As im a FMP nut, i wanted to get merchandise apart from the usual DVDs, Manga, posters and wallscrolls... so stuff like figures, model kits, trading cards, etc.
As lot of this stuff is only avaliable in Japan, i was wondering if anyone knows any import channels with cheap shipping or anywhere in UK that sells that sort of stuff?

thanks:)

CDjapan stocks some of the limited edition DVDs which come with merchendise. If you're after the ladies of FMP, I think most otaku websites have the full set of slightly kinky Hot Springs figurines- that's Tessa, Kaname, Kyouko... um, that girl who tried to date Souske, and I think one other, and it isn't Mao.
http://www.justmanga.com/showprod.cfm?itemno=FMPANICHOTFIG
Here's a link, image isn't clear, I think the girl I don't recall too clearly was in Fumoffu.

There's a couple more around of Tessa changing with variation in the colour of the underwear. http://202.234.167.56/detailview.html?KEY=NEOSL-10945# links to a Tessa towel. eBay has the figures from time to time, and J-List often has Tessa changing.

I know in 2003 there was a calendar. Does anywhere sell those any more? Did they bring out a TSR one this year?

It's sad that these action figures are randomly packed. It's like a TCG booster pack, comes sorted with all kinds of stuff. You might or not get what you want.

There're very few Garage Kits and Models for FMP, who knows why, though, I think it would sell like hell.

There're a few rather Ecchi garage kits around, like Tessa posing in her underwear or in a swimsuit, carrying a C90 sub-machine gun. (Which isn't really that suitable for Tessa, I might add =p).
I'll probably get the Swimsuit version very soon, though.
http://www.kicks-hobby.com/component/page,shop.browse/category_id,256/option,com_phpshop/Itemid,62/
It's there for your heart's content.

The only place I've found to find the models of the Mechas separately from the `Booster pack` type is Ebay, and they go for sell rather expensively. It also goes on for those bath-scene booster thingies. (They aren't very good though. Also a reason why I'm not buying it :|).

And OMFG I need that towel.

Tessa, Kaname, Kyouko... um, that girl who tried to date Souske, and I think one other, and it isn't Mao.

Mizuki and Oren, a character only seen in Fumoffu (She's only behind Tessa in my "The cutest" list.).

I wish they had more large scale figures....

Not counting gaspeaon (sorry, I bucthered the spelling), you cant find any Sousuke, Kurz or Mao figures. As for Tessa and Kaname, there are a limited few (2 of each I believe, from Good Smile and Dragon Heroine) and they involve them either in a bikini or lingerie. I would love to be able to get larger figures with them in their normal clothes...

Why such a shortage?

This is the DVD with the Souske figure. No better pictures, and it's 7,800 yen, but it's the only one I've ever seen. The other special edition DVDs have the other characters.

Nice, but expensive. It is a shame they don't make some more readibly available figures that are a bit more affordable. It surprises me makers arn't jumping on this francise. Hell, I can see a Pinky Kaname and Tessa :heh:

Seriously, though, what would be really, really, nice is some plushies. Throw me a Bounta-kun stuffed animal for God's sake! ;)

Yeah, it really sucks. I think that they would make LOTS of money if they did what Bandai does to its Gundam series.
I mean, some characters only get new mobile suits so that they can make a different version of an already-existant version of that mobile suit. (Andrew's Gaia, for example. Or Heine's Gouf.)

If they made MG or PG versions of Arbalest, Venom, Codarl, M9's, M6's, and stuff.. Man they'd profit a lot, i'm pretty sure.
The AS's are VERY good Mecha examples, I find Arbalest even more owning in design than Freedom/Justice, since they look very less mobile than an AS.
But again... dreaming's not that bad =\

/omg... the TDD-1 Jacket is just absolutely awesome. I wanted to pick it up for m'love, but I've only found it at Cospa's website-- And they don't ship internationally right now.

I've been to a few cons, and circled the internet in search of it, but come up with nothing. I'm just hoping that his next deployment is to Oki so that I can just order it and have it shipped to his deployed address XD.. Technically not international, I hope. Though deployed addresses are considered domestic.

I'm sorry, but I cannot scan the doujinshi in high res, because of the copyright.
Plus, I don't want my doujin to appear on any 'Doujinshi Downloadsites', you know what I mean. ;)

I currently own all FMP! seasons with artboxes, the canon manga (not Overload), the Anime Mission book in English, and some AS trading figures. Lots of stuff that can still be got, though...

