Episode 63 Screencaps and Long Summary (http://randomc.animeblogger.net/2006/01/10/bleach-63/)

-Recap of the fights from Soul Society and of Aizen and what he did.
-Shows everyone one week later.
-Ichigo and Inoue search for Rukia, and find her after she's made an apology to Kuukaku and Ganjuu for killing their brother.
-Rukia tells Ichigo that she's not going back.
-Ukitake gives Ichigo a substitute shinigami battle license.
-Urahara is there to catch Ichigo and company when they emerge back in the human world. He apologizes to Ichigo.
-Everyone returns home.

So they did do what I thought they'd do and recapped Soul Society for the first half of this episode (b/c otherwise they wouldn't have enough material to take up the hour). It transitions fairly well with the "One week after" stuff. There's a lot of forgiving going on as everyone is patching up relations strained by the situations. And Ichigo saying "I'm home" outside of the clinic feels like a nice way to end the episode.Please do not discuss anything past episode 63, or else you risk a ban. Even tags are no defense.

Edit: I forgot to mention: there is a new ED airing next week, 「マイペース」 (My Pace) by SunSet Swish (http://www.sunsetswish.com/).

It's missing the Matsumoto asking Hisagi and Komumura to go drink with Kira and herself, Hisagi joins in and them commenting on how they think its better Komumura doesn't wear the helmet anymore... Then Ichigo and Orihime walk by and Matsumoto asks them to join but Ichigo says their busy, quickly asks where Rukia is, then Orihime says underage to drink, but Matsumoto says they have nice tea too...

Also Kira getting piss drunk and going on mini tirade and singing with Matsumoto (unless I dreamed that part).

Missing Ichigo climbing into his room and finding Kon in his body "thinking" of Orihime and doing "things" to himself (in Ichigo's body no less hahahah)...

Not that I don't understand why they cut those scenes out... lmao

Well, good children the 'Soul Society' arc has been officially closed down.

Hope all of you got a strong stomach, because you all gonna need it for next week as it begins twenty-six, yummy episodes full of pure, undiluted, filler material that are going to last until late-July or early-August.

The manga story will resume until episode 91, I guess.:confused:

After the end of the episode I just had to let out that huge sigh of content and a bit of sadness along with it, but mostly content. :)

The episode in itself was from mildly amusing to highly amusing. There was a few attempt to bring in the serious-mood in the episode but something has always happened to counter it. For example, when Rukia tried to bring the mood down, Shiba punched her nose bloody. :heh:

Even though the first 20 mins was recap of the highlights of action in Bleach, Kon was hilarious as usual through his snide remarks. Somtime Ichigo, Ishida, and Renji joined in on the fun. Those comments were especially amusing during the Renji-Byakuya recap when everyone seems to find something wrong with Renji's ability and his bankai at that moment in fighting which resulted in his eventual defeat. :heh:

I have really enjoyed this episode and am already looking forward to the filler. From the preview it shows the series will adopt the similar setting the series Bleach started out with which made Bleach a likable series for me. Beside, the anime team has done such a superb job converting its script, they have earned the benefit of the doubt as the burden of storytelling fall on their shoulder. Yeah, I'll give them at least two episodes. :heh:

I'm glad they didn't cut off the part where Hitsugaya comes in and scares Matsumoto, that was probably one of the funniest Bleach moments :heh: Same for when Matsumoto and Kira get drunk.
Pretty funny episode overall, I feared the long recap but the random Kon comments didn't make it bad.

The mean guys from the preview looked so much like Charden and Kyouko from Black Cat. Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait and see what they can do in the future episodes.

:D I always disliked this part in the manga. I hate when people say goodbye to each other :p It always makes me so sad.

Anyway, great ep! It was quite enjoyable. I was worried they were going to rush the first half, with all the goodbyes etc., then the second half have a filler. But I liked the way they ended up doing it.

I'll give these fillers a chance. They look promising.

