Hello Kashima!! :) I haven't read this novel and Moeru One Man force since they are not translated in English all I know are from the spoilers I have read and I have an idea of what happens in there. I only post the images Every month a new chapter of the novel is released in Japan in Dragon Magazine this is chapter 3 the pics I posted before were from chapter 2 I will put the pics of all the chapters every month. I would like that a person will give us more information too jeje :D

After Burning One Man Force comes Tsudou Make My day but this is been released in Japan in the Dragan Magazine and at one chapter per month this one is part of the mainly stories so it continues the story, but it's not fully released I know they are for the chapter 3.

Oooohhh im soo hooked on Full Metal Panic right now.

Another thing i never understood, while reading the translated novels it often says Kaname has black hair, yet in the anime its blue/green. Is this a mistranslation?

On another note

Do you think Kaname will be the same person she was before when Sousuke rescues her?

Even if sousuke does rescue her and shes back to normal, would sousuke ever be allowed to return to school? The Forshadowing from the Former Student Council President would indicate they could never return, but what he says is not nesicarilly true.

After all thats happened is there really a chance of her and sousuke returning to school.

I realy hope this series has a happy ending like they live happy together(Might be cheezy but...)and not somehting like she cant remember sousuke, she hates him because of his past, Sousuke Dies saving her. That kind of ending would be pretty sad.

They were finally starting to open up and then all hell broke loose.

For the sake of 2 awesome characters (Sousuke, Kaname) I hope everything works out.

There are a couple ways FMP could end, at least in my head...

Happy ending: Kaname is rescued by a bad-ass Souske and both return to school together. Insert fanfics here.

Melancholy ending: Kaname is rescued by Souske and returned to school, but Souske leaves (even after the students forgive him).

Sad ending: Kaname is rescued, but Souske dies in the process. ...Kaname commits suicide?! (Just kidding!)

Or the studio could pull off something really crazy that none of us expects! :p

But we all know that bastard brother of Tessa is going down in flames after a long, drawn-out battle with Souske's new...

ARX-8 (Arbalest 2), bitch!

Yes, there is. The first gets pwned in a battle in Tokyo (near the school, I believe) by Tessa's brother (forgot his name).

At the end of the book where Sagara fights in the Mech Arena and finds out where Kaname might be hidden (forgot the name of that one too, sheesh), someone references (I think someone in Mithril) a cancelled project, saying "you could call it...the Arx-8."
You can find what I'm talking about in some thread on these very forums. I just can't remember which. Anyone care to jog my memory?

Yeah, Al was getting pretty funny when they finally offed him. He even revealed that his personality is what Sagara's would have been if he had been raised differently.

I hope in the future they consider animating the remaining books. I wonder if they would squeeze DVMD and COMO and BOFM and even TMMD all into one season, or if they would break it up into a few season.

For everyone: COMO is the book I was talking about mostly. Where Sagara & Kaname hold hands, Arx-7 gets blown away, and Sagara leaves to find Kaname.

The book after that is the one where the Arx-8 is mentioned and Sagara finds out three places where Kaname might be, only after getting shot in the gut. He's out of commission for 45 days after that, lol...

Hopefully he finds her in time to save her before she is corrupted by Leonard or something

That's what it looks like, although I wouldn't worry about Kaname too much. She's a tough girl, and I doubt any amount of money or power or pleasures would make her change her mind about anything!

Thats exactly what i was thinking...

Since Sousukes memories of Kaname were affected by Nami(her whispered powers) its possible Leonard could do the same to Kaname.

Of course when Sousuke takes down Leonard her memories would return.

But then again maybe since she is a whispered she would be protected...



I cant wait to see what happens next.

I know Burning One Man Force Summary is on these forum, but i wanted to know whats happening with the new one since its still being released monthly in some "Dragon" magazine.

I think Sousuke will be up and running on the end of the book, edging towards a second and possibly final stand off with Leonard.

