Episode 64 Screencaps and Long Summary (http://randomc.animeblogger.net/2006/01/17/bleach-64/)
-Ichigo returns home, everything seems to go back to normal (briefly).
-Renji shows up at school (he's now in charge of Karakura City) and a hollow soon after. Ichigo defeats it.
-At night, Inoue and Sado are practicing still to become stronger.
-Inoue has a dream about her brother when she was young. She hears the doorbell and goes to get it and there's her brother standing in front of her.
-Ichigo and company all sense that something's going on and head to Inoue's house, but arrive too late as Inoue's being sucked into a portal.
This episode isn’t entirely original material, as they’re using some of the everyone-back-to-normal material from chapter 183 of the manga. Not a bad start to the new arc, and I definitely didn’t expect them to use the Orihime's brother angle again. Remains to be seen if Inoue will be the central character this arc…Please do not discuss anything past episode 64, or else you risk a ban. Even tags are no defense.
The ending theme is great! The episode in itself isn't bad at all but I need the sub to understand some of the jokes, especially, the one involving Renji in Urahara's store. Oh, and this episode had Ururu in it...

Did I mentioned the ending theme is great!! I even loved the animation sequence that went along with it. I loved it from the first time heard it unlike the other ending them that needed to be get used to.
I havent seen it but, as long as the ending theme is better than the 'Happy People' one, im happy.

Great series, nice way to open the arc. The new ending is so much better than i thought it would be.

I will watch this arc in the forlorn hope that Momo will appear.
Still, having read the manga, I do like the idea of moving away from it. As far as possible.

Bah sorry forgot to add.
monir: That part is when Renji eats dinner with Urahara and his companions. It was first experience tasting real food. Having a sensation like that, so basically they were teasing him. Going "Oh scared of having your first taste bud" "Oh it was good, no? You would like some more"
Holy crap, Im turning into a translator...
Does anyone know what the ED songs says, i hear Oh fairs!. Is that right?
Questions for episode 64.
Didn't the portal through where Inoue was sucked in curiously looked alike to the Gate of Hell where Ichigo sent the Shrieker Hollow back in episode five?
Ichigo puns Renji for being degraded from Vice-Captain status, since the latter has been reassigned to Karakura City.
What became of the Shinigami with the wierd afro hair-do that became Rukia's replacement of Karakura?
To remark about Inoue's brother is that he stabbed himself with Ichigo's zanpakuto while momentarily released from the Hollow. That happened at the very start of the series, way back to episode three.
And since Inoue's brother never committed any kinds of grave sins while alive, and forced to be transformed into Hollow, his soul very much ended in Soul Society.
The brother that came to see Inoue was probably an impersonator.
Bah sorry forgot to add.

Actually, the word 'isouro', which had stressed to term Renji as, means a non-paying house-guest, a freeloader. So when Renji wanted seconds for his meal, they kept going on about how he was a freeloader, but kept offering him the food, so Renji couldn't ask for seconds and left the table.

Not a bad episode. Maybe it's just me but everyone looked beefier than usual?:heh: Like when Orihime wakes up in the middle of the night she was hulk-like. I think this is as close as I'm going to get to a Ichigo x Renji spin off:heh: Anyway storywise it's an interesting angle so far it all comes down to how the 3 mystery people fit into all this. I'm not sure how to feel about the generic-looking bad guys in the ED some of them looked like SNK/Playmore rejects:heh:. As for ED I don't like the song maybe it'll grow on me but the sequence is cute and funny.
The part with Renji and co I don't remember the lines word for word but it goes something like this
Tessai- How about second? Even though you are a freeloader you shouldn't be reserved. So how about one more bowl freeloader-dono
Renji - Eh sure
Ururu- Seconds are the best so don't be modest please freeloader-san
Tessai- So how about it
Renji Ok then I'll have some
Jinta- Even for a freeloader we should give you some seconds so eat up
Urahara- Freeloader this freeloader that, is not a problem. You should be able to have your seconds right freeloader-san?
Renji- I can't eat seconds
Jinta- Hey I'll leave the store cleaning to you tomorrow ok?
Renji- What!?
Jinta- You are a freeloader after all so should be able to do that much if you want seconds
Tessai- SO how about it, freeeeeloader-dono?
Ururu- Please
Renji- Thanks for the food
Ururu- Jinta I feel so sorry for him

