I'm in love with the OP. It brings the atmosphere of the show to me wherever I am. This is one of my favs as far as songs that give off the perfect song for the show's setting.

I feel the ED is a lot more powerful as a song than the opening, which seemed a bit too happy-go-lucky for the show. The ending has this eerie exotic feel to it, and portents something supernatural with it.
Hmm, maybe one we get a lil' bit more into the series - a second OP might show up, something that'll be more suited for whats going on.

The OST to the game is something i really need to order.

With regards to the OP Single, I am actually really glad they got rid of the 'swords sounds' at the beginning. They just didn't seem to fit IMHO.

Anyone knows what is the second song is the OP CD? Is that an insert song? It's growing on me even more than the OP.Well, it's customary for OP/ED Singles to have a second song on the disc - usually, it's just something else from the artist that they wanted to throw out there. I imagine it's to make the ~$9-10 purchase seem more worthwhile, and also to showcase a bit more about the artist (in the hopes that you'll buy more albums from that artist in the future). Usually the second song is a different style than the first one, just to add a bit of variety. Sometimes that song ends up as an insert in the show in question, but most of the time it's just a standalone bonus song. And yeah - it is sort of funny when the bonus song keeps your interest longer than the main one does. :p

I love both the OP and ED very much. For Musou Uta; its has such a catchy, almost meaningful tune. For Houshi Sou Yakyoku and Madoromi no Rinne the powerful vocals really carry the songs very very nicely. If I was asked to rate them as favourites; it would be 1) Houshi Sou Yakyoku 2) Madoromi no Rinne 3) Musou Uta.

I placed Houshi first because I think the vocals for that one are the best done, and Madoromi over Musou because I prefer slower/ more traditional/ more meaningful songs and I think Madoromi has those over Musou Uta. Nothing wrong with Musou tho. Still need my daily fill of it. :)

In my opinion.
Both OP/ED are intensely influenced by traditional japanese music.
That makes them catch the heart of the listeners, and I am not the exception.

ED theme is very very elegant, and somewhat supernatural. It reminds me about the one of Great Japanese New Age Musicians.

I know a couple of the lines came out exactly the same as the TL that Yesy is using in their subs, but I swear that's a coincidence. Although, I got those lines by going through my finished lyrics and revising them for proper grammer, and tweaking them to fit the original rhythm a little better. It's good to know I'm not the only one that does that.

Well I am just taking a swing out here and hope just editing works but I'll leave a small discripiton of what I did have here (.... or hope its short anyway :( ). I did post a long section here with the lerics (sorry, can't spell to well :P) to the opening theam copied from hooliganj and zalas giving them full credit for their posts that I thought were from a different sight but just a different format form this sight (....I think) so I thought it was something new and when I checked out this page I did not realize there were more pages to the one I was looking at, I thought I was looking at the last but it was the first :( but oh well I'll get the hang of this form thing sometime :P see yous later

Listening to the full version of Madoromi no Rinn now, the first part really outshines the real ED we listen to.. I like the little "extended" start. Except for the short preceding electric guitar part (tho I'm guessing it will grow on me), I like even more the second part of the song, after where the anime leaves off! For me what makes this song is the vocals, the way it goes near desperate at some parts. Hmm.. not really desperate.. reminescent? reflective? Hmm..

ZOMG... Sen no Umi.. was it the one I was hearing in episode 8 when Eruruu and guests visited the town??? OMG.. its beautiful; sublime; argh, but vocals go off here and there.

After hearing it to the finish: the first part of Sen no Umi really impressed me.. but vocals :( Nice nice tune tho. I think I'll listen to the off-vocals one more often :)

Overall : 5/5 :D

Someone mentioned the possibility of changing the OP...

I don't know if that's going to happen, but I will be extremely disappointed if it does. I've grown to love the OP. No other opening I've seen blends violence and happiness so seamlessly. Also, the sign of a good OP is that you can watch it hundreds of times without getting bored of it. I haven't. In fact, playing The Sims 2 I use the OP as a movie file that can be watched on the Sims' TV.

Because I can't seem to stop listening to 'Towa ni' and 'SADAME'...

Also, the lyrics of the songs are so apt..and suits the mood so well, given the scenarios the songs play in.

The game had a really rich sound palette and thus gives it a nice atmosphere, even though it had no voices. The anime soundtrack is nice also, but it evokes a different feeling. The game had that high fantasy element to it, which the anime brings out more of a war/medieval fantasy one.

