According to the official website the voice of Karen Ichijou will change in the new season of School Rumble. Yuuka Nanri had to give up her role due to scheduling conflicts. She is replaced by Mako, famous for her performance as Yurie Hitotsubashi in Kamichu! [ discuss ]

Nooooooooooooo! There goes the adorable voice that fit Karen!

Although, the person who did Yurie did an excellent job as well...

i was looking around for other work that tenma's voice actor did and there wasnt very much, i was surprised. her voice and animation make a huge impact on this show. i read the comic recently and it really pales in comparison to the anime. the animation is very fluid and seems to be one of MFI's better works.

Ami Koshimizu? IMO, she belongs to a very rare class of seiyuu. The one who nails the role right on the very first try [for Nadja]. Helps that throughout SR she displays a number of voices and modes [like when she was delivering her Love arrows in season 1 :heh:], so it's pretty clear the girl has range.

Amazingly enough, she is co-starred with a pair of VA who also "got" the characters from the start. Hitomi Nabatame [Tsukihime's Arcuide] as classic tomboy Mikoto and Kaori Shimizu [Lain] as the ever observant Akira. SR had one of the best ensemble VA performances last year IMO and they look set to continue into 2006.

I agree with you 100%. The actors were casted into their destined characters. But I don't feel comfortable with the new voice actress for Ichijou Karen. Karen's voice is just not right with the new voice actor.

YUI!!! I always end up having crushes on Yui's characters, first Naru Narusegawa now Eri. There's something about her sweet little voice. No more Scramble in season 2, ahh! The new song is ok, I really enjoyed the trance version in ep 6.

Tenma is so energetic and such a peppy voice. Good voice cast, even if Harima and Hanai do sound 25

Karen's new seiyuu is alright. but true, she is ganbatte-ing.
But, i think the best seiyuu is tenma's. excellent job. she makes the show.
and of course, everyone else fits so perfectly.

i LOVE harima's voice like no other. he always sounds hilarious!! he could sound so mean as a tough-guy, so nice when he's in tenma-mode ("defense...defense..." from ep9), and sooo hilarious when he's in wtf?! mode....

and not many people seemed to like his character songs, but i loved them... LOVED LOVED LOVED "kun he kazi ni notte"!!

funny to think that he used to play impmon on digimon tamers...his voice was so chibi sounding in that show...

I feel bad for Lala's seiyuu, because of all the screaming that she does :heh: I dunno. Maybe it's just because I had just listened to her many works in the Negima series as Setsuna, a character who isn't quite as "gorilla-ish". In fact, she's quite a good singer. Even during the live Negima concert, she did well.

About Ichijou's seiyuu change...I knew there was something different about her voice the second time around. Not that it has much to do with the new seiyuu, but I'm not too fond of that "Tonight is such a graceful crescent moon..." song :p

In the end, I don't have any complaints about the cast. I really like how they can pull off all the characters' different emotions and moods (especially for Imadori and Harima).

Harima is definitely my most favorite character in School Rumble. His seiyuu is flexible enough to bring across the different sides of Harima's character.

Oh how true that is. I think it would still be worth watching... just it would be half as good. I like all of the voice actors except for most of the new ones... I really don't think that they are adding much to the show except taking away time from the good characters.

i couldn't agree with you more. with every new school rumble episode that comes out, i'm just hoping and praying that it will deal with the main characters from season 1 instead of the new ones like asou, lala, etc.

Slightly off topic but: for anyone who games, if you've played any Dead or Alive did you know Eri-chan's voice is the same as Hitomi's (Yui)? I miss DOA since I sold it for my Xbox--is it remaining exclusively with Microsoft? I'd like to hear more of that voice, best voice and she was my fav character even before I knew. I guess I just liked that voice (Naru too), although her character was fun too. Anyway this is remotely related to SR/Eri and seiyuu appreciation...kinda

I had first heard Noto Mamiko in the first season of Sukuran when I watched it earlier this year, and since then, I have unexpectedly heard her in a number of other anime: Mai HiME/Otome, Mahou Sensei Negima, Shakugan no Shana, and Solty Rei.

I think she does a great job, and she'll always be a voice that I'll always be able to recognize.

Hirano Aya (a.k.a. Suzumiya Haruhi VA) is going to VA Yuko Sasakura, replacing the old VA.

So Haruhi fans out there, this might be worth hearing :D

I don´t know, maybe the seiyuu exaggerates the mexican accent to create a more comical character. However I think it´s not a mexican accent, I think they want to emphasize that she´s so rough

Not only does the voice actor have to play her usual unique Lala role, but she has to affect her voice in such a way to sound Tenma-ish. It came out all wrong :heh: I have to say though that that was kawaii, but very funny nevertheless.

