Since Arika is the main character and her moral is to believe in your dream in order to make them come true, maybe it's more fitting for her to sing it? :( I wonder if it will be good? One more month to go, it's killing me.

From my somewhat weak-ass translation skills this new crisis has to do with Meteors befalling the planet, which explains shots of what appear to be Otomes in space. Other than that I can't read most of what the official site says.:confused:

They don't even need to magically bring back the HiME Star and their childs, they could just do it about life after the incident. Hell, they left the relationships pretty much unresolved, they could do something with that. I don't know, I guess I might just like HiME that much more.

I would love to see what happened afterwards. There was so much that was left unfinished, or I wouldn't mind seeing some of the other HiMEs backstories, like Shizuru and Akira.

Both parts for me.
Shindou Sempai's Cagalli-Chan voice conveys kindness and honesty, while her Shizuru voice conveys warmth and sensuality. ;)

Same here. Well, you have to admit the song was good. Well, chances are by the time someone acutally posts it, and chances are they either will or won't will give people chance. I noticed that there haven't been an "raws" around for it. Not even so much as a smidgen! Oh well. But I hope that the series will tie up some things. I'll say one thing the 'Mai' series turned out to be be one of 'Sunrise's new big baby. So much so that it got an OVA to back it up. More "fanservice" only with a budget. Hahaha!! And action I hope there's action. :p

Actually the outfit called 1.5 was in the series. It was only shown toward the end. It was during that part where 'Arika' was trying to hoist the giant sunflower on 'Mashiro's castle.
I found this funny because when I saw the damn suit on the site I was like, "I never saw that!" But it was there.
I'm a little bit crazy 'Arika' and a little bit 'mom'. :p

Indeed, Mashiro do seems abit more mature than ever before, lets just hope that goes for Arika as well. Personally, I dont like seeing her in the 1.5 version, but rather like the True Blue Sapphire Robe just like her mother ^_^. It'll be definitely worth watching this OVA/or (season:uhoh:) when Arika puts on the Sapphire robe to fight =).

CM always occurred to me as commerical. What does it really stand for? :heh: It will be out on DVD on November 24. Not sure if they plan to air it on TV at all since this is an OVA.

If they're incredibly devoted and have no other school work or whatnot to do, it might take a day. But that's probably just wishful thinking. :heh: But they do need to translate, time, edit, or whatever. Since it's only one episode, I don't think it will take too long.

No, the planet where Mai Otome occurs is Earth in the future. Something like 200+ years in the future after HiME occurs.

No, there is no solid proof of that. Everyone in the show says they're not on Earth, so until someone says otherwise, the appearance of Fuuka Gakuen or not, it is NOT Earth.

I'm sorry, but theories are just theories, nowhere has it been stated in My-Otome that the planet they're on is Earth, in fact they merely state they emigrated to the planet from Earth. There is nothing to debate about, until a character states that Earl IS Earth, I have no reason to believe that it is, no matter what theory you throw at me.

Not to mention that nuclear radiation will make nearly anything interesting. :D
I'll hold out that it's suppose to be Earth that they're on only because the chances of finding another planet close to this one with nearly identical sun and moon formations is less plausible than saying that after a major nuke World War III, survivors were shipped up into space stations and they waited there for the world to de-toxify itself before coming back down to a 'New World' so to speak - a new 'Colonization Era.' If they are starting over, calling Earth a new name isn't so out of place.
To prevent such things from happening again, the Otome System was put into place by Fumi so that the world leaders would think twice about nuking everything again.
That's my take on it.

The animation's designs have nothing to do with the manga designs as they are done by different character designers. Hisayuki, the original character designer is *still* in charge of the animated adaptation.
And if you caught a glimpse of the Zwei trailer, then you would have already known that they utilized Hisayuki's character designs once again. In fact the trailer *is* subtitled so you can probably find it in animesuki's download section.
PS: Hisayuki had nothing to do with the original manga designs, btw.