That was a strange ending sequence. I liked the song anyway, thanks for posting it Starks
i think my favorite part is that they are all wearing normal outfits again instead of those death god robes. i dont like it when characters wear the same thing throughout a series.
i also feel pretty bad for that asano kid. he tries so hard to have friends but fails miserably
the plushie-dance in the end is really hypnotic! i love the song :)
but ichigo looks like a 2-meter boy (sakuragi hanamichi, you're not from this show!)
Well, this filler was pretty entertaining and hope the rest will too. They are way too close to the manga for comfort so i'm betting we'll be getting a couple months filler. But like naruto, if they focus on unfocused characters like my sado, i won't be mad! Bring in more shunsui too!
As for the ending, how cute! I wonder if those animals will be in the story? They're really cute, especially the turtle.

The presence of all the plushie animals, inoue's brother, and Kong's stareing at said plushies makes me think that this arc's about mod souls. I which case Inoues brother's body is being inhabited by a mod soul.
Just food for thought. I in no way take responsiblity for the truth or lies my observation my cause.

He has friends, well I think that Ichigo is at least his friend...
hmmm... not really jumping up and down with the episode .. :/
But damn.. orihime musta have some workout. Just look at her arms when she was standing near the sink.. Its huge!!! o_O
And why is she changed her night gown afterward? Like she was expecting to go out >.>
And lol at how they pick on Renji .. :heh: I wont return to that shop if I was him ^.^
And Renji (unlike Rukia) have no problem with language ... Remember how Rukia started to go to school? Her tones was ANNOYINGLY cute :D
And lastly (wow so many and) ... Isnt Kon replaced Ichigo when hes gone? so why is everybody like "hey ichigo!! welcome back" ??? Its not like he's telling everyone that "I'm going to heaven (SS)... that is my plushie taking over my body for the time being "
And .. :heh: OK I'll stop here ^_^
Wow! Bleach filler for the win!
I don't think I've enjoyed an episode of Bleach this much since... the show started. If the filler keeps this quality I don't want it to stop! :p
And poor Renji, being mocked for being a freeloader. :)

Loved this episode, and the ending theme is too badass
I *demand* more Orihime in night gown scene :o
That was a pretty good episode for a filler. It didn't have any real high points though. But it's successful as far as foreshadowing goes. I'm interested in how the bonds between Ichigo & Co. will be stregnthened or weakened and how they play that throughout the next arc from the manga. (Or if the next manga arc in the anime even recognizes this side arc at all.) It seems like some of the bonds would be rather passionate as far as Ichigo & Orihime, Ichigo & Ishida, and to a lesser extent Ichigo & Chad.
Other than that though, seems to be the typical evil villain operating outside of the main villain side story thing. Then again, I didn't expect them to make Orihime the main character of this side arc, so who knows what could happen? ;)
And yeah, the giant gate at the end definately reminded me of the gate Ichigo sent a hollow to in the very beginning of the story.
And the new ending is awesome. Straying from the edgier sound and look that Bleach usually provides, but equally stylish. Extra points for woodwind instruments and moonwalking/breakdancing turtle figure thing. :D
Also, for some reason the shots of Ichigo in the new ED reminds me of Saiyuki for some reason. I like the pissed off 'Who ate my cookies?' look Ichigo has though.
Now that I think of it the new ED really magnified my enjoyment of this episode. Since it was a very mysterious feeling episode that didn't have much concrete findings aside from Orihime being the main character of the side story, it segued perfectly into the mellow mysterious sounding ED music. (There were a few new songs in this episode as well. Or at least that I noticed.)

I have to agree. That was one of the funnest and funniest episodes of Bleach yet. If this is filler hell, then please damn me.
I loved it when Orihime explained her vacation to Tatsuki and just got patted on the head for it. After all, it really did sound like Orihime being the usual Orihime. And Renji getting bullied by Urahara-tachi was also hysterical. He wanted another bowl, he wanted it bad, but he just couldn't do it. :D
Now we just have to hope that the story, villians and fights are as good as the comedy. Unless it can pull off the full package I won't consider this filler a complete win.

