Let's face it, sometimes when we watch anime, we can tell that the anime will end up as crap. Or sometimes there's something in it that annoys you to no end. Or something. Basically a factor that makes you feel that it's not worth watching, etc etc.

Yet for some reason, you watch it to the end despite it's horrendous problems. The rabid fangirlism/fanboyism, the 'mark' in you makes it tolerate all it's problems for something you just cannot miss in the mountain of garbage.

The "One" Factor.

I don't want to hear something like "for completions sake", or "just to see how bad it'll suck in the end or "faithful to the franchise" kind of stuff, else most people here will just name GSD. Seriously, for animes like that, just read spoilers. There's no need to go ahead and rant how it'll make you puke, etc etc etc etc. I'm not pointing fingers, but if there's really nothing in an anime that draws you to continue enjoying it, there's no point. I for one was entertained by GSD, so I don't really care. It made me laugh so much even when it's not trying to be funny.

For me, it's Yu-Gi-Oh. I find 90% of the anime to be horrible. The pacing, the needless flashbacks, the horrible inconsistent animation, the repetitive catchphrases, the lame characters, etc. It was horrible, especially the first filler. They made an anime about Ancient Egypt that revolves around the characters into one that revolves around protecting the world. Crap.

The only reason I watched it is because of....Seto Kaiba. That's the only reason I'll ever be thankful to the changes they made to the anime, simply because he's given MUCH MUCH more spotlight.

You watch Yu Gi Oh. Hah.
Wow...thanks for that. Grow up, geez.

I'm not sure if this really counts, but I couldn't really stand that kid Al from Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket. He pissed me off to no end. Although, based on the synopsis of the show from AniDB, I did want to keep watching the show to find out what happened to Bernie and Chris. I found the ending good and it redeemed the show a little imho, but I will never watch it again simply because of Al.

But in terms of what you're saying...I guess Beyblade can kind of fit into that category for me. Though I don't watch much TV if any nowadays, I find I occasionally see Beyblade on. And while, like Yu-Gi-Oh!, the premise is somewhat recycled over and over and over again, I find myself watching it mainly because of Kai. I really want to see him beat Tyson one day...I mean, in terms of Yu-Gi-Oh!, even Kaiba beat Yugi once, even if it was because he threatened to jump off the top of a castle if he lost...a win's a win.

Another one that kinda fits is Pokémon...I watched that show for so long even though each episode was basically the same (travelling, meet a new person and maybe their pet pokémon, Team Rocket tries to steal Pikachu and/or other pokémon, they battle or something, TR loses, everybody but TR is happy, Ash & co. go back on their way). Only the gym battles and when Ash finally competed in the Johto (I think it was Johto) League were there any real difference from the normal episodes. Regardless, I kept watching...up to a point. Again, like with Beyblade (and Yu-Gi-Oh!), I used to watch them but not so much anymore because I hardly watch any TV anymore, and I don't feel like looking for them online... =p
