---

Media Blasters have announced the license for both the first and second TV series of Ah! My Goddess (AMG) so AnimeSuki will not list any torrents.

Since all of AMG is licensed so the following posts are no longer allowed

Asking where you can find AMG downloads or torrents.
Discussing AMG fansub groups (past or present).
Asking for help downloading AMG.
Asking for playback help for AMG episodes.
These rules applies to fansubs (in English or any other language) and raws alike.

You still are allowed to discuss the anime and manga, that has not changed but please remember to limit the discussion to the story. The weekly AMG (second series) discussion threads are still welcome and will be stickied when the new episode airs on Japanese TV. Discussion about the DVD releases and earlier series are also welcome.

This means all of the various Ah! My Goddess series have been licensed, the first and second TV series, the OVA, the Movie, the Mini-Goddess TV series and the manga are all licensed.

If a Mod notices anyone breaking these rules then expect to be banned from the forums. It's unlikely a warning will be given and do not expect to be notified, you will just be banned. Please use the Report button http://forums.animesuki.com/images/buttons/report.gif if you notice any of the above rules being broken.

Other than that, the forum will continue as before, it will not be moved or closed and you may still discuss the various aspects of the anime or manga. Enjoy :)

So ichi (or ichii?) means the number 1 in Japanese? I see a lot of people calling him K1.

Oh, and didn't he and Belldandy already went on a date early on in season 1? I got a deja vu feeling watching episode 1 of this new season.

Keiichi_chan

Kei=sounds like the letter 'K' in english
Ichi=one in Japanese.
Keiichi signs his name as 'K1' alot and wears it on his racing outfits.
It's a play on words that's pretty prominent in the manga.

Because I am stuck in backwater Indiana, I haven't read the series. But I have seen the first couple of episodes (1-5), then the movie. I had a question for the characters, something I was wondering when I saw Celestin in the movie: Why do the goddess' spiritual forms look way different from their corporeal forms? Just a thought from someone not in the know.

24 episodes aired on TV
1 recap special
2 DVD only OVA episodes

That's 26 episodes, or 27 if you count the recap special. (I don't count the recap because it was meaningless.)

Yes, I am. I was wondering what the significance of that was. (It wasn't in the AnimEigo version of the series.)

Angels weren't introduced into the manga until after the original OAVs were produced, hence why they are not in the original Animeigo release. The angels are not the spiritual forms of the goddesses. They are sentient beings that live within them. The goddesses and their angels have, for all intensive purposes, a symbiotic relationship. The purpose of an angel isn't clearcut, but from what has been shown in the manga, they can aid and augment in casting magic , as well as assist goddesses in other tasks.

well there are many programs for making gifs my favorite is Adobe ImageReady CS
but but depending on the gif you are interested in you need frames (pics in a certain order) one of the easyest way to get them is by using BS player's function to capture frames ( press P will watching the video) after you captured the frames you just arrange them in ImageReady and save them into gif format.

PS: i hope you understood Sorry for my bad english

I just saw a group released a widescreen version and was thinking if it's worth downloading. Thanks

If you already have the original fullscreen version, there is little incentive to download the widescreen version. However, you should keep the following in mind.

-The Widescreen version actually has more in the shot than the fullscreen version (it looks as if the fullscreen version was cropped from the widescreen version). For example, in one of the earlier scenes in episode 1 when Megumi is talking with Keichii and Belldandy, half of Belldandy's head is cut out in the fullscreen release, but it is all there in the widescreen release (it's the back of her head, so it's not so bad).

-Aone and AYuki have switched to only doing widescreen releases, so if you want an entirely consistent season 2, you'll have to get the widescreen versions. They're also the only group that I know that is actively subbing this in english.

NoSanninWa
2006-05-16, 17:20
That's most of it. Just for a little clarification...

The anime cells are produced and filmed in widescreen. It is then chopped down to 4:3 and aired on TV. Three weeks later it is aired in the original aspect ratio.

AonE and AnY subbed the first 4 episodes from the fullscreen raws. Then the first episode aired in the unchopped widescreen format. They liked it better so they decided to re-sub the first 4 episodes in the proper aspect ratio. These widescreen versions are using the same script, so the only difference is that you have more of the video.

