Please remember that there will be no episode of Bleach next week. Episode 71 will not air until March 7.
Was not bad, but again just a filler. With Rukia back in school before the original story I wonder how it will all work out.
I actually like the idea of Ichigo having to work for Bankai on earth, but those ghetto vampires and their pesudo german summonings just don't seem dangerous or entertaining.
well... maybe it will help. "Zeige Dich Original Storyline!"

i was hoping there would be a rushed ending to the 'original story' arc in epi 70 since rukia came back and all... but things were not to be.
but bounds sound kinda interesting.
the drawings are quite really bad, arent they? *points at the close up of rukia's face and runs away*
as long as rukia is back im happy, I actually found my self enjoying the episodes before the 20's just because rukia was there.
Yep, i liked this episode.. reminded me alot of the pre-SS days. Ririn is growing on me and she is a much better character while in her plushie. Rukia sure seemed to love the Cloud guy in bunny plushie form :heh:
Anyone else notice that at the end of episode 69 Ichigo couldn't get up and was stuck resulting in Rukia having to save him. But in 70 he gets up with relative ease? :confused:
Kind of hard to believe that these bounto have been around for so long and the Soul Society people don't know much about them.

Actually I like Rukia in this way,in school uniform or a skirt with a plain white shirt. That's what should Rukia looks like.

He still has quincy blood in him even though his powers are gone. When Rukia lost her powers and was fighting that Hollow with Chad, i believe the hollow said she still smelt/felt like a shiginami, or something like that.
I suppose when a singer gets laryngitis, they still are technically a singer.

I wasn't exhilarated by this episode. Even if I am a defender of the anime against mangaphiles, the episode was quite subpar for me. If anybody observed, the characters seemed disproportionate - I mean, Rukia doesn't look like that, come on.
Although it is unavoidable that Bleach will have more than 100 episodes, I still hope they can compress and compact the story well within that number. The sign of an anime deteriorating is when they surpass the 100 episode mark and still show no sign of closure.
Good anime usually end around 100 episodes. Touch, Yu Yu Hakusho, Galaxy Express 999 ended in a number higher than 100 but close to it. Still, they tell a poignant and enlivening story. Maison Ikkoku did it in 90-something, and Rurouni Kenshin did it in 94 (?).
When you push your luck, as what Naruto did, you'll have an immense share of fillers that eventually it would be boring for the viewers if there was still no plot development even after a whole season (26 episodes).

70 was a good one (okay a filler is a filler but it could be more badly. I only say: Naruto :) :) ). What I donīt like is to see Ishida so weak. It makes me sick. :(
I quite liked this episode, especially with the funny scenes with Rukia hugging Cloud-san and then Rukia holding her new "memory eraser". :heh: Also the camera focus on *ahem* Orihime's and Rukia's certain body parts in comparison when they went back to school. Ishida may have lost his powers but he's still the smarter member of the group. Perhaps he will find a way to defend himself or regain some of his powers in some way so he won't be so defenseless?
didn't quite live up to the hype built in ep 69..that's all i'm complaining..
also, the white-haired vampired dude, he looked a whole lot more sinister in the ed.. the cartoon he looks a bit..how should i say this..bishie?

Well it had to happen :innocent: hehe....Episode 70 was the first episode of the new arc that dissapointed me...The reason being was that nothing really happened...In addition to nothing happening, Rukia's whole intrusion seems to be forced...I don't really understand it...I mean ep 69 ended awesome with her jumping outta nowhere to save Ichigo, but after she entered the picture (with a pretty funny scene of her loving Cloud and Kon's reaction to that XD) her whole reason for being there just felt meaningless...Like they did it just to do it (which they did, but it still seemed unsettling)...
Then the Bound guy whose power looked pretty cool at first, when he faced the gang again his abilities seemed so gay...I was like WTF he turns concrete and plushie-straps into snakes? He must have more than this...He better...The female bounds skill totally PWNs his when it comes to visual enjoyment...
This ep was pretty funny in spots...Gotta love the chick with glasses whose application to yuri yuri academy is prolly in the mail :p ...But overall this ep seemed rather cheezy at times and didn't really build upon the the momentum of last week...So there i actual am being critical of a "new-arc" episode...I love the fact they're back in school and can have those type of comedic confrontations at the same time fighting evil, but it should feel more natural than this episode (less forced)...Rukia coming back still just seems "whatever"-ish when it should feel compelling...
BTW anybody kinda dissapointed Tasuki doesn't have a bigger role in this anime? She seems like an interesting harem character at the very least...Plus she has a kick-a$$ side too (In that scene where she looked worried about Ichigo, I wanted to just jump into the screen and console her for being so left out in this anime)...I hope at some point she joins the main-cast...and Shinigami golden was uber silly....I hope next episode returns to making the arc seem serious despite the great comedy...

