For me it's a close one between Inoue, Rukia, Isane and Rangiku... Matsumoto-fukutaichou wins out because of her casual attitude, her caring heart, and her overall awesomeness. She's a blast to hang out with (from what I can tell), has a pretty level head on her shoulders (despite outward appearances) and is darn good in a scrap though she'd be even better of Haineko would get off its lazy butt! And then there's her physical appeal... but that's obvious! I mean, come on, look at the way she wears her uniform...

I just watched episodes 86 & 87, which (while still being part of that kinda dumb Bount arc) reinforce my adoration of Rangiku-san. She initially plays dumb, I think to throw off their opponent and keep the atmosphere light at first. When it comes down to the fighting, she shows her true colors: she's very smart, a well-rounded shinigami (no pun intended), and actually has a strong reiatsu - "Just who the hell do you think you're talking to?" made me giggle. somehow bleach filler brought the other side of unheard VCs and captains. After watching the ep 102, i realized nemu can be pretty hot. I always think that she just mayuri's living blow-up doll that he use as punching sack during big fights. That she's mindless and cant think for herself. I was wrong. Kuchiki Rukia, because of her elite drawing skills and her fake "shoujo school girl" act, she's so evil.

Seriously, Rukia will always be my favorite anime character. She has so many different layers. We've seen her powerless for 201 chapters, yet she managed to become one of the strongest characters without her power. She subverted the whole "damsel in distress" role because she never wanted to be rescued, she wanted to protect her loved ones. She can be violent and loud, yet she always has the Kuchiki elegance surrounding her, even in her pre-Kuchiki days. She's not a tomboy and she's not a girly-girl, but she's something in-between. She's not beautiful in the standard manga way, but she's beautiful in her own way.

She can read Ichigo like a book and push his buttons like nobody can, but she can also be his strength and motivation. She knows when to pry and when to let things be.

Rukia is just love and makes the manga come alive.

It was tough, but I chose Yoruichi. Normally I'd have chosen Orihime (I'm neither a RukiaxIchigo fanatic nor an Orihime hater/fan), because she has a nice personality, but Yoruichi is a bit more dynamic and doesn't have any emo moments. I don't think Orihime's emo by any means (a few emo moments are not equivalent to being an emo CHARACTER), but I just like Yoruichi's pure bad-assery. :D

Honestly I found her sexy in the first ark but its gone down hill from there on. She did look pretty good in that white kimono she had on when they were gonna execute her though. Your right about one thing though inoue+matsumoto+unohana+nemu+nell+halibel= my harem in heaven!
