Episode 65 Screencaps and Long Summary (http://randomc.animeblogger.net/2006/01/24/bleach-65/)
-Inoue is gone along with everyone's memories of her (except for Ichigo, Renji, Ishida, and Sado).
-While investigating her home, Renji's cell phone rings with a girl on the other end. She sends the boys on a chase across town from phone to phone as a part of her game.
-However, that ends up leading our heroes nowhere. They get told to go back to Inoue's home at 8 that night.
-They see a flash of light from her window and go up to find Inoue back, but having no memories of anything from the past day.
-But as it turns out, it's not really Inoue. Instead, it's one of the new villains. The one wearing a hat is named Kurodo (Cloud?) and the girl is named Ririn (Lilin?). This time, they take away Sado.
Animation quality is overall going down, but the episode still has its good and bad times. I'm not sure how much I like this lets-kidnap-all-of-Ichigo's-friends plot, but hopefully they can make something more of it next week (instead of taking, say, Ishida). Kakazu Yumi is doing a good job playing Ririn though. Please do not discuss anything past episode 65, or else you risk a ban. Even tags are no defense.
Filler! Filler! Filler!
We have been waiting for it, so it has been delivered. The overall animation quality has dwindled as well. The BGM (background music) in one place of the episode was just plain ugly. I still wouldn't say it was a bad episode because Renji is continued to be funny while Ishida shows another usefullness of carrying a sewing kit.
Ichigo and the gang pays a visit to Inoue's place hoping they will pick up on a clue or two, but too bad they door gets in their way. What to do, what to do? Chad wants to flex his muscle and break in. "Wait", says Ishida. A fantastic BGM starts playing as Ishida takes out his sewing kit. He then proceeds to take out a needle, bends it horizontally, and starts to pick on the lock. Here, the hilarously inappropriate BGM dies as if it realizes Ishida is not going to do anything exciting. :heh:
There are other funny moments in the episode as well involving Renji. It's just that, for a Bleach episode, it felt long which is usually common in filler material. Next episode preview showed Kon, so it might be a fun episode.
The psychotic grin and eyes of the imposter Inoue are damn disturbing.:eyespin:
Not a Ten-Little-Indians plot pace!:uhoh:

I dunno guys, I like this arc quite a lot.
BTW, in before sticky:p
Oof, well, that's filler i suppose. The thing is, they're being clever about disgusing the episodes, so they always end up having some NON-filler parts. This has been true for the last episode too. So it's not something that can be considered as "it never happened." I guess it's a good thing to do that, but it means sitting through bad things =/. Anyway, i think it's important to keep comedy higher in fillers because there'll rarely be any chances for comedy in the non-filler episodes in the distant (possibly very distant) future.

I'm really confused here guys... how can you tell that it's a filler? It looks like just a normal episode to me. Am I missing something?

Yes, what is a filler. :D
A filler is one or more episodes which aren't in the manga.
I'm really confused here guys... how can you tell that it's a filler? It looks like just a normal episode to me. Am I missing something?
I think that's a rather good sign, then, considering you can't really tell the difference. Maybe the Bleach anime team isn't doing so bad after all, if they're producing "normal" episodes. It's just that after we read the manga, we might have different expectations of the anime, thus making it seem kind of boring. So again, if i hadn't read the manga, maybe i'd enjoy the filler episodes more.
So what you other "anime-only" watchers think? I'm pretty curious now... damn my preconceptions >_<.
Not bad actually. The episode got me interested in what might happen next. I don't think the animation quality has suffered much at all either.
Let's put it like this;
Basicly the outro of Bleach shows us that these guys are going to be a while with us. It also reveals surprisingly much about the ppl that are behind te kidnappings.
I'm not going to complain at this moment about the episode, sinds i haven't got the translated one yet. But judging from the previous episode it won't be as bad as Naruto. Rather than seeing big shot fights like the previous arc we can finally relax a littlebit from all those high-level fights.

black cat rejects! black cat rejects! XD
Well the highlight of this ep for me was chad in his news clothes. He looked really good in the the and white. Kubo should take a cue and never make him wear pink!
So what you other "anime-only" watchers think? I'm pretty curious now... damn my preconceptions >_<.
if i didnt visit these forums, i wouldnt even know that it was filler. it transitions beautifully.

Manga-nerds..lol....yeah they all do look kinda nerdy. But love for every1!
im loving the fillers, the team is doing a great job so far!
this is a great opportunity to flesh out the huge cast of bleach characters, who knows... if the manga goes far enough,it'd be possible for the anime team to actually do side stories that would correlate with the current manga arc in future episodes.
i.e. what other characters were doing prior to the current manga arc or concurrent to it.
Now now, boys and girls, I think we should call it "original story" instead of "filler" for now. Until it sucks.
Even NSW agrees.:D
And maybe it will help dispell some of the bad publicity around the f-word. Of course, if this original story sucks, I'm switching back to the f-word in a hurry.
And...
Please do not discuss anything past episode 64, or else you risk a ban. Even tags are no defense.
Dont you mean episode 65?
And as The Small One says, its an "original story", so unless someone were to foolishly talk about the manga, I dont see how the fil..."original story" can be spoiled.

