Ah so its out. Which means more time for it to be subbed I thought it'd be out today. All the better. Gotta get more subbers on the series. They tend to get competitive for the title of better/speedier subber and that leads to faster releases.

It blows not understanding sufficient japanese to see a raw.

aye me 2, waiting for subbed ep 1 since my jap is in newbie class category *Limited* LOL, boiled AMG season 1 in 3 days lol ><, i know this anime is from the manga, any idea on how many eps this season two may have?

another question, i have seen this series has different arcs, how many r there and what are they? i only watched AMG TV , so can someone gime advices on where to watch it from? OVA-->movie-->mini goddess-->TV series perhaps?

A pity there are no 2chan links for AMG2. It was really cool to see pics of the Mai-Otome raws. Would be nice here too. Im a bit wary of the places the raws come from or whats on them so I dont DL them often. I dont know enough japanese to understand it fluidly either so it'd be kinda pointless.

There is a 2chan page for AMG, though I still don't know how to find it on the channel. My friend had given me the link for episode one while it was aired.

I found a couple of strange moments in it. My first question is why Rind, who is initially a warrior, does the administrative works?

The second question, while I'm talking about the Heavens, is why Kami-sama Himself is talking to Keiichi? I don't think it was necessary.

Next. Belldandy. Well, I've never been her fan, but as she is a First Class Goddess, she's supposed to be intelligent, cold-headed and strong. So why she acts in a so inappropriate manner? Did she forget that goddesses must hide their true self from ordinary people? Once she tried to save Keiichi's life, but all other mistakes are unforgivable.

Another thing which surprised me was Hild appearance in the opening. Hey, we shouldn't know she's connected with Urd, it must be a surprise.

I didn't really like the OP or ED songs, they're just average; not as catchy as the first season's. However, I did like the OP sequence! I love the skies in this series. They draw it so well and so nice, AND it fits Belldandy a lot.

And yes, it's awesome to see Hild animated for the first time. :p I wonder who's her VA?

It might not be clear from my first post but I would like to remind everyone that we currently do not consider the AMG second season to be licensed yet.

We are still waiting for an announcement that the license has been picked up, I strongly suspect it will be licensed in the near future but until Anime Works / Media Blasters (or anyone else) actually says so, we count it as unlicensed. Therefore, fansubs will be listed on AnimeSuki until we hear different.

The first TV season has been licensed by Anime Works / Media Blasters and the first four DVDs have been released so far (I received the 4th DVD on Friday). It looks like the six DVD series will contain 26 episodes (if I remember there was only 24 TV episodes aired on Japanese TV then 2 extra episodes on DVD release only).

Going back to the original question, please do not ask for MP3 rips (even if they are from unlicensed anime), see the forum rules (http://forums.animesuki.com/faq.php?faq=rules).

If it doesnt come out today we can safely say subs will be slow. It will be 4 days today since ep1 came out and the fansub that may sub it is known for being slow. Even with series' like Naruto they're like 14 eps behind (in their defense, its fillers). Lets pray to god a speed sub picks it up.

I acctually like the OP and ED songs. Bell playing the bagpipes is kinda funny initially, but it does kinda fit given that the OP for the first season had kinda a celtic theme to it. I also love the manga clippings that make the ending with its song, I think that its nice.

Er, you're bashing on us already for the 1st episode? Relax damn it, any 1st episode of a series requires 4-7 days due to new styling (picking a font design, colors, logos, OP/ED design, etc), finding a decent raw to clean up (all of them are bad), working with some new crewmembers, and so forth.

Gawd, ungrateful leechers... if you bitch that much, you go try making a high quality fansub in a timely manner. And for the record, yeah, I'm pissed. I'm coming out of retirement for this project and I gotta deal with this crap.

First of all, please read the first post of this thread, especially the requests to be polite to your fellow forum members and to keep the discussion on topic. Perhaps we should add that you shouldn't whinge and whine that the episode hasn't been fansubbed as fast as you want but then we do have a sticky posted in the Fansub forum which covers that.

Now back to topic. I love the new OP and ED too. Aww...no matter how many times I look at it, Keiichi and Belldandy still makes the best couple afterall. Keiichi and Belldandy managed to remake the contract right? I'm pretty worried about what will happen to Belldandy or Keiichi without the Ultimate Force 'protecting' them. I miss Skuld and Urd too. Good to see them arguing right at the start of the episode.

