I think Full Metal Alchemist is excellent and hope that the series progresses as wonderfully as it began. Studio Bones is quite something, in my opinion... they're projects seem to have a great deal of depth and maturity. To me, while FMA is on the surface a "kiddy" anime, the subjects they raise are quite profound... and unabashedly addressed without pat moralizing.

Perhaps it's because sometimes Ed and Al's relationship reminds me of my relationship with my brother, but I find this show very touching.

Thoughts?

Anybody else like this?

I'm absolutely in love with it..... although it doesn't contain as much action as something like naruto or maybe hunter X hunter, the feel of it is really pleasant..... I love the way the two brothers care for each other.....

the comics of it is real funny too.... and on top of that they manage to balance that with the sad parts like when their mother died.......

don't really know how to explain it but its balance is really well done....
besides... i think edward is kinda cute

also it goes verry deep into human emotions even the first 2 episodes how much we desire hope even if it goes over reason
and so far its only till ep 12 so im really looking forward to the rest

I love it all they way! I specially like the character Alphonse, mostly because of his awkward design.

I like it because...

it surprised me that Al's voice is done by Kugimiya Rie...the same person who did Rizel in Rizelmine ^^;

I don't know why I like it. Its like a roller coaster, it doesn't stay on the bad stuff to long and moves to the happy parts without leaving a lot of questions.
I have to save it to CD. My hard drive is so small, so small......

hahahaha.... I understand completely what you mean... my HD is really small as well especially with all that anime that I'm downloading.... I now have a small collection of about 150 CDs of anime and its still going....

Yeah, I like this anime.

I just got drawn into the first episode right at the end. Really made me want to continue watching. Although I thought the latest episode was good, not great...

In the past couple couple of months this is definately my favorite anime. And like someone had mentioned before, besides the action, I love that relationship between the two brothers.

I've seen 4 episodes so far, and I can say I like it.

For some reason though I haven't been able to "marathon" it
very well (ie. so far each time I watched it, I've watched just
one episode and moved on to something else), which is a bid odd,
but maybe that'll improve later on.

Also... the current OP and ED are GREAT! Really nice music...

Yea, this anime is one of the best i've seen. The anime itself has a great storyline and i found that it isn't as predictable as other anime. Has some great twists which i hadn't guessed would happen. Hope it keeps being subbed.

I love FMA too ^^

I got hooked to it back then when TW released the 1st chapter of the manga (which's very different from the anime). It has surpassed my expectations.

I wanna see more of Scar :D

it's a good series so far. i didn't think a series would get serious so quickly but it was a good hook to suck me into it.

going the way it is right now, it should be an excellent series.

but I thought there was already a big villain... that weird mysterious woman who keeps popping up to stir up some trouble in some town in relation to the phillospher's stone

I think scar is going to be more of the rival-like 'good' bad-guy type who is just mistaken/misunderstood, and Lust, Gluttony etc.. are the purely evil bad-guys.

yup... he is trying to do good by destroying anyone or anything related to misuse of alchemy... but i really wonder whats the deal with lust and gluttony... their kinda freaky

FMA is really amazing. Probably one of the better animes I've watched in awhile. I really like the approach they took to the religion-differences in this. I've only seen the first 5 episodes but I can't wait to see more! ^_^

I have ATLEAST 2000 CDs filled with anime.

I have 5-6 of those CD binders that hold 264CDs FILLED of anime

I have atleast 5-8 50CD spindles right now filled as well. (I'm not at home right now, so I can't count) Then I have 2 100CD spindles filled.

Along with about 460GB of Anime on my Computer 140 on another, and another and another 30 on the other one.

I also just purchased a 8X DVDRW drive along with a 4X DVDRW drive for my brother's computer, we should be having more anime soon :)

As you can see I Burn all the anime I download. Organized too :)

As for my Warez collection...that's a whole diffrent story :)

PS I just remembered we also have like a bookshelf filled with anime DVDs :)

i like FMA but i prefer naruto's music way over FMA's music. i haven't seen any other anime except these two and they both seem great. any animes you recommend me if i like naruto and FMA?

seems like the show won a special thread for peeps like us to discuss about it here :D

i got obessed with the show because of the maturity of the content; the anime address many ethnics problems that we are powerless to dealt with and the brotherly love between the 2 main characters

i would agree that they could inject some female char to accompany them but that will be a very sad case for the little brother ... :sad: (I hope he cant get any worser other than the tin suit)

I like the concept of the show. It didn't appeal to me when I first read the manga but I decided to go along with it and even watch the anime. So far it hasn't disappointed me. the anime is better IMO because it goes into backstroy and elborates moreso then the manga.

I'm not sure if anyone else does this, but when I save animes to CD I put them to VCDs and SVCDs. I've only seen three but it's the most disgusting (and still appealing) anime I've ever seen. Tsukihime doesn't even come close in my opinion.

The show was interesting for a while, then it just goes downhill from what the beginning seemed to promise. Evidently it isn't as deep as I expected, plotwise that is. The characters seem too childish in many actions, similar to the way I feel about Naruto in a whole, which leads me to this point: FMA is targeted at audiences who like Naruto, which is why I like neither as of now.

And just so you all know, I only dislike Naruto as an anime.

i think that it touched on some real deep issues, but only for an episode or two, while the rest are fairly light-hearted.
as for the manga, it goes a few volumes before it delves into the characters' pasts.
all in all, i like it quite a bit.

Full Metal Alchemist is great. It's like one of those Naruto, Kenshin serieses where the story revolves around some objective but seems to go on forever. Too bad its only going to last a year but thats good enough already.

I downloaded all 14 episodes last night in a bout of obbsessive insomnia brought on by too much chinese food..and I absolutly loved it! At first I liked it cuz the guy had a braid but the story developed into something rather dark and I grew really attached to the characters and the animation didnt cut corners at all. This has definately become one of my favorite animes I've seen lately.

The Animations and Character Designs are great.

After the first few Episodes i thought its going more into the fighting direction, but the Story changed a lot, and i really like how it is now :)

watched Episode 15 yesterday, amazing !!! best Episode so far imho.

best eps were 7 and 8 ed and al go through allot and unlike most shows it affected their actions and mentalities.
Also it hasnt gone downhill from what ive seen the characters are still developing with the same depth as before.
Best anime currently in progress imho always looking forward to the next eppisode besides the eps with the fakers that pretended to be ed and al..... those eps were kinda boring but ok
