Hazumu and Yasuna are members of DEVO.
An overall nice and solid episode, although I was expecting Tomari to have more screen time since it's "Girl Triangle." The last part was done pretty well, in my opinion, as it firmly establishes the triangle. However, do Tomari's last lines to Yasuna embody an actual declaration of war, or just more of her snide commenting like in one of the previous episodes?
Ayuki does give Tomari some very good advice which I would hope she would take:
You have only two paths to take, to get onto the stage or to get off the stage.
It seems that being untrue to her own feelings and/or doubtful is Tomari's character flaw, though. Compare this to Yasuna, who manages to blurt out her feelings even unintentionally. It is kind of amusing, considering Yasuna has a mild, outward personality whereas Tomari has a very rough, bold outward personality.

The public nature of the poll gave me pause up until now, but this episode was so good (for romance-lovers like me) that I was going to call it excellent (nothing's perfect) even if you hadn' made the names private.
All three of the main voice actors are outstanding: Horie Yui (Yasuna), Tamura Yukari (Tomari), and Ueda Kana (Hazumu) -- maybe in that order. My heart filled several times and broke twice. And I finally noticed that the spaceman is played by Shuuji from Honey & Clover (Fujiwara Keiji (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=949)).
Some slight changes from the manga seem to be improvements, as before (except for the one scene in the shop). And the way some of the emotional scenes were handled gave me respect for the director/storyboarder, Nakanishi Nobuaki (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=5967) 中西伸彰, who had directed episodes of CCS and did a lot on Kaikan Phrase, but whose only series-director credits were years ago, on Bomberman Bidaman Bakugaiden and Little Women 2.
The animation is good, too. I especially liked a scene where Hazumu is stamping her feet with excitement. And the emotion in the faces is great.
There's an amusing reference while Tomari is reading her magazines. Weekly Shounen Wednesday instead of Sunday, and she's reading Dengeki Shoujo (parodying Dengeki Daioh probably) and has an ad for "Neko no Tsubo" (Cat Jar) parodying "Tora no Ana" (Tiger's Lair) and it has the same Miko-chan (meaning pretty tiger) type manga ad, featuring Mi(mo/ge/mou)-chan (with the mo/ge/mou meaning hair/fur)

This episode finally touches the triangle relationships of T, Y, H.
The pace is kinda speedy but not too hard to catch up. [IMHO that pace is good for such kinda shows, it created a big cliffhanger effect right before the ED start rolling. I enjoyed that.]
Now that's what a good storyboarder must be accounted for. 9 outta 10 I'd say.
This epsiode kind of crossed the line for me when it came to the ecchi comedy. Hazumu is struggling with her feelings for Yasuna and the father just ignores this to be a pervert. And I thought he might actually sit down and ask what's wrong too. It put a dent in an otherwise great episode.

But this episode was so good (for romance-lovers like me)
Me too (*^_^*)
Imo the story is progressing faster than I thought.
So I guess their are not many episodes to go (about 12 max).
Gee, it did rain didnt it :heh:

Millenia:
I haven't watched Ep4 yet, but they're covering more story now per episode? I know that Ep1-3 were all 1 chapter each ... how many chapters does Ep4 cover now? And yes, it's my guess the series will be 13 episodes, but I have no idea how they're going to wrap it up because isn't the manga only 2 tankobons in Japan yet even? Guess the manga is going to be somewhat shorter as well.

Somehow I had a strange feeling of the author, publisher and the animation staff wishes to warp them up at the same moment when I start judging with the current pacing.

Episode 4 has been subbed. Should hit Suki soon.