I found this episode to be rather funny.
As many already mentioned Renji getting called Freeloader-dono and so badly wanting, but not asking, seconds was hilarious. :heh: (Not to forget Renji going "out of his way" to greet Ichigo at school either :D)
I always enjoy Ichigo vs father and Kon too. :D
If the fillers will keep this level I won´t have any problems at all.

Nope. Urahahahaha stabs him with his cane RIGHT before he leaves, without replacing him with the pill, also ichigo talks to his dad before he leaves saying he'll be gone. His dad than gave him a good luck charm from his mom if im right... they should of done more with that... like showed him look at it when he was about to die or atleast show him returning it like he said he would... but than it would of been left on his body he left unless he went back and picked it up as a death god...

Episode 64 was certainly fun to watch, I was expecting some crap filler since almost everybody has been harping on how terrible fillers are going to be, definitely pleasantly surprise by how fun this episode was. The freeloader stuff about Renji and Kon were simply hilarious. I miss Kon so much, the SS arc was good to watch, but definitely lacking in Kon comedy. I hope the future episodes are equally if not more fun to watch, of course, must not forget the new villains, I hope they are badass enough.
P.S. I am hoping that more folks from SS will join Renji, I would love to see Hitsugaya and Soi Fong freeloading at Urahara's as well.

I'd rather put this in spoiler and be wrong, than not and be banned :\
the part where Ichigo suggested Renji might have been demoted, OMFG the expression! it was facking hillarious!!!!
Seriously! Bleach filler FTW if it keeps up this level of quality! :D
and MORE KON! Kon scared the hell out of Renji when he came out of the closet, and that was so fracking hillarious! XDXD
and wtf is up with the new ending? a dancing chicken and turtle? wtf?

Well, the episode was good right up to the point where the irritating blond started that really annoying laugh. I hated Suiginto (gah, spelling?) in Rozen because of the laugh, and ended up skipping parts thanks to it. Hopefully this blond isn't going to be like that all the way through because that'll seriously ruin it for me.
Side note: I can handle any form of badguy except for the ones that have that condescending laugh (Creed in BC, Gin in Rozen etc).

Forgot to mention, I love the new ending, including that strange animation that comes along with it, the song totally rocks.
Heh, I like villains with condescending laugh, Creed's so perverted in Black Cat, his sickening laughter just adds to his perversity.

But dosn't the Badguy in the tophat look like Space Butler from Excel Saga? Complete with Yellow and Green hair?
^Omg, you are correct. He does look a lot like Space Butler. o_0
And is it just me or does Ichigo strongly resemble Onizuka from GTO in the new ending? (I'm not complaining, Onizuka is my hero :p)

Just finished watching and...
Wow! I'm considerably less worried about the future of Bleach now! That was an ace episode.
Also, for some reason the shots of Ichigo in the new ED reminds me of Saiyuki for some reason. I like the pissed off 'Who ate my cookies?' look Ichigo has though.
Glad I'm not the only one... As soon as I saw the clip I thought "Saiyuki!" He does resemble Sanzo-sama a teeny bit in those images and the more-badass-than-thou stance doesn't help :D (Ichigo is too cool!)
And the ending... :twitch: My initial reaction was "WTF???!!!" But I love the song and it's actually my secong favourite ED so far. Just wasn't what I expected when I heard there was a new ending...
The dancing dolls represent the new villians right? Chick = girl, Turtle = Top hat guy Bunny = Red haired guy?

Seriously, I mean, I think it has to be intentional...cause afterall, with all the colors of hair and facial types, why pick the 2 colors and facial type that exactly resemble space butler?

