And those are really nice legs. In 2009 I'd either forgotten or hadn't really noticed Yuki's legs...then there was that episode of Haruhi-chan were they went with realistic/normal Haruhi artwork for the shower silouette...really showed off her legs.

I don't think I will; I was always under the impression that what made a manga a doujin was the fact that it contained hentai. Or maybe I've just always subscribed to especially vague definitions of both terms.
I DO know that I'm not about to look up the actual definition of either term while I'm at work, though. <_<

'Doujin' is short for 'doujinshi,' which is roughly equivalent to the English term 'indie.' All it really means is that something was produced without the aid of a publishing company. It's often based on a commercial work, but it may be entirely original. It can also be applied to games (Touhou) and music. Whether or not it contains explicit content is independent from the term itself.

yep, pretty much. there's also Doujin soft, which are doujin games. Examples would be: Higurashi/Umineko and even more famous, Touhou Project
and so we don't go off too much off topic, here's something else I found on pixiv, someone tell me, is this kyon or Koizumi, cuz I'm having trouble telling, though I think it's Koizumi :heh:

We're dealing with the tallest guy in the series and one of the shortest girls, after all, and Nagato's barely taller than Mikuru. :heh:Yeah, but he's ussually not portrayed as THAT tall. Here there's a good 3-4 inches before the top of Yuki's head even reaches Itsuki's shoulders. If Yuki is 5'1 here, Itsuki is VERY safely north of six feet. :heh:
I guess some people like drawing couples like that. Seems to emphasize masculine/feminine characteristics more. (who was the pixiv artist btw?)

Nagato's also kinda slanted in the picture... hmm... there's a moment in the montage during the Adventure of Mikuru movie where Yuki is hugging Itsuki from the side(all part of the movie, nothing at all to do with them potentially being a couple... hence my using Yuki and Itsuki instead of Nagato and Koizumi), with Mikuru freaking out... I remember her actually being quite short compared to him there. I'd take a screenshot myself, but I can't ever seem to remember where I put things. :heh:
Anyone mind doing me a favor and getting that? I promise I won't stab you... or bite... or light you on fire... or... how about we just go with "I won't do anything bad," okay? :heh:

A big part is because her head isn't larger than Itsuki's like in the anime. The anime had the girls drawn less proportionally tall than the guys. If you keep the proportions but keep the heads to scale more or less, you end up with the guys towering over the girls. (you also have the occasional illustrations/screen caps in the anime where it's REALLY obvious the girls have larger heads).

Boy, Itsuki is super smooth with his hand placement. First on Mikuru on page 786 (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=3587164#post3587164) (both hands, because if he was really trying to carry her correctly, his right hand would be under her knees), and now he's feeling up Yuki. (You can tell it's intentional because that arm is slightly forward, rather than at his side like the other one.)
For shame, Itsuki.

Well, it wasn't so much me as the approach of the Grim Reaper. The family piggy saw its end coming somehow, screamed, and keeled over dead. One of the weirder experiences of my life.

Tsuruya's popularity would definitely increase. I don't see Mikuru's popularity getting anywhere close to Haruhi's or Yuki's though even after Intrigues being animated.
I would presume that the third season(which I really hope gets announced this fall) would also include some Nagato-centric stories too(Charmed At First Sight, Editor In Chief Straight Ahead) and Snow Mountain Syndrome.
I wonder how popular Kyouko and Fujiwara will be once they are animated. I bet we'll be seeing more Fujiwara fan-arts.
I can already imagine the yaoi fangirls to be alll over that one.

Nah, you're just observant (at least about the second part). But I'm curious about what you meant with Mikuru. What do you see right about this picture (where papers are covering pretty much all of her chest) that was done wrong in other pictures?
You see, in the novels Mikuru is described as having large breasts. In the cover for volume two, you can see it perfectly. However, when you look at the later illustrations as Itou's art style evolves, you start to notice a change in the whole art. In one of the illustrations, the breasts are kind of sagging to the sides and significantly smaller.
Really, the only reason is probably because of the change in art style, or should i say evolution of Itou's art style. However, I am a very picky person when it comes to details, and this change just didn't sit well with me. When I compare the image version from volume 9 to this new one, even though her breasts are covered, I can kind of get an idea of what it looks like without the papers in front of her.
I know I said I'm just a pervert, but really it was just that I am a person who likes it when anatomy stays consistent in illustrations, unless the art was horrible. Which wasn't a all btw, I am just picky :heh:
And no I didn't dislike ti because I prefer large breasts, those aren't my preference anyways :heh:

Well, unfortunately it's not a new image :heh: it was a color illustration from volume 9 released back in 2007. I'm not sure any of the illustrations in these new volumes play up Mikuru Oppai.

Definitely not as much as Haruhi made it up to be...but honestly? She's still cute as a button, and I consider this one of the best depictions Noizi has done of Mikuru. But on the times where Itou has given Mikuru a bit more...ooomph? I'm not sure I liked it 100%.

It just feels there's a LITTLE bit to much considering how big Mikuru's body is here...Big is nice, but at a certain point it starts to get unmanageable. Perhaps she could transfer a bit back to Tsuruya :heh: (though strangely, I'm finding myself being influenced by not requiring massive oppai to find Tsuruya AMAZINGLY attractive here! Though it might be just because she's in a bikini. God, why doesn't Tsuruya get more fanservicey illustrations?)
As far as Mikuru being well endowed is concerned, I generally have liked the anime illustrations better at this portrayal.

I agree. Mikuru should be "enough bigger than Haruhi to be noticeable" but not "OMG huge".
It would be weird if in Mikuru's time the majority of desirable women were flat chested, and thus Mikuru(BIG) is considered unattractive due to her large breasts. Especially weird if Haruhi is responcible for style and tastes in the future (unless the tastes of the future are in place to counter the fetishes of the god empress Haruhi.)

As far as I can tell, Ryouko and Ritsu were fighting over the last cookie, then Yuki intervened and transformed Ryouko into a shamisen when Haruhi asked for an instrument to play. After Haruhi put aside the Ryouko-shamisen in favor of a fishbone-guitar like Yui's, Ryouko is restored to catgirl form and gets comforted by Mikuru.
Ah, I was wondering what happened to Ryouko (probably should have looked at the color of the guitar)

It is! I like the way she's been drawing Haruhi recently, she looks very calm.

It is therefore more likely in my view it is Yuki and the artist has simply taken a different approach to her expression and mood. Having said that I can also see a lot of Sasaki in this image as their hair isn't really that different in terms of either style or length and the choice of expression for Yuki is just as opposed to her character as the choice in outfit for Sasaki.
So by all means people, please feel free to contradict me as I really don't know a lot about Sasaki having not read the books and only having a few images to go off.

Well, Yuki is simply wearing her summer outfit (as seen on Mysterique Sign). The hair is slightly longer than usual...perhaps this picture takes place during the second summer, and Yuki's emotions have developed enough for her to smile.

Perspective is harder to figure out when the other 3D cues such as parallax are absent--the lack of parallax tricks the brain into thinking it is viewing a scene with no depth.

But yeah. You gotta be careful with how you handle perspective in when handling 2d images. Cause otherwise you get things like that one illustration, which probbaly lead ALLOT of people to believe that Yuki was smaller than even Yuki! :p
