View Full Version : Bleach, the Movie (Memories of Nobody)
To much fanservice being given out.
If you want to include the participation of other characters, then formulate a plot that can inter-connect characters.
Like it's getting kinda redundant how Hitsugaya appears to always be heading some kinda group or whatever, and for the same reason, "because no one else wanted to do it".
I like the movie(?), well some parts certantly deserve merritt, but the others, out weight the good parts.
Oh and the anime writers have got to stop springing up Bankai's like it's a way of celebrating. It's irritating to say the least.
Oh and best line in the entire movie goes to Byakuya...
"Be proud that you will be destroyed by my Bankai"
I was like o_O, someone just got owned.

Fanservice = bad? For me a movie is the best time to put out much fanservice, because 1) you can get in more shots and 2) they don't have to fit with the current plot. About Hitsugaya, there's always a reason. It makes sense for him to be picked on since he's probably the weakest of all captains and all the dirtywork goes to him. Also, he's probably one of the captains that were most explored and is most versatile to use without worrying about plot conflicts later. The reason why there isn't an inter-connecting plot for the captains is because they don't want to accidentally connect anything that might be contradicted by the manga later on. This is why they will only appear out of nowhere and do nothing but to provide fanservice.
What's wrong with Bankai's? It's a movie for an action anime, so there's nothing wrong with using the most powerful moves in my opinion. The plot of the movie was good and I don't see many bad points unless I want to deep fry it and pick it apart minute by minute.
sheesh, just how many deminsions are there? you got the real world, soul society, heuco mundo, and now screaming valley, not to mention wherever those bentos are from.
Fanservice = bad? For me a movie is the best time to put out much fanservice, because 1) you can get in more shots and 2) they don't have to fit with the current plot.
How old can you possibly be? Fanservice is totally unnecessary, it's like putting a something into a painting just for the sake of pleasing someone, even though it doesn't make any coherant sense, or the reason why it's placed is totally redicoulous.

Also, he's probably one of the captains that were most explored and is most versatile to use without worrying about plot conflicts later.
It's because of his raging popularity in Japan, which most Shonen based movies now are just about, popularity. In any case, the kid is a 2 by 4, he's to busy trying to make himself appear older, that he loses his own sense of personal motivation.
The reason why there isn't an inter-connecting plot for the captains is because they don't want to accidentally connect anything that might be contradicted by the manga later on. This is why they will only appear out of nowhere and do nothing but to provide fanservice.
Oh noes, as if Shonen movies weren't a contradiction on themselves, some of them don't even plausibly fit into the timeline of their respective animes. In any case, if the writers of anime, who where bold enough to decide to bring up the Bounts, of which the story relies heavily on the past of the Soul Societ, some of which tie into current Captain's past, then they could at least, make something which for the most part, isn't purely based upon, "Oi, Ichigo! We can't let you have all the fun".

You know what really, really sucks, when you see them automatically resort to using their Bankai, only to get their asses kicked, and then to be saved by someone. That is horrible, and recycled plot writing. Sheesh, I can't wait to see further Bleach magna/episodes, Grimmjow releasing every time he sees a fly skitter across his sight.
I liked the movie, was a different approach to Bleach mainly on the emotional side of thought. It was a bit sad that Senna disappeared and that no one would remember her.
The action was ok but they didn't need to show that many captains in the movie like sure it's cool seeing them but watching them fight for 10 or 15s is very boring.

I will agree that they didn't need to show that many captains, but Soifon and Byakuya's appearances were indeed cool.
Fanservice is totally unnecessary, it's like putting a something into a painting just for the sake of pleasing someone, even though it doesn't make any coherant sense, or the reason why it's placed is totally redicoulous.
What were you expecting? Major plot advances? New power ups? Big plot twists that make you go "OMG"? The movie was never meant to make any coherent sense in the first place. You're just supposed to watch it as a one shot entertainment, that's all.
Sides, fan service is everything in a movie. You're charging fans for the movie, isnt it common sense that you would put something in to please them, just so they'll come see your movie?

