(I found this on gamefaqs earlier today, if it's "teh old", I apologize. :p)

This is a fandub in which some of the characters from Bleach have been given english voices. The results vary... Some of the voices were very good in my opinion (Hanataru and that little kid captain with white hair for example) while some didn't fit at all. (Renji :twitch: )
Anyway, watch it and give your opinion of it below!:heh:
Didn't really like the voices except for Hitsugaya :x

Just watched. Wow..the voices were..umm..interesting? That is to say the least..
Renji's voice was outright hilarious..whenever he spoke I couldn't help but laugh a little. I didn't like any of the voices really. This makes me fear what a professional dub will be like if Bleach is ever licensed.
Hitsu's voice sounded a little like Gohans :|

Easily the funniest thing I've seen all week. Yachiru and Momo were a bit annoying though.

The really sad thing is that this is probably better than the VA for Magna Carta on PS2 was.
Renji made me bust a gut, that was priceless. I thought yachiru really fit though, it made me want to slam my face against my desk, the perfect hyper 6 year old vioce.

The VA in that game will make you:
A) Hesitate in buying it
B) Wish humans didn't have voices after playing it
C) Wonder who the hell green-lighted a final production version of that game with such horrible voice acting. It seriously would have been better with the original Japanese (Korean?) voices and subtitles. WTF.
But that's neither here nor there. Another sad thing is that this probably isn't much worse from the ADV Evangelion dubbing, which, from what I can tell, often doesn't even come close to matching the subtitles.
EDIT: Why does Shunsui sound like he just got done catching "rad waves" off the coast of California? He is way more quiet and contemplative than that. Just because he's a Hippie-gami doesn't mean he sounds like a total bum.
Upon further review, all of the Japanese zanpatkouto releases are going to sound really, really bad with American voices, although these guys manage to do a pretty *decent* job.

URGH. Why do they bother? BTW pros never do a better job. They're worst. Fans are quite good actualy.. well, sound quality put aside.
Some voices seemed off but otherwise, not bad

If they take away the blood of Bleach and make it a little kiddy show I'm gonna...... The Japanese version sounds so much better. I would rather watch Japanese show without translations instead of listening to the English piece of CRAP. I mean, come on, I could do the voices wayyy better than they could do it.
The problem with dubbing is that they don't really seem to get ACTORS. They find people whose voices would fit the part and cast them. They don't show situation-specific emotions or anything like that.
Also, the difference of the pacing between Japanese and English (the fact that some things take 10 seconds to say in Japanese that are 2 words in English, and vice versa) causes a lot of things to come out really weird.
Subbing is clearly the best alternative but you can't expect kids (probably the target fanbase once it comes stateside) to have the attention span to pay attention to subtitles.

Funny, Ed's english VA didn't sound like that to me at all...

maybe i've played too many video games too many times over, but Renji's voice sounded like the voice actor who did Richter Belmont from Castlevania: SOTN
Renji - HAHAHAHA
Yachiru - More annoying than cute
Kenpachi - Not bad, needs to sound a bit more badass
Shunsui - Sounds more like a villain who is about to dispatch someone rather than a laid back "cool" guy
Hanatarou - I like this one
Hinamori - Pretty good, I think
Hitsugaya - Not bad either
Aizen - Just doesn't sound right
Ichimaru - He sounds like a sniveling bitch. I hate this one
Ukitake - He sounds too "badass." Doesn't fit his personality
Byakuya - Sounds a lot like Ukitake. Should sound more arrogant
Ichigo - Sounds too mature
Nice try, I guess. Probably would be considered a pretty decent dub when compared to others.

I liked Hanatarou's. Yeah, they could be polished a bit more, but nonetheless, better than the "pros" could've done.

Haha..that made my day. The truly sad thing is that I really really doubt Viz or any other dubbing company could do any better.
The voices were pretty bad..Reni's voice was probably the worst of them all though. Hinamori's was okay. Gin's voice wasn't evil or slyish enough..

Are they imitating the way American dubbers speak ? So slowly and putting weird stresses everywhere, exagerating diphthongs, speaking with the accent from dubberland.

I saw this way back, in the fandubbers own forum, so I could read some of the process behind this fandub. Apparently most of the VAs don't know Bleach (the ones who do, if I'm not mistaken, was just the Ichigo and the Hitsugaya) so it explains why some of the characters' personalities are off (Byakuya, Ukitake, Shunsui) since all they have are the script from the little snippet.
But that's the reality of the VA industry as well, most VAs won't be familiar with the titles they work in. It really depends on the director to tell the VAs whether they get a character right.
Back to the fandub... I like Hitsugaya & Gin especially. Gin's no Yusa Kouji, but you get a certain 'snakelike' feel from his voice. Hanatarou & Hinamori's not bad. Ichigo's fine, but he only has so little line. Yachiru's delivery is quite bad and her mic's too loud, but the cast is fitting. Byakuya, Ukitake & Shunsui's voice are okay, but the acting's off. No comments on Aizen & Kenpachi. Renji is the worst.

I dont know why everyone is bashing it, I think it was great. Compared to One Piece on Foxbox this "Cowboy Bebop" quality. Yea there were some bad voices. Shunsui's VA wasent even trying, and renji obviously sounded like the six million dollar man. All in all it was good for an experimental first shot. I would love to see if they dubbed the whole series.

I'd rather listen to that with actual usage of the Japanese names than the direct translation crap most dubs tend to use.
Direct translation of a bankai + cheesy American accent = Bang head against wall.

I really hate american dubbed anime's. It totally ruins the whole feel of it, espeically for a character like kempachi. He's supposed to be mega bad ass kill all power hungry bastard, and in this version he sounds more like a huge gay guy. No offence to huge fags.

Ichimaru's voice was pretty good, too bad we didnt' hear that much from Ichigo. It was still pretty ok. It's nice that they have good japanese prounciations for the zapatos ect.

I agree, Ichigo's voice wasn't so bad that I had to cover my ears. At times it reached a point where i was like "meh" but most of the time it was good.
Hanatarou's voice was the worst i'd say. But he only had one or two lines so tis okay :p

That was pretty darn lame...not to mention piss-poor quality.
the original post dubbing was on the ball on some but i didnt like how they say the japanese name of the bankai or release using english voice

Well, I've picked myself up off the floor, and the spasms have stopped... for now... That was too funny for me to entirely express in a post. It's strange, my ears are bleeding yet I'm laughing. It is too weird hearing the Bleach characters speak English!
I'm actually quite impressed, the lip sync is freakishly well done and the fandub is around the standard of some real dubs. Some of the characters were perfect!
