Ah, been waiting for the ep 12 thread:D
The episode itself can be considered another character introducing one, this time about Troubadour (voiced by Yama-chan, ech). I don't consider his singing to be any good, and it's a relief that Urd has no interest in him at all.

The next episode stars Skuld, so it seems that Bell's taking a backseat recently.

What was probably the most striking thing about ep 12 was the new ending song. The song Koibito Doushi is a wonderful ballad performed by Jukai, who did the ending for Fate/stay night. I never had that much attachment to any of the previous AMG ending songs (as much as I enjoy hearing Ishida Youko), but this new song is really good.

There is a new ending sequence as well, and it looks like Rind and Hild will play an important role towards the end.

Having the new song air from episode 12 may be indication that TBS will only air 22 of the 24 episodes, although I'm hoping that's not the case.

Yeah... since we are half-way. Skuld's noble scartlet and Sentaro arc probably last more than 2 episodes. Hmmm Rind coming back, that wasnt in the manga. But certainly waiting eagerly for the Hild arc.

I think there's only 24 episodes, same as last season and probably throw in another 2 episodes in DVD.

Heard the new ED. Excellent. Had pre-order the singles from Yesasia (http://global.yesasia.com/assocred.asp?5H2SGV0T+http://global.yesasia.com/en/index.aspx/). Cant wait to get the OST and ED2 in July.

Why would they only air 24 episodes instead of the full 26,again? SInce Doushi is Japanese for 'comrade' does Koibitou Doushi mean something like 'lover' or 'partner' in the sense of a couple(boyfriend or girlfriend)?

Why 24 instead of 26. Ask AMG animation team.

Wasn't this announced as a 26 episode series? I dun get why ppl think they'll break it up just because they did last time.

They already announced it offically. It's 24 eps, with the remaining 2 released as OVA's on the DVD, just like how it was done for Season 1.

Saw episode 12.
Troubadour sure is a...caricature of a character. It was nice to see Urd's more vulnerable/softer side, however brief they may be. Isn't it risky to be using powers in public, especially on TV? Did regular people just thought the lightning was a special effect of the show? Heh heh, the bathing scene was amusing, particularly the part where Belldandy walked in on the naked K1 and Urd, only to say "Why...why...If you told me beforehand we could've bathed together!".

And a Skuld GIF. She was very cute there while enthusiastically begging.

Unlike most anime where there are supernatural beings in it, the Goddess don't have to hide what they are, in fact Bell almost seems to go out of her way to tell everyone that even remotely asks that she is a goddess. It does seem that there may be something that is going on behind the scenes as most of the people don't question all the weird stuff that tends to go on around K1.

Bell rarely uses her powers because K1 more or less asked/told her not to and it causes him distress.

Skuld doesn't realy have any powers at this point, but loves to show of her inventions, many of which are imposable for most research teams to make let alone a 13/14 year old girl.

Urds not public with them but she doesn't try to hide them ether

But didn't K1 explicitly tell Belldandy not to use spells in front of other people, and also not to say she's a Goddess? I remember in the first season in episode 03 where Belldandy transformed her goddess outfit into more contemporary clothes in front of Hijiri-chan and her mother. They both kinda freaked out, leading K1 to warn Belldandy about it. But then in this second season, I see Belldandy violating K1's advice...many times. Has K1 forgot his words? Or is he just more lenient with Belldandy since he trusts her more now? And yeah, I also had the thought there's some manipulation going on in the background. My guess is that the goddesses or The Almighty just casts some kind of spell right after some exhibition of powers that makes people forget or alters their recent memories, kind of like the flash-pen in Men in Black. Or some kind of program that increases people's ignorance of the exotic or supernatural. They just don't present it so we don't know about it, but it happens implicitly. Oh well, this is just speculation, so I could be totally wrong, since I'm not a manga reader.

I hope you dun mind if I steal that gif, Muir!:D

For the record, the goddess using their powers in the open is one of fans biggest problems with the tv series-manga conversion. In the manga, the goddess very rarely use their powers in public and when they do, they do it when no one's looking or give an explanation to what it was. They never just wave their powers around out in the open like they do in the tv series.

Wow. After watching I actually felt bad for Urd.

Shows that no matter how beautiful you are,
No matter how powerful or wise or intelligent,
or wonderful or great.

In the past you might have been left by someone
you needed and they might have come back after
you thougth you'd gotten over them.

Some individuals would come crawling back to the
ones that wronged them just to be comfortable.

Urd on the other hand resisted with all her might
even if she may have wanted to give in at some point.

I must admit, the bath scene with K1 was hilarious
when I expected 'Bel to be jealous ended up going
"why didn't you let me know, I would have joined
you?" and K1 literally seemed to turn purple with
shock. Ah, hilarity.

For a minute there I thought he was going to sing ENKA... That really would have been the final nail in the coffin of their relationship!

Weird as it may seem, this ep. reminded me of the episode of the "Mary Tyler Moore Show" in which Lou Grant similarly "douses an old flame", after said old flame shows up years later, pretending to want to renew the passion, but really engaging in emotional manipulation for personal gain.

Fortunately, in each story the wronged lover in the end get their revenge, though with starkly differing methods: Urd with thunder, Lou with chipped beef.

But his appearence with Urd tenderly under a tree in the new closing credits make me worry that she's not truly "over him" yet, and that we are to see more of the arrogant prat.

(Do you get the feeling that I don't like him?) :)