-They're attacking Ishida now because they're interested on how the soul of a Quincy tastes? Christ, give this poor guy a break. He's impotent! Probability being, no matter how hard the vamp will try to suck, it's not like Ishida will be able to stand up to give it to him. Plus, Ishida has an white uniform on. - He isn't going to want to get it dirty.

The episode was alright, it wasn´t bad but it wasn´t great either. But the quality overall is still far, far better than Naruto fillers... Kon always makes me feel good though. :D
Next episode seems like it will be better, judging from the preview.
The new baddies bore me with their excessive talking but Rukia glomping Cloud was the BEST. XD
But the biggest question: Where the F**K did Ruki stay during the night!? They never answered that! And I thought they'd expand more on her displeasure with Ririn there-like she's taking her place? XD

I usually CAN handle all types of anime, be they romance, drama, science-fiction, comedy, murder - as long as they're interesting and even just somewhat intellectual, I can really watch it. I have no problem whatsoever with any topic dealt with, as long as it is dealt with from a doctor's point of view: with scalpel-like sharpness and objectivity. (I watched Koi Kaze, and it was great.)
I've never been bored with a Bleach episode before as well ... it seems that the fillers are taking its toll on cohesive and intellectual storytelling. I mean, Hanatarou? Come on, guys, if you're going to make a filler arc (okay, so admittedly it is better than Naruto, but EVERYTHING's better than Naruto) at least make it smooth and magical ... and interesting.
I am seriously trying to find anime that are ... *shudders* ... OMG ... I'm starting NOT to like Bleach, despite being a fanboy.

Filler episodes are always kind of cheasy but i dont think bleach is going to go the path of naruto. There has been some good to the fillers so far such as giving incentive for ichigo to get his bankai back, also ishida clearly needs his powers back.

Think of this: more than half of Naruto's episodes are filler. That's what I don't want happening to Bleach that it really is approaching -- quickly. The animation also has gone down scarily from last week's episode ... :upset:
One good thing about Bleach is that although it has fillers, it has a story. The fillers have plot, but most importantly, the fillers have plot development, which has invited me and kept me from dropping the show altogether.
Simple relationships, even if shown only in the Shinigami Golden shorts, contribute to the development of characters in the story. An example is that we now know that Soi hasn't lost faith and adoration in Yoruichi ... that she was troubled because of her absence. That is affirmed by her offering Yoruichi a valentine card.
These small things make Bleach still eminently watchable. (I don't say it's eminently good or excellent, though.)
why is everyone comparing Bleach with naruto??
Naruto doesn't have a storyline as far as i am concerned. The characters NEVER develop into anything (i.e. Naruto still uses the stupid kage bunshin everytime there is a fight). It is just not comparable. so stop comparing to naruto...
This arc is gonna be interesting because we still have to see what these Bounts can do. It'll be good training for Ichigo. He'll probably regain his powers through this arc.
^ He definitely will... And I bet he's gonna release his Bankai over the white haired guy later to conclude his training in this arc >.>

Geez, even Orihime showed happiness to see Rukia, as well as renji the looser-lover. Nothing from Ichigo and it's quite surprising, especially since she's the girl who "makes the rain stop in his heart"

The thing which actually really bothers me isnt so much that these are filler episodes but more so that Ichigo is having so much trouble with these new enemies. Over the coarse of the series Ichigo has fought against and defeated some of the strongest fighters in the whole bleach universe and yet he is having so much trouble against some second rate filler villains. In soul society he learns shunpo among other things and even without his bankai he should be stronger than these guys and yet none of that comes into play here. Its like a whole new series and none of the stuff learnt before has anything to do with what happens here.

i see everyone complaining but the way i see it i watched every single episode of ranma 1/2; fillers from this or even naruto aren't even bad... sides, it's still funny and clever enough at moments to keep you watching... if you got complete action and weird plot twists every episode there'd be no point; they gotta take it easy every now and then.

I haven't watch Naruto far enuf to know if it gets bad or not. I just finished Tsunade's arc. I'm not sure how it turns out later but so far Bleach and Naruto getting the same rating from me. (10/10 of course).

I thought about the powers of the Bound, its more like illusions to fool the enemy into thinking that it is real. By turning any object into a snake by using your imagination is an illusion right? Once a snake is defeated, it turns into its normal form e.g A pipe. :confused:
I wonder what the rest of you think of these bound powers.

The prime highlight for this filler season is nonetheless the super score of the new soundtrack.
The score played at the very end of the episode when Jin comments that the end is just starting sounded gothic akin with organ + synthetisizer arrangements.
I'm wondering if this new soundtrack was composed and arranged exclusively for the Bount arc or will also be presented on the next arc of the anime that follows on the manga storyline.

