Utawarerumono - Requests for new threads

Since the Utawarerumono forum is now limited (only Mods and Admin can create new threads), this thread serves as a way to request a new thread to be created.

Please post here if you wish to request a new Utawarerumono thread. Please bear in mind that we will only accept reasonable requests, we wish to maintain the focus within the forum and cut down on the noise (so no pointless threads cluttering up the place).

Don't forget that you may still post in existing threads as usual, the only restriction is that you may not create new threads within this particular forum.

Fully agree. I expected to see a thread in the Games forum but couldn't find one.

If you want (assuming you know or played the game), please create a thread in the Games forum and it can be moved across into this forum.

We do plan to create the usual threads so give us a day or so to sort ourselves out. It seems there's a problem with accessing this new forum (same problem (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=31036) we had when the Kashimashi was created), tsk!

Ooops sorry I haven't. I just happened to be the first one around here and though about the usual spoiler problem in other similar sections. (cough-Fate/Stay Night-cough)

Future Ep Synopsis and Series Prediction thread... with no spoilers...

Simple reason for having 2 threads instead of one... people (like me) get scared off when seeing too many spoilers... and don't really feel like posting in the thread...

Also if there is a separate Spoiler QA thread then the normal FAQ thread can be used for everything else and people won't be afraid to check it out (fearing spoilers)

The third reason is that usually spoiler discussion is usually so "productive" (considering the F/sn and Haruhi thread) that it should have its own thread...

Started to respond to this post, and then realized that Xellos-_^ was already on target with an answer. Anyway, in the credits their names are given as ドリイ and グラア, which should romanize as Dorii and Guraa.

I don't think it's automatic... if you look at the Sticky section you'll notice that threads have been created by different people... for example Ep10 and Ep11 by Catgirls... Ep12 by eks-ris...

If you want images (of the "SEXY Men in Utawarerumono" or otherwise), then you could post in the Utawarerumono Image Thread (wallpapers, fan art, gifs, etc.) (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=31632) thread. If you want to discuss such a topic then you could post in the Utawarerumono - うたわれるもの (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=27496) thread since that's meant for more general discussion.

If you are asking for a "fan-club" type thread, then the answer is no. If you are asking for a "Character Discussion" thread, then it is possible but I would like to see more support for such a thread before it gets created.

No, in context, what I mean by a fan-club type thread is a thread specific to one character (as we have in the Shuffle forum), this type of thread seems to have a very low signal to noise ratio. At least with a Character Discussion thread it allows discussion about any and all of the characters from the series (and so far in practice such threads have had more actual discussion than the typical fan-club thread). The difference might not seem that great but as mentioned we don't seem to have the same "problems" with Character Discussion threads as we do with fan-club threads.

The question here is that do we actually need a Character Discussion thread? Not sure there is an actualy need for one.

Fair enough, this sounds like a good idea. Please note that currently we consider the specails as licensed (while we don't have proof of this, they most likely will appear on the ADV DVD release as extras).

Oh yeah...since we don't want or need to vote on every character, can someone make a list of what they think are the main or core group of characters. It can be more than 10, but probably should be less than 15 characters. Since this show was licenced, I have stopped watching it and have deleted all fan-subs, so my character knowledge might not be up-to-date.

I'm curious to know if we should have a "Utawarerumono's Favorite Villian" poll or not. Probably unnecessary. But the series has had a good amount of opponents to stand in Hakuoro's way - presented in a manner similar to sci-fi shows (the alien of the week!). Voting can be based on looks, charisma, voice, ability to intimidate the show's protagonist/s, laughter, you name it. = P

Only opponents that appeared in 2 or more episodes are listed here. Recall the following:

- Nuwangi (Eruruu's childhood friend, appears episode 1, 3-7)
- Inkara (fat guy that previously led the country Hakuoro leads now, appears episode 5-7)
- Niwe (Emperor of Shikeripetim, infamous for laughing with a 'K', appears episode 9, 13-16)
- Orikakan (Emperor of Kutcha-Ketcha, almost succeeded in breaking Hakuoro if not for Eruruu, appears episode 11-13)
- Suonkas (Emperor of Na Tunk, does the Romeo routine for Karura, appears episode 18-19)
- Hauenkua (advisor for Kunnekamun, believes in dominating the world with a steel fist, loves to kill, appears episode 20-24)
- Hein (advisor for Kunnekamun, believes in uniting the world through conquest, appears episode 20-24
- Dii

I didn't include Mutsumi because her intentions are unclear, Kuuya because she's too three-dimensional that everyone will pick her, and Mutikapa because...come on -_-!

Perhaps we should wait till the end of the series, and anyone who's still a villain by then could be included in the favourite villains poll, meaning Benawi and Touka would be out.

Essentially zero villains were included in that poll, which is why I favored a 'Favorite Villains' poll--it gives those who couldn't fit into the main poll a chance. Including characters from the main poll would negate the point.

Of course, if there were room I wouldn't mind Benawi, Touka, and Kuuya being included (all of whom become non-villains), but not all three will fit.... As it is, I wonder how many villains will receive zero votes--some of them had so little air time or impact on the audience that they barely rate. Villains can receive praise (votes) for being cool, or evil, or devious, but many of the Uta villains just seem like mediocre cannon fodder. Mid-Boss Syndrome, I guess.

We could go with something like 'Favorite Character (part two)'. Then we don't have to worry about trying to classify who is a villain. Plus, it would let us exclude less notable villains while giving secondary characters like Mukkuru, Gachatara, Sakuya, and Chikinaro a chance (Mukkuru/Gachatara would probably receive more votes than Inkara/Nuwangi).

The Strategy-RPG based on Utawarerumono has been translated into English. You can get the translation patch for the game here (http://mirrormoon.org/node), although you will still need to get the actual game to use it (several buylinks are provided on that page.)