And as The Small One says, its an "original story", so unless someone were to foolishly talk about the manga, I dont see how the fil..."original story" can be spoiled.Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if someone wanted to talk about the manga here, even though this story is original. I'll just keep the ban stick ready to hit people with if they are so foolish.

Meh, Im so sick of Lunar taking a decade to release a sub that I've switched to DB.
I'm really confused here guys... how can you tell that it's a filler? It looks like just a normal episode to me. Am I missing something? Wasn't there a single moment in the episode that felt like, "Hey, that's not how Kubo tells his story!" Even if I wasn't told for the umpteenth time that this arc will be err.. original, I would have picked up something is wrong when the little girl starts playing "Simon says" with the Ichigo and the gang. There are also other signs such as the downturn of the overall animation quality within one episode which could be interpreted as if the anime team is ready to delve into the hybernating mode to conserve their energy/yen until the anime is allowed to tackle the next manga arc. Also, how about some of the background music, or the character design of the villains, or the ending theme? Those are all fair clues to pick up the original-story vibe. And there is also the most important test that hasn't been given to the arc yet, which is when our heroes are ready to engage the enemy in a fight. A fight can almost always (99.99999999% of the time) determine if the story told is following a well known script or it is entirely... errr.. the original creation of the animators. As those who have followed some amount of shounen series should know very well that all their disliking for filler generated from the various discrepencies' surfacing in those filler arc, especially the fights i.e. inconsistency and even contradiction to the established personality/strength/temperament of a character, repetitiveness, redundancy, randomness, style difference as to how the story is told from the established storyline, and so on.
For me, it wasn't a bad episode but I've definitely picked up on the filler vibe when the girl still insist on playing the "Simon says" game in her 2nd phone call (repetitiveness). Anyway, the jury is still out on if Bleach's filler would indeed follow those of other lengthy shounen series.
P.S. Just to be clear, I am an anime-only watcher who has yet to read on one whole manga, so I don't think I can fall in with Bronwen's categorization of those evil manga-nerds who just are too spoiled to like change and the unknown. :heh: Good to see you back Bronwen!

I don't know this "Kubo" guy personally, so I don't know what he wants in an anime. And why does the "Simon says" thing matter? That's just how the character is. The animation quality didn't change at all from what I could tell, the background music was as cool as always, the villains were different(c'mon, do you actually want the same kind of villain all the time?:twitch: ), and the ending song is pretty catchy.
Like I said, it's just how the character is. Are you saying that there has to be a specific type of character for any anime to be "normal"? I fail to see the logic in that.

The progress is kinda slow? If anything, you should blame that on the 40+ episode Soul Society arc. Jeez, the excuses ppl come up with...
Seems this little extra arc would be a lot better if the pacing and writing weren't so painfully simple. To add insult to injury the new bgm.. well, it isn't horrible. But the arrangement is outright awful. It just seemed like there were so many awkward moments script-wise that it clogged up the entire flow of the episode. Even the voice actors (Whom I usually enjoy quite a bit in Bleach.) seemed a little out of place at times.
I wouldn't say episode 65 was bad. I'm not wild about the new arc's premise, but I don't dislike it either. It was just awkward. Of course, the running gag's were the best moments of the episode. (Inoue's simple flashbacks, Renji's freeloading, Ishida's freakishly dexterous use of sewing instruments.)
Lastly, I would've never thought Renji to be the studious type. I thought it was funny when he kind of gave Ichigo & company a :twitch: look when they just nonchalantly skipped class.

No, really. It was slow. Three boring running scenes. One would have been fine, but three was just a way to kill time. And somehow I felt like I was watching Die Hard 3. Urk, I hated that movie and now it has been recycled as a Bleach episode.
Much more like this and I'll have to describe this original story with the f-word.
Repeatedly running from location to location is the definition of filler - no progression, boring, interspersed with lots of static scenes - like western 80's cartoons (spiderman etc)
In fact I'm only upto 12 mins into the episode and I don't think I'll bother watching the rest of it. This is every bit as disapointing as the Naruto filler. It can't even be compared to the episodes earlier in the series which did have real humour in them.
Why didnt Renji goes back to SS.. Is it mandatory for him to stay in the real world while he was in charge of it? I didnt thinl that was the case with Rukia before ...
And why is he have to freeload at Uruhara's? Dont the higher ups at least have a place for their operative to work in real world .. at least where they can eat and such :eyebrow:
And so the 13 groups were converted to search group and dismissed ... what??? So there are definitely no problem whatsoever with SS would happen with Aizen gone... o_0. How nice.. If I have a grudge on SS.. this would be the time to attack them :uhoh: This is plain stupid IMO. assigning a few division as search group is understandable but ..... >.<
AAAAArrrghh.. so many thing to bash .. so lazy to type :frustrated:
I have a feeling that those new enemies (that three that is plushies in ED) are just another good comrades team that is controlled somehow by the guy from ED or they underlings of somebody that has to sarve that guy :D
and Renji being freeloader (never heard of gigaied shinigami having real home, Renji for some reason needs his gigai and it needs reacharging so Urahara's place is the best, and Afro guy didn't have gigai at all) and not going back isn't something strange (why he would leave his post when something is about to happen)
what i can only say is.... 'disappointing'... hopefully it will get better? :eyebrow:
^Still that doesnt explain it.. Surely if gigai is important ... then there should be one the provide it .. And uruhara is considered as a fugitive.. if all representative of SS came to get their stuff from him :eyebrow:

Hey, I think this & the previous ep is good. Although I do sense sth was amiss when I watched this ep, like sensing that this a filler ep like what monir said. maybe it was the drawing, not up to the quality, they looked different. (fyi, I dun read the manga).
Anyway, I still like this, gonna need to take some break from the serious plot. Love to see Ichigo in his real world & see how Renji is taking it all.
Should be thankful that you have sumthing to wac rather than nothing at all while waiting for the manga rite? So quit the whining bout 'fillers or not'. I'll rather wac & enjoy it while waiting for the manga, fillers or not...
I am an anime watcher only :eyebrow: But that doesnt mean I cant see the oddities here and there :frustrated:

Hope it wont be long for the real arc to come out though.
May those days be filled with good fillers...
I was hoping the fillers would go like FMP: Fumoffu :(
I actully am a fan of some of the BGM, espically episode 64, the music in the last scenes was perfect it was creepy and everything.
I noticed the animation was jumping around between normal and bad.
Somehow I get the feeling that the "search" squads will have something too do with this story, also Dracula, because he is in the credits.
They said a Year until Aizen comes back, if we follow DBZ time that means roughly 20-30 years of fillers.
Uh I did not like this "original story" episode, hope next will be better
^Still that doesnt explain it.. Surely if gigai is important ... then there should be one the provide it .. And uruhara is considered as a fugitive.. if all representative of SS came to get their stuff from him
and if SS gave Renji his gigai than it might explain why he has such weird clothes (or it was Urahara's joke if he made it for him, but I doubt it) and maybe in SS they fill up gigaies, but Renji would go there only for that reason when it'd be at its limits (more than a month) and Shinigami should return SS more often than that

-1 Year for Aizen to be a problem in SS, what's gonna happen before then? More Fillers?
-Yeah noticed it too, Video Quality went down.
-The shinigami cup at the end is funny lol
-The Episode Was ok, not really boring, but wasn't exciting, adrenaline-pumping like episode usually is.... It DID Feel long though!
-Music wasn't didn't very add much to the episode, like the suspense and shock each episode usually has

Well, as I stated in the previous episode thread, if that girl continues to laugh in that irritating fasion, I'll lose interest very quickly. And lo! She continues the irritating laugh. The simon says 'game' was disappointing to say the least.
And one other thing that really winds me up (particularly in a series with such a stupidly hard main character) is bad guys who 'can't be harmed' by the heroes. Man that's annoying. Ichigo is pretty much the most bad-ass character in the whole thing, yet these three miraculously have the ability to dematerialize at will and avoid any attack aimed at them, even by a vice-captain of Soul Society and a Captain level Ichigo. Interest draiing even faster...
The comedy moments were good though, and it's probably those that will keep me watching to some extent. That and:
Edit by Moderator: Spoilers are not allowed. Just because you read it in this forum instead of the manga, doesn't mean that it isn't a spoiler! I'm sparing you from ban just because you really are clueless.
LOL.. they degraded the captain level if they do include captains to fight the 3 KoF rejects :heh: Ichigo might have to be included because he is the main char (just like naruto) and if we to logicalized his involvement .. Chad and Inoue was his friend. Getting a Captain involved with these current 3 baddies arc is just :twitch:
The episode wasnt' bad. These episodes just came after the action packed SS arc so it would appear to be slow. It just take some time for the new story to develop, just like the current arc in the manga...the first few chapters of that wasn't too great either.
I remember people asking why Bleach was so slow and others telling them to keep watching until episode 15 or so before passing judgement. Its the same here. Arc is just starting so maybe the writers have their reasons for whatever you think may be bad. :)

I suppose it's difficult to beat something you know nothing about... however, the dematerializing trick those three are using just sets them up for infinite 'escapes' with no real battles. I really hope that's not going to be the case, but I'm retaining a healthly amount of skepticism on this subject.

Fillers really Mess up the story and lose the feel to the series :( i not looking forward to whatching the next episode as i used to be when they were accualy going with the manga.

i doubt it has anything to do with the show's producers "wanting to make extra money". The anime is VERY close to the manga, and they have to try to space it out a bit......
but still, i think they could have done a bit better with a filler story......it isnt too exciting so far....

