Episode 67 Screencaps and Long Summary (http://randomc.animeblogger.net/2006/02/07/bleach-67/)
-The new game is going to take place at school. The mission is to find an imposter before noon.
-Everything at school seems fine until Tatsuki disappears. Soon the entire class starts to vanish.
-Ukitake halts all traffic between the worlds, and Soi Fong (at Yoruichi's request) makes it out just as the gates are closing.
-Through Soi Fong's help, the group realizes that Sado is the imposter, but it's too late.
-Ririn isn't about to return everyone. Instead, she's ready for them to play the final game.
Next week is a one hour special. Please do not discuss anything past episode 67, or else you risk a ban. Even tags are no defense.
Special guest appearance:
2nd Squad Captain: Soi Fong!
Hope to see another Yoriuchi-Soi Fong combo performance for this filler arc.
Have yet to even locate the RAW. Looks like will have to wait until tonight to watch the episode. :upset:

:heh: Lots of funny in this one. I was rolling when Renji x ichigo:love: was happening outside the classroom:heh: :eyespin:. The kon comedy bit in the end with Ukitake giving candy to Hitsugaya was a stitch as well. Well on the episode itself Rin Rin is super cute and the whole kidnapping thing is wearing a bit thin. At least it looks like it ends next week with a 1 hr special so it should be something to look forward to. The animation took a nosedive this week some scenes were appalling but other than that it's been enjoyable.

Unfortunately the animation quality in the preview for next episode looks even worse...
Agreed. The animation feels monochromatic and the facial gestures mechanical.
The characters' faces look like non-living mannequins,
This little brat is annoying, even worse than usual. Kill it once for all and let's go to the next arc :bash:

I like RinRin, personally. Though it would be cool if the next arc's bad guys comes in and slaughters them all:heh:
:heh: Lots of funny in this one. I was rolling when Renji x ichigo:love: was happening outside the classroom:heh: :eyespin:. Oh my gosh! They are taking turns. Last time Ichigo was in the receiving end and this week it was Renji. Whatever is happening with the story, the comedy is still alive. No doubt, the ladies are getting a lot of fanservice. Ishida, on the other hand, is shining with his sewing skill. I'm starting to think sewing might be cool, not that I'm considering to get into sewing or anything. :uhoh: :heh:
And Kon.. haha.. When everyone is suspecting the other one to be the imposter, Kon says he can very quickly find out if Inoue is the impostor or not as he opens and closes his tiny, plushy fists while staring at Inoue's.. err.. profile. :heh: Kon is such a pervert!
The episode itself wasn't bad as there were less repetitiveness (the glaringly obvious kind) within the episode itself unlike those last two episodes (going in circles for minutes, or phone booth to phone booth), if one doesn't count the fact they are still playing the GAME. The animation... well, this episode has the least amount of animated movements since this arc started. And no point in talking about the character design anymore because I don't think the animators care about this story arc to have their *A* team at work although we might see a one or two good episode when the arc nears its end. The *A* team is probably being utilized for the next manga arc installment.
Anyway, the episode gets a 3/5 from me because of the comedy and because the background drawing is still nice to look at.

Jesus Christ please tell me your 100% sure on this. I'm seriously about to say screw it to the anime at this point and just read the Manga. I didn't mind having one crappy episode, and I don't really care that it's a filler. My problem is this story has no depth to it, has literally no action, not very thought through story line, and doesn't pull the viewer in at all (but tries with comedy that gets dull with nothing else in it). One of these aspects can be missing and the episode still be entertaining, but these last 3 episodes have had none of them and it is quite rediculous.
Really, the only reason I"m still watching is because I know this is just a filler and the real arc should have all the same elements that I loved from the SS arc (and before). I feel bad for people who don't realize this though. I know my roomates already stopped watching, and I"m getting to my limit....
Soi Fong is a must  dammit.. they sure know how to tempt me>.>

uhhh who said the current story arc would end next week? It may be a 1 hr episode, but its not the end of the arc. The ED should be evidence enough that the arc still has much to go ;) Afterall they dont make EDs that reflect 4 or 5 episodes ^^;; 13 at the least.

Okay, not to be a spoilsport, but
Why did no one remember Ichigo's temporary shinigami tag? Just slap each of the peeps with it, and the one that coughs up a green pebble is the perp.
Now, I'm a whore. I'll watch anything. So while the chances of me actually giving up on Bleach are quite slim, I do feel the frustration other people are going through. What gets to me is that the whole thing reeks of hamhanded plotting. "Well, uh... they don't fight the modsouls cuz the modsouls are just... um... too fast. Yeah. And the modsouls' motivation is... they're, um... jerks. Yeah."
Although there's plenty of room in the arc for them to fix that last one yet.
Anyone care to explained the joke in the shinigami cup? I dont get it :eyespin:
That girl just can't seem to keep her clothes on.

Terrible animation. Even though the story and game, as well as the hallway incident were good, the animation made me feel like this is going to be like Naruto.
This episode was fairly entertaining but also frustrating.
Why didn't Ichigo just ask each of them questions only the real person would know.
Ichigo: "Hey Chado; who gave you that necklace that you value above all else?"
Chado: "Um... i dunno"
Bingo fake found out in 10 seconds. Ishida uses his brain to figure out the last game then shuts it off in this one.
Also, maybe someone could fill me in to why Soi Fong just randomly came up and kicked a window then ran away?? Don't tell me she knew somehow that the broken glass would scare the imposter.
There were a few good comedy parts so that was good and thank the Lord that they toned down the girls laughing.