Dward: Best couple? I dunno... I'm starting to get tired waiting after years in the manga to see if they even get to 1st base officially. I'm more partial to Kaoru and Aoi from Ai Yori Aoshi, at least they made it all the way. :p But... I'll concede that K1 and Bell still makes a nice cute couple.

Watched ep.1. GREAT START!!!It is a fresh start to see the 4 characters coming back in and. alive of course lolz.
Good to hear that Belldandy + Keiichi's relationship will be continuing, thank goodness to Urd+Lind for helping out with that audio hehe. Is pretty funny on Keiichi's attempts to say the password in front of the Goddesses xD. I am looking forward towards both Urd and Skuld's developement, not only Belldandy+Keiichi but other characters as well such as Lind perhaps?

The opening scenery is nice, but compare to the season 1 i would prefer season 1 opening over season 2 opening, base on song not scnery. The ending is awesome, shows some of the manga pictures from the manga. Now im so tempted to start the manga (just gotta wait till next week!!)

Q1. Do you guys notice or is it just me? that at end when Belldandy hugs Keiichi, her hair is gray or is it brown? of course she didnt released her seal but from looks of it......i see is gray. What you guys reckon?

Well its a good thing I am already a fan of this series because I dont think the first episode of this season was very strong. For starters:

1) The OP song is really poor compared to the first seasons. This must be a thing this year for second seasons because School Rumble's OP is equally as boring.

2) For a premiere episode it didn't really get going until about 7-9 minutes in. I really felt like the first third of the show was just plain boring.

3) The pacing felt a little off to me as well, it was plodding during the first half, then started to pick up and blam: 2 minute non exciting resolution.

I honestly think this series is the best when it sticks closest to the source material, but maybe with a few varations to fit the medium (TV) better. After last season ending with the "terrible master urd" story arc it feels odd that they didn't do the "trials of morisato" arc - maybe it was released on the dvd box set and thats why they didn't lead off with it? If that was the case it sort of seems like a bad call to me.

Anyway, atleast the next episode looks promising because Sayoko is in it :D

EDIT:

Ok so i went back and looked and sure as shit the 2 episodes that were released on the DVD set cover the "trials of morisato" arc :) I was wondering why they went right from "terrible master urd" to "the queen of vengeance" and I guess thats the reason. Still the first episode was mostly filler, which I have to say it isn't always bad - but probably not how I like to see the first episode of a new season go down.

Also does anyone have any idea how many episodes they are going to do or how far they are going to get into the manga? It seems almost incomprehensible that they would do a second season without the urd devil arc, but it would be kind of funny if they ended season 2 more or less with the same crisis that they ended season 1 with ^_^

First episode was ok. For the most part, it was pretty run of the mill AMG stuff. Good things are hinted to come (Peorth FINALLY, WHOO!), but the writers copped out again. They did a bit of a rewrite of Belldandy and Keiichi's first kiss from chapter 11 of the manga, just without the kiss. This is almost as bad as the OAV opening where that actual scene from the manga is animated in the opening, but moves to another scene right before they kiss. For the love of god, just have them kiss and get it over with.

When I saw the title of this episode and saw Peorth in the first few seconds of the show, I honestly thought they were going to do the fourth goddess arc from the manga (which imo would have been better), but I guess I'll have to wait.

Seriously, I think is much better than the first one. The ED song was also pretty decent.

As a hardcore manga reader, I was pleasently surprised by this episode; They actually trew in a few interesting details (K-1's chat with God, Belldandy's new job, etc. :) ). This has been by far, IMHO, the best first episode of this new season.

I was pretending to pay attention to one of my guys when I read this. He was babbling on about a customer service issue that we are having, when I laughed and coffee came out of my nose. Now I either have to admit I wasn't paying attention to his grievance or that I thought the problem was funny.

Okay, here we go:

I'm a sucker for this show, I don't know why. I keep rooting for Keiichi
and Belldandy to get together - they're obviously made for each other.

But I just want to take him aside and go: "Keich, you know, you really
have a good thing going with Belldandy here but the fact that you're
been living together with her for almost a year and you're still afraid
to hold her hand much less kiss her makes me want to push you down
the stairs."