I'm sorry but this anime have followed the manga almost exactly until now. They could have easily "fluff" parts of SoulSociety Arc and make it 15-20 episodes longer but they decided not to. Now the Anime is catching up to the Manga and something got to be done to create sufficient buffer once again. So aside from totally stopping the anime (which would be rediculus) they decide to write another arc.
you will not get the constant action of the past 40 or so episodes because its a new arc. I guarantee you that if the anime were to keep following the manga, there will be more than a few people posting that the first few episodes of the new manga arc is boring.
given that the anime have followed the manga so closely, I do not feel that they will mess up the story in any shape, way, or form...as they will eventually have the merge back with the manga's path. So if you do not like then stop watching and come back post new arc and there shouldn't be much that you 'missed'.

Even though this episode wasn't as good as the previous one I don't think we should go all emo and put the Bleach fillers in the same category as the Naruto fillers. My first thought when the episode ended was that i wanted to see the next episode, that must count for something, right?

I enjoyed this episode, felt like a sleezy detective movie. Like the one in animatrix to make an example. With the music, the sliding view of the characters and the overall atmosphere.
(I thought this episode felt short)
There was some fun scenes and Shinigamis Cup Golden still kicks ass. :D
Inoue´s eyes, even though it wasn´t Inoue, was freaky. Fake Inoue and Kaede got scary eyes.:upset:

That I do not hope, but if one can use Naruto as a reference how long will they´ve been using "original stories" when it´ll be over in April?
I hope there will be more high school comedy in Bleach than it´s now. I wouldn´t mind seeing Bleach go "Fumoffu" for a month or two.

I think people have been made excessively Cynical over filler after Narutos shitty filler bonanza, and thats why they are being overly critical on the Bleach Filler.
It was amusing, and it dosn't feel like a horrible story line. I'm really impressed by it, and found it incredibly entertaining.
WTF episode was that ?
Although I found the graphics were quite good (contrast and shapes), the action music was plain ridiculous.
And what about Ichigo's powers ? He achieved Bankai, kicked two captains' ass and now he's getting pwned by a 5 yo brat and two clowns ? Come on !
A year. Can't be real time :D
I would REALLY like to see some captains coming to the real world, like Ukitake or Shunsui... THAT could be nice filler.

I feel that episode 64 was much better. Everyone got back etc etc hilarity ensues. But this lates eps just felt bad.
Drop in quality and the slow dispense of action. I had hoped Bleach would not do this, but at least sofar its so much better than naruto. Lets hope it stays that way
*Edit*
i btw love the new ED. At least something good might come out of this. ;)

did anyone else feel that the animation quality of the episode felt poor compared to a regular eps.
Only every single person who has commented on it in this thread so far. I'm not going to count up all the complaints about animation quality over the last 3 pages, but it is quite a lot. Please take the time to at least glance at a thread before commenting on the episode.
Or at least try phrasing it as a statement instead of a question. That way we wouldn't know that you hadn't read what was already written about the terrible animation.

Wow, I go from watching Ichigo fight Eizen and Kenpachi to this...the Barnum and Bailey circus. Actually fight isn't even the right word there but whatever.
My complaints:
Why is there so much pointless and dumb humor when one of their friends is in danger and may die?
Why did Yoruichi and Sandal hat just stand there observing that ominous tornado above their house when they could have probably easily done something about it?
Why did they stop drawing faces on Ichigo at some points in the anime?
Why do I get the feeling Naruto filler is gonna be much better than this?

Oh, you know after listening to the new ED a couple of times... I really like it, it´s catchy. :heh:
I originally hated it.
BUT, its been stuck in my head all day after watching #65 this morning :D Not too bad :eyespin:
Just watched the episode (okok, I watched it yestaday:rolleyes: ).
Its was ok, story-wise. The only problem I have is the animation for Ichigo and Ishida.
Especially when Ichigo was angsting at the telephone booth at the supermarket. Thats was COMPLETELY not Ichigo-like. Even the voice for that part was weid.
For Ishida, there was a part(when he was lockpicking Inoue's house door I believe) where his faced was drawn really bad(like an old wrinkled man....bleh:twitch: ).
Just hope they dont show anymore "Un-Ichigo" animation or voice acting again...

P.S. Just to be clear, I am an anime-only watcher who has yet to read on one whole manga, so I don't think I can fall in with Bronwen's categorization of those evil manga-nerds who just are too spoiled to like change and the unknown. :heh: Good to see you back Bronwen!
XD Don't worry too much. I most definitely know you aren't one of those ebil manga-nerds. Mwhaha. I know who they are...most of them at least. @_@ Thanks! It is sorta good to be back...posting that is.
I really really like the ED though, it is so catchy. I really don't have a problem with the girl insisting on playing Simon says, Bleach villains never insisted to be normal villains IMO much less the main characters. Normal? Who?
I found it funny. Probably is just me. I'm not a hard critique or anything as long it's entertaining, plot holes are excused. It's easier to make a filler in Bleach than filler in Naruto, so the worst case scenario is that Bleach fillers goes down to the level of Naruto fillers but if it's safe to say, I'll just consider it a parody arc of a sort and leave it at that.