:heh: Damn completely forgot there was an episode this week. :eyespin:

Well this was a mixed bag, the recap bit was pretty funny. Renji and Ichigo deserve their own spin off show:heh:. As for the conclusion episode of the arc some animation scenes looked off here and there but everything was pretty good on a whole. Lots of comedy without sad goodbyes just like it should be. Zaraki's "We will meet again" speech was a nice touch and lots of MIA Yachiru so it's all win. I'm glad they kept the Rukia punch in the face after I started seeing changes here and there I got a little worried. Although when you see it coming it's not as enjoyable:heh:.

The preview for the next looks hilarious what the hell happened to Kon:heh: and the 3 mysterious people seem interesting. Can't wait for the "Oh noes it's filler" bitching to begin:heh: Anyway there's a new ED coming up don't know if it comes with this coming ep or the next. Should be interesting to see how things go from here with Renji visiting Ichigo:heh: :eyespin:

Well Bleach filler villans (?) don't look nearly as bad as Naruto's. Aoi looked girlish. Whatever the guy who handled lightening sword, was plain weird. Iwa bee clan = unassuming and not very recognizable. I'm sure I'm missing a few, so that speaks volume of how easily they're forgotten. What I'm worried about is that the design of these new characters look off-key from the others we've seen in the series so far.

Why is Hinamori in intensive care when Hitsugaya already up and running around? :confused: Its seem like Hitsugaya suffer more damage against Aizen when they battle each other :p

And why is its Ukitake that present the badge thing? Why wont yamamoto give it out? Or KB himself?

And like monir.. I'm giving the next arc 2 play test episode.. they better be satisfyying cause I'm out of anime to watch anymore >_< ... What with RM going to end in 3/4 more episodes :sad: Hina Ichigo !!! Ganbaree !!! eh? wrong thread :heh:

The whole Hinamori situation was kinda stretching it by the makers. Seems like they let her live just so no one could die in the anime.
She should have died, Aizen screw up badly, at his level couldnt even kill a weakling like Hinamori. Unless he didnt want to kill her, that case he might have more feelings for her then he let on, unless he purposely didnt kill her and needed her for something later on, all business then, or unless he only want to remove an obstacle right then and there, couldnt care less whether he killed something or not.
Things like this really make you question Aizen's competence to be the evil person.

I agree with you too, it seems like he didnt think it throught or something, as if he is only after the power and once he have it then...nothing...he just takes a break.
The man doesnt plan ahead, much better is it to kill off all SS at the start then drag Rukia in front of the giant pigeon that is on fire, instead of all this roundabout.
Now all his enemies are still alive and they know his intention, he totally misused his element of surprise.

Oh geebus with this arc ending which was damn damn good and from the preview for the next arc which looks to be useless filler crap, can you say naruto... They should've just ended it here. Anyways heres hoping for some decent storyline and upcoming eps.

I so friggin hate you Aizen...... OK, not quite, he makes a cool villain. But still, stabbing Momo-chan and repaying her near blind loyalty with treachery is just plain sickening cruel. :mad:

I'm kinda looking forward to how this filler arc goes compared to Naruto. People seem to forget that Bleach has a different director than Naruto despite being in the same studio. Plus Kubo Tite is rumoured to have some amount of creative license for the anime.

Ohhh, this was a really funny episode! I lol'd a couple of times, especially at the end when the big dude Urahara keeps around used his "Tesai Death Catch"! :heh:
So next week is the start for the filler season. It will be interesting to see if they can pull it off better than Naruto.

Anyway, on to my question ..Oh, that's because there are folks who likes to read the thread before they even watch the episode themselves. Sometimes reading-without-watching can ruin big surprises for some viewers, so the sensible folks like to put things in spoiler which serves to warn a viewer, "click it if you like but it will only ruin your enjoyment." Remember when a lot of people were surprised when Tousen turn on the good guys after giving all those goody two pants speech to Kenpachi? :heh:

I also heard foolish people needs more time in healing, especially after they were stabbed by the person they were devoted to and admired the most. The second part was a made up. :heh:

Pure speculation here but I think the old man is probably sulking to the fact the Ryokas were called the savior of SS instead of him. I also think the old man has a point, for he lits himself on fire to fight his opponents. Too bad we didn't see the continuation to that fight. May be Kubo is saving his fight for the next time we meet the ever so sexy Aizen.