If you have watched Muteki Kanban Musume, did you know that Tenma's seiyuu and Mikoto's seiyuu played the rivals, Megumi and Onimaru Miki respectively?

I am impressed by Tenma's seiyuu because I have seen 3 of the animes that had characters that she voiced and none of them sounded even half alike. I was a little shocked to find out that Tenma = Megumi = Nina.

Lala's seiyuu is pretty parallel to most of her roles as well, being very polite and soft-spoken. It surprises me whenever she acts out those forceful roles (I recall she voiced the rambunctious Sharry from Itsudatte My Santa last year).

Koshimizu is voicing the mysterious Ritsuko in Kujibiki Unbalance this season; she sure is versatile!

most of anime that i watch hab good seiyuuuu un like english dub >.>
i learn to apreciate japanese seiyuu after i watch english dub (of any anime),
and i think even if karen's changed , we just say it doesnt fit her because we're so used to hearing her old voice.
so les give her a chance for a while xD

Sorry if this is in the wrong post or even if this has been mentioned before but i just noticed that the Seiyuu for Akira Takano (Kaori Shimizu) is also the same person who originally provided the vocals to the song Psycho Soldier for the arcade game also known as Psycho Soldier.

The significance being that Psycho Soldier was the very first video game ever with a vocal in-game soundtrack, where talking way back in 1985/6!

I highly recommend you listen to the KOF94 arranged soundtrack version here (http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/474/9), i'm not 100% sure if this actually is Kaori Shimizu singing in this version (it kinda sounds like her from the original version) but it's the best version every made.

hm, but honestly, every voice really fitted in! and the voices I really liked too were the male voices! I don't know why but they really fitted the characters very very good!

Been a fan of Mamiko Noto's voice ever since and Harima's voice actor Hiroki Takahashi. One reason why I like Harima's voice actor because I've been a StreetFighter fan and he did the voice of Ryu in StreetFighter IV!!! and the lesser known Capcom game Tatsunoko VS Capcom where old school anime like G-force, Kashern...etc VS various Capcom game cast.

Hmm...Kurumu x Harima in StreetFighter IV ova eh...err...I mean Sakura x Ryu. Can you imagine Ryu now and Harima? :heh:

Karin and Sakura's finishers are pretty much not Ki based like Ryu and Ken's and Karin was not originally a Capcom character not until Capcom canoned her storyline in the Sakura Ganbanru manga.

Eri though NEVER had a laugh like those rich blond girls. Yui Horie or Eri VA is now voicing this girl.

I loved all the VA. Specially: Harimas, Mikotos, Sawachikas, Lalas, Yakumos, Hanais etc etc
They all acted out their role perfectly - I love to hear their voices in SR. They also shine in changing between the over the top screaming and the soft voices, eg Eri's voice especially.

But I never noticed Eri's VA also sung the great guruguru opening .. until I read it in a forum XD''

I loved all the VA. Specially: Harimas, Mikotos, Sawachikas, Lalas, Yakumos, Hanais etc etc
They all acted out their role perfectly - I love to hear their voices in SR. They also shine in changing between the over the top screaming and the soft voices, eg Eri's voice especially.

But I never noticed Eri's VA also sung the great guruguru opening .. until I read it in a forum XD''

So she did had a laugh, forgot about that and I thought she'd be different from the other blond rich girls, it took season2 to give of a laugh in 3 seconds and yes rich girls always have a butler or a nanny. :heh:

Her voice actress has a rather special voice - doesn't fit that many characters.

Eri's voice is pretty easy recognizable in 'Love Hina' as Naru.... BUT I still can't hear it's her voicing Tohru in 'Fruits Basket', not matter how hard I try XD. Her voice is so different :/
... Looking at her joblist again .... she's even in Dead or Alive? XD Never noticed lol

That's actually the only roles I recognized her as the same actress.
Whenever she is voicing another character I never notice it's her until I read it ... exampes:

Kanako (Natsu no Arashi)
Minori (Toradora .. I only noticed her singing in the outro x_x)
Tohru (fruits basket)
Hitomi (Dead or Alive)

She's a real talent ... she can do pretty much any character and alter her voice to match the character perfectly.
And I'm pretty good at recognizing the voices of actors normally xD

Going through her list of works (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yui_Horie) .. she's pretty much everywhere lol Even so I haven't watched most of them.
