But that's the first season (一学期).. Second season (二学期) is here (http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/contents/school-rumble/story_in.html). It's only up to 13.. which is weird since we have ep. 14 right here >_>
Heh, didn't see the date :heh:
ANN lists 26, and the screens from 14 seem to be following the manga (at this point, if it ended here it would be inconclusive to Harima and Eri). Plus the rumor of a new ED with this ep, if that's true then we're getting a full season.

Remember back on episode 13 when Harima was being huanted, he mention "SAN-GAKKI" or 3rd term. We can hope for a new OAV or series or better a movie!! :)

I liked this episode a whole lot. The Tenma party was hilarious especially Akira's cosplay, and Tenma teasing Mikoto. The Harima and Yakumo stuff at dankosha was cute although it felt a little rushed. Harima as Karasuma was kind of scary:heh:. I loved all the cameos they threw in like Ashita no Joe, Hokuto no Ken, and even some Love Hina. The after the credits part was funny as well with more Lala,Tougou, Harry, Ichijou and Imadori hijinks+ Mai and Nishimoto. Overall good episode although your mileage may vary, next time more of Harima's hijinks with the manga.

i couldn't tell what was going on but it was quite a riceball episode, and oddly enough the flag section isn't developing so much but i guess that's going down from the play episode and i did like the hokuto no ken throw-in

There is an episode 15 preview on school-rumble.net
So I'm sure Ni Gakki will push through at least 24 episodes. (I haven't heard of an anime stopping at 15-23)

Whoa! A very good episode, to kickstart the Christmas Arc!
This is a way good episode. It has almost everything in it, from the tried and tested SR comedy (Tenma's party), to the long awaited Onigiri scenes. I was laughing my arse off the whole episode, including the part where Harima became Karasuma to fool the editor. So I thought the episode would stop at the gift giving scene, but theres more! The funny bomb-passing (I dunno what the game was called), where Nara became a woman (again in the manga, for the first time in the anime), Akira became a fish and Eri became a baldy. Seriously, I was laughing my ass off the whole time! Harry fans have a reason to rejoice too, he has decent airtime in this episode! And he's so damn cool.
I really do think that this is the part where Yakumo finally realized what it meant to fall in love. I'm not sure what was really the dialogue was after the "Imouto-san, do you think this is wrong?" (the dialogue I'm talking about is the one Yakumo was talking about "first time" and there are pink romance thingies in the background).
I think Yakumo finally felt something close to "romantic love" for Harima on that scene.
I gave this a perfect 10. I know I know, too lenient, but its sure worth it.

True, true, but Yakumo and Kenji's position was much MUCH more suggestive and "awkward" than Eri's xD
Onigiri scenes are always suggestive. The substance of the interaction is far more important, however. In the Onigiri scene, Yakumo and Harima are discussing practical issues concerning the manga. In the Flag scene, by contrast, Eri is expressing her innermost feelings. The emotive aspect of Flag scenes is what makes them powerful.
Eri and Harima where seen by many people, but Yakumo and Harima where alone, that makes it more intimate. And by the way look at my sig Harima is the one hugging Yakumo!
That's part of the trick to Onigiri. People tend to assume intimacy whenever they see a guy and a girl alone together. Real intimacy is another story altogether.
I'm aware that your sig image was taken from the Ni Gakki PS2 game. There are events in there designed to please fans of every faction.
I'll be bringing around a sig of my own, in a few weeks time. ;)
If I'm not mistaken, the dialogue should be something along the lines of "Are you really sure that love can start like this?" The two of them are talking about whether that scene would work in the manga that they're drawing. That being said, I do think that the statement also serves as a sly comment to the audience on the Onigiri pairing itself. Does simply throwing a guy and a girl into a seemingly intimate position constitute love?

In any case, I have a question that I want to ask. I have the answer in mind but I'm not sure if that is applicable:

@ ZhangKhaiEn My sig is taken from the new PS2 game.
Onigiri can be big if Yakumo can have a bit of a backbone to tell her fellings. Harima is the first guy to ever move her heart and she was the one who is approaching her in the first season(tea club camping trip), but big dumb sister used ONNE-CHAN POWER, maybe that's why Yakumo is still a little hesitant to go all out or maybe she does'nt want to hurt anyone's feelings. Tenma and Eri specially.
For now KJ is pushing Flag/Jersey faction on the manga, but for anime viewers it's Onigiri for now.