It was an annoying episode. They could have found out the impostor in so many ways. Application of Ichigo's medalion on everyone and check who pops out a pill. Asking each person a question that only they know the answer to. And of course my solution: I figured that the impostor was the only one whose dialogue was non-existent. (I know Chad is the strong and silent type, but he practically turned mute this episode.)
As for Soi Fong shattering the glass, I haven't any clue why she did that. I suspect that Soi Fong and Youruichi are up to something on the roof and the glass was just broken by accident. I don't know why Soul Society has gone silent either. Perhaps both these mysteries will be solved in the next episode.

Actually i thought the imposter was Ishida... He was talking TOO MUCH to be him... and i don't think he's a believer in using intuition either...
Yeah i'm glad this filler arc's gonna be over... i was actually hoping for it to be less serious, less irritating and more humourous.... kinda like the first 10+ eps but i'm not gonna pass judgement till i see the next arc.

OMGWTFBBQ, that's so cute!
Ukitake still treating Hitsugaya like a kid. :heh: :heh: (Even though Ukitake IS more than 2000 years Hitsugaya's senior. xD )
That really made my day.
But didn't the SS Female Association sub-arc get forgotton? Maybe it'll be mentioned again in future Shinigami Golden sections. I was kind of looking forward to what crazy ideas the Female Association president Yachiru would come up with. (It's probably her that came up with Soul Candy and the funky animal names like Chappy in place of the more sombre "Gikongan". )
On the episode itself, I also thought Ichigo could have had it easier by just asking personal questions the imposter could not know the answer to. As for Rin Rin being annoying, I don't feel that way at all, she's kinda cute to me. :)

Well, I feel fully justified in all my negative comments on this 'filler' arc (I've stopped calling it 'original story arc' now, it doesn't deserve the title). Plot = suck. Bad guys = suck. RinRin = DIE you annoying little bint. I skipped through the entire episode, I found it that excruciatingly paintful to watch. A brief glimpse of the lovely Soifon and the Shinigami Cup Golden were the only two good things in this episode IMHO.
Overall opinion of this episode: It sucked like a toothless man confronted with a bag of humbugs. However, since the next ep seems to have some more SS action, even if it's a small amount, I will download it just for that (I can hope for RinRin to die a horrible death as well of course :D ).

Then please don't watch Bleach anime from now on.
For those who dislike the way the Bleach anime fillers are going to, please don't watch the shows. Keep your complains and comments to yourself. Keep posted with the news threads and skip these fillers episodes until the 'manga' story is picked up.
Save yourself the breath and memory space. I am not impressed with people who complain about the fillers and still end up still downloading the fillers to watch.
Reread the Bleach mangas and memorize them .....that should keep you preoccupied with the same story and humor in them.

I think some of you people are just to damn cynical [ which is saying ALOT coming from me, the fountain which all cynicism flows from ]
It was a fun, entertaining episode. It ain't naruto, stop comparing it to that, and just shut the hell up and god damn enjoy it. If you think it sucks so hard than just fucking stop watching it, For christ sake.
Regardless of everyone's negative comments for this arc, I actually enjoy these games.
The intruders want to play with the minds of our heroes to doubt about themselves, to confuse them, to expose their frailties and weaknesses, and to wear them down.
This psychological taxing endeavor makes for an effective strategy approach.
For episode 67, the theme of the school game meant if-the-person-right-next-to-me-is-who-he/she-seems-to-be-?
Frequently it worked as mostly Inoue, Ichigo, and Renji took out the bait.
The music as always is thrilling, jittering, psychotic-esque, always to listen over and over.
Do you recall a previous post of mine in the previous episode's thread?
Since Ririn, Cloud, and Nova were discovered to be Mod Souls, I'm postulating a brand-new theory.
What if they happen to be Mod Souls created by somebody else?
Information about the Mod Soul project that leaked from Soul Society to another party.
I wonder if Ririn and her comrades are in fact test-type Mod Souls to measure the abilities and psychological profiles of Ichigo and his companions.
Makes sense with all the games that they are upholding.
Our three intruders have not yet made remarks about Shinigami or Soul Society either.
Cloud (in Chad's disguise) did not point out Soi Fong as a Shinigami rather a very, strong woman.

Agreed. I think the critics are expecting too much from the fillers, which are not meant to outshine the real story in the 1st place anyway.
For the people who are complaining and bitQ$%ng about the filler episodes, may I ask you all a question.
If you're that extremely negative about them, then why do you watch them?
Wouldn't be better if you just skipped them for as long as they last and on the meantime following the manga?
On-Topic
This week's Bleach joke was Chizuru's remark observing, along with the rest of the class, Ichigo trying to strip Renji..... (off his gigai)
The Forbidden Love -- Kindan no Ai--
Chizuru says all expectant and blushy.
I couldn't stop myself from laughing that I started to cough nastily.
I wonder if a healthy lesbian like Chizuru adores and enjoys to read yaoi manga and all kinds of stuff related to yaoi?
Either that or she wants to accost badly Inoue the same way as she mistakingly thought Ichigo was accosting Renji?

One thing I like about these fillers is they emphasize more on Ichigo's school and family life. I thought SS arc was boring with only fights and fights, Ichigo racing and competing with other shinigamis who stand in his way, while Rukia waits in the white tower.
But with the fillers, I get to see my other favourite characters, for instance KEIGO!! Tatsuki, Mizuiro and the other girls (the one with short hair and the other with long hair....don't really know the names). And the humors they have.....certainly more than an average SS arc episode, especially after Ichigo's fight with Kenpachi.
It doesn't matter with the quality of the animations (I think Orihime looked very ugly here and Ichigo very deformed).....but the laughs, make me look forward to it every tuesday and wednesdays.
The humor in Bleach is what attracted me first. Shinigamis and hollows.....weren't something that I would look for first in choosing what anime to watch.
This little brat is annoying, even worse than usual. Kill it once for all and let's go to the next arc :bash:
agreed. this spoiled brat needs some serious bankaispanking. i just dont get it why ichigo and renji are playing every stupid game they come up with.

