which Street Fighter Games did you think was the best out of them all and why?

street fighter 2 turbo
its balanced, has no supers, no flash
NOTE: Do not confuse this with super street fighter 2 turbo. that one is just average.
second place is street fighter zero 3
its balanced, has lots of characters, different gauges
third place is the street fighter EX series:
3d, innovative, solid
.... fill in any others
Love SF3:3S. It's a tad more balanced than most SF's out there. It also has the awesome parrying (even if I'll never get used to parrying. Even more with red parrying x.x)
IIRC, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo was pretty fun to play. But, of course, everyone knows that Killer Instinct rocked the world. :D
street fighter 2 turbo
its balanced, has no supers, no flash
I'll back that one.
From what I've seen, SFIII is a popular series still. It seems challeging to play with the parry system and etc...
The last game that involved SF I've probaby really played was one of the "vs" crossovers like Marvel Vs Capcom or Capcom vs SNK series.
But if its strictly SF, then I would have to say I spent the most time on either Street Fighter II on SNES or Alpha series.
Street fighter alpha 3 for the PS was the best original (non super power crazy) street fighter. X-men vs Street fighter was the best "super powered" street fighter game.

Street Fighter III: Third Strike is, in my opinion, the best fighting game ever. EVER. Not only does it compile all of the best traits of the previous Street Fighters and the DarkStalkers series, it adds the parrying system and a whole crapload of awesome characters! Remy...ahhh! *swoon*
Strret Fighter Alpha 3. It feels a lot like CvS, and I seem to like that kind of fighting\playing style a lot.

of the original SF games i'd say plain old Street Fighter 2. out of the vs games, i'd have to go with (and some will probably assault me for this) Capcom VS SNK2.
3rd strike. Simple, yet really deep gameplay.
other than that...Street Fighter 2 Turbo. Good gameplay, better nostalgia. Alpha 3 is good, too.

3rd strike is my vote.
Although if you include the crossovers, then the most fun I've ever had with a fighting game would be SNK vs Capcom2.
I also have a soft spot for Alpha 2 and 3.
Most fun: Alpha 3
Just a blast to play, but there are just a few things that throw the balance off like crouch cancels, and Akuma's "I have a VC for any situation that does 50% of your health bar".
Overall best: Toss up between SF2T, and SSF2T
I enjoy the old school feel fo Hyper Fighting, but Super Turbo had a great mix of old school and a hint of new school feel to it.
Note worthy games, but not quite as good as the ones mentioned above:
SF3: TS a great new school SF game. X-Men vs Street Fighter - infinite craziness. Vampire Saviour - not SF, but an incredibly fun game.

i prefer super II over just plain turbo. olde school is fine, but needs more variety.
of course alpha II or MVC2 are my favorites.

I'd prefer the old old Street Fighter II The World Warrior on the SNES.

Street Fighter 2 is a favourite but I also love Capcom VS SNK, if that counts.

I loved Street fighter 2, and capcom vs snk, capcom vs snk was my choice. Only Because at my local playtime , i own all the noobs :D....then some guy just ebats me...but its fun and flowy.
I would have to say its a tie between Street Fighter 3rd Strike and Super Street Alpha3. Only because I like the original SF characters, but I like the gameplay of 3rd strike the best.

For me i'd say Third Strike ... the whole parry system totally slowed the game down making it more technical. I kinda like the fact where u start off doing nonstop combos then when u meet better people who parry or counter your combo or moves you have to step your game up to another level.
Hmmm.... i think SF3 or Zero 3 the first one has the best animations and smoothest gameplay and the second is the most complete game of them all. The Ex series where go but the 2d versions where better althrough Ex3 is still the best of the Ex series.

Street Fighter Alpha, has the best design of characters
Street Fighter Alpha 3, on Dreamcast.
World Tour was the most fucking awesome mode in a console 2d fighting game ever. This mode added with the others just pumped up its replayability value.
Guilty Gear Isuka tried it with the "Build your own Robo-Ky", but was not that successful. Not to mention that Isuka was kind of a joke.

I preferred Alpha 3. Most characters, lots of options, good balance, 2 on 1 mode, good 2D graphics for the time and one of the few final bosses in a fighting game that is challenging without being cheap and taking far too little damage. Second up would probably be Third Strike by just a small margin and only because it's just about the most balanced fighter I've ever played. Even Gill is not that bad for a Final Boss, but still more cheap than Shin Vega in Alpha 3.

I say, screw balance and technicalities... I want as many characters to play around with as possible. As such, MvC2 and CvSNK2 would be top of my list by a large margin...
But considering those aren't technically just Street Fighter, I guess I'll settle for Alpha 3. Though 3rd strike does gets some points for me, considering grapplers are actually good for once lol.
I would like to say...SF2 Rainbow Edition.
Who said Akuma had the first air fireball in the series? :heh:
On a serious note, I would say Alpha 3.