I disagree. Yakumo tends to bring up out-of-topic "suggestive" things in the middle of their manga sessions. Take for example vol.7, ch.95: "La Sorelle". The same could be said about vol.12, ch.143 (SR2, ep.14).
But for Kenji? You're prolly right~ he's too obsessed with Tenma and his manga... xD (Poor, poor Yakumo and Eri... >_<)

1) Why did Eri say to Yakumo "You don't have to give him a present. Do you think he's been thanked enough?"?
I suspect that this might be linked to the events of Tenma's birthday dinner.
Yakumo needs to develop those feelings in the first place, before she can tell them to anyone, right? You seem to be putting the cart before the horse.
I disagree. Yakumo tends to bring up out-of-topic "suggestive" things in the middle of their manga sessions. Take for example vol.7, ch.95: "La Sorelle". The same could be said about vol.12, ch.143 (SR2, ep.14).
This scene isn't really open to interpretation, because we are given the dialogue under a specific context. You can't take that line out of the context of the lines that precede it and the lines that follow it. Yakumo is raising an objection to using the scene, and they agree not to use it.
The lines in La Sorelle have a specific context, as well. Yakumo introduces the topic with a lead in question, and then follows up on it afterwords.
But for Kenji? You're prolly right~ he's too obsessed with Tenma and his manga... xD (Poor, poor Yakumo and Eri... >_<)
Well, the issue doesn't matter much to Yakumo, either way. As for Eri, however - she doesn't have much to worry about.

Best. Character. Ever.
http://frames.free.fr/Images/love3.jpg
10 on this ep just for that. The rest was good too though, 8 at least. Go go Naru-chan and Eri-chan! Eri had enough time in this ep, as long as I get to hear Yui's voice some. A real treat of an ep for Onigiri fans. Plus Karasuma and Hanai finally showed up, and the minimal characters were treated as they should be--not absent but good in small doses. Even Lala was kind of funny when she couldn't keep up with the Jap word game. I did like the Buddha character's cosplay and harem scenes.
Still Harima should've taken that little gift, why refuse? And what was the deal with Tenma and Karasuma, it wasn't resolved? Also how many botched confessions has Harima had by now, 10? They keep coming up with ways to throw them off, but at least Harima got some credit for this one.

Ok I have somewhat serious continuity question.
In the birthday party scene when Yakumon is trying to give Harima his birthday present, Eri retorts something along the lines of "just being here is a present" or something like that. Now, this is in direct reference to Harima's feelings for Tenma.
When exactly did Eri become aware that Harima has a crush on Tenma? Because that is certainly what it seems like, plus her actions at paying for Tenma's birthday dinner in episode 12 really seems like she knows. For instance as they are walking away from the evening they show a close up of Eri's face and she calls Harima a "bakka" and sort of pouts and looks downcast (made me feel kinda bad for her actually).
I'm just wondering when it was exactly that she figured this out. Now, it's not that I'm surprised about it, it's just that I don't remember when it occured.
In any regards I think it (and episode 12 in particular) shows how much Eri cares for Harima even if she doesn't have the guts to say so yet (although it looks like the manga is starting to get there actually... scary thought). It's very similar to how Harima gives Tenma his flowers and pretends they are from Karasuma. I thought it was a nice change of pace for Harima, finally he is actually thinking about Tenma's feelings, even if he doesn't like them. Basically it shows that the two characters are actually thinking about the people they like (love?) Eri is thinking about Harima enough to figure out he likes Tenma and Harima is thinking about Tenma enough to admit her feelings are (currently anyway, suppose i should leave that open) are not for him.
Anyway I just have to say that I totally <3 Eri. She was the one character that I did not expect to grow on me because generally I find Tsundere characters really annoying (I could never get into Love Hina because of this)... however Eri's "deredere" side is just way too cute. I think the fact that she's not completely over the top like Naru Narusegawa from Love Hina makes the character work a lot better. It's like you don't feel that when she is in "tsuntsun" mode that this is actually her default behavior, but rather she is just trying to cope with something ;)
All in all a pretty solid episode. Can't wait for the rest of the season :)
Edit:
Heh after reading what I wrote I realized I made a comparison between Eri and Naru about how much I dislike Naru Narusegawa in Love Hina... and neglected to mention that I have always found it funny because they are both voiced by the same seiyu :) A little trivia for some people I guess ^_^