They are no longer subbing the 4:3 version at all. According to their current plans, you will never see them release episode 5 in the fullscreen aspect. At that point I will cease to mark the version as widescreen because ALL their subs of AMG will be the widescreen version.

Once they have released episode 4 in widescreen, they will finally release episode 5. Note that their releases will stay at least 3 weeks behind the original Japanese air date because they want to use widescreen raws only. They feel that chopping off the sides of the screen is a horrible thing to do to beautiful animation.

These widescreen versions are using the same script, so the only difference is that you have more of the video.

Not entirely correct. We retime the script, fix minor English problems, improve the terminology, and use the official lyrics.

All in all, the WS versions are far superior to the FS versions.

There aren't very large diffences between the manga and anime but the anime does sometimes tend to skip around and has shown a few things out of order from the manga, since the seires has kind of an episodic feel to it. You might lose whole volumes if you pick up where the anime leaves off.

Plotwise, not really, the storylines that are pulled from the manga are, for the most part, followed closely by the anime.

The characterization though, this is probably one of the biggest criticisms levelled against the anime from fans of the manga. It mainly revolves around Belldandy and her relationship with Keiichi. In the manga, Belldandy is (was) much more forward, bold and direct with her relationship with Keiichi, not only with him, but with those who would try and interfere with them. However, in the anime, she is much more laid back, and possibly blissfully ignorant of her relationship with Keiichi. An example of this is when Skuld became an adult. In the manga when she was clinging to Keiichi's arm, Bell told her to stop being so close to him, while in the anime, Bell was totally oblivious to the notion that perhaps Skuld was developing feelings for Keiichi.

Ok sry this is more of a funny fact than a question.

Idk if anyone noticed this before but in season one after bel and K1 defeated Lord of Terror and as we know bel released her seal which made her return to her heaven cloths and her hair turned grey. Well once all was said and done bel had to reseal her power. Now heres the funny part and I'll leave it up to u to decide if its a mere coincidence or a chance to bash blondes. When bel resealed her powers her hair turned blonde...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA DUMB BLONDES:D

Question: did the manga ever address the fact that Keiichi is going to
eventually age with Bel'/Urd/Skuld/etc staying essentially ageless?

That was an interesting thing they brought up in Karin, the vampire girl
series that the romantic relationship between a human and a non-human
raises the fact that the human will not live as long as the other partner.

I suppose Bel' could do something about it, theoretically.

@ALien,
the manga mentioned it, fairly recently, but never really dealt with it. Basically it's just said that Bell is immortal and because of it, things won't last this way forever(aka eventually K1 will die).

@rixie, plz tell me the scene where they play it, instead of the number. Then I'll tell you the track name.:D

Ok I have no idea if this is a good place to ask this question but its such a specific question it really won't fit into any preset catagory.

A long time ago I got a copy of a tape with some anime on it, all fansub stuff as this is before companies started scooping up shows to licences them in north america. At the end it had a bunch of fan made video's of various anime series to various songs. One of them was clips of the original 5 AMG set to the song "The Promise" by When in Rome. It was really well done but it had obviously been copied 10 times to many as my copy was in really sad shape. I was wondering if anyone knows if theres a decent version of this on the internet that I could download? It may not even exist on the internet as it was obviously originally made long before we had divx and mp3s and such but I figured it was worth a shot to ask.

Thanks!

Thankyou for looking but Im afraid that wasn't it. :( I used the search function (as Im sure you did) and found that it was the only AMG video to that song on the site. :( Still a cool site though!

I remember how the video started. As the song starts the video starts right at the beginning of ep 1 (after the title sequence) and doesn't cut till the flash of light before Keiichi wakes up. From there it starts cutting to other clips.

Im guessing if that site doesn't have it, nobody does but if you have any other ideas that'd be great. If not, I appriciate you taking the time to look. :)

Thanks!

Hi. Just caught up with the final few episodes of the series.. Looking forward to a good R1 release (though it seem uncertain who licensed it so far).. Is a movie based on the TV series confirmed? Or just rumoured?