I guess it's a similar slave as the two mechanical bodyguards Leonard had in TSR.

The big pilotable machines are called arm slaves, and the droids just slaves, I assume.

Yes as you said she is living like a queen at least I think so because remember what Leonard said to her when he entered in her apartment in COMO "I want you to throw away the life you have now and come with me. You don't have to worry. Of course, since I guarantee your hospitable treatment, I promise you a prosperous life to do as you please. An institution has been prepared just to fulfill your intellectual interests, and first and foremost- it is completely safe." so I suppose she has a slave and is living a comfortable life but even so... that isn't all , don't you think :(

She probalby does have a comfortable life, Leonard is doing everything he can to win her over.

Even still a strong willed girl like her wont be won over by him, She Loves Sousuke. However if she seriously tried to escape he'd probably have her killed.

Thats why Sousuke needs to rescue her.

On another note, i thought Nami told Kaname that sousuke was still alive when they have that "Ressonance" at the end of BOMF.

jumped nagh; but in defense of sagara, Clouzot has much more overall experiense than Sagara and even so Sagara can do with an M9 things that most other pilots cannot.

Now on the Chidori rescue i sure hope Sagara and her get the chance to be together in the end, i would prefere the happy ending and not the melancolic or sad ending metioned on posts above.

Agreed, IM so sick of endings where the Hero dies or its supsoe to teach us a lesson like(for example, Kaname dieing and Sousuke learning a harsh lesson on being Human).

I really hope they do get together in the end, it sure looks like it will end up that way long as Kaname doesnt get hypnotized or something.

She Loves Sousuke and Sousuke loves her too, its obvious in what they say, how they act and how they feel. But they cant be happy together until their both safe from enemies long term.

It was Wraith who was talking about the ARX-8 Arbalest 2, and she was selling it to an unknown character. If somehow someone backs up mithril and gives sasuke this armslave... Leonard wont stand a chance with his "perfect lambda driver" - btw thats why he beat sasuke, his lamda driver is teh uber powerful. I just hope that someone translates BOMF pretty soon!

welcome to this thread too for all, and for the coments I'm agree of what you said Jehuty, Chidori is a very strong girl she had demostrated it in many situations and she loves Sousuke (he is better than Leonard jeje :) ) we have to trust in Shouji Gatou because I don't want a sad ending too and for the spoiler I put before it was written by AlanWan (thanks a lot to him for that :) ) so I don't know if he write it refering to Nami or someone else. I'm waiting too for the releases of the new chapter of TMMD but I think I have to be patient until July :(

Hello everyone! Well I finished the summary of the second chapter :) sorry but I couldn't find the first one :( , but if you read this I don't think the first will be so necessary, I have put the images of this chapter before but I will put them again as a guide, well nothing more to be said only enjoy it!

In the previous chapter of TMMD Tessa was talking with Uruz 1 (Ben Clouzot) to defeat the AS of the guy of Amalgam. Obviously Uruz 1, the outstanding pilot successor of the Divine School of Hokuto, it's making his best effort in this encounter with the Amalgam guy ( this guy is the same guy that we have seen in the first chapter of Continuing on my own when Tessa visited the tombs of her parents and she met Leonard, remember the venom that was escorting him? well that pilot) but he is not making a considerable damage. At this time Tessa opened a radio chanel to the enemy AS and said to him this: "I hate to the death the 'mister I know all' as you!! said that to my brother, thanks" (the funny thing is that she said a bad word in this jejejeje :heh: but I won't put it) so imagine the reaction of the members of the Tuatha de Dannan jejejeje.
The scene changes to the place where Chidori is living and she is opposing Leonard about a movie I think :confused: (don't ask me I didn't understand this part :confused: ), well but it seems that Chidori it's ok in there she is living a comfortable life.
Later a man came near Leonard and said:
"It seems that he is still alive"
Leonard said "I understand 'he', isn't it?
and the man said "Yes, Sousuke Sagara"
And that's the end of the chapter. And for a better understanding here I put you the images.

