OK i now know that the VanDread manga is unlicensed
I NEED to know where to get it
Try the manga channels on irc, e.g. #mangaproject and #mangareaders. I remember dling chapters 1 and 2 of Vandread manga, but I didn't like it very much. No, scratch that, I didn't like it at all.

*revives dead thread*
SCX-Scans has started a scanlation of Vandread (http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=2712) volume 2; Manga-Daisuki scanlated volume 1 like five years ago. Supposedly they plan on doing Special Stage (http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=10714) as well - that's not the Extra Stage novel with the post-Second Stage story that everyone is looking for, but it has its own sort of conculsion to the manga story.

Looks like this thread never got properly recreated after the hack/crash; there used to be manga summaries and comparison to the anime and stuff.

*dead thread revive again!*
SCX-Scans finished Vandread volume 2 (http://scxscans.anime-squared.net/blog/?page_id=1727), and they say they will be doing Special Stage as well.