Yes, the show spotlights that uncertainty of first love and you don't
know what your limits are but if he paid attention to her he could see
she is equally interested. He's had opportunities. In cases where
she's potentially been on the verge of leaving his life forever due
to some computer problem in the heavens and does he spend his
time telling her how great she's been or spending some quality
time with her? NO! He's terrified of even so much as touching
her for fear that she'll slap him silly or something or reject him.

I've read other threads where people are exhibiting issues with the
manga not progressing, that the story began with an interesting
premise and there's no forward movement!

There's lots of places this story can go!

-will Keiichi and Belldandy stay together?
-will he move beyond the platonic?
-will he graduate?
-will his sister get more involved in the story?
-will his crazy motorhead friends go beyond being neanderthals and graduate?

There's so much I want to see with this story - I'm encouraged, a bit by
this first episode. But I want to give the story a good hard shove in the
direction it's going albeit slowly.

THAT being said, I eagerly await the next episode. I'm hoping we
see Skuld grow up a little and rely less on Banpei-kun for humorous
effects (maybe she'll even find an earth-based boyfriend?) or some
of the other characters develop a little.

i dont get it, why would a contract needs to be reformed again between Belldandy+Keiichi? so in order to live in the human world, one needs to have a contract with a person in the human world in order live there? than...what about Skuld or Urd?!??!?! they dont have a contract there, yet they can still in the human world -_-.
Unlike Urd, who is presently on probation, and Skuld, who has yet to get a Goddess license, Belldandy is a full fledged goddess with employment opportunities, if not responsibilities.

The contract is effectively bureaucratic paperwork to allow Belldandy to remain on Earth legitimately. Without rules like this, we would get tonnes of Gods and Goddesses coming down to Earth whenever they liked and mess up human society.

(I imagine it to be like a work-visa)

Being an avid manga reader, I'd just like to address some of the possible directions that aliensporebomb brings up:

-will Keiichi and Belldandy stay together?

Yes, they do, but that's the infuriating part. They haven't done anything.

-will he move beyond the platonic?

He's tried, but can't. Belldandy freely admits, IN FRONT OF KEIICHI, that she loves him, but he can't even say it back to her. She is also open about how possessive she is of him.

-will he graduate?

Did, works for Chihiro now, along with Bell.

-will his sister get more involved in the story?

She had a decent arc a while ago, but right now she is rarely seen.

-will his crazy motorhead friends go beyond being neanderthals and graduate?

They did, rarely show up anymore.

The problem with the manga is that there really hasn't been any progress for several chapters now. The story is just meandering from one thing to the next without any development whatsoever on Keiichi and Belldandy's relationship. For the love of God, they kissed in chapter 11 and now at chapter 210, he still is incredibly nervous around her.

More thoughts:

-What this show needs, in my opinion, is some outside help to assist the writer.
They've followed the manga probably too closely or the actual author came up
with a great premise but there's no forward movement.

-The manga-ka had some great ideas but if they kissed at Chapter 11 and in
Chapter 210 he's still panicking around her, there's something really wrong.

Is the manga-ka possibly as inexperienced as Keiichi and has no idea where
to go to push their relationship further?

-Or is it like a lot of american television shows who rely on the unresolved
sexual tension to keep viewers glued to the screen? I guess it's working.

Or the manga-ka is resting on his laurels? or is enjoying torturing his readers?

I re-watched this episode and enjoyed it, but it will take a few episodes to see
the direction things are heading.

-Things I'd like to see:

Mind you, these are my ideas and are guaranteed possibly not to be in the show:

-Keiichi's sister takes Belldandy out to a trendy clothing boutique to get her
way dolled up so Keiichi can't resist or just to give her some advice "my
brother is a slug, you're going to have to attack him to get him to do
anything." This way Bel' makes inroads into Keiichi's family and since
she's going to be around for a while they're going to need to get used to
her. Comic fun could be had as they giggle while Keiichi stares at them
with the blood draining out of his face.

-Urd decides things are moving too slow so she decides to put the moves on
Keiichi in an effort to get Bel' to make a move - we've seen hints of this in
earlier episodes of Belldandy's possessive jealousy, I'd like to see more of
this side of her character. Urd is a little too involved in their relationship
and though she tries to help it's almost like she likes to see Keiichi fail as
much as he succeeds. I suspect that's her demon side coming out.

