The Heartwarming Violin Solo that comprises Nerine's musical theme always brings a tear to my eye, and I'm a 24 year old bloke. :heh:

Well, that song is used for the first time when Rin meets Nerine at the swings during a golden sunset in Episode 1.

And used thereafter whenever Nerine "tries her best" (such as cooking). :)

I was thinking that I was going to have to say so again for at least the fourth or fifth time on these boards alone. :heh: And, as far as I know, the limited edition DVDs are still the only announced way the OST will ever be released. (Incidentally, Kaede's CD came with another 8 BGM tracks, it looks like, in addition to the usual image song and monologue.)

So, yeah, because I came in this thread prepared to do it anyway, and because people keep on asking... Shuffle! Anime OST = Included with Limited Edition DVDs. That is all. :heh:

Yes, the Game OST album was released last year, NOT the Anime OST album.

For now they are releasing the Anime tracks bit by bit via the limited edition DVDs.

Yeah, well, I'm afraid the answer is... all of them so far. They split the OST across multiple discs. DVD 1: Sia CD, DVD 2: Nerine CD, DVD 3: Kaede CD, DVD 4 (coming January): Asa CD, and DVD 5 (coming February): Primula CD. (Don't know whether DVD 6 and up will go into side-characters, or what.) It's possible they may release a CD seperately in stores, but no plans to do so have been announced; of course, they wouldn't announce it anyway while they're trying to use them to entice people to buy the DVDs. Personally, I think it may be quite a while before we see an OST-only release, if ever.

And, uh, everyone else... let's be a bit mindful of the rules here... We're talking about buying the OST, not finding it on the Net.

I think it'd be highly strange of them to not release the anime OST independently at some stage. It seems that by including parts of the OST in the Limited Edition DVDs, they're giving fans incentive to spend their money. I imagine the people that DO buy these DVDs will be rewarded with some extra tracks, but I think it'd be a pretty strange business move not to release a standalone OST (minus some of the songs, ie, image songs) at some stage in the future. Either way, they probably wouldn't announce one until all the limited DVDs have been sold out, since people would stop buying them if they knew they'd be able to get the OST as a standalone for much less money. Who knows, could be a business ploy, or could be that they won't ever release an independent OST.

Schlemiel? That's the first time I've noticed Yiddish used in anything associated with anime. I grew up in New York City, and some Yiddish words were used so often, I thought they were English. Schlemiel wasn't one of them, however, although I heard it plenty of times. It was my high school chemistry teacher's nickname for me.

They probably could technically find enough characters to do 12 OST CDs, but I doubt they have that much background music. So, I imagine they might do something different somewhere down the line. (And yes, they have solicited 12 LE DVDs for the series, plus the Prologue DVD that included the first box.)

I think it'd be a pretty strange business move not to release a standalone OST (minus some of the songs, ie, image songs) at some stage in the future.It wouldn't be the first time, though... Off the top of my head, I think one of the Mahoraba limited edition DVDs also had a CD included as an extra, and the songs on that CD aren't available seperately yet either (I suppose it still might happen, but by then the market will be cooled off). In either case, time will tell.

You can hope. Currently they're with everything else on the 'extra incentives to buy the DVDs' list. It's pretty reasonable they would release it eventually though, although there's still been no word of it happening. Across the 3 DVDs 20 BGM tracks have been released so far though.

well.... cdjapan canceled my accepted order for the ep 2 limited edition DVD with Nerine CD saying they "no longer had it in stock or could get it from the distributor" .... translation for "we can't be bothered to keep our website offerings connected to our actual stock on-hand" ... grrrrr.

Placed an order for it with someone else... we'll see how that goes...

I don't know how many CDs are being planned in all, only that there are 12 DVDs that will each need "Limited Edition" items. I find it hard to believe that there'd be enough music to fill 12 CDs, though (even if you only include 5-8 tracks on each), but we'll see...

I don't know how many CDs are being planned in all, only that there are 12 DVDs that will each need "Limited Edition" items. I find it hard to believe that there'd be enough music to fill 12 CDs, though (even if you only include 5-8 tracks on each), but we'll see...

well.. I will say this is the first time cdjapan has pulled that stunt ... I m much more used to seeing it from smaller hobby shops (including one memorable instance of a California hobby shop selling items on ebay that they didn't actually have on hand, yeah they gave me my money back but they wasted two weeks that I *could* have been spending finding the item elsewhere).