Thought the last episode was OK, but what triggered Keiichi's idea that Hild was just playing with him at the end that he didn't realize at the beginning? Seeing Hild getting Belldandy all fired up made him realize he was just being used as a tool?
Thanks

The rumors about the second movie are just rumors. There was no official confirmation if it will be filmed or not.

As for your second question, it's quite difficult to answer. This story is anime-only and has no manga base. And, imho, it's absolutely illogical. Probably Hild just allowed him to realize that, because she didn't really want to separate him from Bell forever.

Senovit
2006-12-11, 17:16
It may just be that Keiichi realized not that he was being used as a tool, but that Hild just didn't love him, perhaps through the way she acted to him, things she said, etc. What struck me as odd was that he would confess his love to Belldandy who he, as far as I remember, had only transferred to the school a few days ago and had never talked to him.

Hello everyone, I just bought the premium box set for Seasson 1 and all I have to say is WOw! I think I'm addicted to the series now, I want more!:D

However, I heard that Media Blaster lost the lincense to some other company, I hope they keep the same voice actors from seasson 1 cause they really did a good job playing the characters. It sucks to see a great series goes down the drain with poor voice actors that has happened to many other great animei series.

Another question is, the manga has 2 title, Oh! My Goddess and AMG, why is that? Are they both the same? I have been thinking about buy the entire series:heh:

Since seasson 2 has already been done in Japan, when are we gonna get it here? Are they gonna continue pumping out all the other episode?

Finally I hope that they don't sway too for from the original manga.

It's true, although Media Blasters didn't lose it as much as they decided not to license the second series. ADV picked it up after MB announced that they were not going to be releasing season 2. As for whether or not ADV will use the same voice actors, it has not been announced whether they will or not, although they stated that their preference would be to have the same cast. Don't expect ADV's release for awhile since they only announced this week that they picked it up.

Oh My Goddess! and AMG are the same. The reason is when Animeigo first licensed the original OAV series, they changed the name to OMG because of the word play on the english phrase, "Oh my God!". Dark Horse comics, which releases the manga in North America, also followed suit and used the name O!MG. Media Blasters decided to use the original Japanese title of Ah! My Goddess for the TV series release here.

To tie up any other loose ends, the manga (in Japan) is not finished yet. Also, the North American releases are still only at volume 25, so they are still a ways behind (roughly 7 volumes). As for the anime, until there is an announcement regarding new shows being produced, you can consider it finished and done for, for now.

I just got to get a glims on one of the AMG mangas, and to my suprise there is some side story that AMG seasson 1 left out!

When K1 ate the cake and turned into a women, the episode after that features Urds lover came looking for K1 because he suspected that K1 stole Urd from him. Damn now I have to really get all of the mangas.

Anyone know which volume of manga that seasson 1 stopped at? My guess would be vol.18.

There are 2 AMG movies out there. Are they the same story, or its entirely 2 different movies?

Kleo Scanti

Actually there is only one AMG movie. There are also 5 episodes of old OVA, humorous series "Adventures of Mini-Goddesses" and two seasons of TV series.

As for similarities between manga and TV, they jump from one volume to another, so it's difficult to say where they really stopped.

So Troubador thought that K1 stole Urd from him? In a way, it's true:
you have to wonder why a goddess of her beauty/stature is hanging
around the Morisato residence for so long. It's ostensibly to keep an
eye on a certain human/goddess couple but I wonder.

There have been points where she shows up in K1s bath with him
and in fact has kissed K1 more than K1 and Bel' have.

I think we need to get some readers of the manga on here to get an
idea what volumes we need to cover the series and then what to get
to cover what happens after.

I don't even care that things were unresolved to a point either - I would
like to have an idea of how things get concluded.

Oh, one question: Did Yoko Ishida's "Bokura no Kiseki" ever get a full length version
release anywhere? The soundtrack for the show has the TV length 1 minute and
30 second version but I'm hoping this is actually an excerpt from a longer piece.