There are Atelier-Sai AS trading figures floating around on eBay every now and then, often as complete sets; the Buy It Now items usually run for a lot of money (one first-generation set that's currently listed is nearly $100!), but the regular auctions end up being much less. Funny thing is, I have a far harder time finding the second generation set with the ARX-7 Arbalest (LD-deployed version), M9D Falke, the emergency deployment booster, the bonus TDD-1 sub model, etc. None have appeared in a while, unfortunately.

Gonna have to keep patient while waiting for pre-order news about Alter's AS kits...the ARX-7 model looks amazing.

CPOK, that TDD-1 hat is sweet. Wear it well!

They have alot of other stuff that is being made by Great Eastern, like 2 new wallscrolls(in addition to the other two), 2 keychains(Arbalest and Mithril), a Mithril Dogtag Necklace, and a Wrist band with the Mithril patch on it. Lots of goodies! ^_^

MODELOCK ARX-7 model review:
http://srblood.blog89.fc2.com/blog-entry-501.html

I don't know why they bothered. Really terrible product, unappealing to model or toy fans.

Sad to see this happen. I initially got very excited about the release of Atelier-Sai/Kotobukiya's ARX-7...until reading that review. Exposed ball joints? Poor mold lines? Using the runners as part of a "flying" stand? Not for me!

Maybe it's about time I find one of those ARX-8 figures...

It has the undeniable advantages of only costing eightbux and being available now, which makes up for a lot of problems in my book.

To be fair, a lot of the problems in the Modelock kit can probably be worked around - either sand/fill the seams or fabricate extra pieces to hide the ball joints. I can't say for sure till mine come in to examine close up.

The Revoltech ARX-8 is a nice figure by any standard, and I hope they make a ARX-7 and/or Codarl to go with it at some point.

Okay! Got my Modelock ARX-7 and M9 today. Will post pix and opinions later this week.

The 1/60 ARX-7 looks like a May release. The Modelock Falke was just released too, it appears.

They keep pushing back the release date for the 1/60 Arbalest. Does Alter even know what the heck they're doing?

The Kotobukiya Modelock Arm Slaves are a waste of plastic. Uncolored, exposed joints, ball joints, no polycaps, one-sided moding, etc. Why can't Bandai produce Arm Slaves instead?

Why can't Bandai produce Arm Slaves instead?

Because Bandai doesn't own the rights to FMP! properties and is making money hand over fist with Gundams.

Good news - these kits are in scale with the Revoltech ARX-8.
Bad news - pretty much everything else.

As described above, the kits are unpainted, molded in a single color (light gray for ARX-7, light gray tan for M9). Click on thumbnails for larger pix.

M9:

They're not great. At eightbux they're moderately overpriced but not outrageously so. I will probably build, paint, and put on the shelf with the ARX-8 to keep it company.

It appears there is a new M9 model coming. I can't figure out who make it, other than obvious thing like 3800 yen and 1:48 scale. (bigger than the Alter)

Edit: I found Aoshima in the description.

Hmm.

I've got that Kaname 1/6 scale figure of her kneeling in her school uniform. It's still in it's box in my wardrobe as I'm a little embarrassed to put such a thing on my book shelf. :p

I wouldn't mind getting the Tessa figure too.

I can forget the Alter version now, after waiting all these years... Robot Damashii will likely be bigger than revoltech and close to the Alter ARX-7. It is also possible to see North America release since Bandai has been pushing them.

Edit:

Found a full pic of the Savage:
http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/9756/001tqd.jpg (http://img141.imageshack.us/my.php?image=001tqd.jpg)

Come to think of it, it is really good news for FMP - as far as I can tell this is the first Robot Damashii product that don't came from Bandai's own Sunrise (e.g. Geass) or Bandai supported show (e.g. Macross F) Normally they only license "outsider" for big hitter like Eva.

Finally received my 2 sets (one for display, one for storage) of Alter's ARX-7 Arbalest, and sweet Aiur, I'm loving the details and workmanship on it. :)

It's pre-painted and pre-assembled, and comes with an instruction manual on the various poses and stuff you can do with it, and believe me... it's a lot. You can probably use it to mimic any pose from the anime series you can think of.

Glee!

For those who are new to this: You can only directly pre-order them from Bandai's Tamashii web store that only ship inside Japan. It will appear in secondary market (ebay) when it is released but it will be in limited number. Some stores will list them at double MSRP for pre-order, since they have to pay full retail+shipping to get them. Stores that may resell limited items: Angolz, toy-wave, anime-export, locushk.
