my friend is getting so into anime that she wants to get herself a real japanese school uniform...now I did a search and couldn't find any that's of high quality. Most of them are cheap off the ebay type of stuff...any suggestion? :confused:

Actually their pretty cheap compared to what the usally Japanese high school student pays for their uniform.

It's just $92 more then the j-list and a complete uniform, and what can I say I'm a sucker when it comes to Rei-chan. Now if only I could talk my friend into wearing something like that....

They sort of looked like the Christian school uniform, I don't really like them, except for Halloween maybe. Speaking of which, I saw this guy in the subway station last Halloween with an entire gear for a shinobi..with swords, daggers, shurikens and everything...now, if I can get those for $200, I might be willing to sell one of my bladders for it. Sorry for the digression...now back to the school uniform topic.

Hmm... interesting concept. I like the Japanese school uniforms I often see in anime, never really thought about buying one though. After seeing some of the prices it's not really that surprising, however I think I'd still be willing to get one... I wonder how people at my local anime/manga store would react if they saw me in a real schoolgirl uniform. =^_^=
I think I'll look in to this some more. Want something authentic and good quality, that Eva one looked pretty poor. o.O

Over here in the states, kids would scream bloody murder if you forced them to wear uniforms, yet you look at the surprising number of them who love the look of uniforms and you go "huh???". Personally, I would have loved to have worn one of the uniforms the guys wear in school these days back when I was in HS. It would have been great. Especially if the girls were all wearing their sailor outfits. :naughty:

I hated the uniforms that I had to wear back in my private school days and I still think they look ugly except for the girls uniform. :) Anyway, I find the Rei uniform to be quite ugly and cheap looking and the classic sailor is rather dull, imo. Don't they have different versions of the sailor suit and now that I think about it. Why does the schoolgirl uniform look like a sailor anyway? What is the story behind it?

Um, I'm not a boy... But I still like the uniforms, I think they're cute. ^_^; I'd definitely wear 'em, as I said. Going to look in to getting a high quality one maybe. ^_^

the only thing that are left from my uniform school days are my thick winter jacket (weight about 2kg) and a fake red tie :) .
If you want one this badly why don't you ask your fd to bring you one if they are going to go to Asia. I think the jap. uniform are pretty easy to find in Asia (guessing).

even if I want to get a set of simple summer shirt and skirt will cost me well over $100USD...is there a cheaper place that sells these online?
thinking about cutting corners now. I'm looking for those decent price ones now... :sad:

i'm a boy and i had to wear a uniform all the way to 7th grade. now i just have a strict dress code. Some girl wore a japanese uniform for one of our home comming dress-up days. other than that, i've not seen any others.

if it were j-schoolgirl uniforms w/ 2" off the normal skirts, that'd be killer.