Yeah, Hina Ichigo!!! Ganbaree!! Suigintou!!! Ganbaree!! Btw, has some of the smileys shed their color and yellow-bellied no more? I adjusted my contrast a couple of times before I came into that conclusion.

after re-watching the preview for next week, I am starting to get a little worried about the fillers...one bad guy was in a top hat, and the other in jacket with fur or something like that... I just don't have much faith in them. I am going to give them a chance though...see how it goes.

You know that one normal episode takes about 2 months to produce? (someone correct me on the time, but it's something similar to this). These 2 weeks were holidays, not a timeout for extra work. :uhoh:

thinking " Oh crap, I waited a MONTH FOR AN HOUR OF RECAP?!?!?!?!!?!? "

Then things got really entertaining during the dojo scene and from then on I was laughing my ass off almost non stop until the end.

the only thing is, I'd rather have seen a Jinta HOMERUN! Than a Tesai Death Catch!
yeah, I just skipped the entire first half of the "special"

I kept asking myself, "what is so f'n special about a 30 minute recap?!" heh then I found the dojo scene and started watching from there.

I was never really interested in Kon, I don't think he's cute or funny, he more or less just gets on my nerves. To each his/her own right?

Anyway, ep "64" was good hehe

Bah humbug! I really like this kid! He's my favorite of the captains cause his Bankai is just badass in my opinion. Glad he lived, was rooting for him to live, long live Hitsugaya! The girls shoulda died though. Bah what a dummy. How could you screw up so bad, nearly get my favorite captain killed, and live to cause more trouble? Bah!
I guess my affinity towards Hitsugaya is cause I like the "Ice" element over most others. Heh. :heh:

All i have to say is that this episode was dissapointing. The first half was just bull and the 2nd went by way to quickly. Like they rushed through everything. And yea i cant believe Rukia stayed behind.....and on the preview WHO ARE THESE NEW PEOPLE?! (hits head against wall*)

I don't think anyone knows. I'm assuming they are filler characters. I guess they will go through a "bad guy of the week" thing for a while. That's ok with me tho, I don't mind too much. As long as they don't get ridiculous like the naruto fillers. Most of the Naruto fillers were horrible, and some were tolerable. I'm hoping that for Bleach, it will be the exact opposite. Where most are good, but some are just okay.

Well just had a chance to download/watch the episode, I'm probably one of the few to watch the entire episode :heh: . I didn't mind the first two minute recap, a nice refresher, since Oct 2004 was when Bleach started. The fights weren't really needed though, second half was pretty good though. Was a bit dissapointed Rukia stayed behind, but there's something that makes me think that won't last long :)

I watched the entire episode and the recap part wasn´t that bad. I found the Kon part to be a little funny and they added some new music to some of the fights too.

For me my favourite part would have to be when Rangiku talked to Kira.

Kira:I´m sorry I went all out against you
Rangiku: It´s alright, cause I didn´t!

Of course Ichigo vs the bald guy vs Kenpachi was funny aswell and even Byakuya was a little funny this episode. "I know he didn´t mean to call me by my first name!"

Well...after all she's been through, she needs to reassessed her situation and strengthen the bond with her big-brother. I reckon that if things didn't happen, she probably would've left with Ichigo...but a lot of things happened. Conspiracies have been revealed and first and foremost, Rukia found out that Byakuya actually has a heart.

I mean, after finding out that your big-bro has a heart, who wouldn't stay? I definitely would've stayed. XD

I hope this upcoming fillers are better but I'm giving them a couple of chances before I drop and just wait for the next arc to happen.

I guess some people have never played pencil-and-paper role-playing games (Dnd, Cthulu, etc). Hinamori was hugging Aizen (flat-flooted, in threat range), so Aizen didn't have to really try. So, I agree she should have died but Hitsugaya was in a battle with Aizen so he was actively trying to defend himself.