It actually maintained a serious tone well...it didn't manage the comedy+drama elements well, but that was the only real problem. Episode issues, not plot ones. Episode issues I can deal with.
Perhaps you didn't know, but Fumoffu was not an original story. Every single episode of FMP: Fumoffu was in the original novels. Perhaps that is why it was so enjoyable?
Or perhaps a year means a year of original stories?
Yeah I was just saying I was hoping it would be based around the school and just comedic (fumoffu is the funniest anime along with ES and PPP).
I was making a joke how time is repesented in anime, do you remember the freiza saga?
"Namek will explode in 5 minutes"
20 episodes later
"Namek will explode in 4 minutes"
50 episodes later
"Namek will explode is 5 minutes"
30 Episodes later
"namek will explode in 5 seconds"
150 episodes later
"namek will explode in 1 second"
535 episodes later
"Goku has finally made it off namek"
I for one enjoyed the episode. It is understadable that the animation will not be so thoroughly done like the previous episodes. We all knew it would happen but the question was to what extent it would happen. I am satisfied with how it turned out, it is better then what i expected. As long as the episodes do not end up being repetative like the Naruto episodes, I will keep on watching. The one problem I have is it feels like they are rushing to get everything into one episode. This is at the filler stage so maybe they should take there time a tad.
Also another thing I am worried about is the fights up ahead. Ichigo has raise to captain strength, fair enough. I just hope they do not screw it up and either make him too strong, over do certain things (such as hollow) or make him too weak. I am looking forward to next episode.
As for this episode it was fine. Kinda got annoying with the running around which turned out fine at the last time. I do not really know what to say about the episode. The initial plan has yet to be revealed and probably will show itself in probably two episodes.

Wow, seriously...
I don't get you guys. You claim that the animation is SO horrible. I've seriously sat through the ep 4 times and studied every screenshot I could find, and I haven't noticed ANY difference in animation from previous episodes.
There's no reason to change animation style for the worst, or anything for that matter, just because it's an anime-only episode. Any one of you could pick apart any previous episode JUST LIKE THIS, as there is NO DIFFERENCE in animation quality. Simply put, ALL OF YOU ARE PARANOID.

I thought the animation quality was just a bit quirky at times, but nothing to really complain about (nothing like what happened with Mai Otome's ep 15.. those who follow that one should know about it).
I personally liked the episode a lot. Lots of quirky fun little moments and the enemies are mysterious enough.
At the very least, it seems like there's many more dimensions to Bleach's universe than just Hell, living world and Soul Society.

As for the animation, it isn't a big difference, but it is clearly being done by the B-animators. It is only a small difference, they aren't totally dropping the ball on this. Though, listening to us talk about the inferior animation while it all looks the same to you, must make you feel like you're taking crazy pills, huh?
I'm very much pleased with the improvements set in the soundtrack for this filler arc.
However, I'm offset with how they dealt Cloud's presentation.
In one shot the black tornado descends over Inoue's house, then the next the imposter Inoue strangles Chad.
Either rushed without warning that part or the animators ran out of frame shooting sequences.
The imposter Inoue is right besides Chad in the first frame, the second frame closes up on Ichigo's face sideways, and then third time has the imposter Inoue attacking without previous warning.
That felt like montages of video collage pasted together in series of still frames.

As for the episode itself I was kind of disappointed Chad, who is somewhat close to a VC got captured. Renji and Ichigo who achieved Bankai can't attack them because they disappear. It's atleast better than Naruto, so I am happy.

It's about time that I download that episode, what reminds me I even didn't download the last episode. :D
I really didn't see a big drop in animation quality but maybe I don't have an eye for detail as some do..
It wasn't the best episode ever but atleast there wasnt some "BHUAHAHAHA" guy in it.. :heh: As several other people have stated, the "Simon says" scene was boring and pointless. Atleast in Die Hard 3 they had to solve riddles and disarm bombs at the pay phones. Has the feeling that they threw it in there to kill 10 minutes. A few of the dialogue scenes seemed poorly written, but nothing too horrible. What was with the crew telling Ichigo to calm down like 4 times... is this the first time they met Ichigo? Since when does he calm down?
The "bad guys" don't seem all that bad.. the only attack they have done so far was choking Chad and throwing people into the gate thing. Is the little girl, Rin Rin I think, the leader; seems she did most of the talking in that episode. Also, I can see how Inoue was captured, she was tricked by someone who she thought was her dead brother; Chad, though, kind of went a bit too easily. Hopefully this is all building to a good story.
Don't mind me.. I don't mean to sound as if I'm complaining, just talking about some of the things I felt about the episode.