-Worse possibly - Skuld goes thru proto-goddess puberty and decides she
sees what Bel' sees in Keiichi and goes after him. Bound to happen
eventually.

-Some of these things may have happened at one level or another in the
manga or even the other animated series, I've just seen last years season
one so it's not like I'm an expert here. I enjoy the show but there's some
things that frustrate me about it. Still, K&B's sweet romance is one of those
things you either go "awwww" or "ptui" about. I guess I'm in the former.

At this rate K is going to be an old man by the time he works up the courage
to do anything.

Although, I do see the preview for the next episode has that rich hoity-toity
girl who shot him down when he asked her out before Bel' appeared on the
scene, could be interesting to see what happens with her considering the
alliance she made towards the end of the first season and her obvious
malice towards K&B. Could be good to see a Bel' rattled by her reappearance.

Its funny because after watching the first episode, i'm already thinking about how they plan to end the series. Since the manga is not finished there are only a couple stopping point that I believe they will use.

initially i thought they would end after welsper or however you spell it, however if they have urd's mom, then it has to be past the shrinking of peorth.

now the issue is, i can't find any other spot that has something big happening.

Some ideas though

Keichi's mom and dad visit

Lind and the Angel Eater

Urd's goddess test

Teleport key person with hole in her chest

and really that last one is way toward end of whats out right now, so i don't think that will be it. Really i think the farthest it will get is urd's goddess test. Lind and the Angel Eater seems a little wierd because they would have to bring Lind back again which doesn't seem to fit quite as well if they met once already. (Lind's already a bit too soft after meeting them once) Keichi's mom and dad visit isn't anything tramatic so meh. in the end... still no clue.

I think you're on the right track with the job thing, though. Without a contract (mission) on Earth, she has to report to her office in Heaven. Or be fired.

Though it still leaves the question of why, if everyone and his God remembered Keichi's wish for Belldandy to stay, they had to go through that much trouble to restore the original wish. Couldn't they just:
- write a note stating that Bell had to remain with Keichi as part of her duties?
or
- let Keichi wish for that again?
It's not like they were trying a con game with an insurance company or anything.

Have to say I liked this a lot. Animation is even better than last seasonm particularly Belldandy's kawaii blinking :) Story wise I won't comment on just yet as it's basically just setting up. Can't wait for more goodness :)

Mind you, these are my ideas and are guaranteed possibly not to be in the show:

-Keiichi's sister takes Belldandy out to a trendy clothing boutique to get her
way dolled up so Keiichi can't resist or just to give her some advice "my
brother is a slug, you're going to have to attack him to get him to do
anything." This way Bel' makes inroads into Keiichi's family and since
she's going to be around for a while they're going to need to get used to
her. Comic fun could be had as they giggle while Keiichi stares at them
with the blood draining out of his face.

If you read the manga, you'll find that Belldandy is a lot more forward than in the anime. She's met Keiichi's parents in the manga already, and they are actually quite accepting of her. She is special in his dad's eyes, but not in a romantic way.

-Urd decides things are moving too slow so she decides to put the moves on
Keiichi in an effort to get Bel' to make a move - we've seen hints of this in
earlier episodes of Belldandy's possessive jealousy, I'd like to see more of
this side of her character. Urd is a little too involved in their relationship
and though she tries to help it's almost like she likes to see Keiichi fail as
much as he succeeds. I suspect that's her demon side coming out.

Done with Peorth instead of Urd. Expect to see this in the anime.

-Worse possibly - Skuld goes thru proto-goddess puberty and decides she
sees what Bel' sees in Keiichi and goes after him. Bound to happen
eventually.

Done in anime. Episode 26.

I personally think that Fujishima has just plain run out of ideas, but doesn't want to put the series to bed yet. It's too bad, because if he doesn't come out with something good soon, he really should just end it. It's not like Belldandy doesn't want it, it's more that Keiichi is too much of a wuss to do anything. It was cute at first, but got annoying pretty quick.

Actually, Belldandy's anime form is a weakpoint relative to the manga. Her manga version is a much more diverse, multi-facetted character in comparison to her anime form. She is more aggressive relative to Keiichi in the manga, and is more rounded emotionally and mentally. We rarely ever get to see her feisty, aggressive side in the anime (except before that race with Aoshima), and I really hope that this side starts coming out in later episodes.