Well, my excuse is, as I said, I'm a whore. I'd like all the johns to be handsome young men in their twenties, but I have to service the fat slobby 40 year olds, too. Their payoff is just as good.
Such as the Gigai scene you mentioned.
And I'm still hopeful that Ririn is being portrayed in such an obnoxious fashion so that we don't feel bad when Ichigo inevitably puts her in her place.
(Woo for the grossly extended analogy!)

I loved this Filler, so i just don't get why some people even consider to compare it with Naruto Fillers.
There's Fanservice. There's Humor. Good Artwork & Animation. As for the Story, it's not as good as it could be, but it's good enough to keep people interested.
All those things mentioned before, are what the average Naruto Filler is missing, IMO.
But enough of that, the reason i'm posting is because i noticed something interesting:
Does anyone of you know the Yu Yu Hakusho series?
At a certain point, Yu Yu Hakusho had a couple of Fillers, taking place after the second arc, and starting with Episode 67!
Here's a short summary:
- Three guys with supernatural powers appeared and took the main character as a hostage
- The remaining 4 main characters are searching for him as they were lured into a house of "illusions"
- They are forced to play games according to certain rules, otherwise their friend would be killed
- Each one of them entered different rooms at the same time to find theirselves in a some kind of maze, which appeared to have no exit
- After clearing the maze, the enemy stated that one of the 4 saviours is fake, faked up by one of the enemies, who got the special ability to copy a person
- They were forced to find the imposter within a time limit, otherwise the caught one would be killed
Pretty interesting, huh?
Coincidence?
....well, not really.
Because of one major reason: Yu Yu Hakusho was directed Noriyuki Abe, the very same person that is directing Bleach since the beginning!!!
But it makes me think... are the scriptwriters so out of ideas, to produce fillers that are that similar to those of former hit series?

I loved the episode, except the part when Tatsuki vanished:(:frustrated:  Though I wonder when we'll find out who the last three characters are from the ending theme...
Isn't the mimic guy supposed to be able to have the memories of the person he imitates? He knew the details of Inoue's brother, and he knew what Inoue was doing earlier that day when faking as her. But suddenly he gets busted in a typical memory test(which they should have tried in the first place). It's also pretty absurd that even Ishida didn't remember about the shinigami tag, despite the fact that he used it on one of them just last night.

Seems like Soi Fong and Youruichi already figured out the *source* that cause all of these. RinRin and her sidekicks are may be just the illusions, that's why they can disappear from one spot to another in that speed. Soi Fong and Youruichi are the fastest girls(I think) in soul society,so they may already knew the answer for all this.OR they can try to match up with those guys' speed to figure out the mess.

Yeah, I've read them. Most reasons seem kinda dumb...some could be said about the last season, and others ppl normally actually like. The complaints are getting old and really unnecissary, IMO. And no more than 4 episodes into this season, no less:rolleyes:
I think the problem is that the people that like this arc see the people with complaints as cynical or are just complaining because its not a manga arc but that is just not the case.
Even if this wasn't a filler arc the problems would still remain and would be brought up. Such as the predictability, glaring leaps in logic, sub-par animation, and frustration some viewers are experiencing.
Some may see this arc as great and some may see it as horrible but why get angry at some people's opinions?
Instead of telling people to shut up or to stop watching the show why isn't the topic open to discussion about these particular problems.

Instead of telling people to shut up or to stop watching the show why isn't the topic open to discussion about these particular problems.
I assume that the question was intended rhetorically, but there is an actual answer. Whenever someone complains about these episodes, their complaint is viewed in light of this being a filler story. Hence, people who enjoy the episode are just hearing, "Yap-filler-yap-filler-yap-yap," and tune out any actual criticism since it seems to be complaints simply because it is filler. Even worse, they are often right since many people really do automatically grade the episode much harsher as a result of the filler issue.
If this episode had been in the manga, these complaints would be a lot more muted and people would focus more on the postives. You'd be hearing a lot more about the fun school stuff and comedy, as well as less about the bad plotting. Many people - but not all people - really do judge filler differently.
As a result of this, anyone who likes this arc easily gets their back up about the unfair inequity in the criticisms.
With both sides getting bent out of shape over the filler issue, we'll have to try extra hard to keep the topic open to discussion about particular problems.

I like this new arc. There have been some really funny moments and the plot is alright. And finally a badguy that I can dislike. Aizen, Tousen and Gin is too freakin´awesome to dislike.
(Sometimes I had to remind myself that Aizen is supposed to be the badguy)
But I keep having this feeling that they will have a happy ending for those three that is kidnapping everybody. I want them to be pounded into the ground and feel the bitter taste of loosing.
(But I doubt reactions would be all too positive if they let Ichigo and company kick a little girls ass... But the other two should be approved targets. :heh: )
Boring episode, this new arc is really bad. Jokes are really tasteless, everything is so childish, please don't tell me that you all enjoyed this arc, i won't believe you :]
Something tells me that after next week special we will get another filler arc!!!