I'm rather intrigued by the fact that Chad and Orihime entered a gate that has a notable resemblence to the Gate of Hell. Despite that resemblance, it is clearly different. I'm wondering what the relationship is. Perhaps there are different hells? Since (as has been repeatedly pointed out) there is some resemblance between the buddhist system of afterlife and Tite-sensei's afterlife in Bleach, there might be more than one hell. Perhaps the gates to different hells look different.
Perhaps the gates to different hells look different.
Oh no Chad and Orihime have been sent to FILLER HELL:heh:
Ok it does seem to have been given to the B team for animation, but all in all it's not that bad and if i remember the SS arc had a few B team eps too while the the A team was working on major eps and I have heard that there is a hour ep comeing up soon so I'm not too worried.
Story wise not bad but not realy good either kinda soso. They seem to be going for mystery in this arc and so far it's not too bad. Over use of running shots to pad the ep and there were a few logical issues with the ep first if Renji was out of his gigia then why didn't he go through the wall and open the door. If he couldn't open the door because he is in his sprit form then how could he raid the fridge?
About the breifing at the start DB's subbing set that they have till next year before Azien is likely to be ready. Given it should be September Azein could be ready in as little as 4 months or sooner if he started the prepwork before he got the gem.
talk about a waste of time..

Can't Ichigo Woop these guys so easily though? He Reached Ban-kai already!
And Renji!
That's obviously impossible. If the bakai was released in the suburb areas, the normal people will get suffered/injured.But one thing suprised me was , that little girl could move faster than Ichigo!
Ichigo could move as fast as Byakuya . And now that annoying girl could move as fast as Ichigo.Quite confusing in there.

To be precised, Ichigo got pwned by the girl's one finger.
Which makes me question how weak Ichigo is....one moment he was on par(nearly) with a captain, and now hes nerfed till not even being able to land a hit on the "original" baddies?:eyebrow:
And by landing a hit, I dont mean slicing the opponent. Even if the enemy blocked the hit, it would be reasonable. But to be able to dodge Ichigo so easily? Bankai or no Bankai, thats abit too ridiculous.

LOL that pictures hella funny!:D
Just finished watching this episode and felt neutral about it. Didn't really dislike it, though didn't really like it. Animation looks rushed as hell, reminded me of flash from newgrounds, but they're fillers so what can we do? I wished they coulda solved riddles instead of running around to make in it time. Also I thought the Bleach characters made the funniest faces this episode.
I got to agree with Sirch, It remind me Die Hard ! And got to say that is also true that it has a lot of funny face in this eps. I couldnt tell if i like it or not the epz... But a got this feeling that nothing happen, execpt. Chad taken away... Oh! Well!
Since someone made remarks about that gate where both Inoue and Chad got sucked in, my guess could be it is the Gate of Purgatory.
But that won't make much sense either, because Renji commented that no living people are dragged into the Hell Gate. Therefore, the same goes if that other gate is of Purgatory.
I guess is another gate that leads into another dimension.
Twilight Zone.... ?:eyespin:
And remember what Captain Kyouraku said about 'that last incident happening' at the start of the episode?
Who or what might be referring to?
Ok so I saw the episode and I gotta say
it wasn't really that great or that bad either
just in ok episode
and yea the shinigami cup at the end was funny
and also they said that it will be 1 year before Aizen becomes a problem
so I'm guessing that the filler arc will last about 50 episodes for the year
since we are in January of 06

Where do you get the logic that the CHARACTERS IN THE ANIME would refer to a year OUT of the anime? It'd be like Shunsui saying "Well, we better sit tight for around 50 or so episodes, Ukitake."
I don't think it'll be a whole year...
I believe they meant Bleach(anime) year. Hell, they might even do a timeskip of what, 6 months? like the 3 years in Naruto.

Eh, from what I recall, aren't high level shinigami (like captains and VC) who come to the material realm heavily handicapped so that their reiatsu doesn't cause a huge disturbance and the like? Maybe that's the case with Ichigo appearing weaker after he left SS. Those villains may not have that kind of power restrictions on Earth, so they appear more powerful. Just a thought.
Overall, I liked the episode, I don't mind slow paced anime, as long as it doesn't turn like DB fillers :p I thought the running parts were nice, just cause the third running seems hilarious to me when Ururu and Jinta looked around and Ichigo and gang made an earthquake-like ruckus cause they were running their asses off, it was funny. And it had funny moments all over the episode, but was pretty serious, too. Although I'm an anime-only watcher, the drawing quality seems B-level, compared to SOME SS arc episodes, but even in SS arc, there were episodes that looked just like this one in terms of drawing, so I don't mind, the SS arc wasn't THAT perfect in that aspect.
Didn't notice anything else, I saw the episode once, liked it, and that's it. :p I don't usually bother rewatching episodes.
The Bleach filler arc just might be round 50 or so episodes
because the Naruto filler arc episode started round may of 05
and it will be done round april of 06
now that's about 12 months to air about 50 episodes