Meh, I'm probably the only one around who thinks this episode was nothing great. I found it rather dull actually and the dinner scene with Renji made me grin a little but nothing to laugh at.
This new ending for Bleach is very very weird and contrasting to the old endings.
Seems like there's some form of group insanity going on in this thread, the ending seems as though it's some preschool nursery rhyme, I can't understand people saying it's awesome or it rocks, but whatever.
The episode wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, that Renji food joke went on for a while with no real pay-off, I guess people are just surprised that a Bleach filler episode wasn't as bad as they dreaded and are heaping praise on it for being quite good. I definately prefer a multi episode arc rather than one-off episodes that this looks like it will be, so I hope they can keep it together and carry on the good work.
(Although the sooner the fillers end the sooner the ending theme will be changed)

Worst ending theme since the first one.
So far i've only liked the second, third and could tolerate Happy People after awhile.
The only hope it gave me was that having the three new baddies dancing around as plush dolls was indicating that they aren't going to be taking this arc too seriously and are just gonna have fun with it and not try to tie it in to the main plotline.
Otherwise it was a great episode for what it was. :)

OMG! That episode was hilarious XD! Every time Ichigo's father doing his Zangief-style air kick I was ROTLMAO, especially when he took that opening when Ichigo was talking with Karin :heh:
And Renji, what's with that '60s outfit? He looked so dumb while he was trying to separate from his "faux-body" :heh: That was nice to see the school setting again :)
LOL! Poor Ishida at the end, being slapped by Kon, well he asked for it though :D
The new ending is pretty funny btw :p

Maybe you wouldn't have sat and had coffee with your dead brother without thinking that something is wrong. I would have done it, but I'd have been watching carefully just in case it wasn't really my brother. (After all, I do know that dead people sometimes come back from Soul Society -- Dead doesn't mean non-existent.) Ichigo, Chad and Ishida would have also been various levels of cautious. On the other hand, this is Orihime. Orihime doesn't have any common sense, not even a shred. It was perfectly in character for her.
For me it was just,.. -being what happened to Orihime at the end. More of a feeling "Ah jeez... Not this crap again." Like the Soul Society arch, but a swap out of Ruchia. Of course there's the, -why the abduction.? At best we could see that they were laughing/giggling about it. ... Though this could mean one thing: Orgies. ... Ok,.. so SHE was only really doing most of the laughing/giggling. -Probably leaving us with the standard one on one yuri smash. But!, if there's anything that I learned from the way of the doujin, two guys are always available to step up as the challenger. ...Thus bringing us back around to the basic orgy.
Although, if they do involve a cat this time, we'll have to later consult Merriam as to probably what new labeling to call it later.
Lol Green! As shown in the preview, Orihime seems to be in the midst of Ichigo and company, so there might not be a do-over of Rescue Rukia arc.

Um, well the episode was pretty funny. The animation is alot different now....i dunno if thats a good or bad thing. All i know is that the ending is very....strange (O_O)
Woah talk about wierd, I was eating icecream and got a brain freeze the same time the scene of inoue eating icecream came on.
I'm pretty sure the gate was the gate too hell, which excited me.
The other day I was talking too my friend about "is Hell ever going too be seee again in bleach" and I think this Arc will be a about it, if you also noticed in the Credits, Dracula or some other Vampire guy is shown, which also makes me think this Arc also will have something too do with some olden day Organization from Castlevania or something *cough* Hellsing *cough*.
Inoue is also back in the preview for the next episode so we know she has not been killed.
also in the preview for this Arc, it shows some chick with a magma/fire dude, it shows her quickly in the Credits but not with the other people, which makes me belive she is actully a ally.
Great arc by the way, this will be a great time for non anime watchers too start watching.
The dancing dolls represent the new villians right? Chick = girl, Turtle = Top hat guy Bunny = Red haired guy?
ya it would seem that way.
I just noticed something. you know the part in the ending sequence where they flash a pic of the evil girl holding up a certian number of fingers for when the song says "1", "2", and "3"? why is she holding up her index, middle finger, AND thumb in the frame for "2"??? that's 3 fingers! sorry I can't give a screenshot. print screen for some reason doesn't capture video from any of my media players X_X

Maybe because Orihime had seen it all when she went into Soul Society during the previous arc? It's not that unbelieveable, since she doesn't really know what happen to souls after they've gone to SS. Perhaps she thinks that the souls visit their still alive relatives frequently. :heh:
A nice episode however, I'm disappointed with the ending. In my opinion the 3rd ending is the best, the one that shows each captain and vice captain on each episode.

