Tousen's new look
The fight stopped
Tousen tells Grimjaw he broke the code
orhime healing hitsu, hitsu has fatal injury
I knew it, he would lure grimmjow back. Im dissapointed when such a good beatdown was about to happen. Why does tousen look like the dude from star trek? I like his original look better.

Damn. Tousen IS harder than Grimjoww, at least from the third pic. I wonder how Ichigo learns to fly, as judging from this, he'll need to... Thanks, weiwei.
Edit; When did Rangiku go get Rukia? And who's going to heal her? And by fatal, do they mean Orihime can't heal it? Arrgh, I need to learn to read Japanese...

Heh. Stole the words right out of my mouth.
Agreed on both accounts.
Hopefully this would mean that all the petty feeling-out action would stop and maybe the real fighting will begin. Or maybe Aizen and crew will constantly tease Ichigo and gang for 20+ chapters until they start fighting..

Shinigami can ride on spiritons. I guess after she shouted to orihime to heal hitsugaya. I guess the only option would be uraharas shop or somebody else(?).

What im thinking is unless aizen lets the people go and gj got in trouble for stealing the cookies from the cookie jar, We wont see any 11-20 action but screw them. Those vastroode are the stuff. I feel this arc (if its over) was a little dissapointing. The 3 things we havent seen in awhile, the vizards (perfect time to train ichigo and maybe you have a chance with a vastroode!), isshins deal with being a captain, and ishidas training. Man that would be so awesome if they come back and more arguing with new arrancar faces especially that chick. Shes hawt <3.
There is also the issue with Ichigo's friends, will they stay the same, or use some kind of power-ups?
and Ichigo never finished his talk with his little sister...
if Hitsugaya dies now it'll be what everybody wanted? kill off one of the coolest characters? heard u complaining all the time, but if it'd be Hitsugaya instead of Ikkaku I can image ur yapping :P
we must see what's chad do after Ichigo broke up with him :D
I don't think that Orihime can fix up all of those shinigamies, but Renji looks fine
Thousen is lame but his outfit is nice... if Thousen can beat GrimJaw now that means that there'll be stronger ones when Ichigo go on a fighing trip or/and all already existing Arrancars will be stronger :D
Since Ikkaku's friend contacted Soul Society and told them about funeral stuff, it is possible that they might send medic-Shinigamis, after learning the situation they were in.
And there is also Urahara-group. This is a good time to show himself by helping those injured Shinigamis, at least Renji who was close to their shop.
Considering the powers of those little guys from Urahara's shop, can Urahara prepare something to make Ichigo's friends a lot stronger? At the end, he was the person to create something that can significantly improve powers.
By the way did they show the number of the first Espada (I don't remember his name) that appeared first to observe Ichigo?
urahara > tousen or any other top10 arancars you bring along with hehe.. but thats coming from an assumption that he used hougyoku for himself way before

DAMN YOU TOUSEN!!! Just when the fight was just about to get started....:frustrated: With the new attire, could tousen already be a hybrid?
I hope I'll get used to Geordi la Tousen in time. I mean the coat and stuff is all right, but that eye thing looks weird.
Well, a lame draw back is always better than seeing the main character plot shield abilities taking over the fight.
And I am very disappointed with Hitsugaya. I always thought he was strong, and look where he is now. First he gets powned by Aizen giving the impression his Bankai was crap, and now we get prove it is. And as if that wouldn't be enough he explains how he and the rest of the gang only won by luck.
I just hope the side characters get a better development, and I want to see losses on both sides.
One of this weeks manga highlights tough.
By the way did they show the number of the first Espada (I don't remember his name) that appeared first to observe Ichigo?
Aquila? Or something like that.....I believe he isn't a number since Aizen said to show what he learnt to the other 20, I think Aizen only sent him out because of his unique ability.

It's Ulquiorra, and not yet. As he seems so much more powerful than Yami, and able to deflect a blast from Urahara, I'm giving him honourary espada status. But he might not be - we haven't seen a number yet.
Ulq was giving the impression that only Hollow Ichigo would be a match. I mean, he didnt seem scared. He did say surpassed, but he didnt make it sound like he would be straight trashed. He made it seem only Hollow Ichy could put a scratch on him ..