Exactly.
I was just thinking ichigo could just go bankai on their asses and get to them before they vanish. BUT there was that comment about high level shinigami being severly restricted.
The previous reply to your post was serving to show you how other people could tell this episode might have been a filler even if they didn't know ahead of time. I think I did that. I don't want to argue with you for the sake of arguing, so I'll try to keep it short.
You don't need to know Kubo Tite personally other than knowing he is da shiznat. There is no Bleach without him because he is the author. The animators started by copying and pasting each of those pages Kubo drew and then they (animators) took it from there.
The overall animation was off in this episode. The overall animation is consist of drawing (that goes with character design and background), animated motion (fps - frame per second | more the merrier), camera action of those moving frames, voice acting, music, story, and a lot more things. The animation or animated motion is just one part of the overall package. You can always compare episode 64 with 65 to see if there was any lacking in the animation department by counting fps with a Virtualdub.
Like I said, it's just how the character is. Are you saying that there has to be a specific type of character for any anime to be "normal"? No. Of course not! Haven't you ever read a book of a known author that somehow felt different and then you go back to check the name in the front page just to find out that this was an adapted novel of that known author by a different author? The sense of normalcy is portrayed by an author. If anything is out of sync of the established normalcy by that author, then it is very easy to pick up as such was the case with episode 65 while episode 64 was pretty good in the overall animation aside from Inoue's looking a bit muscular in one angle.
I wasn't wanting to categorize anyone in the first place. I was just making a point that there's nothing wrong with this episode. It's your opinion that there is nothing wrong with this episode and after reading some of your other replies to other fans, I see you are stubbornly sticking by your opinion. This is far from being a whine thread and folks don't write l33t either to say, z00mg f1ll3r sux0rz!! They are pretty much saying what they saw in the episode in the usual manner. Regardless of those opinions, it shouldn't matter to you of how other opinions go as long as you like it. That's all that matters.
Agreed. Btw, I love this ending song too. Despite Bleach's great opening themes I always had to get used to the ending themes, but not this one. I loved it from the beginning of its abrupt start. Those dancing figures are hypnotic. Look at her go in my sig! :heh:
Another detail that escaped me to mention in my previous post, and I guess it escaped everybody else's attention is Renji able to eat without being inside his gigai.
The guys are at Inoue's house, and Renji takes some snacks and drinks from a milk carton. How's possible for him to do that if being Shinigami also means being spiritual in the human world?
Vice captains and captains are restricted... they have some sort of "restricter" on them that cuts down their power to 1/5th.
Ichigo on the other hand is not restricted. I don't think you can call him weak though. He has no idea on those new opponents powers. Just like in Soul Society he always get's beat down by the opponents tricks before he can effectively counter them.
Her being able to "teleport" to melee and poke him is also nothing new... Ishida could do it, and so can the captains and vice captains. It's just to show they are not your nameless hollows getting a lucky break.
The quality or rather the way we are used to have things animated was a tiny bit off.. but not a big deal.
So take it easy with the fillers. It's not like they cought up to the manga yet (it's like 40 episodes ahead) so a few fillers and perhaps are few more during the main arc and they can have a 2nd season before they catch up to the manga.
I thought the episode was fine... the change from soul society was needed anyways and the year "break" makes a lot of sense. I'm sure there will be plenty that could happen in and out of soul society before the manga picks off.
Tie up momo's story, replacements for the missing captains, the shiba family's future (will they work things out with SS), the mad scientist and his daughter.. perhaps there will be some drama as well.. who knows... lots to fill in for us if you ask me...

I'm not "stubbornly" sticking by my opinion... I truely don't see anything particularly bad about the episode. And yes, everyone else's opinion does matter to me, because I want to come to this message board and discuss things normally, not sit here and listen to ppl's gripes because they're paranoid of "filler" episodes.
Anyway, I might want to take back what I said about this story being a "transition" arc, because......something tells me that those "bad guys" aren't really so bad, and they might even be doing those things to get our hero's attention somehow... maybe trying to get their help, but can't ask for it normally? That'd take more than just a few episodes, if the true enemy is pretty powerful.
And in any case, with all of the blending of some manga elements I've been hearing about, maybe the villains of the next(non-filler) arc will come in and kill the filler characters(dunno who the next villains are, though I'm guessing that there are going to be more villains). That'd neatly erase the filler characters from continuity, or whatever you guys would suspect, and tie neatly with the next arc.Just speculations tho.