I wouldn´t mind some more fillers (or original story) after this arc which I´m enjoying. Since... (I haven´t read the manga but I suppose I should call this a minor manga spoiler)
...they say that the manga doesn´t have much, or any at all?, comedy when the shinigamis come to "our world" and I´m hoping that the original stories will cover that.
Most of the negative comments are coming from the poeple who are saying they are enjoying the fillers. They are telling people to shut up, saying the given reasons behind why the filler might not be good are stupid, implying people shouldn't post if the views aren't positive which pretty much tells you that these people only want to read/tolerate opinion which agree with their general view.
If you (not Guido in general) see it as annoying as how some of the comments are extremely negative then you should also be able to see how some of the positive comments sound so extemely positive which can also be annoying. Yet, no one is telling you to shut up, or stop posting, or that your reasonings for liking the fillers are dumb.
Guido mentions the mod souls approach is putting a lot of psychological stress to the Ichigo and the gang which makes the filler arc enjoyable. That the mind are games intended to wear and tear our heroes mentally, but these kind of situations aren't anything new in Bleach.
Recall, how Rukia was being taken to the execution ground. She made her peace as she was ready to die and then, Gin appeared in front of her. He told her he could free her if she wished to live. As she started contemplating when she was shown a ray of hope, Gin tells her he was lying.
Then you have Ichigo who pretty much throw way the everyday norm to shoulder the burden of a Shinigami when the situation demanded his sisters needed to be saved from the hollow who was holding them hostages. I'm talking about the first episode. Wasn't that psychologically taxing? Or when Ichigo was told he would become a hollow after a certain amount of time unless he could do something about it. Or the time when Hinamori got stabbed by the person she admired the most and the first question she asked was something incredulous like "what is it?" with a dumbfounded expression on her face. The question she asked wasn't "why". Last time we heard she had yet to recover and not only from physical injury.
The psychology card has been played many many times in Bleach to portray a moment or a situation. It just that the aspect of those psychological moment had been executed really well. In fillers, things are pretty much repetitive where the heroes seem not be given any choice but not to play those games, which pretty much indicates that the writers are struggling to come up with a solid convincing story without too much holes. And when the story isn't that engaging one tends to notice all the other aspect of a series such as animation, drawing, music, etc. All the comments about animation and drawing aren't being Bleach's standard are on target as well. Bottom line is that if there are some extremely negative comments then there are also some extremely positive comments about these fillers.
Well... I thought the animation got better :heh:
And I didn't mind those episodes either. I can't say for sure whether this arc was good or not, I have to see the end first, but up to now, I'm ok. I had to watch the whole DB to hate it and even when I realised it just kills my time, I was still watching it. It had its nice moments but it was ultimately flawed.
Like Shuffle. I liked Shuffle up to ep 20, ep 21 ruined the whole series for me and I'm not going to watch it again ever, but I did download the next 3 episodes, just to have an opinion.
Anyway, it's a matter of personal taste. I may think the animation was ok while most people seem to have a different idea about this episode. So, I'll continue to enjoy the show for now, unless they pull an "Asa" :p

I think the chief complaints come down to this.
Animation, while it has taken hits in some places, has overall kept a good quality.
Story, People don't like to think and the lack of mindless powaaa up! and sword fighting confuses and scares them.

Mmmmmmmmm ... More fillers please, no anime can ever be completely perfected without fillers.. Oo man who is the creative soul who made this episode ? They must keep him / her / it locked up so his /her / its creativity wont leak away..
Oo man soo creative... can't wait for the next amazing episode of random storyline with super annoying characters.. I m going to sit here till next tuesday.. Yup that is what I am going to do.. Wait here in front of my monitor for the next bleach episode...
Oo man this reminds a lot of how Naruto suddenly became a lot more interesting with its fillers.. It became too intense that people stopped watching it..

It has become a filler basher thread because these episodes are obviously below the typical quality of the bleach norm. Some may be judging the episodes harshly just because they arent in the manga but that still doesn't change the fact that these episodes have their glaring problems.
Even if this wasn't a filler arc the problems would still remain and would be brought up. Such as the predictability, glaring leaps in logic, sub-par animation, and frustration some viewers are experiencing.
You can't just ignore people's numerous complaints and chalk it up to people not liking it simply because it isn't in the manga.

Yeah and I'm glad (proud even) cause if it wasn't for me and a few others every random veiwer of this thread would think BLEACH isn't worth watching right now and by default would have to listen to the psuedo-arrogance of manga-only readers who b!tch about it being filler, but ya never hear them b!tch when Soul Society arc had filler-galore...Oh you think the head-captain melting his nipples off for 20mins while Kyōraku and others watched wasn't filler?? Oh you think Tetsuzaemon Iba sipping sake and "shooting the breeze" with Ikkaku while I'm looking at my BS Player time-code knowing I'm only gonna see 1 minute of Byakuya vs. Ichigo fight ain't filler?? Get a clue all of you...
As for this weeks episode it was good...I was engaged...I gotta admit they got me...I thought for sure Chad was the red-herring...So the imposter had to be Ichigo (anybody else felt like that?)...I was kinda pi$$ed because I pride myself on solving stuff...Ichigo walking around, being somewhat level-headed and controlling most of (if not all) of the action had me believing he was traitor....I thought he was purposely wasting time off the clock...I also thought the fact his real body was placed at the school was another indicator pointing to Ichigo...Oh well even wingdarkness is wrong every millenia :( ..l
I also like the high-school comedy aspect of the show (which is exactly how the series began)...I mi$$ed it during 1000k jog that was SS...the cool background music during the kooky scene between IchixRenji was great...I pumped-up my headphones and laffed at it a few times...I'm fine with what's going on right now(Last time I checked when I'm laffing, I'm enjoying myself)...My anticipation for them to actually fight these characters are high (eventhough i know it'll be 3 or 4 eps away)...We haven't even sniffed the main boss yet...So please manga-readers stop watching so this forum can be filled with optimism and not degenrate the way the Naruto forum has...
These current BLEACH episodes have entertained me and that has to mean something...Looking forward to how it shapes up...