I cannot agree with you more! The emotional aspect of the movie, to me, is what made it better. You usually recognize Bleach as a comical shonen...but this story was just very intriguing. Senna is definitely a filler character that needs to be put into future fillers some how, I liked her a lot. Also, about the captains...I actually liked watching them pop out from here and there. I didn't need to see Wabisuke in action, that could have been left out, but Bya/Soi/Zar were quite fun to watch even if it was for a short while.

we shouldnt forget, that the movie has to work with people who dont know the anime oder manga(note that the sub even explained what "reiatsu" is), and there is not really time to explain backgrounds or motivations of each character
The sub was made by fans, not by the makers of the movie. The movie was meant for people with prior background of bleach obviously, ( or they'd had no idea what the hell was happening ) and probably even the manga, since when the movie was released, rukia's shikai had not been shown in the anime.
Pretty avarage movie, made me yawn here and there.
Nothing really worth seeing, but just good enough to keep watching.

Another crappy movie where the author just write some random things and put them togther and with lots of plot hole, that equals Bleach the movie. I would give a 4/10 this was just bad, the fight scene were just bad and the story bored me.

I liked the movie, if I had to give it a number rating odds are it would be an 8/10. The main reasons why I did enjoy it seems to be due to the emotional angle that they played with Ichigo and Senna.
I didn't mind the combat scenes really, I already knew that if they focused on a few people instead of alot of folks that it would end up being the same old battle that you would expect. They were kept short and sweet and only Ichigo's battle had any length to it really. Anything else was just to show that they were outclassed really and the other Shinigami were playing with them for the most part.
Even before they really didn't get to fight it out when they took Senna in the first place, they just kinda took Senna and ran. If they would of battled it out there i'm sure the movie would of ended there instead.
I guess I didn't expect much going into the movie, I didn't think the movie would make me love the series any more or less and I didn't expect something to come from the movie that would have any lasting impact on the series. So overall I was impressed. How will the 2nd movie turn out is what I wonder.
The soundtrack for this movie was actually quite nice, they even reused some songs from the anime series which was good. I hate it when other movies such as Naruto recreate a whole soundtrack and most of the songs end up being horrible :|
I really liked the song played towards the end between Senna and Ichigo, was quite a touching song called 'Into the fire'.
you guys think that if Senna becomes popular in japan she could come out on future bleach fillers?

Yeah I liked this movie. Certainly trumped some of those Naruto movies we'd seen (circus animal one...yeah sure). Did like the emotional aspect of this one and how sad it was at the end when Senna had to go. Sure I expected her to die since they wouldn't want to mess with the series overall so she had to vanish in some form, but it was still sad when the time came.
Certainly Senna was one of hte best characters they've made outside of the manga following series. She certainly was a great person and a good balance of fun and caring like for that kid. Besides she certainly knew how to make a scene to be sure :).
The bad guys were my only knock on this. I couldn't figure out what the heck they were thinking. You want to rule soul society by blasting two worlds into oblivion? Did that guy even have a plan other than being a jerk? The motivation for them was kind've outside my thoughts but oh well.
Overall not a bad movie at all. Give the makers of this props for doing a nice job in making an enjoyable one. 8/10
movie was alright i suppose but it's clear senna isn't ichigos daughter.
Think about it,
1 ichigo still went to school and he is a senior (not a lot of time pass)
2 Ichigo caught her ribbon at the end so it's not as if it was 9 months from when he dropped it, lol.
3 Senna has got ichigos eyes by coincidence. I mean c'mon, kubo is running out of storylines in the manga and colour schemes in the movies lol.
4 senna is made up of just memories as rukia stated.
5 if ANYBODY some random illogical reason is her mother, then it would be tsuki, dead people can't mate with living people unless ichigo uncovers than he's a sick necromancer.
what became of senna?
Who the hell knows? A very good speculation is that she got reincarnated but then she would have been a baby and ichigo would be around 27 in order to see her the age she was.
BUT, remember she had memories...hmmm ichigo never lost his memories of senna at the end so who was the title referring to?! Clearly it's about SENNAs memories as we've seen throughout the whole movie.
WHO IS SENNA? THE SAME PERSON WE SAW THROUGHOUT THE MOVIE WHO LOST HER MEMORIES. SHE DOESN'T REMEMBER ICHIGO SO HE'S THE "NOBODY" IN THE TITLE. I'm sure that senna is still the same person but with a wiped memory. So it's a happy ending i suppose (compared to death lol)
Edit:i forgot, she said something like "my name should be on the gravestone" yeah well, she never died in the first place so have course her name isn't on the stone. Another theory is that she for some reason travelled through the spiritual gap and got lost there and accidently absorbed the memories...yeah right...