I know what you mean!! I hate what I've dubbed the traditional "Japanese ending." Too many times, the two declare affection, then, BOOM, the other dies, and then there is that message, "Well, love goes on, and s/he sacrificed her/himself, which is just showing how much devotion s/he has..."

At least FMP's writer will give us more satisfaction, no matter what, then the Takahashi's Ranma 1/2. That one just petered out and I'm fearing Inu Yasha's ending...gah!

My prediction for the upcoming book, Get Together, is that Chidori just gives herself over to the Black Technology within her (it has tried in the past, at least in the manga), hiding within it, because she ended up hurting a lot of the people she loved and just cannot stand it. In the middle of COMO, she grew momentarily tired and weak, which is another reason why I'm thinking this. But then Sagara is gunna charge in and try to wake her up. I'm hoping some emotion pours out of him in that case. Hmm.... I cannot hope for "get away from my woman," like Inu Yasha does, but, hey, we all have our fantasies!

Hello everyone again! I finished the translation of the third chapter summary
the last chapter was about Tessa and a little about Kaname so this time is the turn of Sousuke :) As you know in the last chapter someone told Leonard about Sousuke that he hadn't died in the encounter with Kurama, that he had survived. In the beginning of this chapter we are directed to an island where Sousuke is recovering from the serious wound. He had passed six weeks rigid on a bed incapable to move a single muscle and for the wound he lost a kidney, and a part of the liver and intestine. (Poor Sousuke :( ) If you ask who has cured and transported him to the island the answer is simple, do you remember Lemon? the pretended French reporter that made a friendship with Sousuke and Nami in BOMF in Namsak. But despite the friendship made in Namsak Lemon hasn't saved the life of Sousuke for charitable spirit, his true intention is other, In fact Lemon has saved him because he wants information, he has imprisoned Sousuke to interrogate him about Mythril and Amalgam, and they are waiting for him to recover his forces, enough to be able to resist the tortures for the information without dying before the time. (how can they be so cruel??:frustrated: ).
However Sousuke isn't taking care of Lemon or his intentions he has a single thought in his head: "To find Kaname" even if that means to swim all the Atlantic Ocean (Sousuke... :love: ).
And in the end of the chapter, one of Amalgam arrives at the island and attacks with force to get rid of the hated Sagara (hey :mad: ) and Sousuke that makes a big effort to stand in foot has to fight once again for his own life.

Well that's all, I really REALLY did a hard work, it's not easy to translate, because the summaries are in other idiom (and it's not Spanish) so I did a double work and I hope you have enjoy it, it seems that the entire world is against Sousuke :( , but he is still fighting for Kaname... I admire him.. .So tell me what you think about this chapter! ahhh... and I have already put the images at the beginning of this thread

In the last manga, Kaname kissed Souske (cheek), but most people say this is uncanon. In the anime, she does not in the last episode of the first series (although she should have, in my opinion). They hold hands in the books, just before the asshat, Leotard, ruins it.

I'm really freaking pissed, and if Leotard doesn't die a very painful death, I will make sure the producers suffer as much as my heart did.

IIRC the topmost pic featuring commander Mardukas is a rip from a pic shown in the A Dancing Very Merry Christmas novel - and the lower pic shows him with his hands on his cap. I suppose it refers to Mardukas' tradition to turn his cap 180° when he is about to enter a battlezone or in dire combat situation. There is a pic showing Mardukas doing that in ADVMC and the artist, Shiki Douji, must have copied it and pasted onto the current pic with Tessa in the foreground.

Kalinin's position(lieutenant commander) is replaced by Uruz1 (his name is clouzt?) Mao is now the captain of the SRT and Kurz's position is now the one that Mao previously was.

I don't know if a number of month/weeks has been given in the novel, but I think that 3 to 4 month has past since the end of "Continuing on my own".