I just have no sympathy for a business offering items for sale they don't actually have in stock when integration of website and stock database stopped being cutting edge technology five years ago.

And if they do release some sort of OST compilation after all of the DVDs are released, you'll be waiting until at least October. So... don't get your hopes up, unfortunately. There may never ever be a standalone OST release for the anime; so far, the CDs included with the limited edition DVDs are all there is.

Hehe, Lucky you ^^ but here in Colorado we have the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival and I just celebrated the Chinese Lunar Year ^^ (theres still a Chinese New Years party today at my university ^^)

BTW, about the sheet music there are a few sites which provides them. The best site out there is probably www.ichigos.com but they don't have SHUFFLE yet. But theres probably some other sites with the piano score, but its just really hard to find :(

Well.. technically it's the Lunar New Year - which a number of cultures celebrate . .. .and you know the Japanese.. any excuse for a festival. :)
Seriously, new year festivals tend to get held in different areas anywhere from early January until mid-February so as to avoid competing with other events and depending on facility availability. Same thing with the O-ban festivals in August.

A number of cities with sufficient Japanese populations have festivals including "mochitsuki" festivals .... Portland, OR doesn't have huge population but enough to sustain a number of festivals, including a mochitsuki and an oban. There are several buddhist temples in the area that get involved (and we also have that one and only "official" American Shinto Shrine north of us near Seattle).
Our local consul-general from Japan opened the festivities up with his own participation in the pounding. We had taiko drumming (local groups) and a couple of dance groups from Japan, lots of booths, kendo, music, and art demonstrations, and a local jpop band called A Key Kyo that actually was pretty good.

January 1 is when the local buddhist temples "do their thing" and most families have the traditional mochi and ozoni (like my family does).

As far as how common this all is.... it is most common on the coastal regions (West, East, and there's a large Japanese community in Texas) ... your chances of finding Japanese activities inland are more mixed.... it just kind of depends on where Japanese settled --- though the college towns are probably not a bad chance.

Oh and just to pull this marginally ontopic.... thanks for the DVD explanation and the sheet music lead everyone.

Well I enjoyed all the BG music & the image song (which sounded a bit different..), & that talk by primula at the end (which I think was really!! nice ~> even if I couldn't really understand every word :heh: but I did got the drift of things also I much rather hear 'Rin' then anything else..... >.> so that was a plus). Not being bias, I think out of all the songs and the talk at the end of the cd of the girls, I'd have to say Sia had the best Song by far (well not by heaps! nerine does have a nice song, but sia wins by far in listening to the song over and over and over again :eyespin: :heh: ) out of all the girls; nice fast beat song with great music, and Primula had the best mini talk at the end; heartwarming and down to earth.

There's a new set of character radio CDs that just started, with two (http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000EBDE8K/qid=1151945658/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2_2/503-1851053-7223151) volumes (http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000F6YS0C/qid=1151945658/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_2_1/503-1851053-7223151) out so far (but personally, even independant from the language barrier, I don't find character radio CDs that interesting to begin with). If it's from the flashback at the beginning of the episode the songs name is Michi and is from the SHUFFLE! special BGM volume 3.
But if it's the song from episode 20, then I'm not sure sorry :[

The only one I'm sure of is #8, yuria (as far as I know) plays Ama, so its likely not one of the 5 OP/ED (and hearing it, it really doesn't sound like one). On the other hand though.....if 後藤邑子 = Kaede then perhaps 12 is her ED. Well anyways, after assuming some of the matching Kanji I relooked over the list and it looks like Primula's ED is missing (I really liked that one too ><). It also looks like Sia has quite a few songs on this CD. o.O Anyhoo, if anyone else figures out anything, please post here, thanks! :D

Pray- Haruka Nagami It's catchy the first couple times you listen to it, but after a while, Haruka Nagami's voice isn't as pleasing.
Pureness- Hitomi I liked it only because it had the same tune as Kimi wo Omou Melody. Otherwise, it really wasn't great.
Mirage Lullaby- Yuria I liked this song, and I think they should have included it in the anime moreso than just a random insert that was difficult to hear at all.

Yuria's "You" was a really catchy OP. One of the few I can still listen to to this day without any bad thoughts.
And that she played Ama just makes her better. :D