Can anyone tell me what happened did the yamato cannon do? I thought it was suppose to liquidate everything.
FlareKnight
2007-09-12, 16:44
Yeah personally thought the cannon thing was odd. Firing it was supposed to destroy the space and would lead to damage to both Soul Society and the human world. But in the end it just busted up that place.
In terms of the title I thought it was referring to Senna. If Ichigo has kept that memory then it would be memories of nobody, of someone who in everyone's mind never existed.
In temrs of her fate. Is possible she was reborn or her soul joined a body that was already at that age. Certainly a lot better to believe she had a chance to live a real life and have more than the collection of memories she received from the people who became blanks. Just better overall to think she didn't just fade into nothingness never to be remembered which would be a sad thing.
Yeah the Ichigo being her father thing was just a theory that came from seeing trailers. Probably along the lines of her coming from the future kind of thing. In the end the plot was a different thing.

Personally I thought it was just average...storyline was decent up to a certain extent...and the cannon thing was really messed up...
Storyline absolutely boring and predictable. Fight scenes sub par. Having so many captains around just seemed completely forced. I'm also getting really annoyed at the fact that nobodies can fight on par with shinigami captains, even making them bring out their bankai. 4/10.

i was tricked :( I thought this was gonna be actually good from some reviews i saw. Anyways, it was alright. Honest to god, my favourite part was seeing Kenpachi fight :D
Yes, Kenpachi being in it was awesome, just a shame they gave him such a useless opponent.
Would've been better if just Kenpachi sneaked away from the captains meeting on his own to fight alongside Ichigo imo.
The movie overall was pretty meh with some good moments.

::shrugs:: I find it unlikely, the only series I know to take movie characters and put them into the series is Dragonball Z (Garlic Jr)

predictable? maybe.
boring? nah. But entertainment is in the eye of the beholder :p
"Nobodies" fighting on par w/ Shinigami Captains, I don't see you're arguement, cause you don't know who has what kind of strength when they're unknown. I hardly consider those fights as fighting "on par" since they got wiped out pretty quick.
Yes, Kenpachi being in it was awesome, just a shame they gave him such a useless opponent.
aye...I'm suffering from Kenpachi Withdrawl Syndrome...the Released Sword Frenzy he didn't get to do anything except run around =\ and in this movie...he got to fight, but the fanboy in me was let down w/ the crappy opponent.
Yeah personally thought the cannon thing was odd. Firing it was supposed to destroy the space and would lead to damage to both Soul Society and the human world. But in the end it just busted up that place.
Well the cannon apparently destroyed the space as I believe it was Rukia that said "the Blanks' power is about to run out." The Valley of Screams is where they come from...so if it's not there, they have no power, they do not exist I guess. As to firing the cannon...I believe it was said it could damage both worlds.
Someone mentioned plot holes, I can only think of one. When did Ichigo get Kon's modsoul pill back after ole' dude took it for analysis? o.O
I give the movie a 8/10 for the drama angle that went with it. I'm also kinda glad it wasn't a complete sad ending. I'm gonna assume that Senna did exist at some point, but her body was chosen to be a vessel for memories, chosen by what/who? ::shrugs::
I don't know what yall are talking about on this one. I'd compare this to Inuyasha movie one, or even the first Naruto movie. Sure, the fights were pressed for time and sometimes you didn't get to see all the action you wanted, but the emotion was there. The story was on par with what you would expect from the series and all, but this made me feel something overall. I mean, when Ichigo is standing there over the grave with Senna on his back, and shes fading away...
"I'll see you again right?"
"Don't be dumb. Of course you will."
*sniff*
predictable? maybe.
boring? nah.
Ok, who didn't figure out Senna was the Memory Rosary? Completely predictable.
Boring: very, because the storyline was so predictable.