Her voice is just as smooth as can be and I'm a stickler for pitch accuracy in
singing and she's just right on the money. That type of tune is usually not

Considering how different many of the stories are between the manga and the anime, even the ones that are pulled from the manga, I would recommend for those who are really interested in reading the manga that they might as well read the whole thing.

It's not even just storyline changes, but the characters are also very different at times; in particular, Belldandy.

I don't think so. I have both season 1 OSTs and season 2 OST, and I've listened to most of the tracks on them but they're not there. I really wish they had a recording of the song that they sing when they're putting Urd's personalities together again.

I'm also suprised to see several songs missing from the Season II OST for example the song Hild,Urd,Belldandy and Skuld sing to patch Urd back. When I found out it wasnt in the OST I was so disappointed. In fact there's several songs that I never come across in the season II anime when I listen to the song tracks.

They have to finish off the anime series, cause seasson 2 ending is not gonna cut it. However, there where rumours that they may not have enough money to start seasson 3 due to poor dvd sales.

Manga:
Dark Horse has recently republish vol 1-20 in original right to left manga reading style. My question is would I be able to buy vol21 now and it would pick up from vol20 later down the road?

Nope. They said that they get enough money from dvd sales. The problem is that the animators are tired and need a break.

While I don't doubt that they made enough to break even from season 2 DVD sales, the quesion is whether it was enough to warrant making more. I remember somebody posted DVD sales for both season 1 and season 2 in Japan, and there was a significant drop from 1 to 2. The season 1 DVDs averaged nearly 10,000 sales per volume, while at the start of this year, only 1 DVD from season 2 had over 7,000 sales. That's an over 30% dropoff in sales. Granted, the season 2 DVDs have only been out for less than half a year, but that's still a lot of ground to make up.

2006/08/25 *7,123 Vol. 2
2006/09/22 *6,829 Vol. 3

2006/11/24 *6,670 Vol. 5
2006/12/22 *4,828 Vol. 6

Not fantastic, but still not bad, comparing to the other series' sales.

As for making more, Ghoada (the director) is a big fan of the series, and he said many times that he's going to turn as many manga chapters into anime as possible. Also one of the animation team members said that the possibility of making the third season (or at least the second movie) is quite high. I'm not sure that this info (about team member's words) is 100% correct though. But I hope it is.

i really hope that season 3 is going to be made, instead of the 2nd movie. i am glad that the manga is not going to end soon, as i like AMG as a manga and anime that gives me the joy of seeing something like a 'ideal' couple (well, not mentioning some of their awkward and slow progress in the relationship, but they are just SWEET for me^^) that going through everyday's life. i really want to see how the story will end, but i will not hope it will be soon. much later is much better (for me^^).

the story has some climax and hindrance for K1 and Bell's relationship, but they will always overcome it, and thats why i like it ^^ for me the biggest trial for 2 of them is in the movie. what u guys think?

so, i really hope that season 3 will air, cos there are some aspects and good things that perfecting each other between manga and the TV series. i can wait for the series and will satisfy myself with the manga rite now^^

Officially, there isn't a particular time that the show takes place in. It most certainly takes place in modern day Japan, and was in all likelihood, written with the current times in mind. That said, considering that the manga was started in 1988, it is safe to assume that the setting is anywhere between 1988 and now. There are a few things that more solidly date the setting of the series (ie. a computer that Keiichi gets), but I'm a little too lazy/indifferent to really determine a time stamp for it.

2007-03-01, 14:32
Well, his computer looks like a mid 90s model, but he did say it was an old one and people just keep getting new. I guess we are just to assume it is current. Not really that hard to modernize old material. Few date changes here, few item changes there, etc. I guess I will just assume it is 05,06, and possibly 07 for the show and a third season does come.

Depends on what you're calling a good series. For me it is great because of a couple of supporting characters, whom I love dearly, and because of action/comedy based episodes. Besides, I'm a fan of AMG manga. But some people say it's "slow", "has no real action", "has no development in characters' relationships" and so on.

