@ Leo:

That's where groups like Rinkya come in. They collect goods at their warehouse and then ship them overseas for you - basically, they operate as middlemen for yahoo.jp auctions and the like. They charge shipping/handling/processing fees, of course, but hey, better than not getting it at all right? :)

ok i am no bastard and i am a good person for the community...i am not selfish and i hope all of you aren't either..anyways after constantly searching day after day for a Potato plushie, i found TWO on Yahoo Auction Japan!

so i have decided to share my new found knowledge, i have found 2 auctions for a potato plushie.

acutally i found two different versions.

The one being sold at the animate one: http://www.animate.co.jp/animate/goods2.asp?wid=000000000267&pg=5
is this auction: http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d60234795
(4800 yen bid, NO buyout)

and there is another auction that seems like its official, due to the Tag: http://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/83453934
(3500 yen bid, 6000 yen buyout)

My question now for you all is. Which one is the OFFICIAL one???. -_- both seem pretty authetic to me. I think. Help me choose quick! before some random Japanese kid with a big wallet comes and swoops up the buyout one. >_<

*hey Leo if you want one as well, lets talk it out so it doesn't become a nasty bidding war...

Key made a few editions of him

There is the Game Version which (IMO isn't as cute as the anime version) is a regular plush size and then a key chain size about 3 inches tall.

The anime one is the 4,800 yen one and looks like the animate one.

I don't mind which one you get the 4,800 yen one is a little expencive for me at the moment.

Animate is a chain store in Japan that sells anime related merchandise of everything!!! It is drool worthy store ^-^"

@milkmandan

I never actually used ShoppingMallJapan, though I did intend to at one point. Bills and other such fun things got in the way unfortunately - and the items I was looking for (a couple of CDs and an artbook, if I remember correctly) all made appearances on either eBay or at a con last year, so I didn't need to in the end. :)

I signed up for Rinkya recently as I was looking for another CD, and also for some nice Fate/stay night memorabilia. Their fees, as compared to SMJ's, are (relatively speaking, looking at both lists) more expensive for 'cheaper' auctions, and cheaper for more expensive auctions. SMJ is more gradiated as you get bigger, from what I remember, whereas Rinkya charges certain flat fees and then adds to them depending on the final price of the auction. :)

@andiyar

yup! you pretty much hit the spot...
I'am signed up currently with SMJ and Rinkya so i get to pick and chose which service i like depending on the auction. :)

I do have to say though, Rinkya has the best interface among all the deputy services out there. Its very clean, easy to understand and very powerful. For example, in other services, you basically have to know the basic kanji or hiragana for the item you are looking for, and key it into yahoo.co.jp/r/ac
and then you gotta navigate the japanese auction pages to find what you are looking for. i think lucky for us, most of us can do this and know a little or a lot of japanese. But even still Rinkya, has their OWN search engine, which i believe is very good.

for exmaple you can type in "Shakugan no Shana" the ENGLISH name for that anime series and Rinkya's search engine will know that you are looking for 灼眼のシャナ. Its like they have presets for all the popular items or something..

oh well,.....someone get that potato plushie! its out and no one is bidding!

there is a pretty extensive deputy service thread i start @ hongfire talking about all the different deputy services, if you are interested check it out: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42885

andiyar
2006-02-12, 00:54
@ milkmandan

Yes, the bidding engine was the primary reason I chose Rinkya. Even though they're more expensive to use, it's very easy to actually find things, so I'm fine paying a bit more for the convenience :)

And well done on finally snagging yourself a potato plushy. ^^

Say, I was wondering if there was another Air tshirt? The Gao Gao shirt is cute... But a bit too simple.

On a side note, is the only way to get the Gao Gao shirt is to order online with a credit card? I can't just mail the money? Is it a legit site? From the other products I've seen, it looks like other people are selling their tshirts. As if they made it at home and sold it, unlike the ones manufactured from companies.

My Japanese is ... :p well below amateur so I honestly have no idea about the ordering/bidding system given here. If anyone can spare some times to let me know how/where I can get the original one, I will love you forever!! :p

Just kidding, but much appreciated if anyone can guide me on how to get the original shirt. Summer is coming soon and I would like to at least show it around before I get to store it for the next winter (unless I can get a short sleeve one as well :p).

there are companies that can place bids for you on yahoo japan auctions (which is the only place I know of where to get it as of now). Some people have listed a few here. I have done one before. It can be costly. If you REALLY want it then go for it.

I wonder if you're serious or joking? Since Gao (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gao_%28surname%29) is a very common Chinese surname. And no, my surname isn't Gao~. (Neither is it Uguu~ or Auu~~, for that matter. )

Anyway, seeing as this ancient thread got resurrected, I might as well ask if that T-shirt is still available anywhere. That would make for a good T-shirt, it doesn't stand out like other anime-themed T-shirt, in that a stranger wouldn't look at you and say "Ugh, bloody otaku", lol, yet you'll be instantly recognized by anyone well versed in Key titles.