I don't understand why anyone would defend generic characters being able to fight captains, especially when they were all obviously subordinates of another generic character. Yes, it's for the sake of the movie, but having captains fight subordinates is laughable (except for the case of the Espada), down right disrespectful. You know, you don't have to like everything that involves Bleach, it doesn't make you a bad fan.:heh:

Let's see, Kenpachi was getting cut out of his mind, and all the other captains either released or went as far as using their bankai. Again, I know it's for the movie, but it's unbelievable that they were given such garbage opponents to fight, and even making them release. If the opponents make the captains release, then apparently that's fighting on par. This movie was very bad, and only decent at its best moment (the part where everyone flies out of the river from the Severed World).
But entertainment is in the eye of the beholder :p
Exactly, so why would you even try to argue my opinion on the movie? Give your own, but don't try to change mine cause you won't be able to.:uhoh:
Kenpachi doesn't like to fight unless he can get hurt, for all we know he was letting that guy do what he did. As for the rest, they may well have released becuase of the time limit they were under, if nothing else.

opinions are an opening to a conversation :P you have a thought, someone has a counter thought.
Bankai = overkill, they had to end it quick, remember they only had a hour. Kenpachi didn't even need to take off his eye patch, that wasn't much for being on par. Two small cuts across the side of his face and one across his chest and a explosion that did next to nothing? I hardly consider that "being cut out of his mind."
I'll agree that it became predictable that Senna was the Memory Rosary when they brought it up, also, I'm pretty sure you would of got that from watching the movie trailers.
Can't belittle everything you know, just cause the Captains fought subordinates of the leader doesn't mean you can shrug them off.
I'll give some leeway(sp?) and say they fought the Captains on par when they were powered down. After release it was overkill. Though I think Kenpachi is never really..."powered down"
Though I think Kenpachi is never really..."powered down"
His equivalent of "powered down" is when he just stands there and lets people cut him. :heh:
Kenpachi's into the pain thing, can't judge him
The plot is good. The last scene where they went to the graveyard is really well done. It kind of wrapped up the story nicely.

They probably won't, but with her appearance as a human at the end of the movie anything is possible. Have some recovered memories, similar finding her soul reaper powers like Ichigo and your good to go.
Have to agree it topped the Naruto movies so far in my mind.
it LOOKED like her, but I doubt it was her. The fact is, even if it was her, she wouldn't remember and really he might not at all. Think Serial Experiments LAIN, end of the show, no one remembers her but the girl that was her friend almost seems to.... Worst case scenario we have Butterfly Effect, one of them remembers but the other one has no idea.

You're forgetting something -- the situation was unusual in the fact that the captains were super pressed for time. Time was obviously the biggest threat here, not their opponents. That's why they had to end everything quickly. It doesn't imply the nobodys are on par with bankai captains.

yes, no problem there, the only new thing for you will be rukias shikai
I had hear some pretty dreaful feedback regarding the movie, so my expectations were quite low when i started watching it. IT is most certainly predictable, cheeZy and contains some plot holes ind inconsistencies. Then again this is Bleach we are talking about, so that much is to be expected.
In one scene we have Ichigo's forehead bleeding (seriously, can't they be a little more creative? In every god damn fight Ichigo gets in to he always manages to get himself a bleeding forehead ... getting tired of this), then it is suddenly perfectly fine in the next one. Never mind having a sword (big knife?) pierced through his stomach - just pull it out and rawr chop chop the bad guy as if nothing happened. Where did the promised severe damage to both worlds go from that, supposedly, uuber powerful canon? The guy who got defeated by Renji was also eyebrow-rising. Before he had no problems with smashing around Zabimaru in bankai form, but in the end he simply stood there screaming. The completely lame excuse for memory wipe in the end ? I could go on, but i will stop here.
That said, this is quite far from the worst thing i have seen and despite its apparent flaws i didn't find it nearly as horrible as people make it out to be. I went in expecting some no-brainer action (the movie is still Bleach, right?), and i pretty much got what i signed up for. Could have been better, could have been worth. I certainly don't feel like i have wasted a part of my life by watching it.
And hey - at least now i can go to some romance thread and start claiming that Ichigo x Senna >>>> IxR / IxO