Here's my opinion on what to expect in the show, and comments on what TDRKZ said:

Will definitely see Skuld get Noble Scarlet (you see it in the intro). How this plans to be written, I don't know since it's hard to say whether they will introduce Sentaro to follow the manga.

Fourth goddess arc and introduction of Peorth will happen. There are already hints of this in episode 1 of season 2. I expect (and they damn well better) the show to follow the manga. One of the better arcs in the manga and brings in one of my favourite (if not favourite) characters.

Introduction of Hild will probably happen, but like TDRKZ said, how they plan on doing this without Welsper, I don't know. They could just easily write a new Urd story or do the broom race.

Angel eater is not happening in accordance with manga. They changed Lind too much in episode 26 to follow the manga faithfully. Might still do it albeit altered, which will also allow Hild to come into the picture.

Passing of directorship of motor club to Keiichi will in almost all likelihood happen. If Chihiro is to be properly introduced, this is how it will turn out.

Keiichi's parents arriving, unlikely. Takes place way too far off, a cute story, but there's a long way to go before getting there.

Gateway arc - not happening. This won't happen until Peorth is established as a significant supporting character which I don't see until the end of this season.

Urd's first class test is a possibility, but I'm not banking on it happening.

Okay. The same old cliches, but I guess that's to be expected since they're establishing some kind of continuity between seasons. I thought there was definitely too much talking; too many times when an un/comfortable wordlessness could have been much more appropriate than the same old lines (but slightly off, I think?).

They could fit this in at any time, though it's very far off, but of the latter half of the manga that I've read, the Sayoko arc really stood out; thinking on the conclusion of that arc, can almost believe the relationship between Keichi and Belldandy had been developing, on a level that the reader couldn't see, which gives me hope and fuels my motivation to await something happening in the manga. That could possibly make a good closing arc for the second season.

Preview for the next episode doesn't look too promising. Love in every stitch? Hmm... seems like they're making Belldandy's character more forward with her feeling this season (which is as happens in the manga, as has been noted, but not this fast I didn't think!).

Edit: Opening was excellent, though.

You know, I'd love to hope that the hand-holding in the opening theme is more than just fan service for romantics... =\ I don't want to make stuff up entirely, though, since they'd probably not do the best job of it.

The opening was beautiful! Bagpipes! Peorth and Hild! Urd looked fantastic. The first episode itself didn't blow me away, but it was exactly what I was expecting. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season.

Enjoyed the first episode - nothing in it that blew me away, but there were no disappointments either. The animation artwork continues to be a beautiful strong point, and the tone and pacing of the voice acting seemed consistant with the first season. I thought that both the OP and ED matched up quite well with the feel of the series. I have to say that I preferred the OP and (first) ED from Season 1, but that's due to how much I liked those songs, not because of deficiencies in the new pieces. All things considered, I would rate this episode as a solid 8. It might have been higher if anything much had actually happened plotwise other than re-introducing the characters and the setting. But, hey! Belldandy is back, the second season is off to a satisfactory start, and there is lots more to come - gotta love it!

Happy to see more of everyones favorite goddess the second season looks promising enjoyed the first episode. It seem belldandy was more forceful and honest with her feelings than in the second season and she even used magic in front of others.

I would like to thank again the fansubbers for their wonderful work in translating so soon AMG episode 1. I have to say that I appreciate very much the opening song, but I have one qualm about the translation: at a moment it is written "The small dream you painted towards the sky". I don't know sufficiently japanese to appreciate the original version, but I was wondering if a better translation would not be "in the sky"?

That being said, the anime series seems to be evolving in a quite different direction from the manga... Does anybody think that we might be ending with a possible marriage of K/B?

Ah Megami Sama manga published by Dark Horse and there was a
blurb from the manga-ka of this particular series. Looks like the guy
is a total mess, living like a monk with his body and possessions falling
apart. NOW I understand why Keiichi is the way he is in the story.

Seriously, I recommend that you do NOT read the words below.
Peorth is another goddess. God decides that he needs Beldandy back in Heaven, so he sends Peorth to take over Keiichi's contract. She comes to earth to seduce Keiichi into voiding the contract with Beldandy by sealing a new contract with her body. Eventually it is revealed that the reason that Peorth was chosen as Keiichi's new companion is because she is half-demon and God found her too disruptive in Heaven.