Ayuki is everywhere... Take the blue pill Tomari~ o_o
Plenty of drama, but Tomari just has to break things up at the last second. =/
And Hazumu's dad continues his downward spiral. Venus! >_<

I had a serious Mai HiME flashback in this episode... a certain scene...
That would make Hazumu as Mai, Yasuna as Reito and Tomari as Tate... just so long as Yasuna isn't posessed by the love child of Sauron and a Takoyaki stick...
Big deviation from the manga, though... I like Yasuna's confession better in this anyway. Leaves more room for drama for the classroom kiss.
But then, if my theory is right, the original artist didn't want too much Yasuna/Tomari rivalry to get in the way.
And yes, Ayuki is frickin' everywhere... :p
10/10 for me :D
From the Shuffle Forums and on to my new favorite anime of this season Kashimashi and what can I say? This is EXACTLY what i've been searching for. It hasn't been since Kannaduki no Miko (spelled wrong possibly) that theres been a yurish anime and I must say that this one is brilliant. It is solely girl romance because the main character is in essence, a male ... well initially anyway. I can't remember the last time such a love triangle was formed in an anime.
Kashimashi is new and exiting and made for all you romance suckers like me. Very quick and not to bore, only one episode was needed for most of the settings and now its off to the races... and I do mean races.
WELCOME TO YURIWORLD POPULATION 3 (T, Y, H)
Wow, Yasuna for the win. Thats all i can really say about this ep.

Without going into anything that hasn't been shown in the anime yet, what was changed here from the manga?
This episode was really good, now real dorama starts to kick in. Hazumu is still little clueless, but not totally, I think. Yasuna has made her move, and I loved the little scene she has with Hazumu in karaoke bar.
Now it is up to Tomari to fight for Hazumu. And I support Tomari x Hazumu. :D
Ayuki is a stalker...I'll just ignore her.
Anyway from now on it's total war :D

Yeah, her/his/its father is really creeping me out as well.
Some might be viewing it as funny (i'm not making judgements, just stating my opinion here), but a parent getting sexually excited over their own child (even in jest) is just a bit too much for me. :upset:

x3. It's just not funny, no matter how hard Hazumu's mom puts the beatdown on his dad afterwards. There's been enough of this...
Moving on... Yasuna is kinda using her renewed friendship with Hazumu... She is certainly open/a bit forceful about her feelings, in any case. Poor Hazumu is so confused. :(
And what's Tomari going to do? Confess, too? That would make Hazumu's head asplode...

x4. Another proof of using too much same old parent gag is bad.
Put Namiko's flop down aside, the parent is pushing too much.
Since Hazumu's parents are not your normal fond caring parents, I won't give them too much of care, but treat them as a running gag.
I give Hazumu's pop a single bit of pity on his oni wife and his position of being a photographer*, but as a running gag? I'd say first 2 times would be acceptable, but when the 3rd times comes, it really get into nerves.
*(one of my married friend who have to shoot sexy swimsuits models as a photographer had to face the pressure of fear from being framed being a pervert by his wife, and he's not allowed to watch other hotties on streets when his walks with his wife, speaking about sassy wife......)
In terms of manga side of Japan, pops are often protrayed as ero-oyaji/sukebe-oyaji(perverted dad). Hazumu's dad is the extreme of its own kind. :D

Hazumu's dad is alittle bit out of the box for me still:heh: and annoying aliens frequently spoil the show. I jumped at the end of the episode where the two girls about to kiss.I was like yeah!yeah ! kiss! kiss!.The same goes to the karaoke scene too.I never thought that I would be exited watching this anime before the episode 4.

I think the best way would be for you to read here:
http://smv.files.deltaanime.net/view.php?a=Kashimashi%20~Girl%20Meets%20Girl~
They're becoming very, very different, so you probably won't spoil yourself much reading it. :p
@Catgirls: I hope that's within the rules... It's not a fansub site in any case, and the manga hasn't been liscenced, so... :p

Much appreciated. I shall inspect the manga with caution, then.
So now I know what they were saying in the silent part in the anime... and they were saying... "Um" and their names. Disappointing? :p
Slight (elitist?) regret to hear that it's starting to deviate like that, but the anime is certainly doing great as it is. (Thinking of My HiME and Vandread as examples, though I haven't watched much of either and barely touched on the mangas...)
EDIT: Shows how much I know about My HiME, then. :p
Akuma-sama