I thought the game OST had its warlike moments too..but its a bit of a shame that it wasn't emphasized on. Maybe that's why a fantasy themed track (Kami . Yuu) outshined them IMO.

In any case, the anime OST is doing great, especially with that particular track they play when you see Hakuoro first wake up..any news on an OST coming? Or are they going to package it with their DVDs(I hope not)

Actually I'm not into buying animesongs CDs. Too expensive and the B-sides are usually ridiculous. Though I bought Higurashi ED and Yumetsukai OP because they were so addictive. :heh:

My point is I suppose that Madoromi no Rinne is worth the buy. :cool:

When you watch the OP as obsessively and repetetively as I do, you start to notice little things you never did before:

-Eruruu and Aruruu's namesake flowers are on the right foreground before the camero closes up on Hakuoro and the girls.

-When Aruruu and Mukuru jump of the cliff, you can actually see two armies meeting on the field. I didn't notice this before because it was so quick. The two armies are Tusukuru (of course) and--

-Shikeripetim is the enemy army the heroes fight. There is no way we could have known this until episode 9 and beyond.

-Back to the Mukuru cliff-jumping scene. The army on the left is Tusukuru while the one on the right is Shikeripetim. You can tell because their formation is slightly reddish and much bigger.

-When Benawi takes out the first two cavalrymen, he breaks both of their weapons.

I have also been debating with myself over whether Oboro kills six men or five men in the OP. It looks like he's making one last sword swing, but that swing looks like it could have connected with an enemy he struck before. What's your opinion?

For the record, the series ending song is called キミガタメ (Kimi ga Tame) by Suara - the same lady who sings the OP. Translated, "Because of You". Very fitting...

Yep that album above sure has a lot of goodies that I didnt expect(was just waiting for the PS2 game OP which is Track 1 BTW). Now just for the remake of Sadame(the Ep3 song)by Yuzuki Ryouka, possibly even a full-length version in the OST!

Now that you mention it, I never knew there was a song when they were kissing. For some reason it really reminds me of the game ending song.

Someone unaware of the rules might post a song and then get banned for it, and that'd be bad. Nvm sorry about that. Wow, when I got this, I didn't realize it was 7 minutes long. There are so many songs now a days that are less then 4 minutes, maybe even 3. This one truely exceeds expectations and deserves to be categorized as a song. It doesn't even feel dragged on. After all, while duration may not be the only factor in the quality of a song, it certainly can't deter from it if it keeps the same quality throughout the whole length. It's much easier to make good music in short bursts then a whole commercial break.

I'm usually very cynical about things, but this is one song that got to me. Props to the singer Suara I think.

I have to admit, i was a lil' shocked with the OST being two discs.. but looking at the lengh for most of them, it makes sense. So far i'm half way through and remembering each & every track - its got the making to actually appear as one of my fav' musical scores.

Kimi Ga Tame is my anthem of the year. I would declare it the best song of Utawarerumono, even without listening to the OST. It carries such sadness, and yet, such up-raising hope for life to come. It encompasses the determination and will to carry on in the midst of sorrow and grief.

yea I like kimi ga tame as well but the thing is... I still want the translation for english I mean not to be rude but I think the japanese lyrics are great but I just wanna know what she is saying for english translating..... when I had found this son on www.gendou.com I was suprised how it came out for it sample lol I am totally an anime fan.. to a anthro fan ( for you people that don't know what anthro is.... think of a werewolf except more anime without any human in them all anthro is is humancharacteristic for a animal if ya'll wanna see an example I can post at least a clean one on here ( hint I do have dirty pics XP..known for hentai... hehehehe:p )

Musou Uta is possibly my favourite OP of all time - and I love a lot of OPs. While being bouncy and happy-go-lucky (Which is the sort of music I'm attracted to), it also captures the setting and culture of the Utawarerumono series and is really addictive. T___T; I've listened to this song an unhealthy ammount of times.

The ED is also very beautiful, but not the kind of music I would choose to listen to. However, I did give it the dignity of being played through to the end after episodes, because as has been mentioned, it's entirely fitting for the series. Really traditional and mythical.

lol true that but I would like to see the series but its not fair because I don't have a credit card :( if only of there was someone one out ther that is willing to get me the first box set of utawarerumono.. I am trying so hard to become a full fledged anime fan