Finally saw this thing over the weekend...Well the first 40 mins or so nearly put me in a coma, but the second half of the movie was pretty good once all the captains came back to help Ichigo...As for the plot, uh, can't say I understand or care to understand anything this movie had to offer plotwise...Kinda tuned out on the whole memory girl stuff since it was all so meh...Honestly though the cash is in the last 35 mins of the movie and those well drawn mini-battles were pretty good...I liked Kenpachi and Soi Fong's fight the most...Hitsigaya and Renji's fight were like the same fights we've seen a million times from those two...Swirling ice, big a$$ snake sword bullying $hit :o :o...Atleast it was all drawn pretty good...The final fight was kinda quick and lacked chemistry, but the movie on whole was like a 3 episode anime arc...Wasn't great, wasn't terrible by any means, was just an above average episode of Bleach turned into a movie with more consistent animation...If you're a Bleach fan obviously it's worth the watch...
awwww.. it was a sad ending though =(
It was a good movie i did give it a rating 8/10 i enjoyed it alot!

I like this movie. The first half of the movie Senna was annoying, but it got better at the end. The movie would be perfect if it was only about Kenpachi and yachiru defeating all the enemies. The movie would of lasted only 30 minutes. 20 minutes to find Valley of Screams, with yachiru giving direction, and 10 minutes of bloodshed.
I think he lied. I believe she only had memories of the lost souls. I don't feel like explaining what I really think

Don't get me wrong, I kinda like Senna but in the first half of the movie I was annoyed because she acted like a child. The other half of the movie she grew up. I guess she acted like a child because she was carefree and didn't know who she was at the moment.

Do agree that her memories came from so many people that it's not too surprising her name wasn't on that grave. Wonder if the name Senna was from one of those people or whether it was the one thing that was her own.
Her relationship with Ichigo was a nice thing especially at the end. She was a character I really liked. Especially from her deeper moments like with discussion her enjoyment of high places or not letting that kid pass on until she had done everything she could for him. Who Ichigo ended up with never mattered much to me, but she definitely put herself at the top of the list for me.

Yeah I liked Senna to and the relationship between her and Ichigo felt very real. Liked it that we finally got to see true love from Ichigo.:)
I felt the same way. finaly some emotions came out from that serious body of his.
I really did appriciate this movie :)

I think this movie is pretty entertaining. I find that the 'Blank' is a pretty interesting concept which is unfortunately not used in the manga/anime. The ending is really touching. Ichigo carries Senna on his back till she disappears...
7/10. I'm quite pleased

I finally sat down and watched it about a week ago, and I have to say, I thought it was better than I thought it was going to be. I thought Senna added an interesting mix to things.

I found the first half of the movie to be really slow, and the second half to go way too fast...
It still gets an 8.5/10 from me, though, because of Senna. Really she was perfect for Ichigo....so sad.
Aww... poor Senna. I just watched the movie. It was decent. ^^
I really feel bad for her that she doesn't have her own memories. And that she won't ever be remembered or anything. It must suck pretty bad to know that nobody will ever remember you.
Anndd... the name on the grave.. I don't think it was hers. I was kinda hoping it was though...
Oh, I have a question then. How'd she get her appearance?
I watched the movie the first chance I got and I have to say Senna might be one of my top five as far as female characters go. Plus I wouldn't say she was forgotten by everyone, after all you know how the mind works subconciously. Ichigo could never entirely forget.
If I had to rate the movie, I'd give it a straight ten. I wanted to give it a nine but I realized I couldn't remember anything bad happening... Even the ending was kind of happy in a way.

Just watched it, and I love all the parts with Senna in it. Since most of the fights weren't really that interesting except for those already mentioned, I focused mainly on the story and Senna really had a nice disposition . . . definitely one of my favorite Bleach characters :)
Ichigo and Senna are quite the perfect match, don't you think? I mean, when she disappeared, Ichigo was nearly crying.