Down here in New Zealand the Season 1 came out about late June of last year as volume 1 + box and it has progressed from there, the dvds came out about one every three weeks or so; and eventually by December I had the complete season 1 boxset!! Thats all 26 episodes and about two weeks before the volume 1 came out I also got the AMG: The Movie, I know the manga came out years ago but here in NZ we are a hell of a way behind most of you guys here!! I hope that my retail company will import the second series as its been ages since my last 'fix' of both the dvds or manga, the only thing is that in NZ anime is stilled regarded as a childs' passion; and as I'm no kid I sometimes get laughed at for watching cartoons!

But when I've introduced friends and family to my collection of Gundam dvds and for the females in my group; the Chobits series, they change their minds pretty quick!! I also read somewhere back in the forum that someone said that angels that the goddesses have where sentient beings that were used as guardians? This may be true but in the series Urd and Bell explained to Skuld that they where there not only to protect, but to enhance and support higher level spells used by goddesses. And that goddesses only had angels, if only they had the power and abilities to support and maintain one in the first place. Hence it took many years of practice before an angel was successful to meet their 'inner-self'.

And my last guess is that I have a feeling that the series takes place in the mid-nineties, as by the technologies used by the characters? Well that's my opinion folks!

Take care all

For the poster who asked "is it worth it to buy the series?"

I say yes. You might think there's not much action but the idea really was
quite an original one: what if a really shy guy who's never had a girlfriend
DID get a female goddess to stay with him. And what if her sisters decided
to hang around too?

I thought the first couple of episodes really illustrated a warning against
"be careful what you wish for, you might get it".

What would YOU do if a female goddess showed up and you somehow
got her to stay with you?

(mild spoiler)

If you were a college student living on your own it might be difficult as
dorm rules necessitate no male/female cohabitating, also, someone who
has magic capabilities might have to tone them way down or not do
them at all and wouldn't be used to that.

It's an interesting premise.

Next up, since season two didn't really resolve anything as far as where
certain situations were, I could see a season three especially if the sales
were in the thousands for each volume.

For those of you who really liked this series and want another season to be made, there is a way you can influence that decision. Go out and buy the DVDs. This can enable me to a few words of japanese which is fun:D. I'm looking carefully into what i should get as dvds. Theres also fate stay night which catches my eye as well as Shakugan no Shana. This is a very popular question in this thread, so I would appreciate if you would please take a look at how it has been answered on every single page of this Q&A since the second series ended. It is also asked in many other threads as well. It won't be hard for you to find someone else asking the question and getting an answer. Take a look at page 4 of this thread or page 5... Heck, it is being answered at the top of this page also.

Nothing more needs to be said about this. Really. Every single time someone asks this question people seem to feel the need to discuss it. Let's skip that meaningless discussion this time.

If people buy the dvds instead of just always stealing the fansubs, it helps show companies that the fanbase wants more of it, thus helping get a possible third season for this show!

Buy the dvds!

It's because the writers of the TV show decided not to follow manga canon where if an angel separates from it's host, the shock is so great it renders the host comatose.

Kleo Scanti
2007-07-28, 03:45
Not exactly. In manga Noble Scarlet also acts on her own ("Pretty in Scarlet"). Being separated physically would not bring a goddess to a comatose state, only mental separation would.

Holy Bell is not the only one who was shown only attached to her goddess. Gorgeous Rose (Peorth's angel) was never seen separately from her host too.

Yes, it is the one with Celestin, but I wouldn't exactly call him a love interest. I think the impression of that was only there because it was a thread to the relationship between K1 and Bell.

And pertaining to Urd, yes, I believe that is the right movie. I've only seen one AMG movie, but I believe that's the one to which you refer. Urd does quite a lot of fighting. My fav scene is when she summons lighting to strike that giant.... thing (I don't actually know what it was). The music during that part was good too. Actually I think the music throughout the whole movie was good, if a bit loud compared to the dialogue/FX.

Maybe she's cleaning his ears. Or just likes it when his head is on her knees.

Because it's more entertaining to stay? Because they like to stay together with Bell? And because they don't need to work while they're on Earth?