I wish they would have stopped making bleach till the manga got ahead more then countinue making it. Some people say we would like the fillers if it were part of the manga. Wrong if these fillers were part of the manga i wold have lost intrest in it along time ago. I whatched many anime sereis, i know i good one when i see it. After whatching so many great anime u start to understand more and get alittle more picky in what u whatch. But for you young people or people who havent seen much You guys are easily entertained so anything they throw at you, you will like. but u will change when u get older ;). but for us experianced whatchers we know a good story when we see one. Reason I dont like Fillers is they have to tweak the original story around to fit the fillers. but if u guys enjoy the fillers thats good. There not worth my time, thats what happens when u whatch so much movies/series in your time, its all been there done that heh so u get alittle picky. So all in all if you dont like the fillers just stop whatching. And that girls laugh really getting anoying ;)

:o meh...What you are saying is pure conjecture (Younger viewers?!?! How do you know any of this?!?!)...I've probably watched more anime than you have and still find nothing overtly wrong about this arc...I'm extremely picky and seldom watch series unless I research them first...I watch series like GITS and FMA to engage my mind...I watch shows like BLEACH to engage my fun, shonen side...Watch those blanket-statements, they tend to suffocate the person that uses them...If I was 14 I woulda enjoyed this episode the same if I was 24...
...So by your standard I'm not an experienced anime watcher because I enjoyed a kooky episode that was funny and entertaining to me...My God, please do a search on all posts made by wingdarkness...The similcons don't make your post any more tolerable ;) ...

Unimportant details? The whole show came to a conclusion because some random shinigami came up and kicked a window and the glass scared the fake. Theres a million intelligent ways to figure out the fake and Ishida busts out his gem of an idea "I know! Let's use intuition!" :twitch: Everyone praised him for his "brains over brawn" performance last episode and then he comes up with this and you see no problem with it?
We aren't talking about Ichigo not dotting his "i's" in his name this is the very fabric of the plot. Id say that this complaint is quite real.

^Heh...You don't even get it...The reason Ishida wasn't as "brilliant" as the credit people gave him for last week is because he was being played-up as an imposter...If he just comes up with a great plan to figure everything out you automatically then would dismiss him as an imposter (This is purposely done by the director)...It's a "figure out whose the imposter episode" , not a "come up with brilliant plan that automatically works episode" ...The purpose of the ep was to have the audience try to figure out who was fake (along with the characters)...So much for your "brilliant" deduction I guess...It's called suspending belief and having fun trying to figure it out...

Well I think it's very subtle, but what they did achieve (In any event)...is that figuring it out wasn't easy IMO...I totally dismissed Chad cause he seemed to be obviously a red-herring, then I said Renji coming back also makes it too obvious...At first I thought it was Ishida, but then all my focus went to ichigo (And after Ishida knitted that plushy it had to be the real one :p) ...Ichigo didn't really act like his usual self...he usually gets frustrated and wants to fight, but in this ep he is pretty calm...he actually leads the group in a level-headed way until the final moments...And really seemed like he was purposely trying to waste time near the end...so finding out it was Chad kinda surprised me...
I'm not sure, but how many people can honestly say they knew it was Chad the whole time? The whole Ichigo's real body being at the school also seemed like a harbinger to me...Anyways i think the ep did what it set out to do and that was confuse the hell outta us while throwing in alot of good comedy and entertainment...
The sword fights will come people!! I love them too, but I understand that when developing a new arc you have to wait for the superficial greatness sometimes...This is just ep 4, sheeesh...

The purpose of the ep was to have the audience try to figure out who was fake (along with the characters)...So much for your "brilliant" deduction I guess...It's called suspending belief and having fun trying to figure it out...
This wasn't really complicated, was it?
To place an imposter, they had to exchange an existing member, and the only ones, they could have done this with were Chad and Inoue. All the other characters were together all the time, so how could anyone (of them, and of the audience) even think, that one of them isn't the real one?
And to choose between those two you just had to look at the small hints. Like the girl telling Inoue, that Tatsuki was gone... she wouldn't have done this, if Inoue wasn't the real Inoue, which clearly showed, that the imposter was Chad.
Just like the wingdarkness said I didn't have an idea of Chad was a fake coz the show was moving too fast and didn't give me enough time to think about it.:heh:
After the show I chill out and figure out the things, draw a mind-map on a blank paper and scratch my head a few time pretending like I didn't watch the show.yeah! that's it. I know that's Chad right from the beginning :heh:
Well, I got it on the dot. I was like yes when I gues right. Anyway I liked this eps. it had that twist in it and it hooks you to the next eps. I will we could understand more on what's going on. But I like that. I'd have to say that the ending was the best, in the Golden Cup. After I watched it I was like what the heck and then I just could not stop laughing for next 2 min straight.

Please note that there are many criticisms of this story which have nothing to do with a lack of fighting.
In this last episode, what about the fact that nobody asked any personal questions that a fake would have problems figuring out or applied Ichigo's substitute-shinigami medallion. Either of these would have been a reasonable solution that the writers should have bothered to think of a way around.
How about the repetitive running sequences in the previous episode? Not once, not twice, but three times we did a boring running sequence.
How about the poor animation for so many episodes in a row?
How about Renji's out of character dialogue just so that Ichigo would do something embarassing. Yeah, it was a funny scene, but Renji really was out of characer.
Any of these are valid criticisms. The lack of sword-play has nothing to do with why these episodes are having problems. Personally I prefer an intelligent story over meaningless fights, but quite frankly these episodes aren't that brilliant. If I want a clever story I'll have to go watch Noein or Mushishi, not Bleach

Slice-a-thons, dude. Slice-a-thons. Punch, slice, still frickin boring after the 26+th episode of it.
tl;dq
To prevent a tl:dr; Out of this and Soul Socity, this is, IMHO, the lesser of two evils.
For me it's as good as Subsuitute Shigami and I'm aware of how other people don't like it.
And My eye doesn't pick up poor animation anyway.