Momo in snow...
Looking forward to the scanlations.
if u compare the way ichigo and wchigo use their bankai or soul slayer, in the episode where ichigo went to his inner world.... we already saw ichigo and wchigo have a big gap in terms of sword fighting, intelligence, spritial force... and we have never see tensa zangetsu's true ability yet. However, we know what kind of wchigo's character is, he is an avenger who seeks more power and loves killing like ken-chan... so r u saying this kind of guy is weak? i dun think so... and like i said we dun know what kind of power Wchigo really possess, and you assume that espada is stronger than him? Seriously, all we see Wchigo right now is Wchigo vs ichigo, Wchigo vs Byakuya... and those two battle, wchigo didn't even get serious, he is just always say ichigo is pathetic, and does know how to use his sword... however the way we see it and we know from wchigo, he is stronger than espada or else he wouldn't be a perfect hybrid
yeah, im also very disappointed with hitsugaya and the way kubo presented his bankai. This is the second time hyourinmarou was called out and we have still yet to know his full capabilities... I mean yeah, apart from the obvious effect of making everything "ice"( which doesn't seem to work anyway other than to low levels ), there really isn't much to know about hitsu's bankai. It was never explained what those wings' purpose for or the tail, or the very reason as to why hitsugaya seems to turn into a dragon etc...
I don't think Hitsugayas "weak" bankai is a problem. Kubo loves to make his pet characters bleed like mad. Hitsugaya will live and improve himself.
As for his Bankkai... it looks cool, like Renji's bankai looks cool. Other then that it gives him the ability to fly. I would not worry too much that he does not have anything super special going on with his bankai. Perhaps he has yet to master it completely. He is after all a very young captain.

Flight isn't what I would call a unique ability, as most powerful people seem to do fine without even releasing their zanpaktu - the arrancars, Hiroko, Tousen - so it's not special.

It stuns me that people are complaining about Hitsuguya's bankai when they have far more rubbish bankai like Ikkaku's to whine about.
I mean, at least Shirou-chan's bankai doesn't BREAK HIS SPINE. ;)

Ikkakus bankai is not rubbish. It gets stronger every attack and we dont know the abilities of it excluding the dye of the dragon crest. I wouldnt make hasty decisions until we see more of him.

Serioulsy
Do not doubt the power of Baldy-san. He has to have one hell of a Ban kai.
And he IS in 11th squad afterall, and everyone but 5th seat [ I don't want to remember his name, Mr.Beautiful Bishonen  ] have direct attack type Zanpakuto, So no fancy ice dragons or brain washing Zanpakuto there. :p
slightly off topic guys... anyway...
Tousen looks cooler now i think. and how powerful do you think Tousen is compared to Grimmjaw? cant be that much difference...

Well dreadlocks are bound to double ones power, and cool new shades probably increases it 30% over that.

don't forget new hair style must give him at least +20% so he's now 3x strongar than Yamamoto
False. Its been proven that he will never attain full power without smashing his goggles and slickin his hair back with demon arts like Aizen.
Evidence: Renji lost his goggles after he attained Bankai. When his hair loosened was when he showed us his Shikai's second ability. The Baboon claw thing.
Point: As long as he has goggles, he is still trash. Period. Cant wait till he smashes it and slicks his hair back ^_^

is it me, or does it seem like there's a huge inflation in power now :(. It's like DBZ, everyone just gets more and more power as more enemies have more power. I'm disappointed at the simplicity of the fighting.
or maybe Thousen lost with Ken-chan on purpouse and came to state when near death so he lost his bankai... maybe he even thought that he can't hit Ken-chan because he knew we were watching his thoughts :eyespin: maybe Aizen told him to do so
can't wait when Nanao-chan will break her glasses and turn badass :D
do we realy know that Thousen is stronger than GrimJaw? isn't he just like messanger of whole Hollow and Aizen corp?

I'm disappointed at the simplicity of the fighting. But, the power-ups that we have observed are, if I am not mistaken, mentioned before. This is the maximum level those guys can reach.
If those Arrankars increase their power levels, then it will become problematic (more DBZ like) - if they create new Arrankars with higher power levels that is fine, but not giving higher power to the ones that are already there.
Also, the power-increase for Ichigo should be evaluated separately because of his hollow side (he is not bound to typical power-ups). Even as a shinigami, he was somewhat special.

Now how is it like DBZ just because they increase their spirit power? Isn't that one of the basic functions of spirit energy, or am I missing some thing and it supposed to be exclusive to DBZ...?