Why does Belldandy sometimes put Keichi's head on her knees sometimes?
A lap pillow. Shows a form of affection and trust.
If Urd And Skuld could go back to heaven, why didt they?
Urd has been banished to Earth for a period of time (don't remember how long) early in the series due to her failing to do her job, so it's a form of punishment. But given the supply of sake she can obtain while on Earth she doesn't seem to mind staying, plus as mentioned it seems she finds it a lot more fun down here.

Skuld doesn't want to leave her sister so she would be unlikely to go back unless Belldandy also returned (not to mention the supply of ice cream).

They both seem hooked on old TV series as well. Mostly it's because the storiies wouldn't be so interesting if they weren't in the way all the time.

The english-language version of AMG (actially the US manga uses Oh! My Goddess! as the title) is released in the US by Dark Horse Comics. The problem is, they released two different versions of the manga, originally they released a "flipped" (left-to-right) version, and later they released a "japanese" (right-to-left) version. Unfortunatly, I think both versions remain in print (along with various "repackagings" of specific chapters) which makes it hard to determine from on-line listings which is which.

Indeed, looking at the Dark Horse website there seem to be three different books listed as Oh! My Goddess! volume 1.

From what you have said, the reason that there is multiple versions of a volume is because theres different (left-right and right-left versions) of the book? I thought it has something to do with vol.4 being put into part 1 and part 2 something like that.

edit: what is the difference between this one: http://www.darkhorse.com/profile/profile.php?sku=11-527
and this one: http://www.darkhorse.com/profile/profile.php?sku=10-815

I know it has something to do with what you said? I dont know which one is left-right and which one is right-left.

Check the publication dates. The first one you listed is the original flipped version. Darkhorse only recenbtly started rereleasing AMG in true manga format (2005). The first one you list is the original graphic novel collection, which collected the individual comic books into a single volume, and read left to right. It's fairly obvious to see which is which by clicking on the preview button, it lets you read a few pages.

The price is also a good indicator, the original version costs more than the manga format version

ah ok, well it makes things easier for me, since i like reading from right to left and is cheaper lol.

Ok, I did some research and I know which one is which its based on the ISBN 10 number, so numbers that have 1-59307-xxx-x will be the right-left side format. But is awkhard in Darkhorse website, from vol.10-17, they have left-right side reading format, but afterwards it goes back to right-side reading format. :uhoh:

I hope what I researched is correct. if not, i'll be taking a trip downtown to ask the store owner about it, and also to buy Strawberry Panic! as well as Rozen Maiden ^^, but is VERY COLD here, I can only go when is abit warm...from looks of weather, it doesn't look too good.:(

Maybe this is a stupid question. Someone mentioned earlier that we should be sending fan letters into the animator of AMG to encourage him to make a third season. I was just curious, does that even have that much of an impact? Do the Japanese animators even care about the American fans? I am all for a third season of AMG, but I am not sure how much of an impact american fan mail has for the japanese animator. Like I said, maybe i am just naive.

The demand is high, and the director of the series has said he wants to do as much of the manga as possible, however i doubt it'll be done any time soon. Sales of season one and two in both japan and the west weren't that good, it's one of the reasons Media Blasters didn't license season 2, and also one of the reasons why ADV pulled it from the line up. So the license bait has gone. AMG is one of the few shows that from the outset is made to appeal to both the japoanese and western audience, if both of those aren't doing so well, then naturally we wont see any subsequent seasons for a while.

Personally i think the next season they release will be a 13 episode one, they'll see how that does and if it works out carry on with another 13 episodes, if it dosent, they don't lose out as much as if they'd commisioned a full 26 episodes.

No this is incorrect, So far only the first 7 volumes of AMG have been released in manga format, as in right to left. Volume 7 was released only just recently. Volumes 8+ are all TPB as in left to right, and lower quality.

Someone please answer this for me! We all know that Urd's mother is Hild. Has there ever been any mention in the manga as to who the mother of Belldandy and Skuld is ? Its a question that has been on my mind since I saw Hild in the anime and read the light novel. Its unusual that their mother is never mentioned or shown.