:topicoff: True but Hinamori was flat-footed, NOT HELPLESS or immobilized so a coup-de-grace is not applicable unless Aizen had some sort of ability to pull that. At the most, she didn't have her Dex bonus added to her AC, surprised and all that. And even if Aizen HAS a sneak attack, it has to be pretty good to kill a vice captain with one hit. They can't be THAT weak. But yeah, after the first hit, if Aizen really wanted someone dead, he could administer a coup-de-grace while they were unconscious, automatic critical, etc. And that goes for Hitsugaya, too, he WAS surprised, as Aizen used an ability to open his opponent up for what can possibly be a sneak attack. Since Hitsugaya couldn't anticipate the hit, Aizen's ability could pretty much had him flat-footed. But it actually depends on what rules you use in DnD and what sort of abilities Aizen has. Using some house rules or variant rules COULD kill a vice captain with just a good critical hit (Wound/Vitality points variant).
Now, let's say that what you wanted to say is that her action (hugging) fails in the categories that permit a coup-de-grace (automatic critical). It's still not enough to alone kill someone of vice-captain status probably, unless you use variant rules regarding criticals.

So, it was either intended for various reasons, or just poor writing. Although I AM pleased Hinamori is alive :D.

Why did they change her eye color? She used to have lovely purple eyes, but for a huge part of the scene with the Shiba, her eyes are clearly black/dark grey.

Although the purple seems to have returned a little in the last good bye scene.

Cue the overinterpretive speculation!

At first I suspected it was an indication of mood, she's very subdued for the Shiba, and probably "Steeling herself," but then I remember she's been in worse spots and they still went with the full on purple.

Then I thought it might be because she'd had the houkyoku removed, but decided that was just silly, especially since she switched to lilac at the end of the episode.

You're right, it probably doesn't mean much more than which animator worked on that scene.

It could be because he really does feel unbearable guilty about not being able to protect her. He was always saying "if you make Hinamori spill a drop of blood, I'll kill you balabalabla"...and in the end he didn't even notice that she was following him, nor see through Aizen's facade. He missed multiple opportunities to prevent her from being hurt and he probably blames himself. Also...he might be doing the whole "I cannot face her until I have killed the one that did this to her" *cue Hitsugaya cold, angry look*.

Either way *sigh*...poor Hitsugaya...=(

On this episode, they showed Hitsu and Gin fought where Hitsu actually used his Bankai......... did I miss something here? What previous episode was that? The only fight I remember where Hitsu used his Bankai was with Aizen.....
That fight is in ep 47.. and that was his shikai NOT bankai.

Before her meeting with Ichigo, She didn't seem to have trouble dealing with Hollows. For someone such "headstrong", it must be difficult to bear.

Part of me is really wishing Bleach would have ended with the "united front" of the Captains and the Ryoka defeating Aizen and his bunch - and then, I'd consider Bleach one of the true great Animes. But, as so often happens, creators think if they can drag on the Anime/Manga more and more, they can make more money - and in today's world, money is quickly replacing artistic integrity in the Artistic market.

As a result, some Anime has tended to become very anti-climactic - and Bleach is really one of the worst kinds when it comes to this - more than 40+ episodes of Ichigo & friends preparing to rescue Rukia, battling stronger and stronger opponents as they go, and at the same time, becoming stronger themselves. Then, Rukia suddenly decides to stay, and Ichigo returns home. That should be "THE END" right there - but now we have a continuation - not a sequel, prequel, movie, etc. - we're simply continuing, after a serious anti-climactic letdown.

Does this mean I'll stop watching? Not really - its just a complaint I have. :p

I'd like to see a few eps with captains coming to the real world incognito and living as normal beeings.
Just imagine Kenpachi coming at school with Ichigo and Rukia or eating ramen in a bar, Shunsui teasing schoolgirls, Mayuri at the infirmary, Byakuya and Kyoraku attracting girls' attention etc....

