Naruto Signature & GIF request Thread [Read guidelines]

I use ImageReady and I wrote up how to record the process Here (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=251057&postcount=3046) .

If you don't want to do that then just go to the Layers tab, create a layer above all the other layers. Go to Select->All (Or just do Ctrl+A) then Edite->Stroke, and choose however big you want the border to be. Make sure the Inside option is selected like Shay said and then just hit Ok. That should work.

No it's over 200kbs. It's a long timeframe so I don't think I could get it under 50kbs. As for editing out the credits I always use the RAW version for my GIFs so there's no subs to worry about. I basically just cropped the image where there were no credits. Sometimes it cuts out too much of what I want but other times you get lucky.

Brighter? How would I go about doing this in ImageReady 7.0? O.O
Well what I usually do to lighten up a GIF is to just tweak the Gamma (Image->Adjustments->Gamma). But sometimes that just doesn't do it so I Import the GIF over the Photshop to adjust the Levels and the Brightness and Contrast. This part takes a while cause you have to adjust the levels for each layer and then paste them back into ImageReady. Basically you're remaking the GIF.

Those are the only 2 ways I know of. If anybody knows an easier way we're all ears.

Ebil... All you ebil people who know how to use these things. May your computers burn up. Very nice though, MEzu. Now to try and work on my own borders. Funny, whenever I find a good tutorial, it never works with my ImageReady.

how did you get the fade in with the Shikamaru GIF, Shin?
For the fade in I used the Tween feature. It's on the box where the animation frames are, right beside the Duplicate Frame Button. I just used a 2 frame tween for the Shikamaru GIF but you can use as many as you like, providing you can keep it under 50kb after the tween. Only thing I mess with are the number of frames I want to tween and make sure that Tween with: First Frame is selected. It always comes up with the Previous Frame so make sure you change it.

As for borders you can just create a transparent layer above all the layers. Then go Select->All (make sure the tranparent layer is selected before you do this) and then Edit->Stroke. I had a whole post written up about how to record the process and just have one button to do that, but you'd have to stroke every frame. I hope all that made sense.

Very nice for you that It Has To Be 100x100 but with this scene that's virtually impossible. With "normal" GIF's you'd have to cut out some of the image to make it fit in 100x100 but due to the dimensions of this image (the green/red beams on the top and bottom of the screen) you'd have to cut out so much information that the scene would be ruined. If you want this I think you have to wait a couple of more days.

I use Adobe Image ready and Ulead gif animator. I got mine on the HUSH HUSH if you know what i mean?

You have to pay for these things....pfffft.

Hehe, well it just so happened that I was online when I saw you post. And it only takes a second to really adjust size...

The actual program for making the GIOfs you may have to buy. I, myself, use Adobe Photoshop 7.0+ImageReady 7.0 along with VirtualDub (http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/) which captures the image sequence. I'm not sure what other programs you could use for making the GIFs...maybe someone else knows.

Nah I'm not sick of answering questions.

For the border like I did with the Tsunade GIF, I created a new transparent layer. Then I did a 3 pixel black stroke, then a 2 pixel stroke of a green color I got from the GIF itself (the trees, bushes, leafy stuff in the background), and finally a 1 pixel black stroke. I have this all recorded and saved so I just press the F2 button and voila the border appears. It's magic!
The Rock Lee GIF border is just as simple. Just create a new layer, Select->All, Select->Modify->Contract. In the Contract box I used 3 pixels. Now do a 1 pixel black border. Deselect, then go to Select->All and do a 1 pixel black border. Taadaa!

It's kinda hard to explain and it's late for me so I'll write it up an post tomorrow. Hopefully it'll make some kinda sense.

The tricky part is to compensate for the upwards motion of the camera. Meaning you've got to line up every frame so that it is aligned properly and then you have an animation in which the camera doesn't move. It's a time consuming process but it leaves a good result.

Let me post a helpfull Imageready Guide on how to deal with the scrolling of the screen.

Palani's Guide For Horizontal/Vertical Scrolling

Note that all this has to be done before cropping or resizing the GIF.

Step 1.

Basic Gif Making, Meaning Deleting double frames and selecting which frames you want for the animation. The latter should be done with pinpoint accuracy since any change in the frames you want can cause you to start then entire process all over again and we wouldn't want that to happen now would we? No, we won't

Step 2.

When you've gotten your frames set the real trick can begin. Start by taking out another object and place it on a set point of the animation (i.e. in Tsunade's GIF her chin for example). Make sure this is visble on all frames. (For imageready users I assume something like this could be done by using a layer above all the other layers., Or by using my method of an erasable magic marker and putting a dot on your screen in the apropriate position). This is one of the most important things since it gives you a focus point. This works as well as a means of not having to constantly switch back and forth between frames to spot that 1 pixel misalignement.

Step 3.

This is the painstaking of putting all frames in the correct place. It's not hard it's that doing this for all frames might take a while.


If you followed along (And spend a little more time on it then the 10 minutes I did you can end up with Shin Kell's Gif)