I like to think that, Ichigo has had pretty much the same power from the begining.
he is just learning to better use and focus it. Like look back at the beggining, he had the power to push back a friggen Menos Grande, But he didn't have the skill to control that power...and would have 'sploded if it wasn't for Uryuu.
I think his Bankai is just a means to further focus his power by compressing it, which I think is symbolized by his bankais small size.
In all reality, while his level of spirit power may increase marginally, I think this is all, for the most part, power he has had all along and just better using it. Like capping a burst hydrant, and focusing it through a small nozzel, getting more force and strength from the stream of water.
Now how is it like DBZ just because they increase their spirit power? Isn't that one of the basic functions of spirit energy, or am I missing some thing and it supposed to be exclusive to DBZ...? I believe after reaching your highest point using bankai etc., what you can do are limited to what you already have. You can make some modifications to what you are using. You can learn some special techniques. But, the power level you have reached should not change much. I believe that is one of the reasons why Aizen wanted to obtain Hougyoku (I might be mistaken about the name), to go beyond his limit.
We have observed some kind of limit removal for the captains. If in the future, we see them double that power in a very short time, that would make a DBZ kind of power-up. The same thing is valid for Arankars. Unless they make some exterior modifications to themselves, under normal conditions, the power level they have reached should not change much.
For instance, I don't think under normal conditions, Urahara or Yoruichi should be able to multiply their power levels.

This don't answer my question... how is continuous progression DBZish at all, just because DBZ character have done it? It's like saying that Bleach is Rurouni Kenshin-ish or Samurai Deeper Kyo-ish just because they have samurai-style characters.
I... just don't see the logic in it:confused:

The limit removal is not exactly a limit removal, Their spiritual power is sealed when they leave Soul Society so not to influence the world. When they remove that seal they return to the strength they were in soul society.
Remember how Ichigo's overflowing spiritual power influenced Chad and Inoue and lead to the birth of their own unique powers?
Thats what soul society tries to prevent by having captains just roaming around in the human world with their full power.
Thats what I believe, atleast.

I... just don't see the logic in it:confused: Even if we assume there might be continuous progression (although I still believe there should be some limit), if they can achieve this power-up in a short amount of time, it becomes what we are talking about (DBZish). These shinigamis live a long life, so, I expect the progression rate to be low and the improvements to be slow - other than some break point - as in Bankai. If I am not mistaken, the fastest power ups that we have observed, other than Ichigo, are related to Bankais. And, we haven't heard any other possible level under normal conditions.
If those captain level shinigamis go, train and multiply their power in a very short time - without using something like Hougyoku or borrowing some hollow power, it becomes highly unrealistic for me (and that's where the connection to DB comes from).

That's all true, but you have to factor in that Ichigo got trained by powerful Shinigami with the best of the best training methods... the power just didn't come out of nowhere(like, say, in the 1st Brolly movie). I'm sure other Shinigami couldn't say the same.

It is generally the case that you have some potential (or let's say dormant power) and with training you try to reach that potential or increase the amount of power that you can use. This potential also represents the limit that you can reach.
Ichigo was trained to reach his limit in a very short time. But, still, as a shiginami, he has a single destination. By taking risks, he ran to that destination as fast as he can. He had talent for that. It may not be the same for any other Shinigami. But, still, there should be a single destination for any shinigami. You should not select another destination once you reach your initial destination.
Bleach, for me, at this time, is not DBZish. Unless those shinigamis go and increase their power level significantly by continuing to stay as a shinigami (no borrowing hollow powers), my views will not change.

Ichigo isn't a normal Shinigami though. Don't forget his Hollow side...
Ichigo isn't a normal Shinigami though. Don't forget his Hollow side... Yep, that's why I said, as a Shinigami (not as hollow-shinigami hybrid). Even as a Shinigami I don't think he has reached his limit yet. He didn't have enough time to train in detail. And I believe he still has a lot of things to learn regarding his zanpaktou.
man, what a huge gap that is, an espada against a normal arrankaru.. grimmjaw took on tensa zangetsu's getsuga tenshou and only left with that shallow wound?!!
looks like we've got an idea on how the arrankarus are, the next few chapters are pivotal imo..the aftermath of the first raid.. wonder what's gonna happen

The first raid, which pissed Aizen off because Grimjaw acted on his own apparently, and lost several of his brothers in the proccess..
Bleach isn't DBZish yet, as nobody didn't increased his power after he went max (except for Ichigo, and Renji that learnt Bankai), but if somebody shows his Bankai than it's your limit :D (but you can learn few kidouh and try to combine them with your fighting skills like Byakuya) and if somebody goes Hybrid than he might get stronger a little, as we know there past already few months after SS arc
and GrimJaw was cut by tensa zangetsu's getsuga tenshou but as I remember Wichigo used it many times just to distract Byakuya's atention :D (and this one hit nearly finished him off - 1/5 hp down)
Ichigo has still much to grow in his Shinigami terms and than he needs to take something from his hollow side (like a hella lot of reiatsu)
Hisoka??

well i would just say that if you look at the hybrid as a type of super saiyan transformation...............
hmm or what about being shinigami is saiyan, shikai is super saiyan and bankai is ss2??
and ofcourse we have ss3/4 thats the hybrid and not many pple can reach :heh:
anyway on top... i want ishida to come back!!! bet he willl be incredibly strong from his training