Not to mention that nuclear radiation will make nearly anything interesting. :D
I'll hold out that it's suppose to be Earth that they're on only because the chances of finding another planet close to this one with nearly identical sun and moon formations is less plausible than saying that after a major nuke World War III, survivors were shipped up into space stations and they waited there for the world to de-toxify itself before coming back down to a 'New World' so to speak - a new 'Colonization Era.' If they are starting over, calling Earth a new name isn't so out of place.
To prevent such things from happening again, the Otome System was put into place by Fumi so that the world leaders would think twice about nuking everything again.
That's my take on it.
I don't even know why this is being bought up. it has been said and noted many tiems in the anime (earl eps). That the planet Otome is on is NOT Earth but a planet call earl.
Pay more attentation next time you guys re-watch the series.

yeah, ovas arent' really worth it these days. it's just another episode, where as back then it was a mini-movie + fanservice (ie. nudity). zwei's only got 5.1 going for it really IMO.

Hmmm....nice observation. Perhaps she can still materialize because of the whole "break of contract" thingy that Miyu mentioned. They are able to materialize out of their own free will now. And I guess she decided to stay with her master along with Shiho. It doesn't sound all that odd since Chie is Haruka's subordinate so maybe Shiho is subordinate to Rosalie?? Who knows..

True, I'm just basing it on what I read from the website. And not all the otome in the world were actually sitting in the audience or at least seen. I for one would like to know what happened to the 3rd member of the trias that Shizuru and Haruka were part off.
Yes another mystery though you can clearly see her in the nostalgic picture that Natsuki was looking at and the Wotome Artbook when Shizuru and Haruka are in their lineup with the rest of their class...funny, she has dark hair and green eyes like Natsuki. I'm sure there's no relation though...but it would be funny if there was. Can you imagine Natsuki with an Oneechan? LOL...okay off track here...my mind is just overspeculating.

No the neko robe was a personlized thing I think. After all, Akane's robe *is* based on her Child, Hari.
Shiho's robe was based on her old Child as well....and a bit hideous at that but it does suit her I suppose...LOL

Probably because she never had a child to base it off of?...she wasn't eactly a featured character nor was Monica-Oneesama. The robes on the returning characters were personalized due to paying homage to the previous series. The rest of the characters that were not in Mai Hime do not have that luxury thanks to the artist, Hisayuki Hirokazu and color coordinator Sayoko Yokoyama. ^_^;

yeah it's pretty expensive. So it's good for diehard fans with decent amounts of money. Since I'm a collector (especially with anything Hisayuki related) I placed my order and opted for the limited edition.:heh:

If it's a Japanese business practice, I wouldn't try to find any logic or resemblance that would apply to a Western business practice in it, especially advertising. :/ And entirely different peoples and culture requires drastically different advertising. And besides, Japanese business is an archaic and usually inefficient mix of modern and old and heavily traditional practices.

I can die happy now that someone has said this. I think the releasing 4 months apart idea is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. It can fan a flame, but it can also burn it out . Otome was a dissapointment in the first place, now trying to drag out an OAV to get me excited has actually burnt out all excitement I have for it. I'll watch it of course in the weak hope it may actually shock me and be good, but I highly doubt it. The sooner they go back to HiME the better.

From what I could make out, #1 is saying that the Mai Otome Zwei manga will start in Champion Red on November 18th. That previous chapter was just a preview.
#3 is probably about a novel slated for release in February 2007. About 100 years ago, a Coral Otome named Hazakura Ayane saying she wants to be an Otome. New character design. I think that's what it says, please take it with a grain of salt! :heh: Can anyone confirm please?

It's not like the director is the same a string of other Sunrise anime such as Cowyboy Bebop, CityHunter, Banner of the Stars, Urusei Yatsura, Keroro Gunso, and even Yakitate Japan to name a few. Each one of these also have different directors but they all share one thing in common...they all belong to Sunrise.
If you want revenge you go after the director AND scriptwriter. Director for Otome and Hime was Masakazu Obara while screenplay for both was done by Hiroyuki Yoshino and partly by Tatsuyuki Nagai.
However if you just have a beef with Sunrise in general (which would be odd since they're more like an outsourcing production company) then focus your attention on the President Takayuki Yoshii.