From information that was floating around the interweb at the time, Media Blasters did not willingly take a pass on Season 2. They themselves said that they wanted it and they did in fact try to licence Season 2, but ADV outbid them for it.

and also one of the reasons why ADV pulled it from the line up.
I doubt that is the whole reason. With only one DVD left in the series, they could probably have expected an increase in sales, from people waiting for the whole series to be released and those waiting for complete box sets to be released. Based on the little information on the ADV situation that has leaked out, there are bigger issues involved as to why ADV pulled many of their titles (not just AMG) from their webiste. :(

Tiamat's Disciple
2008-02-18, 16:55
Thats why i said 'one' of the reasons, and not 'the' reason.

What im finding rather weird though is that half of the shows they pulled are still being advertised, Pumpkin Scisors, Shuffle, Kanon and yes that last AMG disc, they're all still being advertised with release dates and stuff

But then again they're not the only company to pull titles, Viz has pulled a load aswell, Geneoin Died, Bandai is about to die (or is that commit suicide), not really a lot of companies left lol.

I would guess that is becuase, as far as I know, ADV has not offically anounced that anything is being discontinued or dropped. They just removed the titles from their website with no explination given.

I would imagine most retailers are just keeping the titles that were previously announced by them listed as "to be released" until ADV actually tells them differently. After all, there is still hope that all those titles are going to be released when ADV is finished dealing with whatever problems they are having right now <fingers crossed>

Anyway, I just finished watching it today. The last episode had really great drawings but....it doesn't feel complete. I knew it was the last episode but when "The End" came on screen i was like "wtf?!" They ended it in a humorous and cute manner but still.....

Perhaps it is. Or it isn't. One thing makes me think that he's not Kami-sama is the fact that he easily ordered to kill Urd and was ready to do it himself. It's not what a loving father would do.

Well, this isn't exactly a question that can be answered with facts... :)

but the main reason is that Skuld wants to keep Belldandy for herself (sigh, get your mind out of the gutter :)). Skuld is being selfish, she wants the attention of her big sister (who she admires beyond anyone) all for herself and doesn't want to share that attention with others. It's not she want to keep K1 away in particular, she would want to keep any man from showing Belldandy any romantic interest.

No, there were two DVD only episodes released, episodes 23 and 24. There were included with the U.S. DVD as well.

There is also the two Ah! My Goddess: Fighting Wings episodes (TV specials aired December 2007 for the Oh! My Goddess' 20th Anniversary).

And I doubt we will ever get a conclusive ending, not even the manga has that yet.

The thing it, there is still hope for a third season, so I guess no one wanted to mess that up with an anime-only ending that diverged from the manga. There is certainly plenty of source material yet, their is a large and fairly dedicated fan base, and the creators have on at least one occasion said that they would like to do more anime.

So, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed that it happens! ;)

Well i think they don't want to stretch the anime with useless episodes, because usually love stories have 1-2 seasons and they are not so popular,so i think they'r just waiting for the manga to end,and then release the final season.

The current storyline doesn't lead to anything as well as most of recent arcs. However, in the last arc we see most of the human characters, even those who were absent for many years already. AMG is that type of series that doesn't need a huge battle with unspeakable evil to be concluded. At any moment Keiichi can propose to Bell, she will say yes, and they will live happily ever after, but it will be "off-screen".

I assume you mean overprotective of Belldandy. Similar question asked on the previous page. It doesn't change in the 2nd season or in the entire length of the manga for that matter. Another reason is that it's used for comic effect more often than not.

First of all, in anime they don't follow the manga timeline. You should either read the entire manga or don't read it at all. In the manga they live like an average Japanese married couple, which means respect to each other and no sign of affection in public places. However, they spend most of the time together, and Bell openly says she loves K1. Umm... There were some kisses as well, but mostly in the early manga.

well, its just that i don't really want it to end, its really a good series, but i know that a series has to come to an end at some point, but 37 seems abit short .__. ~~

I believe that just reflects the current issue of the series. AFAIK there is no indication in the scanlated manga storyline of the series ending any time soon.