Man that ep was pretty weak. I really do hope this arc has a point or good story to it and that they don't pull a naruto make a useless arc with pointless villians and fights all for nothing. I wanna see Aizen and his posse stirring things up and planning shit not some trio, reminds me of a evil fantastic four lol
This was a decent start for a filler, and there are a lot of things for me to say that revolve fast around my head.
What I could interpret about the Izouro pun was that Kisuke and his staff screwed up to Renji to have fun at his expenses.
Simply put, Renji became officially their laughingstock, punching bag.
The first joke that burst me up was Keigo's snide, gay joke about Ichigo and Chad going together somewhere on vacation since both were nowhere to be seen at the vicinity at that time.
This is further ridiculed when Ichigo and Chad turn their faces and look at each other.:heh:
The second one was the visual joke about Renji's frustration with the lack of free space in the gigai.
He looked like a newly-borned cicada trying to hatch out from its molten skin.
Ok. Now to business.
The plot on this episode centers around Inoue's insecurities and puts doubts on her capacities.
Inoue is conscious for her lack of help during the battles at Soul Society and puts strain on herself, feeling that she was a burden for Ichigo and the others.
Those strange characters saw an opening on her and exploited it, summoning the image of her deceased brother to lure her into their clutches.
Finally, I'm enthralled by the quality of the music played when the brother impersonator of Inoue's visits her, and the moment she's sucked into the portal.
If Pierrot keeps this level of quality in both directing and plot, this filler season will make for a satisfactory snack before moving to the next manga arc.

nice ep. Good comedy but I have a question about the gigai..
I thought that using a fake body slowly killed a shinigami's powers and made them human. Was that not what ichigo was told in soul city about rukia's body and why uruhara gave it to her? Did I miss something?

Simply put, Renji became officially their laughingstock, punching bag.
So? Wasn't Renji pretty much a laughingstock before? Besides, I think he's still cool. I don't think it'd fit Renji to stay dead serious all the time. He's still a kid.. relatively to the Soul Society.
I agree. The production value seems top notch.
One thing I find funny is how this particular angle is almost a mirror image to one of the mini-arch in Yu Yu Hakusho when the main gang was fighting a relatively weak but mysterious and sneaky enemy.
It'd be a funny coincidence if Ichigo gets into serious trouble like Yusuke did in that mini-arch.
Then again, both Yu Yu and Bleach are Pierrot products.
Worst ending theme since the first one.
The only hope it gave me was that having the three new baddies dancing around as plush dolls was indicating that they aren't going to be taking this arc too seriously and are just gonna have fun with it and not try to tie it in to the main plotline.
I wouldnt' say worst ending...cause I couldnt' stand Happy People, this new one seems bearable compared to Happy People.
not many anime series do that w/ there ED's anyways :P
this current arc seems pretty interesting and yeah I'll agree w/ another poster about that gate looking like the gate to Hell. The 3 new baddies seem very interesting, though the ED spoils what they look like and it seems there are a couple more baddies after them. I couldn't help but chuckle while Renji was trying to get out of his faux body :heh:
Did anyone notice the yoruichi cat form animation?
I think its very different from the original.

I loved happy people, it was great same with Number one (which has dissapeared >:( )
My favorite music though now has too be the Evil music that was played at the end of the episode, it was creepy and awesome at the same time.

Hmm...about the theme The "if a were a comet" one is best where they showed a new squad captain and lieutenant. I think is the worst. (even more so than happy people.)
Next...I didnt realy understand that Ishida scene where he was mumbling to himself about not being able to look away anymore. By the way is he still a quincy? I am questioning it. He might just not wanna admit he lost them.

I did lost his Quincy power when i fought the capt. Remember, he apologize to his grand-father because his using it, then i think we see a flashback of his g-father telling him that if he use it, he would loose all his Quincy power ... So he did loose it. About the mumbling.. sorry no idea!