As you probably guessed, I wasn't being entirely serious. ;) Rest assured, if I was going to take my scoped rifle and shoot the people responsible, I'd do the necessary research first to ensure I wasn't shooting 'innocent' people. :p The only series Sunrise's director gives a crap about is Gundam anyway, I doubt he cares much about the Mai-HiME Project, except how much money it is costing to make, and how much money it is making them. I've written a comment regarding Otome to Sunrise previously in some series poll somewhere, but since it isn't in Japanese, they will treat it like spam…
Quite honestly, I couldn't give a damn in hell how most anime studios work (Gainax being the major exception), and they almost certainly don't care how their international audience feels about anything. Why spend the time trying to talk to them when they will simply write you off as a non-Japanese speaking gaijin? Even if they decided to translate a comment, for whatever reason, chances are it would come out as incomprehensible gibberish that would mean as little to us as it would to them.
There are a lot of things about Otome that piss me off, for one, I consider it a wasted opportunity, and for another, a partial destruction and metaphorical rape of the characteristics and personalities of most of the characters we have come to love through HiME, and for a third and final one, a simple money-making sell-out that attempts to please an audience rather that give us any intellectual or interesting entertainment (considering the rather blatant lack of story or consistent plot, and the rather erratically shared character screen-time, oh yes, and simply the fact that someone like Arika is the lead). However, I’m not about to structure an argument on a forum; I’ll simply leave it at humorous jabs at the series.

I thought the older, Hime-generation characters were well done. Shino was given her own personality. Miyu's motivations was shifted from 'because someone else wants me to' to 'because I want to', which, in a crazy way, could be thought of as character development though it span across different series. The same can be said about Shizuru x Natsuki's relationship. Mai was placed as our 'untouchble', 'out-of-the-loop' entity and that suited her just fine, IMO. After everything that happened in Hime, the writers didn't need to fix her too much into the mess. Aoi was a huge improvement, namely because of that one scene.
So yeah, just curious.

Wow! You took the words right out of my mouth. That's *exactly* how I felt about the older cast of characters. I really liked the fact that she (Mai) was such an enigma and made you just constantly wonder about her. As for Shizuru and Natsuki, it came across exactly how I had imagined. They were comfortable with each ither and no sign of angst between them. To repeat something like that would just be redundant and pointless.
Nao became decent in my opinion. I could not even stand her in HIME because of her "Ko-Garu"-ness...yes I hate ko-gals...I have a cousin that's one. Seriously, I did grow weary of the whole "Poor me Poor me, I'm suffering and it's all your fault" syndrome in Hime....CRY ME A FUCKING RIVER." Regardless I still like HIME.
Otome had traces of that with Nina and Arika so yeah that was annoying. Those two were not exactly my favorite but I was happy that at least Arika got over her previous disposition.
I guess the reason I liked the Otome series is because it wasn't as angsty as the previous (Although I do adore Hime to no end)...too much angst is ridiculous and juvenile....geez...why do kids these days thirst for angst??:confused: Anyway, Hiroyuki Yoshino did exactly what he set out to do...he wanted to create a melodrama and he did. :)
Anyway, this series was a nice escape from reality...for me. That's just MY humble opinion....and really...i just watched the series to see glimpses of Shizuru and Natsuki...yes pathetic fangirl speaking.:heh: And I was treated to more than just a few cameos and glimpses. Being somewhat secondary characters I still got a plateful so I'm happy ^^.
Oh well...I didn't mean to interrupt. That's pretty much all that is coming out of me. I'll just continue to rewatch the series until the OVAs come out. Placed my order awhile ago so I'm definitely looking forward to it's arrival...YAY!

May I remind you that Black Valley's location can change, as shown in ep 25 when it showed up in the middle of the desert outside of Windbloom. Ofcourse, we have no idea how it works, although it is assumeably part of Mikoto's power.

...Well I'm a fan, and I'm happy with how they turned out. Whats wrong with slightly changing a character to suit the fans? The show is FOR the fans. Kind of like serving a meal your guests would like because they're your guests. Or you can stubbournly stick to your favourite meal and rip your eyes out if they say they dont like it.

I for one liked the Otome anime story. Many of us didnt like the lack of fighting and fight teasers they threw our way. Other things I didnt like was Arika's stupidity, and her character design. They shouldve made her into a mini-Rena Sayers. I remember reading that the artist liked that design. That wouldve given him a chance to use it.

That means the ANiDB description is inaccurate. According to their summary its 6 months later, the corals are now pearls, Irina tries to bring back Erstin, and the black valley goes to war with Smith's group.

Is there a larger scan to see the words? What I'm interested in is the "Materialize-Zwei" blurb at the bottom. It seems like Arika will get a new sequence, or perhaps, an instant materialize sequence instead of the usual footage judging from the picture.