The condition for Chidori to go with Leonard was to let Sousuke live, and to not touch at her classmate. So Kaname know that Sousuke was alive, I think the news she has receive of Sousuke was more of a confirmation of his status after the event of Namsak.

Lemon has never been a traitor he works for a french agency the DGSE http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DGSE

His mission is to collect information on Amalgam and Mithril, and this is the only reason he was helping Sousuke. The one who help Sousuke with his rehab is one of the leader of Mithril, Lemon is probably with them to gain as much information as possible.

First part -> Tessa in San-Fransisco.
Second part -> The end of the fight between the Cordal and Clouzot M9 + Chidori and Leonard living together.
Third part -> Sousuke wake up after 6 weeks and Amalgam soldier try to kill Sousuke.
Fourth part -> What happened on the De Danaan after the attack on Merida Island.
Fifth part ->Sousuke doing rehab in Florida and Kaname learn that Souskue is alive and nobody knows where the hell is the ARX-7 :D

2. In MMD02, the reason of the Codarl being beaten is because the superiority skill of Kulusos (?)+the pilot of the Codarl sucks(in that episode, that M9D can already beat the enemy 3 times to death if it doesn't have the Lambda Driver, as written).
3. Sousuke got assassinated in MMD03 since he thought Amalgam won't let him or his partner(AL) got paired up again.(OMG another super-robot clinche?)
4. DGSE, as shown in MMD03, doesn't ally with Mithril nor Amalgam. Rather, they're still choosing sides for their own.
5. It's uncommon in the FMP community around me suspects that Kalinin is a double-sided spy.
6. Doesn't anyone find that Amalgam got a new AS in the process near the end of BOMF, the Benemoth-i?

Hi, I just signed up to Anime Suki, the FMP novels being the main reason why.

Let me explain my recent past

In the course of the past one week, almost exactly, I have watched all of FMP, FUMOFFU, TSR subbed, and read DVMC and COMO (read them yesterday and today respectively) for the first time.

Needless to say, I'm a bit Full Metal-ed Out...and a bit restless after I finished reading COMO (:( poor Kaname)

I glanced at some of summaries already for BOMF, but for the most part am trying to keep myself unspoiled until the translations come out...Even though I really want to know things for Sousuke and Kaname turn out for the better.

Anyway, as an introduction treat to this topic, allow me to post a personal favorite SousukexKaname AMV for you to enjoy. I feel it rings even more true after the events of COMO

The anime and manga are so far behind the novels it's not even funny, in fact...it's rather frustrating.

The novels are currently three 6-8 episode story arcs ahead of the anime, and the progression is picking up faster and faster

The anime is VERY behind granted, but so far the production values have been outstanding. It even seems like the animators/voice actors/directors have been giving better and better performances as the anime progresses.

Because of the success of the first three series, and the awesome developments taking place in the novels, I don't think a fourth season is too terribly far behind. Even if we have to wait till all the novels are finished I would be very interested in watching the anime. I enjoy both the novels and anime on different levels and have re-read/watched both many times. My only hope is that they can keep the outstanding production values in whatever future anime they decide to produce, that was one of my main initial attractions to the series.

In fact Fumoffo are based on the short stories, which are basically humourous ones other than serious ones. IMO it's a nice break from the fighting in FMP and let us have something to laugh for.;)

You're right of course. I don't really consider FUMOFFU part of the actual series in the same way I don't consider the short stories strictly canonical. They were fun and all, but I'm invested in the series that really progress the story. I only watched FUMOFFU once while I've watched TSR and parts of the original series many times over. TSR is just outstanding animation.

I don't think so. At the end of BOMF Wriath met with the fat dude who was keeping ARX-8, but the maid shown was already at Chidori's house at the end of BOMF.