Eri and Naru are similar. They both beat up the main male character and they are both in love with them. Namely Kietaro x Naru and Harima x Eri. But instead of punches to the face, Harima gets kicks and shining wizards. Ouch what a knee attack!! XD

Most of the misperceptions of Eri's character stem from trying to categorize her into familiar stereotypes - it's much more comfortable to deal with something familiar than with something unique and less predictable. Almost every girl hits guys at some point in this series. Tenma slams Harima into the ground. Mikoto punches Harima. Mikoto sends Imadori flying. Karen throws basketballs at Imadori. Yakumo slams Hanai into the ground. Lala chokes Imadori. Are all of these characters similar to Naru, then?
Similarily, the "Tsundere" classification is given undue significance. Every girl is either warm and approachable or aloof and unapproachable. If she's unapproachable and falls for a guy, she becomes warmer and more friendly - and you have a tsundere on your hands. Tsundere covers just as broad a spectrum of girls as non-Tsundere. For that matter, you could even make a case for Yakumo as a tsundere.
Instead of sticking to labels, it's much more effective to evaluate characters based on their individual stories - especially in an unpredictable series like SR. You just might find that the characters are a lot different than they originally seemed - Eri especially.
When exactly did Eri become aware that Harima has a crush on Tenma?
She isn't. Eri is going through some internal turmoil right now, due in part to her feelings for Harima and due in part to some other issues. Just wait a little longer. ;)

lots of harima x yakumo which i love to bits and the flames of love has be lit in yakumo (from my opinion) but even though harima's intention was completely innocent his request for her to fall on top of him seems a bit too much but nevertherless yakumo still did it...and the heart beating gives a really good tip that yakumo is getting excited ;)
also it was yakumo who gave harima a present (wht is the meaning hidden there?)
funny bits was when akira was told to crack a smile and when she wanted to wear the fish suit XD

Probably has to do with the fact that he is part of the Flag faction and this is an Onigiri episode.
With Eri's comments concerning Harima's gift from Yakumo, I can see that she has a much deeper understanding of Harima than most of girls in SR. She does pay A LOT of attention concerning Harima.
Regardless, that was very sweet of Yakumo to be the ONLY one considerate enough to remember and give Harima a gift. One day, if I ever have the chance to produce an original anime series, Yakumo will make an appearance with a much better result.
I guess Harima has finally begun to let go of Tenma. I guess that will pave the way for him to see potential in other girls, and yeah, it would be just too weird for him to crazily want to go out with one sister and then switch over to another sister. Therefore, although not my favorite choice, the relationship will probably revolve around Eri soon.
Harima laying on his back during the manga session was just priceless, and Yakuma afterwards was so hot. Definitely one of the better episodes this season.

That's probably not the case - most Flaggers are indifferent to Onigiri. Besides, if anything, this strikes me as one of the strongest Oudou episodes in the series.

Wasn't there another birthday gift given out in Ep.12? Not every gift comes in wrapping paper.
I guess Harima has finally begun to let go of Tenma.
If I understood correctly, the manga segment is about Harima trying to sabotage Karasuma's manga because he thinks that Karasuma is communicating his feelings for Tenma through the manga. It doesn't seem like he's changed very much.

There's a poll for the various factions, you could go there and read about Onigiri and other factions. Basically, Onigiri is HarimaxYakumo.

ahh i see xD
i was really surprised at the reference to love hina in this episode with the naru and keitaro scene. they incorporated it nicely into the storyline and certainly gives a deja-vu feeling.
that was the highlight for me, even more than the yakumo-harima scene -.-