Wasn't great, wasn't terrible by any means, was just an above average episode of Bleach turned into a movie with more consistent animation...If you're a Bleach fan obviously it's worth the watch...
This pretty much sums up my feelings. When you think about the movie, it could have easily been 2 hours long if they wanted to take the time to explain things a little more thoroughly. Needed way more exposition on the bad guys. The fights are fine, I don't mind if they have to go to bankai right away because that's what everyone wants to see. :D The worst part of the movie is that Senna is only in the movie...

Yeah, I agree that the story and Senna carried the movie. The only memorable fight sequences would be Kenpachi's and Byakuya's. Most of the other stuff was decent (while not exceptional), but the fight between Ichigo and Ganryuu was a disappointment. Senna is a really cool character...........I liked finally seeing Ichigo with someone who likes to have fun. Orihime and Rukia have their moments, but lately Innou has been too emo and Rukia has been too serious.
The story itself was a little slow paced in the beginning, but I thought the ending was very nicely done and fitting.

I watched it again on my Zune last night while I was laying in bed, and man, Kenpachi's fight cracks me up :D
"I hate chasing people, but I ain't too bad at it"
"Can I cut you yet?"
Lmao, it was the best fight scene of the movie for me, even if it was 10 seconds long.

That, and where Byakuya emerges from nowhere to score an instant kill with Senbonzakura. With all the marathon fights Bleach has, its nice now and again to see swift, decisive victories.

Although AnimeSuki takes as a whole that when BLEACH got licensed so were the films, for those waiting for the first movie to get a R1 DVD release your prayers have been answered.
Today in a press conference Viz Media formally announced that they acquired the license rights for BLEACH, the movie - Memories of Nobody (http://www.animeondvd.com/news/pr.php?pr_view=1316). The movie will get a limited theatrical release in major cities throughout USA on summer, followed later with the DVD release on winter.

I finally watch this movie... its pretty cool, i especially the fight between Kenpachi and that unknown ninja, i actually laugh there in some scenes... Kenpachi is such a killer machine :p
A bit behind the times but I finally got a chance to see this.
Man, Senna carried this movie. I really liked her character, and it's a shame she isn't part of the actual story of the series (can we have her instead of the mod souls, please?). The ending was sad, but the scene after the credits was the perfect way to make up for it. I looked at it in a cosmic sense, Ichigo believed she was a real person, so the universe made it that way. He might be the only person to remember who she was, but at least in some way, she'll live on instead of becoming a person who never existed.
While there was a lot of crap in this movie, her character and the emotions of her story were done very well, and even though it's weird to think this, I'll miss her. :(

But I agree. Great character in the movie, but the plot kinda eliminated her from having an "alternate universe" self in the main timeline(if I'm right on assuming how that works)

Yeah but it would make the shippers fight about something new. :p
I'm not sure about her being eliminated from having another "self". Ignoring the fact that the movies aren't part of the official timeline for a moment, at the end we do see the "real" Senna, which means she could be introduced into the main story with no problem. The convenient memory wipe could explain away a lot of things, or they could take the other route and just introduce her as a new character with a new backstory (but keeping her personality from the movie intact).
Either way there would be people pointing out that she was in the movie first (and undoubtedly there would be some trying to connect the main timeline to the movie timeline because of that), but it could work. More than likely she'll never appear outside of the movie though, there's already a rather massive cast and she probably wouldn't get much time in the story anyway.
But there's nothing wrong with a little wishful thinking. ;)

I definitely support Senna as a canon character, with the same appearance + personality but different background. Somehow, she reminds me of a young Yourichi. In fact, I wouldn't mind her being some as-yet-unseen 3rd seat of a division. I DID have an idea of her popping up as the 3rd seat of the 3rd Div. Like Ikkaku, she knows her bankai (based on Saijin's bankai, but altered to become a Miroku). Since Gin was busy plotting with Aizen, and Kira is just clueless in general, she hides it just like Ikkaku.
Yeah I watched this movie a while back, animation was awesome (it is a movie after all), but I thought the story line was brilliant and I was nice to see some Ken-chan action for once, he is pwn and would most probably implode the universe if he could bankai! Kenpachi aside senna was like a breath of fresh air into the Bleach series even if she never re appears it was a bit of relif from the grim Hueco Mundo arc. Anyone else notice the anime get really.. dark since the grand fisher made his (arrancar) appearance?
Awesome movie thought if you haven't yet seen it its a must!