If anyone is going to do the whole "Sacrifice themselves by becoming one with the machine overmind in order to defeat the global evil and save her friends" thing, I suspect it will be tessa. Her older brother clearly thinks of her as a second rate whispered, Her real love, bunny is already dead and this could be seen as a way to be reunited with him, and it would allow for a happy ending with Chidori and Souske while still having the whole "anime bittersweet ending" thing goin for it.

Anybody have a list about how many times this type of ending has happened in anime? Someone either joins the greater lifeforce/becomes one with a supercomputer/etc. to save their friends and the world?

Bunny Murauta, the ARX7 and Al's creator - committed suicide for unknown reasons a while ago but left a message inside ARX7 for Sousuke (is heard in End of Day by Day IIRC) concerning Al's growth as an evolving AI.

No pictures available to my humble knowledge.

Oh, I'm not saying that it won't (or couldn't) be dramatic. You were talking about the lack of disappointment. I'm just saying that, yes, there will be disappointed fans. Death scenes shouldn't be quick way to get a slice of drama. Nowadays we also kind of expect that main characters can die, so that means death scenes should be executed well and have a sense of the unexpected. And let's not get into GSD.

Now if Kurtz dies on the other hand, I just might end up hating the world.

Here's a thought...

Bunny actually partly merged with Al, before comitting suicide. (Or did he?)
Tessa in turn, will merge with Al as well, after she's heavily wounded.
Sousuke will now have an ARX-8 at his disposal with Al being infused with both Tessa and Bunny their personalities and mental capabilities.

That would be the predictable route IMO.
Tessa is almost like the Lyn Minmei or EVE of FMP!. ;)

Haven't read the novels yet, so that idea might change.

Escaflowne was highly dissapointing to me at least. I enjoyed the ride, but the character's changes were too eratic to be called development, and the ending was strange. The story was fun, and it was still a good anime, but it just fell in the "mediocre" bin in my mind.

Full Metal Panic seems to have much more solid writing even with the wild changes from outrageous to dramatic. The characters, situations, mecha, and developments all have a strong sense of being rooted in reality. As the series has progressed, the writing seems to have grown even more solid with fewer wild ass scenes to provide humor thrown in randomly (although they are funny, I'm glad to see the novels moving in the current more dramatic direction.)

I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that the ending is gonna rock hardcore.

Alright, I've finished reading MMD06.
Even more troubles and news below:

1. Kalinin SHOT Henry in the stomach when he led the Codarls come and took away ARX-8. It's noted that Henry will be dead if not being rescued in a short time(30 minutes to be exact). Later disclosed that his code is Mr.K.
2. Sousuke finally returned to his normal combat atate after repeated training.
3. Lemon somehow hacked into a NATO satlellite and spotted a strange mansion in Mexico.
4. Mentioned in the progress, there're some chances for AL's core to survive during the attack in Tokyo.
5. Another Mithril officer, Captain Roy Seals, brought a M6A3 to Lt. Colonel Courtney(who's the one kept Sousuke from MMD05) in a CH-53. (both appeared in the same short story before)
6. Leonard and those guys seemed know that there'll be an attack upon the mansion mentioned above AND also knew that TDD should had snatched those infomation as well, and Mr.Au had sent 3 "Plan 1502" to there. (Special Note: Benemoth's code is Plan 1501 AND as mentioned before by me, at the last of BOMF there's some talk about Benemoth-i, AND Leonard said something simliar to this after that:"Then it really helps. Teletha 'Tessa' Testarossa - that's her entire name...
As for Bunny he, IIRC, somehow came up in a discussion with ARX7 and Al - and there was a scan (on page 9) showing him (he's the guy with the earring). But he died before ARX7's maiden battle so there's no chance seeing him in other novels. The only time he spoke was when Sousuke listened to a audio message he saved inside Al's computer, addressed to ARX7's designated pilot and warning the said person about Al's growth as an evolving AI.