Here, let me give this a shot...
In this last episode, what about the fact that nobody asked any personal questions that a fake would have problems figuring out or applied Ichigo's substitute-shinigami medallion. Either of these would have been a reasonable solution that the writers should have bothered to think of a way around.
Maybe the characters wouldn't have thought of that? I mean, they were on a strict time limit. That's enough for someone's mind to falter. Granted not so much as to try to make one of your classmates 'strip' in front of everyone, but hey...
How about the repetitive running sequences in the previous episode? Not once, not twice, but three times we did a boring running sequence.
How about the running sequences right after the Ikkaku/Ichigo fight in the SS arc? That got even more boring, IMO.
How about the poor animation for so many episodes in a row?
Didn't look any different to me...
How about Renji's out of character dialogue just so that Ichigo would do something embarassing. Yeah, it was a funny scene, but Renji really was out of characer.
Don't remember that, actually:heh:
Okay, I'm not that good at counter arguments:( But I still stick to what I'm trying to say.

How about Renji's out of character dialogue just so that Ichigo would do something embarassing. Yeah, it was a funny scene, but Renji really was out of characer.
But NSW must I say this again...The purpose of the ep was to try and fool or confuse the audience...I noticed Ishida, Renji, and Ichigo as the 3 guys that did things I felt out of character during that ep...Chad acting the same made me believe he was the red-herring...Now everybody percieves different things but that's evidence "the game" did what it intended to do...Just like you thought Renji was acting strange other people (like me) thought Ichigo was acting strange...others still Ishida, and I suspect Orihime and Chad too...
When you make a "figure out whose the fake episode" you do things to make the audience feel each character has a chance to be the fake...You noticing Renji's "fakness" was a byproduct of that intent...Now I'm not telling you how to feel, if it was not impressive to you that's your subjectivity (aswell as others)....
I'm not saying it's brilliant, I'm saying it did what it intended to do and was entertaining in the process...And I for one had no probs with it...And in the end (like most of this thread) I didn't fully figure it out...
You who couldn't have even narrowed the imposter down to Inoue and Chad are telling people to get a clue? Ha! Hilarious! Now for other news from DB's bittorent tracker:
Episode# of Bleach
downloaded
days the torrent exist
64 219997 22
65 211633 15
66 207383 8
67 161095 1
What's the point? Hmmm... When you say that you are sort of glad and may be even proud for bashing the fans because those fans "bash" the episodes, which may result in lesser people watching the show...well, I just had to let out a chuckle. Seriously, you either shamelessly self advertising or you honestly don't have a clue. The point of that stat is that no matter what "you" or "I" say, it's not going to reflect on how many people will download the show each week. All those 200+ K downloaders don't come to this forum to read about an opinion of the show, as if to get an idea if they should watch an episode. People dowloads because it's Bleach, just like people are still downloading Naruto in 200+ K numbers each week and that's only the BitTorrent stats.
There is nothing to be proud of bashing fans because they dared criticizing a show. That is self arrogance, especially when we should know people can pretty much decide for themselves what they may like or what they may not like. It's only natural that opinions will follow based on their liking/disliking.

It is indeed hiliarious how I turn the tables on those thinking they actually got me...
Haven't read the thread yet, so I'll just let it rip...
For whatever reasons I like episodes where you have to figure out how to get out of a maze or trap...The episode wasn't boring in the least and proves you don't have to have 2 guys whaling swords for an ep to be worth watching...This ep served the purpose of getting Ishida, Renji, and Ichigo face-time as a team-trio and Ishida played a good medium to the testosterone-pumping numskulls Ichi x Renji...Still trying to figure out why Nova had a false body and how that little annoying brat (yeah she's starting to annoy me with that laff :p ) uses illusion powers (Does she just manipulate Reisutga?)...Also I wouldn't trust Chad and Inoue just yet...It can't be that easy...
Remember to leave me all those black-feathers when you eat that crow...And don't forget to tell me how it tastes OK...The nerve of some people thinking they actually got me...ha!

Talk about emotional overkill  ...I never said I wanted to "bash" others (Your first misguided attempt)...So let me clarify...I meant I'm proud of those who are defending and having a level-head about this "new-arc" instead of you (and others more extreme than you) who are trashing a "new arc" (for the most part because their manga-heads)...A "new arc" that's only 4 episodes deep and really has yet to materialize in any real way (Oh but that's filler  Just like SS at times) ...
I don't think your a fool, I've debated you enuff to know that you are indeed not one, so stop acting like one...Understand that random members will get misguided by people "fillerizing" every aspect of BLEACH...Doesn't matter if their continuing to DL the eps...that doesn't encompass excitement and anticipation for each episode (you dl naruto-filler knowing it's more than likely gonna suck)...
Look at Naruto forum for example...Naruto actually had a good episode this week, but 2days after the episode airs only 16 posts worth of discussion before wingdarkness dropped in (That shows you the total disinterest with the show that even when there's a good ep, people don't give a damn because of their "filler-preset")...I don't want that to happen to the Bleach forum...where the entire interest of the show turns into nothingness cause every freak with a member-account and a BLEACH manga jumps on an diss these eps primarily because they are filler (You think people don't read this and aren't influenced)...All I'm doing is trying to keep a decent interest and excitment level for the show by not coping out with this whole filler-junk (and just giving my real and honest opinions)...
If your not impressed by a specific episode that's fine, but by breaking your back at every chance to tell us (and the masses to some extent) your "filler gripes" serves no-one (All it can achieve is making the interest in BLEACH go down)...I guess your pining for the day the BLEACH episode discussion has 5 posts after an ep cause nobody cares cause it's just "$hitty filler"...So say what you want I won't stop you, but in the spirited arena of going "back and forth" on this current Bleach arc, I refuse to let your opinions reign supreme...