I thought i was going to hate this arc since were in for a long agonzing weeks of fillers but i have to say iv liked the past 2 i have noticed the animation quatlity has gone down but not enough for me to scream bloody murder yet i just hope it doesnt end up like naruto....i will say in this ep we heard that little girls voice for the first time and im already praying for her death i find her pointless and very annoying but thats just my opinion

People going insane and it's just the second episode of the new arc...dissapointing indeed...Whenever a new arc starts (a new anime for that matter) it always takes 3, 4 maybe even 5 episodes to get to the meat of the story...It's merely setting up events (in-addition setting up the intrigue and the atmosphere of the arc)...Am I bowing down at this episode? No...But do i understand that the necessary evil of a new arc is to set the damn new arc up? Yes...sheeesh...
This episode was niether bad nor remarkably amazing...it was a good set-up episode for things to come...I rather enjoy the interaction between Renji and the main characters (I guess Renji has become that character that for some reason the director really likes...Not only is he still alive after so much Pwnage, he's actuallly in the main-cast now)...The scenerio kinda reminded me of Die Hard 3 with Bruce Willis and Sam L. Jackson running from phone-booth to phone-booth trying to answer riddles...I kinda enjoyed it...The only thing that will dissapoint me is if the production quality drops below this episode...Because it's straddling the line in parts of this episode (really just the part when they were all running)...But other than that I find the villians mysterious enuff to give them a chance to develop (especially Nova who drops down and cooly says "Nice to meet you" ) and am looking forward to the boss whose controlling this all...So since this is the new arc, and I'm watching the new arc...I might as well give the new arc a chance before I go all chernobyl on the new arc...
Yeah, I got the same impression with both scenes... they both just seemed awkward. The second time i watched the episode i noticed the placement of Ishida's hand and got a bit of a laugh out of it..

Chad might be stronger when he summons the ARM. (I hope you know what I mean because I can't think of a better way to describe it without getting verbose.)

After seeing this episode have to say : it sucked. I have a bad feeling that bleach is heading the same direction as Naruto, random episodes with no relevance to main story line, in other words fillers.

Man, you put so much thought into that post  ...
Oh well, at least it wasn't spam like this one and yours.
Chad might be stronger when he summons the ARM. (I hope you know what I mean because I can't think of a better way to describe it without getting verbose.) As I was looking at the picture above in a new light, the suggestion to Chad's summoning his ARM just sounded so wrong.:heh::D Ok, it's entirely Bronwen's fault for suggesting things at the first place. Ishida looks so serious. :heh:

You know, now that you've pointed that out I think Chad and Ishida are trying to "do something" while Renji watches in fascination. Utter fascination. :D

Oh dear, I didn't realize the implications of Chad summoning his 'arm'. :heh: And oh HEY! Not my fault! Blame Sirch for pointing it out. I was innocent until it became obvious the suggestion the picture is showing.

I'm glad you're giving it a chance (among other people), people are so anal nowadays it's hard not to follow the mood. But yeah, my interests is piqued concerning the villains. It would be even more interesting how the suggestion that there was more than one 'hell' or dimension or even possibly and society that exists as an anomaly to the Shinigami/Hollows/Humans...and then Ichigo and the rest of the cast + new villains make an arc that makes the arc as entertaining as the first 15 episodes. XDD

Oh, sure.. blame meee. I'd blame the animators for making such a homo-erotic scene lol. jk
Ah well, did anyone else get annoyed with the amount of times they told Ichigo to calm down in that episode though?

im assuming either ishida or renji will go next episode... any ideas?
by the way does the new ending remind anyone of school rumble's ending? for some inexplicable reason it does for me. the new ending's awesome.

it wasnt bad. not as good as last week though. but its just getting started so people should really lay off of it. the animation is fine too. people are acting as if its absolutely horrible.
Well, it's not as bad as Naruto's filler. Yet, anyway. The story itself could turn out tolerably, but the art quality has taken a nose dive. There were many instances this episode where some of the characters' faces just looked ridiculous, like Ichigo at 9:07 and a close-up of Ishida that I can't find again). The anime team also seems to be showing off all the new tracks they've acquired, some of which are pretty good(the piano tracks in 64), and some of which make me want to puke (pretty much all the super hyper-active ones, like Ichigo and Renji racing down the street, UGH). 64 was alright, this episode was a step down in quality, but it's not too late for them to correct it I guess. I already stopped watching Naruto because of the filler crap so I hope Bleach doesn't go the same direction.
P.S. DB's translation was really bad this time as well. A lot of times you can tell they just completeley made up the line even though it's fairly obvious what's being said.

Yeah. the animation was really horrid, especially the faces. I usually don't notice the art in terms of weather or not they are supposed to look the same in every scene, but this time i did cause it was so badly drawn.

Actually thought it was great. Cuz Ichigo and the gang all know that, Ichigo is extremely powerful but he still needs to know how to control it, not just go brute strength all the time, remember? :eyespin:

Yeah but realize that it's Ishida that's telling Ichigo to calm down...
Didn't Ishida tell Ichigo something abt one is death god the other is quincy and they would meet as enemies kinda thing?
So i'm still kinda wondering why Ishida actually followed not just Ichigo but also Renji who are death gods....