Yeah - they're using code names related to alchemy/chemistry and amalgams - namely, alloys of a certain matter and silver (Mr. Silver being the head of the organization, namely Leonard Testarossa). If you see someone referred to as, Mr. (insert metal name), then it's a sure fire it's an Amalgam leader.

In EoDbD, there is a sarcastic remark about Gauron not being a true part of Amalgam since his codename was about a certain metal that could never mix (chemically) with silver. Can't recall which matter exactly.

Mithril's name sort of mirrors Amalgam's (or/and vice versa) since it's the name of a (fictional) metal introduced in Lord of the Rings and which is a harder, more valuable version of...silver.

You're correct, except it's not silver they mix with, but quicksilver (otherwise known as Mercury) Mercury is a liquid at room temperature and if you put some on some metals it will seep into the metal itself and form a new substance called an "Amalgam". This is where the name comes from. Also this is also why Gauron (sp?), "Mr. Iron," was never really a part of amalgam since Iron cannot mix with mercury. There are no Iron Amalgams so he was never a true part of the organization, which is why he went rogue in TSR.

Mithril is a fictional metal who's properties are unknown. Because it is also called "truesilver" it is assumed it could possibly mix with mercury and become an amalgam, perhaps why Amalgam left them alone for so long.

The mythical nature of the metal "Mithril" could also be seen as imagery that such an organization with such power, such autonomy, and such nobility is an illusion. The word itself is remeniscent of the word "myth", much like the word "Utopia" literally means "no such place" or "no place".

The similarity in the names could also merely be due to both organizations using whispered technology.

Whether or not any of these particular interpretations were the ones intended by the author, it does seem clear that there is an underlying connection between Mithril and Amalgam.

P.S. While Leonard (Mr. Silver) is refered to as a "Rising Force" in amalgam, he is never refered to as the leader. I do think he is using Amalgam for his own ends, but he is not in charge of it, simply one of the primary forces within it.

At the end of DVMC the autor has said that there are 3 to 4 novel to finish the story. So I think that after "Tsudou Make My Day" (the third novel after DVMC) there will be a final novel and the story will be finished.

Hi everyone. I'm new here. I joined this forum because i really love FMP.
Anyways, I have some thoughts about a possible 4th season of FMP and its episodes.
Since the author stated that there will probably be around 3-4 more action novels after DVMC, most probably Kyoto Animation (or any animation studio that will work for FMP) will have to wait for the whole story to finish before they animate it. The thing is, the FMP story is currently on its climax. I don't think they will only work upto COMO or BOMF because that will surely be a big cliffhanger. Perhaps they will make another 26-episode series to accomodate the whole story including the ending. I'm also hoping that the novel after Tsudou and Make my Day will not be the last novel unless the author will wrap things up pretty quickly. But i believe he won't do that... ^_^v

mainly that at the end i think itll be kinda hard for chidori or sousuke to enter back into normal society

you only see it for a bit in the novel translation of COMO but at the end its Chidori who has the smarts to see that nothing Sousuke can do will help and she lashes out at how stupid the people around her are. Because she's a whispered, she has intelligence far superior to most people and eventually its starting to get to her. Im sure part of it was the situation, the desperation, and everything but in reality Chidori must be having a hard time coping socially with people when she cant talk to them about matters beyond their comprehension. (flowers for algernon anyone?)

I think Chidori will realize that she cannot keep on living as she has, trying to grasp innocence, with slippery fingers, which has already faded away. I think she'll get mad, and start taking charge, like she did when she merged with the sub. She'll...do something nifty, and vow to take down Amalgam...help Sosuke...and then they can serve like Sosuke does, part-timer students and part time Mithril.

i also have to disagree, due to the fact that leonard was speaching to what sounds to be a leader at the last episode on TSR 17:28 to be precise, but i think the reasons will reveal themselves if they decide to make another installment in the series.

Missiles and assassins move across the landscape like ants over a picnic blanket. They can't live in a peaceful society, because the peaceful society doesn't actually exist.