My review on the Episode:
It was pretty good. Although it was really intented to take up a lot of time, it was still pretty interesting, made me keep thinking who was the Fake the WHOLE TIME!....lol
[QUOTE=coooltoool]
And where on this thread did you ever say you figured out it was Chad from the beginning? Furthermore please provide examples of the many others in this thread that said they knew without a doubt it was Chad...I guess I am patronizing you since you can't do it...I guess you are smarter than us all  ...OK I agree, stop watching BLEACH forever while us dummies enjoy...
He never said anything, and encouraged them to go to class instead of finding out who the imposter was. He had no input at all in any of the situations, and never suggested a fake. And even when he did, he pointed to Ichigo? The person he trusts the most? Everyone else pointed to the person they get along with least...except for chad.

^OK..I'm trying to figure out what your trying to say in a nutshell...You're saying that you noticed all that the first-time you watched it and figured out it was Chad from the begining?? Most of what you said sounds like hindsight, but enlighten me...
Also when does Chad ever say alot of stuff....Once again if you believed he was the red-herring (like I did) that automatically took him out of the equation for me...Now if i go back and watch the ep knowing what i know now obviously I'll see different things concearning Chad...

Whatever the purpose of the episode, you need to find intelligent ways to do things. You can't simply say that it is okay for someone to act out of character or forget that he has a head simply because it suits the plot. A character needs his own reason to act odd. You can't just say that his personality suddenly changed because the writer found it convenient. Similarly one would expect that at least Ishida would bother to ask each person a question that an imposter shouldn't know. Otherwise why not just turn him into a chimpanzee because it suits the plot. Why is a Renji a chimpanzee? Because the writer forgot how to write. Bad reason.

You can't simply say that it is okay for someone to act out of character or forget that he has a head simply because it suits the plot....
Please tell me your generalizing...Is that what I really said...what you just wrote, I simply said that?? :eyebrow:
If you do that just to do it it's one thing (and I grant in most cases unacceptable), but if you do that in the context of a "fool the audience" type of scenerio (which this ep exclusively wants to do) that's another thing...Furthermore I didn't notice what you noticed which is proof that it achieved it's goal...I thought Ichigo being all calm and rational (where he usually becomes unglued) was a harbinger...I guess you didn't notice what i noticed....
Everybody who watched this ep and wanted to have fun and play the "game" probably saw things others would find petty, or too subtle...because It's all subjective I'm sorry...The whole Renji-thing didn't phase me, neither do i think his character was betrayed (We're not talking about Shinn Asuka here)...Whose to say this wasn't Renji's idea for luring out the fake...Whose to say we've seen enuff to know how Renji would act in a school setting wearing weird clothes and interacting in contemporary class-situations??
A character needs his own reason to act odd.
Once again whose to say they weren't acting strange to syke the fake out (at the same time syking the audience)...I'm truley not understanding these gripes by you...The whole Renji-thing was barely noticable IMO (given the situation and episode context)...Now if you weren't impressed and that didn't allow you to "cross the bridge" so to speak so that you could enjoy the superficial fun of this ep sobeit...But your making a big production outta a miniscule Renji-scene that for every 5 people that thought it was illogical another 100 didn't even notice it (or were noticing things you weren't noticing)...
:topicoff: BTW I was flicking channels on my cable and guess what's on StreetFighter II Choke-scene on now... xD (Inside joke)...

If that isn't what you mean, then why do you re-iterate:If you do that just to do it it's one thing (and I grant in most cases unacceptable), but if you do that in the context of a "fool the audience" type of scenerio (which this ep exclusively wants to do) that's another thing...Am I misunderstanding that you are saying that it is okay in this instance to fool the audience by writing badly?

2006-02-11, 01:58
I'm saying you thinking the writing is bad is SUBJECTIVE...You noticing Renji acting strange is SUBJECTIVE...Me thinking Chad was a red-herring and dissmising him was SUBJECTIVE...I'm not saying the writing was brilliant (I've seen other anime eps that address similiar situations with more psycological suspense), but why does it have to meet those standards if I found it entertaining and enjoyable by my own measure...

That is not what I said...i was very specific as to why...there was nothing simple about it...I did not see it that way...But if the writer indeed showed Renji doing something you deemed totally out of character wouldn't this be the precise episode to do that in?? So much more you didn't address in my counter-argument as if my point about Renji trying to lure out the fake or the small amount of visual evidence we have on him in a school environment is meaningless....You make it seem like I'm saying all of this with no conditions to it...
You simply were unimpressed and I respect that...I simply enjoyed the ep and it did just enuff to fool me which means it achieved it's goal (making you think Renji was acting soooooo outta character once again is a byproduct)...