I don't think Bleach will go as far as DBZ went with power levels. So far the series power levels have been quite spectacular and entertaining. When it comes to Power levels, when does the rest of the gang improve their powers?!!? :frustrated:
I agree with Ishida figuring out the bount's illusional powers, though i would not be surprised if Ishida is one of the keys to helping Ichigo getting his bankai to work in the real world. :cool:

True, Bleach is one of the few animes where i can just happily sit through the intro song; more than that it's a song i would totally have in my mp3 player (along with the rest of the musical comp. of the episodes). More props to this series.
so how many week's can this filler go for? I thought it was "supposed" to end after episode 68-69, like 3 week's ago.

That was just an assumption that certain people made based on the "evidence" of upcoming episode titles. Clearly they were mistaken. I don't expect it to end for quite a while based on the number of characters that I expect to be appearing in this filler.
Nobody involved with creating the anime has said anything about the length of the filler. At least, not that we are aware of. If that changes, you can expect to see it as the title of a thread created by somoeone eager to spread the news. There will then be three more threads created by other people who are all convinced that nobody could have posted it before them. I'll merge them all. Then people will be breaking this news for the next two weeks. All of them excited to be the first.

Although I suspect, based on the fact that we know it will take one year for captain Aizen to develop the powers of hougyoku, that we won't see much of a story to begin with. So, we might as well get used to the idea that we'll be seeing fillers until that time comes. whenever that is.

Bleach Fillers are not so bad, just give the animators the time to make another great new Arc! Thats the beauty of anticipation. Once the fillers are done, we can sit at the edge of our seats and enjoy the show! By the time the new arc begins, we won't even be bothered by the previous fillers. :D
So lets enjoy the fillers and build up the hype for the new arc! :heh:

Most Probably :) , but for some other odd reason in the back of my mind, :eyespin: it has something to do with illusion since he uses his *imagination* to turn it into a snake. But then again, we just have to wait and see. :)

Nobody knows. Though, once there is an annoucement, you can be certain that at least 5 different people will post that news in 5 brand new threads over the course of two weeks.
Shay: What's wrong with this "filler" anyway? If not for the people who keep saying this is a filler because they read the manga, I would not know it either way. Call me non-observant (and that's true :heh:) but I do not see much of a difference in animation quality over the last few episodes. Perhaps the only indication of a filler (after reading about all the episode comments) is the waste of time seeing Ichigo and the others running around playing the so-called "game". I do not mind seeing this story finish. Plus there's that cute scene of Rukia huggling Cloud-san that I keep remembering. :D

The only frustrating thing for me right now is when the series will end. 100 episodes? 200? I prefer short series, like 26 episodes, but ever since I was drawn into watching Bleach (due to the IRC anime party we had over a year ago) I want to see it till the end. I do not care if the anime will follow the manga, but as long as it is not excessively long and long-winded then I'm happy with the way it is.

I'm impressed with this filler ark so far. (But that's also coming from someone who tolerates every naruto filler thrown his way so it might not be saying much.)
I think the smartest thing the storywriters did was limit Ichigo's use of Bankai. Now those who watch the fillers will have something else to look foward too-Anticipating when Ichigo is going to use banaki....again. lol

Getting permission isn't out of the question. I think. It's not like any other Shinigami is gonna help with this, unless Rukia actually steps in... which prolly still won't make that big of a difference either.

didn't kuchiki taicho said it's too early for renji to use his bankai in battle?
so that settles it then i guess.. even renji can't use his bankai effectively to make a difference in the battle on earth.

I think Kira_Naruto summed up the answer nicely. Renji does indeed posess the knowledge to unleash his Bankai, and he'd probably want to if the situation really became intense (despite being unable to fully control it). But it's impossible because most of his power has been sealed while he's in the real world.

they can release bankai in limited mode, the power of the bankai simply isn't as great. releasing the limiter just allows them to use their full power, bankai isn't out of the question with a limiter.

What i want to know is when the rest of Ichigo's crew gets their powers back in action? I wonder if any of them will greaten their powers in the upcoming episodes. Would be nice to see Chado Yasutora increase his strength and possibly gain new power, since he was defeated in Soul Society by a Captain. What about Inoue Orihime and her Fairy friends? i am sure she is not there just to look pretty!
You want him to Bankai in the physical world? I'm pretty sure they have rules against doing that without permission. They seem to have rules against everything else...
Well,.. for being a kids show, you might be right.
Getting permission isn't out of the question. I think. It's not like any other Shinigami is gonna help with this, unless Rukia actually steps in... which prolly still won't make that big of a difference either.
Though with Renji and Ichigo, as to who gets theirs first will only end up in an threesome battle. Not that I mind anyway.

Episode 70, around 16:43, Ishida is sitting under a tree reading a book... but who cares about that though, the fence behind him is barbed wire? Huh? Anyone have an idea as to why the school would have a barbed wire fence?(If a mod thinks this should be merged with the main episode 70 thread, please go ahead).
Come on guys, someone around here has to have insider information on Japanese schools (and the presense of barbed wire fences therein).