Ah thinking back to this one is always nice. Really did enjoy this movie and Senna was just a great character.
Been a while since I felt as sad as I did when she was fading away there. Really grateful they found a way to give her a new life to live. Would have just been too sad to have such a person just fade away. Was with Ichigo in how he felt during that.
Really is too bad she wasn't made as a cannon character. Forget Rukia and Inoue, I'd put her with Ichigo in a heartbeat. Probably why those two groups wouldn't want her anywhere near the plot :).
But really would love her in the story with the same personality. Seeing what would happen in her life now that she had a chance to live it. Think I remember hearing the anime is getting pretty close. Give some kind of Senna centered arc and I could live with that. No idea how they would work it out, but just how I feel on it.

I saw the movie kind dove sad that she sacraficed her self:(
poor ichigo
Damn this movie sucked. How can anyone like it. It had some decent moments but the ending was just incredibly cheesy. Senna was refreshing at first but in the end she was just another generic damsel in distress screaming Ichigo's name like a lunatic. Sorry but I was not moved, I'm glad she died so any chance she would become canon dissapeared.
Did I watch the same movie as everyone else? Don't understand why it gets such high praise, seems like another generic shounen movie. Easily forgetable.

I admit the movie was terrible.Very out of character,a typical and bannal story,Ichigo ignoring Rukia and Chad and Hime,Ishida appearing for like a second,Ichigo chasing Senna like a love-sick puppy.
BUT.I simply love Senna. So positive, crazy, such a lively girl which can always make you smile.
And she didn't hestitate to fight, she wasn't passive and even having so much memories she kept being strong. Her Zanpaktou is very artistic, leaves and wind is a pretty combination.

Seeing as you can't make your own threads (and thanksfully so) and this is the thread for the movie, I don't see a reason why he shouldn't "necro" this thread.
There are many other posts which could be considered far weaker...
I actually liked the movie. It's not the best of Bleach but it is quite enjoyable.
What really won me over was Senna and her story which I found to be really sad and tragic (think Blade Runner in terms what decides wether you are considered alive or not) but in a good way and it wasn't overblown. And I thought Senna wasn't as "annoying" as many other chars tend to be some or most of the time. And seeing Ichigo falling for her and then crying by her grave was very nicely done.
And seeing SS and their rigorous -and ever more dumb- laws was a change of scenery. The more I get to see from them, the better.
And it had Yachiru FTW! Seeing her skipping lightly next to the madly running villain just made my day.
Sorry for reviving this, but I decided to watch after hearing the ED theme. The movie was mediocre as expected, but Senna made it so that it didn't matter. She was too good for Bleach, and shot straight to #1 on my list. Seeing Ichigo lie at the end...made me both happy and sad.
Though I find the series is going a little slow for the past little while, I will now be a Ichigo x Senna shipper forever. Gotta keep her memory alive y'know?

I thought this was about the third one about Rukia etc. Never mind then...
I watched this a long time ago. Obviously is was pointless filler and predictable but I kinda enjoyed it. I liked Senna and I found the final scene touching. I even thought it was better than the second film. Although the second did have better fights.

Probably an hour and half of free time? ;)
Besides, I heard that Kubo actually had influenced on some of those movies, I think second and the third so we might as well watch it as ''canon filler'' then. Speaking of third, any words of that DVD release yet?

Actually KT made an omake about both movies :heh:
I uploaded it in Ridiculouse image thread.
Filler? What was it filling?
Well filler is probably the wrong word but you know what I mean. It was shorter than saying "not in the manga"
So I finally saw the movie, its been downloaded on my cpu for so long just there...so I decided to watch it. The movie was pretty decent. Senna was kinda hoot :)
It was sad though...especially the ending when her name is actually not there, so she didn't really exist? All the different memoory's she had was from different people combined in 1? ....It was nice that Ichigo does remember her at the end thanks to the ribbon and the girl running by..
Senna was a great character..lively, annoying, funny, helpful, I wish they somehow bring her into the story, although it wont happen :(
I am going to miss her :(
