But because Hayate's only interest is how to pretend to be Nagi, she isn’t interested in the fights.

However, she knows that their asylum is 8 million yen in debt, and they are harassed by the collectors. She resolves her mind to take part in the fight. The participant gets 50 thousand yen if he wins a bout, and he gets 1 million yen if he goes to the next rank.

Because the participant must have his partner, Hayate asks Mudo Ayana to be her partner. Ayana is a good swordsman, but she doesn't take part in the fighting somehow. Damn it >.< I see, yeah it is :(

If there's a commercial then there is supposed to be an anime >.< when is the anime really begining?

Edit: I added that the commercial will be broadcasted on 30/1/2006 in the first post.

Apparently this commercial is promoting the manga volume 4 that will be released January 27th, but seeing the attention this manga is getting from the publisher (TV commercial, Drama CDs), there will probably be an anime-version too. We'll just have to wait for official announcement...

This series looks really cool. So the consensus is that the "anime" is just a commercial and that a real anime has not yet been announced? Too bad. I saw this on anidb and it looked promising.

Nice! I bought the first volume a while back but I didn't know the manga was sans-furigana. Now I can finally understand what they're saying!

Thanks for the scoop!

I got all of the mangas plus the most recent chapters, I think is chapter 31 since is a monthly manga. It's really funny but I just wish it was made into an anime....

Can someone confirm if the anime going to be made or not? because someone submit an ad for Hayade Cross Blade on Youtube.... And I heard a rumor over at Yamibo that the anime was in progress around March or something like that....so is it true they are thinking about making it? Please help, thanks.

The ad was just advertising the manga. There's nothing right now corroborating rumors of an anime series.

Yeah, its a manga for young men that has yuri in it :) (a seinen manga that has yuri in it).

Well, also Kashimashi ~Girl Meets Girl~ which is also a seinen manga, also got serialized in the same great seinen(young men's) magazine Dengeki Daioh.

Expect to see lots of yurilicious manga for young men from this male-oriented otaku magazine :)

Yeah I know I'm bumping a dead thread. But here's the news:

Seven Seas Acquires Two Yuri Manga, Two Yuri Novels
Seven Seas Entertainment has announced that it has licensed two yuri school manga titles: Hayate Cross Blade by Shizuru Hayashiya (Onegai Teacher, Strawberry Shake Sweet) and Akatsuki-iro no Senpuku Majo by Mera Hakamada (The Last Uniform). The company also announced two yuri novel titles: Girls Love and Girls Revolution.

Well, we prefer bumping old discussion threads instead of creating new ones :)

Since the anime didn't seem to exist, I've moved this thread into the Manga forum since the discussion here has primarilly been about the manga.

Just wanted to let everyone know that there are going to be three Hayate Cross Blade drama CDs (aside from the mini-drama CD that came with the Feb 2006 issue of Dengeki Daioh. Volumes 1 and 2 (http://www.fwinc.co.jp/hayate/cd.htm) are already out and are freaking hysterical (though the mini-drama CD is perhaps the funniest of them all) and Vol 3 (http://www.fwinc.co.jp/hayate/index.php) is due out on 18 January 2008. Why oh WHY will they not make this into an anime?!

Someone might want to edit the first post to note that Volumes 6 and 7 of the manga are already out and Vol 8 should be out sometime in 2008.

"Any day now" I keep telling myself... Too bad her other manga Strawberry Shake Sweet (http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=838) runs in another magazine; they could do back-to-back shows.

Anyways, while there's still no news on the official Seven Seas manga site (they're the English licensors), good old Amazon.com already has a listing for volume 1 (http://www.amazon.com/Hayate-X-Blade-Vol/dp/1934876003/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1199068501&sr=8-2), due out 07/08/2008. They have listings for the imported drama cds as well, but the prices are pretty high. At least now we've got the ISBN and can do pre-order shopping around...

For anyone interested in HxB, check out Ozaku's blog (http://okazu.blogspot.com/search/label/Hayate%20x%20Blade).

My suggestion is to go to Yesasia and not places like Amazon.co.jp or CDJapan (unless Yesasia for some reason is sold out, which is very rare). Their prices are scary high. I got all of my Drama CDs from YA at an excellent price and with free shipping :D

Well, it has been licensed by Seven Seas, and the first volume won't be out until November so you can say some are translated but not distributed yet. In short, it's hard to say. :heh:

You can read a preview found here:

http://gomanga.com/manga/hayatexblade.php

Now seriously, what does it take for the anime producers to even consider adapting this to an anime series? This title seems to be the type of title that can get on the level of popularity similar to Marimite or even Nanoha!

Has anyone else here read it? (Hayate X Blade)is a yuri/comedy manga, and its very entertaining! ^^

The yuri is pretty minor, and from the 3 books that have been released in English, I have yet to see any serious yuri. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes comedy, swords, or jumpy hyper-active girls.

Ha ha! That sounds cool. Doing all the Hayate crazy facial expressions might be the easy part - her massive ahoge might make the hairstyle hard to pull off...
