I used the search engine and looked in the first 20 pgs of this thread and anime fansubs thread and couldn't find a thread on this anime. So this shouldn't be a clone.
So has anyone ever heard of this series? It's really.... wacky and strange. The main character has the ability to turn trash into trees. :heh: It's not all that bad though. Pretty simple in terms of plot, though I'm only up to ep. 6.
Here's a better summary:Kousuke Ueki, a student of the Hinokuni Junior High School, is picked by a God Candidate, Koba-sen, to participate in a competition where people battle out to become God and only the strongest will prevail. Embodied with the ability to turn garbage into trees, Kousuke will be joining in the battle against other junior high school students in this selection. This sets the premise for the earth-friendly battle where the students will pit their powers against the rest.
So yeah, not the best series I've seen... but it's good to watch when your bored and it's entertaining.
I've watched iy until the last episode.

How did you think of it? I heard it gets better later on, around the teens.
I think it's good. Do you know the cv??
The old thread probably got eaten up in the forum crash. There used to be a nice long thread about the show on here. Ueki's voice actor is Paku Romi, the same as Ed in FMA. The series gets better as it goes on, but it starts out pretty strong. There is a few tedius parts in it where you start screaming "hurry up already".

^ Yes I know how Romi Paku does Ueki's. That was one of the reasons I got decided to watch this anime. Whenever I heard his voice, it reminded me of Ed.

CV? Never heard of it. What is it?
CV? Never heard of it. What is it?
CV = character voice (aka VA = voice actor) = the reason my post contained what it did.
Here's the ANN page for Ueki (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=5063).
For some reasons this show was filled with pretty awsome voice actors, with a decent number of rather famous guests voice actors for the side characters (ie. Noriaki Sugiyama, voice actor for Sasuke from Naruto, Ishida Uryuu from Bleach and Shirou Emiya from Fate/Stay Night, Yui Horie, voice actoress for Toru Honda from Fruit Basket and Naru Narusegawa from Love Hina, and Megumi Hayashibara, voice actoress/singer for, well, an insanely long list of anime).
And yes... there was a rather large thread on this series before the crash seeing it was a 51 episodes series.
Personally think the show is really awsome. If any of you have the chance definately watch it.
I watched this show and thought it was pretty interesting and fun to watch. This show isnt too repetitive which kept my interest and had a good plot. But imo Ueki has the Gouku complex. He just doesnt die and has unlimited amount of energy. I mean damn.
so....would u recommend it as a buy or a borrow from a friend type thing

So is it really worth the watch? I was reading through some people's reviews, and they said it was too childish and stupid. Does he get any more powers? And is there actual fighting with fists and such?
I think the idea of turning garbage into trees is stupid. What is garbage anyway? Can't anything be garbage? If he decides to throw away his shirt, it can be turned into trees. They should have made his power the ability to turn anything into trees.
Ueki is your typical shonen. And yes he gets more powers. Have you met the little yellow guy who likes Sushi? or the big guy with the teeth in the OP? The OP actually reveals many characters that don't show up for at least 15 episodes.
It's a great little romp (at least up to the funhouse part where I left off) and it's a good watch.
BTW he can't just take off his shirt, don't you remember rule #2? It must fit in his hand.

Ahh... I've only seen episode 1, and I was contemplating whether to watch more. Now I guess I'll try to watch some more. Thanks.
Law of Ueki is one of those fun, rediculous anime I actually enjoyed watching.
I say give it a try if Shounen anime does not turn you off.
That being said, the target audience is probably younger than Bleach.

So I am just curious as to what everyone is thinking about the English dubbed Law of Ueki?
ALso are Ueki and Ai in love?
ALso are Ueki and Ai in love?
As explained by the author in an extra to the manga, no.
Definitely not. She is attracted to his strangeness, and don't your remember? He lost the skill to be liked by girls.

Thank you Forbin. I didn't think so but I know people who do and You tube is covered in love songs supported by Law of Ueki background.
Has anyone seen the English dub?

I remember this was on TV when I was in Barcelona over the summer ... didn't seem very good, even thought it was in a language I didn't totally understand. Animation wasn't too hot either. So, I'm not really interested in this release and judging by the posts in this thread, I don't think I'm wrong in my disinterest :]

It's only bad if you're looking for a very serious anime. If you want a shounen with some interesting fights and powers, I'd definitely recommend it.
