For some reason, I am posting on the correct timeline, but some of the people on the forums have jumped two hours into the future. I found this very humorous, but I thought maybe the admins would like to correct this bug. :heh:

EDIT
Like the good man JAF says, we actually can't post anymore. But I can still edit my nice thread ^-^

Forum Database Error
Sorry, the database sent itself to mid-2004. In lieu of enjoying the AnimeSuki forums please enjoy these Bottle Fairies.

That`s because the new server got the right time.

I thought at first too, but if you check the newest threads page, then you see lots of people STILL posting in the future. While the main pages shows the current time correct now (as the server timer is correct) 99% of all posts seem to be dated 2 hours in the future. Usually when the time gets corrected into the past then there will be some "old" posts shown as being from the future, because of the timestamp that was saved with the post, but there won't be new ones with the wrong time.

EDIT: I was one of those future posters too (and I wasn't able to post anything because I always got the "only one post per 30 seconds error", while my last post was > 1 hour ago) but for some reason I just timewarped into now :)

So is there anyway that i can fix this, or is it something the person in charge of the server has to do...or will it fix its self? ^_^

Could someone (most likely the only one with those powers is mb81) please take a look and try to fix this problem?

Usually when setting the time backwards by 2 hours everything should be back to normal after 2 hours.

But it's more than 6 hour after the change and we have still people posting in the future AND we have people posting with the correct time in parallel.

Feel free to call me not flexible enough, but IMHO it's impossible to follow any thread when the posts are mixed up like this :P (and mark posts as read doesn't work properly either as it uses timestamps ...)

EDIT:
New posts from the future seem to have stopped for now (I hope it's not just a coincident). Though some new users are still about 2 hours in the future. I wonder what happens if one of them would post now.

Example:
Last Activity : Today 06:24
Currently : Viewing Forum Fansubs @ 06:24
All times are GMT +1 hour. The time now is 04:26.

EDIT 2:
Guess I found the reason why we get no posts from the future anymore. After wondering why we get NO new posts anymore at all, and quite a bunch of complaints in the irc channel I tried to create a new post:

There seems to have been a slight problem with the AnimeSuki Forum database.
Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Others report they "just" get a permission denied error as if not being logged in. Only editing posts seems to work still.

I will try to keep this post updated with news as they roll in as long as edit posts work.

Seems posting works again. If it still doesn't work for you, then try to logout and re-login.

First we all get thrown back in time three months, then some of us got thrown forward in time by two hours. Oh AnimeSuki forum, why must you toy with us so?

Well, maybe you should switch to the Threaded View for the time beeing, since there the posts aren't ordered by time anyways...

Do people really care about using the "correct" reply button? It seems most just hit the closest reply they find (which might actually be the right one anyway) :p And then threaded view won't help much :p

It doesn't really have to do much with this topic, but: Since there is a new Server, how long will it take for it's IP address to distribute to all DNS-Servers? Because at the moment I'm only able to use the forum, because I've entered the ip manually into my hosts file.

Depends. From my experience up to 2-3 days. Usually within 24h though (lots of DNS caches seem to use a TTL (time to live) of 24h regardless what the DNS record specified. With some bad luck you get your DNS info from a DNS caching cascade ...

BTW, I'm glad that the time is finally correct, but I wonder how long this will stay.

Same here.

Yeah, no doubt. I was bored silly today cause I couldn't post or see any new threads on AS. It's amazing how much you miss it when the site is down. :D