My congratulations for your success in turning the table. Even though you thought there might be something fishy with Chad and Inoue in episode 66 discussion thread, you still went on and on in this thread of how the show served it's purpose to engage it's audience (wingdarkness is one of those audiences from this thread who saw the purpose. Inculding you, those audiences consisted all of 3 members. Let me know if I missed anyone.) to get them into t3h psychological thriller, "who iz de l33t imposter."
As for the crow, I always wanted to eat one after I read in an article that a Chinese (could be the Koreans too) food research group couldn't differentiate the taste between chicken and crow when a chef served them cooked without labeling their respective sources. Conclusion: Crows tastes like chicken! I like chicken.
When you quoted me in your previous reply, wasn't this the portion you quoted?
Most of the negative comments are coming from the poeple who are saying they are enjoying the fillers. They are telling people to shut up, saying the given reasons behind why the filler might not be good are stupid, implying people shouldn't post if the views aren't positive which pretty much tells you that these people only want to read/tolerate opinion which agree with their general view. Get a clue all of you... You didn't leave much room for any other impression. And I suppose the definition of "level-heads" can be subjective as well when those level heads are telling people to STFU, or stop watching, or stop stating your opinion if it's negative.
Anticipation for a Bleach episode is there. You could tell it when you read those bitter notes of disappointment in many posts.
Look at Naruto forum for example...Naruto actually had a good episode this week, but 2days after the episode airs only 16 posts worth of discussion before wingdarkness dropped in Oh my gosh! LOL! Wing, why don't you conduct a poll to see how many people you managed to engage, or instigated them into a discussion in any thread? I'll definitely vote for you because you are funny. Put the poll in the Naruto forum if you will.
After reading the rest of your post, I also think that you have this misconception about a forum revolving around it's episode discussion thread. Newsflash! It doesn't. Their disinterest is in talking about an episode, NOT the show. People don't need to force themselves to only talk about the episode (and how good it was) in its designated thread when they have the option to go to the 100 other interesting threads that are talking about that show! Naruto-fans in its forum, at the moment, is doing exactaly that.
Don't try so hard converting fans to like what you like, or have them see what you see as interesting. I like the comedic moments of these ze-Original-episodes, the ending theme, and the hilarious snippets that follows after the ending theme. The writers have definitely figured out the comedy, now the wait is to see if they somehow can figure out the ze-story. Once the story gets interesting, the animation and the character design and the art will return as well.
Kubo to the rescue!

This is just my opinion, but I don't think that the modified souls are the villians. So far it looks more like they are testing Ichigo and company. In the end I think that they will be fighting on the same side. Next week will probably resolve their status and introduce the real bad guy's. And, I wonder if that bird in the ending is a wren in a play on Rin's name.

I was thinking the same thing, especially since the other three chars in the ending animation look a lot more sinister. And it makes more since that way, because why would those 2 grown men help a widdle kid like Rinwith a childish game like that?

I did enjoy the appearance of characters that shouldn't have appeared, because they make watching Bleach (anime) more exciting. The filler also can improve on the relationships of people not clarified in the manga, i.e., Yoruichi and Soi Fong.
There are so many things to improve in Bleach, yes, but I'm having fun, and with surprises like that, I will continue to.

That's kinda what I thought about Rin Rin too though at first, but recently her apperance is starting to grown on me lol.
:heh: @ the Aizen comment.
Just watched this episode (sorry gimme a late pass k), and it was ok...I think it was very obvious that it was Chad, they shoulda made something much more challenging and logical like sodoku lol. I
mean I was watching the episode hoping there would be some kind of evidence to throw a twist at you like in Detective Conan. I know Bleach isn't meant for that, but hey it's a filler and I guy can dream:). Animation wasn't much to compain about, it was ok for a filler.
Overall 7/10:D

The animation of Bleach is incomparable when juxtaposed with Naruto. I mean, Naruto seemed like a chicken scribbling on sand when beside Bleach. :)
However, nothing beats the animation of Ergo Proxy. Gosh, I just shivered with goosebumps throughout the episode because of its high amount of awesomeness.
Bleach even is just chicken-sh*t when compared to Ergo Proxy.

theres plenty of stuff that beats ergo proxy. Personally the animation was a let down. the drawings and style were pretty, but essentially the movement was not that great. I've seen better. lets see how ergy proxy looks 67 episodes later. probably a piece of shit. or lets see it go 266 episodes like One Piece... Point is of course a High budget short length show is gonna look awesome... you should really only compare it to shows of that length.
hold on a sec, what is this thread about?

To each his own. :)
Anyway ... do you know how short or long Ergo Proxy is?
The Bleach fillers still are good enough being watched. :)

^Yes Ergo Proxy is one of the dopest animated shows ever despite Glitch87's hateful dillusions, but there is a thread for it, you should post your comments there, not here...
@monir - As long as you enjoyed that crow, I can't complain ^^...You'll find eating it is a bit quicker than trying to expose me...

i just dont see why everyones jizzing themselves over it, that's all. Not liking the show is not necessarily hating it. my post was not to bash the show. it was to bash the guy comparing bleach animation with ergo proxy animation, which is stupid.

Hey, I wasn't bashing Bleach. I like watching it. I said for now, the animation really is wanting. You didn't even read my previous posts, just that one.
I was mentioning the animation ... and indeed, they cannot be compared because one towers over the other. Samurai Champloo, by the way, had 26 episodes; if you compared those twenty-six to Bleach's first twenty-six, SC would still tower over Bleach.
So I will wait and see. The twenty-three episodes of Ergo Proxy will have to be compared with the first twenty-three of Bleach. That seems fair enough.

ugh.
no
dude...
because shows like bleach are planned with a lower budget because they know they are going to make more than 23 episodes. ok it was a simple comment then whats his face called my comments hateful what with his fancy bold lettering, and underlining. ok its over. this thread is so off topic.

^Well I meant "hating" in more of a 2006 hip-hop sort of way, not that you were really being hateful...and I bold lettered and underlined : not here, so atleast get it right....Anyways you should watch the show we're "jizzing" over because it's that good and the animation is the best I've seen in years...1000x better than Bleach obviously (Not that Bleach sucks in the animation department), but better than anything I've seen in a loooooong time...To say their are "plenty of animes" (like you said) with better production than ep 1 of proxy is pure fallacy...you couldn't name 5 right now...I consider GITS 1st and 2nd gig to have the best production OVERALL that I've seen (in a series) in the last 5 years atleast...Ergo Proxy's first ep is on par if not considerably better IMO...
This thread will mean nothing by tommorrow when the 1 hr Bleach ep airs so the offtopicness is whateverness...You not impressed don't watch I'd say...We won't be missing out that's for sure...