:) just an idea, but that could make a funny filler.:D

1. Satisfactory recap for all the showdowns taking place in Soul Society, although they dropped the Sado v.s. Kyouraku fight.:upset:

2. The audience to which Kon, Ichigo, Renji, & at last Toshiro were addressing:
a) Front row (left to right) - Nanao , Nemu , Kiyone , Rangiku , Isane.
b) Back row (left to right) - Ichigo's family , the cat Yoriuchi , Yachiru.

3. Kodak moments. Quite memorable!
a) Byakuya's expression is plainly flattened out when Ichigo addressed him by his first name to which he asked Renji to verify that confirmation.

b) Everybody's cleavage deity, Matsumoto, making puns about her "assets" under the effects of alcohol.

c) Never getting fed up about the 11th squad's childish tantrums to provoke a fight, especially if we grant that Madarame and Ichigo were just getting into a brawl for a trivial issue.

d) Second scary moment: Ichigo salutes Zaraki , Ichigo greets him thumbs up , Ichigo's wooden sword gets sliced without warning , Zaraki boils up with bloodlust , Zaraki prepares to drag Ichigo to another death-duel fight , Yachiru points out to Zaraki that Ichigo has already run away without warning.
Believe me that I laugh aloud with that last shot:heh:

e) Kuukaku beating the bloody nose out of Rukia in punching bag fashion.
Few instances in anime that a girl beats the crap out to another girl.
What's laughable for that shot is the automatic, monotone manner that Kuukaku punches Rukia in the face everytime the latter tries to apologize for.:heh:

f) Urahara's apology deserved him a trademark, Ichigo face smash. :heh:

The Best Moment.
The 11th Squad makes a ruckus for the 4th Division but are quickly silenced by Captain Unohana's remark.
-"Don't forget that your lives rest on my hands."

That comment along with the closeup shot of Unohana's expression on her face makes it the whole scene earn merits of its own.

I'll be thankful and ready to deliver some Kon extravaganza for anyone that makes an avatar of Unohana for that particular scene in the episode.

his relationship with Byakuya would get better, and damn, she seriously needs to improve her shinigami skills. A hard training would be more than necessary, especially since Aizen and co can come back at any moment

Nonetheless it was a good episode, compared to previous Bleach fillers, with a nice, heart-touching goodbye-scene.

But hey, who honestly thinks we won't see Rukia again, soon? I guess she has to recover strength, manage her stuff on soul society and that's it. Maybe she even finds a way of coming to the Human world with a body that doesn't drain her powers and we'll even see HER soul slayers shinkai and such? (I doubt she has a Bankai though)

By the way, was the name of her soul slayer mentioned before? I don't remember it, if it was it must have been ages since then.

I'm actualy quite anxious to see it.

I dont think they had it in the anime, but I remember from reading the manga back in june that Byakuya was at a 3rd floor window... and they made quite a few jokes about Inoue climbing up there with Ichigo..

Her power absolutely enough to beat a Hollow,training is not neccessary, she can beat a Hollow by herself easily,she only weak when she wear the body Urahara make.Rukia's power--how beautiful is a white colour soul slayer...:p

Sorry, but you're wrong...
First, if I'm correct, Ichigo consumes most of Rukia's power from the very first eps. It has been said many times, and especially in eps 16 when Byakuya says "so it's that guy who takes Rukia's power ?"

Second, the last Hollow Rukia fought on Earth, she barely escape from him...

And last, Rukia is not a vice captain or so ever. I don't remember exactly her rank, but I seriously doubt she could be of any help against a Menos Grande, or a Hollow like the one who invested Kaien's body.

The very first hollows we've seen were just some random ones : human spirits like Orihime' bro, the little cockatiel, and so on.
From now, Ichigo and the gang are going to fight fierce and evil Hollows who have specific goal, are aware of shinigami's power, etc.
So Rukia won't be of any help if she stays like that...

BTW, I'm not spoiling anything, I don't read the manga (just in case if some mod has his finger twitching...)
