does anyone know the differences between the naruto game for gamecube and the one for ps2?
different games... completly different games..
To be more specific, the style of the Naruto Gamecube game (old one) is more of a 3d fighter with somewhat generic controls ( i.e. move around, do a certain motion with a certain amount of power on the gauge to pull off a special move), great cell-shading artwork, which leans towards the anime and some unique special moves (such as iruka's ones with the ninja stars)
I hear the later version coming up has a couple more new guys (hinata and neji I think) as well as a four player team/battle royal. Looks like something to look forward too.
As far as the Ps2 one is concerned... the animation style leans towards a hybrid of the anime and the manga (If you've seen some of the video you know what I mean). I hear that the fighting set up is similar to a 'Powerstone' style of fighting, with the exception that it's not fully 3d. More like a 2d stage towering upwards with 3d platforms on each level or so.
There is a lot of room for motion (at least from the couple of stages I've seen). And there are quite a few more characters. A week or so ago before the forums' database was wiped a guy posted a lot (if not all) of the special moves doable in Narutimate hero. And they were jaw-droppingly impressive. Each of the main characters has at least 4 basic moves and a few of the moves have 3 or 4 variations.
They show the three phases of Naruto's frog summoning... Tadpole... small frog... and Gamabunta. They even have this hardcore super where gamabunta gets summoned in a moonlight silhouette and a flash of the Fourth's face comes across the screen and it engages the other guy (It gave me shivers for a good 20 secs afterwards)
Even Sakura has one pretty impressive special believe it or not... but I'm not going to tell ya. you're going to have to find the video or get the game yourself.