They can't really be compared...
Kashimashi is a manga that was adapted into an Anime that deviates away from the plot; first similar examples that jump to my mind are Hellsing and Ranma, neither of which made it through the deviation unharmed, whereas Kashimashi is GAINING from it so far.
My HiME was originally an (highly, highly, oh-so-highly reccomended) Anime that got adapted into a Manga by some Takumi-hater who decided Tate needed a Harem.
:p
I'm not regretting the deviation; the Anime is doing it right. If they keep it up, we'll have two enjoyable stories to follow for the price of... well, none, really... Fansubs and Scanslations, after all ;)

I hope they don't, cos for the oddest reason she is so cute when she is called that. :p
And is it just me or does Yasuna look like a more filled out version of Tomoyo from Card Captor Sakura?

*nods* She does. Down to the "I'll let the one I love go after someone else since it makes her happy" personality; all she needs is a camera. :D
And Tomari reminds me of Mikan from Gakuen Alice, especially in her SD scenes. I still say Tomari would be a thousand times cooler with a Kansai accent :heh:
well ... Akuma ...
Mai HiME anime and manga was made at the pretty much same time by two sets of crew ... only thing they really got in common is the input (rough character profiles, rough storyboard etc)

I am starting to like this series more and more as i watch it. I mean we got down to serious emtional stuff there at the end. I should have known with the title being girl triangle. I personally like Tomari she liked Hasumu when no one else did and always stood by him plus i just like her as a charcter, i think as the series goes on there are going to be more chances to see who each girl tries to out do the other one, also we really dont know what Hasumu thinks of all this she is so scattred brained its hard to tell. Myuki was right with the advice she gave and i hope tomori listens
BTW WHAT IN THE HELL IS UP WITH THAT DAD I MEAN THAT SCENE WITH THE DRESS WAS FUNNY BUT VERY VERY CREEPY . KEEP IT IN YOUR PANTS DAD AND PUT DOWN THAT DAMN CAMERA

I give this episode a 9, since imho it's clearly the better on all of the released until now.
Solid romance, sweet mood, believable character development. A marvellous Tamura Yukari as Tomari, although the other two main leads' VA don't miss a single point.
And also a believable story development, Hazumu loved Yasuna in the first place, and her feelings were already almost completely returned. So it makes sense that this stifled love can now bloom.
Hard times for Tomari, I sympathize with her a lot. But I sympathize with all of the girls, to say the truth. Each of them has her own reason. I really wonder how all of this will develop.
If I had to find a flaw, I wish those dumb jokes with the Sensei (oh, this time she felt downstairs ... ) and with Hazumu's father will get deleted from the show, since while at the beginning they could have been funny, now they're just plain annoying and repetitive.

It's wierd. I never been a big fan of Yaoi love stories, but the way this series has shaped up so far, I definetly like it. I just feel bad for Hazumu...

Yaoi = boy les.
Yuri = girl les.
It's easy to get messed up......
KaneDragon

You do NOT want to get those two mixed up! :p
Still, Yasuna seems like she's rushing things, though...
Being so close to Hazumu and then turning him down without explanation (because she was afraid)
Hazumu gets turned into a girl
They become friends again
Yasuna confesses, no explanation for the change in position...
But we'll see if Ep 5 resolves this with a Yasuna-Tomari confrontation.

Wow, just finished watching this episode (I know I know I'm behind, what can I say I'm busy). Excellent 9 out of 10 again. The romance aspect is getting way turned up which is really bringing the "wait he's a dude" thought come up a lot. All I know is that if I was in Hazumu's shoes I would just sit back and let them fight it out. :D
I say that the dad joke is still funny though, thus my avatar still stays.
BTW KaneDragon your sig cracks me up!

I am glad that they focusing (so far) on the romance expect of the story instead of the comedy. Ep4 had some very scenes. An love between girl/girl/girl grand :D
Didn't anyone find it nasty that Yasuna DIDN'T wash the strawberry before putting it into her mouth? And she gave half of it to Hazumu. Ok, that is totally unsanitary. Repulsive even.

They were spraying it with water, from the hose though... and they do kiss, so sharing food isn't too bad.