Pretty funny episode, although the ending was kinda o_O
The way the new characters were split up, could it be some sort of faction thing? Maybe the characters we see first are the 'good' ones, who kidnap Orihime to try and get the heroes to help them out against the other faction? *shrug* Just speculating...

That seems to be the plan. However, it's said that Kubo Tite works at least a little with the anime team, so this could be at least somewhat in-canon. (As opposed to the Naruto scooby-doo arc...)

No, because Ichigo won't be going to search for a stupid bug to try to find Orihime, Or fight ghosts that are really men who are trying to get a god damn pocket watch to tick again, because its just so hard to find a friggen clocksmith.

i actually enjoyed the episode. it doesnt even feel like filler at all to me. hell if i didnt know it was i probably wouldnt suspect, so thats obviously a good thing.
this episode felt like the good ol' days with the humor and stuff. i was surprised to see renji show up, but its good to see hell be around. perhaps other captains/vice captains will make appearances as well.

i enjoyed the begining of the new arc. I loved the fact that i can see ichigo fighting with his dad again it cracks me up everytime his dad launches a sneek attack and gets his ass whooped. Also how about that close line by Ichigo when he gets back to school on that guy (cant remeber his name) but it made my neck hurt just looking at it. over all not bad i am sure how i feel about them using Orihime's brother again but i guess we will have to wait to see how it pans out.

Woah talk about wierd, I was eating icecream and got a brain freeze the same time the scene of inoue eating icecream came on.
LOL that's some crazy coincedience(sp?). This episode was funny with Ichigo's dad and him fighting during the morning. Also when they were messing with Renji lol:D. I really wonder who those 3 people are...(sorry I didn't read any posts before this page).

The thing is, this "filler" episode actually had more meaningful character development than maybe the last 4 or 5 episodes of the main story arch.
I always thought Kubo Tite was neglecting all the other characters except for a few Shinigami and Ichigo. I really think they need to do a lot more with Chad and Inoue.

Argh fillers, but Bleach has not disappointed me so far, so I expect it to be super stimulating to my brain. ^^

Actually, Chad and Inoue's doubts in this episode are pretty much straight from the manga (although of course different things are happening around them). Just so you know.
The filler has been good so far, although it remains to be seen how they'll treat the non-comedy aspects.

Yeah. I can see that. Except I think it really does the characters disservice when they merely comment on what's on their mind when all the main action is being done by Ichigo or other shinigami.

Lowered your standards? Why? It's not like episodes that don't have a manga equivilant are gonna suck... I think it's on par with past episodes, judging by ep64.

While it's not for sure that fillers are going to suck, there's a high probability that's it will since the fillers are not written by the mangaka. If the fillers' writers are able to come up with stuff as good as the original story, why the heck did they do an adaptation of Bleach anyway? Might as well write their own story from begining to end.

i honestly think this filler will just be an excuse to give characters who probably won't have a big part after the filler ends (just guessing, not spoiling ) like Chad, and Orihime, some decent screen time and make them have some important parts....

This episode is filler... Its just that the arc in the manga also has renji and others going to school with ichigo. I'm hoping there would be more interaction between renj & co. becuz the manga sorta jumped straight to the plot. BTW i haven't seen the episode yet :D (but its obviously that its filler)

Maybe it would be funny if Ichigo met the Afro guy. Then renji comes and says he's gonna watch the town and Ichigo says "What about the Afro-guy", and Renji says something like "I sent him home" and it has a flashback of him telling him, or Renji telling the Afro guy something comical, or the afro-guy being happy he's going back...lol

It was ok i cant wait to see the 65th epi and see some fighten. :D It going to be yummy to my tummy :p
After watching the ending again for like the 20th time I'm begining to think the mystery three might be Mod souls like Kon. As after it show each of the plushies it then shows what looks like Chappy (the replacement soul that Rukia wanted) add to that Renji saying he forgot to bring a replacement soul.
in my opinion, episode 64 is...... wierd .. they back from "heaven" and now they must go to "hell" ;] but i'm waiting for 65 and i want to know what will happen there