Actually, if you check the List of Oh My Goddess! chapters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Oh_My_Goddess!_chapters)also on Wiki, they not only list the whole contents of Volume 38, but they also list several chapters from the bi-monthly manga release which will eventually be volume 39, that have not yet even been collected into tankōbon format. ;)

Another thing, the manga is up to chapter 245 already. You just need to check the updates. In addition to what mdauben said, Kosuke has not announced that he would be ending the AMG! series anytime soon. It's just speculation, since the releases are becoming slower. The reasons for the slow manga releases are because Kosuke has a bunch of other projects going on rather than AMG!. He is currently teaming up or something with another artist working on the same AMG! Not a mangaka, but an artist to help him during the time he does all his other works.

Actually, while I think that is the chronological release order, I would not watch the AMG movie until you have watched at least the first season of the TV series. While the movie is not technically part of the TV continuity, it is close enough that it helps to be familiar with either the TV series or the manga first. The movie is set a couple years after Kei and Beldandy first meet and kind of assumes a prexisting knowledge of the characters and the backstory.

Adventures of Mini Goddesses is really an extra. Has no relative context to the manga, just a little parody I would presume. You can watch through all the episodes in just one sitting.

I need some help if anyone out there has the time to talk to me.
I'm very interested in Ah! My Goddess the anime and I've finished the whole series 2 times and I'm looking for any other animes that are just like AMG. I really love AMG and would want to continue watching animes of the same genre.

If anyone has any ideas, can you list me some animes that are similar to
Ah! My Goddess?

If anything you should go to the "Suggestions" sub-forum and make a thread there asking for anime's similar to AMG, but if you want a suggestion that is similar to this anime then I would recommend Love Hina (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=168) although it doesn't contain any magical aspects that are in AMG, even so, Love Hina was pretty good.

Will there be a Season 3 or is it still hanging in the balance?

I personally don't know. For the last 2 latest episodes, some people say their special episodes and some people say their the first two episodes to season 3. I wish I knew more than that. But other then that information, I really hope they start/finish season 3 soon!

Right now no one knows. There have been statments that the director is interested in doing a third season, but no believable rumours of it actually starting.

I'm not sure if I believe this or not, but there is one interesting hint of future possibilities. During the ending credits of Fighting Wings there are two established characters shown who have never appeared in any of the anime adaptations... so far. ;)

That information is unknown, although many speculations have been wandering around the web. Fujishima has never stated that a 3rd season was to start, considering the guy has other projects that he is working on at the moment.

Not sure if this has been posted before, and I'm sorry if it has, but I have a question.
Has AMG been dubbed, and if so, where can I watch it?
Yes, I have googled, ect., but none has given me solid proof that it has been dubbed.

Furthermore, since I just got into the AMG anime, can someone tell me all the episodes/manga/books that are out so far?

Wikipedia will help you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ah_My_Goddess

As for the dubs, you can watch them on DVD. Asking about downloading licensed anime is prohibited here.

Kleo Scanti

Prohibited as well.
I'm not sure if someone uploaded dubs for streaming anyway.

Unfortunatly they have, why anyone would want to watch the dub is beyond me TBH since it's beyond sucking.

As for season 3, i doubt it any time soon. Nether season 1 or 2 did as well as was expected sales wise, and it pretty much panned in the west due to the various issues with the publishers. So at the moment there's no incentive to make a 3rd season.

I think we're more likely to get a series of OVA's over a season, and it needs them badly after the way the just stopped the last OVA right in the middle of the good part. Talk about screwing up the ending sheesh

Is there a differance between Ah! My Goddess and Oh! My Goddess?

Kleo Scanti
2009-09-02, 07:48
Depends on what you call "difference". There is only one title in Japanese, which is "Aa! Megami-sama!" Different parts of it were translated differently into English, but it's still the same story with the same characters.

it's the old you say tomato i say tomato (lol that dont work right when written, but you get the idea), thing. The debate has never been settled, and probably never will be, especially since Fujishima has chomped and changed his mind over which is right as well

I grew up with the manga calling it Oh My Goddess. So unless I'm specifically quoting the anime series I almost always calling anything related to the series by Oh My Goddess. Not like it really matters but that's what I grew up saying/writing so I just go by that myself.