I think those a just a few funny creations for the ending, nothing more. ;)
About Renji not bringing a replacement soul: It doesn't make any sense at all, that he is running around in a Gigai, so why should he even bring a soul? ;)
To facilitate easy escape from his gigai, and to allow his gigai to escape from the fighting area.
For the hell of it, if it's Renji, it's not too off character. There's no rule stating that he can't use a gigai if he wanted to.
And I'm also leaning towards those trio being mod souls, but it's too early to tell yet where this story arc will be leading us.
It seems like normal gigai's let a Shinigami recharge while on earth. In all the cases you sited the Shinigami were not going to be on Earth long term, Rukia was just there to kill the hollow and would have gone right back home, same with the replacement, and Byakuya and Renji were there to pick up Rukia and take her back. Sandle hat guy and a few others that have been on Earth long term (and are spoilers) use gigai's as well. From this we can tell Renji was sent to earth for a long term mission and he defently isn't telling Ichgo the whole story something big must be going down if the have asigned a VC to Ichgo's area 24/7

Hello all,
I enjoyed the first half of ep64 because it reminded me of the goad ole days were even tho it was a serious show i was always grinning. I notice a large change in art, Ichigo is alot more toned and has a more sharp attitude tho not by a whole lot.
They had me tricked cuz i thought her brother had indeed turned good and way there to reassure her and then BAMM evil girl from hell lol
In some ways im dissapointed in the off topic story arc but at the same time i have been getting worried because the show is juuuust nipping the ass end of the manga and their either gonna hafta turn the anime episodes into 2 episode powerups like dragonball z or their going to overshoot the manga in notime!! So ill suffer with a few story arcs but ONLY if they dont suck... Plus i do want to learn a bit more about the nobal houses, arrancers/vizzards, uhara and his 2 'kids' that dont really seem to be his, and just generally fill in a few gaps cuz as all ppl that follow the manga know were all slightly confused at the moment...
Well thats my 2 cents, feel free to take a penny or leave a penny!! :argue:

You should have read my complete post: It doesn't make sense for him to run around in a Gigai in the first place. Shinigami only use them, when they have lost their powers/are wounded. Rukia didn't use one before she lost her powers to Ichigo, her replacement didn't use one, the same applies to Byakuya and Renji during their first visit.
So under normal circumstances he wouldn't need a replacement soul, because he wouldn't use a Gigai.
The question is: Why does he use a Gigai?
I can't tell you.
Go read the manga if you want to know

Well I agree with you. I was worried about that same thing. And I feel that is the biggest reason the anime producers felt they needed these arcs. I'd like to call them filler, but...filler seems to be something temporary, and I don't believe this is.
Here is my reasoning.
Total so far there are 65 episodes...64 if you count 65 as the beginning of the new arc. There are 210 manga volumes...180 if you only count to the end of the SS arc. That's just a bit under 3 mangas per anime episode. A new manga comes out every week, as does a new anime. The manga is only 30 volumes ahead of the anime right now...and going with my math...that's only 10 anime episdes. So ... in 10 weeks, the anime will have caught up to the manga where it is today. Add on 10 more manga volumes during that time, and the anime will get another 3 weeks of show...then it will bump into the manga.
I've never been very good at math...I'm more of a right brain type...but I don't want to see the anime end in a couple months. And I hate it, even though I think its necessary, when they take a 2 week hiatus like they did around christmas.
Well back to what I was rambling about. I don't really think they are 'fillers' persay, but yeah, they are filling in while the manga gets some distance. It would be nice for them to round out more of the other characters and even some of the shinigami. I agree Renji should have been introduced a bit later, but I think their market research showed that Renji is a popular character and popular characters always make a show 'popular' right?? riiight....
Anyway, I think these 'filler' eps might be around for longer then we might want/expect.
Has anyone else felt that on this show everyone has someone they could not attack/hurt/die for? For Gin its Matumoto, for Hitugaya its Hinamori, for Renji its Rukia and so on? Its usually someone from their past that the grew up with. I just thought it was interesting as I'm of the belief that in real life most everyone has someone like that too.
Oh well, just my thoughts, be that as they may...
