Hey, I'm Corey, I'm a junior and high school, and I can't say I'm nearly as much into anime as most of the people on here. ^_^;;

I'm really mostly a giant (and I do mean GIANT) Star Wars nerd XP

Still, I like a few series, most of which I still need to watch all the way XD

The only one I've really watched all the way through, and that I absolutely love, is Death Note, I read the manga first and it had me hooked since the very first few pages.

I want to watch through all of Fullmetal Alchemist sometime soon, since I'd seens a decent number of episodes on [Adult Swim], but kinda in a random order...

I also like Ghost in the Shell, but like FMA, I haven't really seen alot of the episodes.

Other than that, I've only watched a few other random series every now and then, and usually then at the request of a friend. I'm just really picky, lol, it takes alot for me to get hooked to a show. ^_^;;

I do want to start watching anime/reading manga more though, I kinda feel like I've been missing out a bit. The key part, I would guess, that I've been missing this whole time, is that I've been a kinda quiet lonely person most of my life...the past 4 or so years anyways.

This year has been better, and I've made better friends with certain people, the same people who got me hooked to Death Note, and will hopefully be able to point me in the right direction as far as Anime and Manga is concerned.

I decided to join this site, cause I've never really been an active member of a community, and I want to...I'm being so optimistic right now it's weird. XD

Anyways, I hope I can make so new friends.

Hello everyone I'm new to the forums, but I plan to be quite active, and make some new friends.

I guess I'll tell you all a little bit about me. I'm 20 and I have been training in martial arts (Kung Fu / Tai Chi Chuan / and for about 8 months now Shaolin) since I was 8. I love sparing with Swords and Guns (staves). I consider myself an adventurous Romantic/Dreamer, and I love writing stories, songs, and depending on how I'm felling sometimes poetry (my fiancée Kate likes me to write her poetry and I enjoy seeing her smile as she reads my writing). I constantly find myself lost in thought but if the situation calls for it I am extremely focused. I have a great sense of humor and in terms of personality, I am quick witted, and can be a smart ass (but in a funny way not a mean way). I find myself put in the "Nice Guy" group because I have a strong sense of integrity, and I believe in chivalry, although I hardly find personal views/beliefs enough to label me.

I've been going to another forum for like... 4 years now, but it's Naruto specified so the General Anime/Manga Discussion Zone doesen't get much action. I came here to talk about my favorite series in detail.

I prefer manga over anime in general, and usually dislike the anime when it's been originated from a manga (the exceptions to this usually end up being my favorite anime).

So Favorite Manga: Inu Neko Jump (#1 fav.), Tsukihime, Sekirei, Naruto, Death Note, One Piece, Air Gear...

Favorite Anime: FLCL (#1 fav.), Serial Experiments Lain, Air TV(only show/movie/book/any piece of literature that has ever made me cry in my whole life), Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, Elfen Lied, Welcome to the N.H.K. (pretty sure the manga is better but I still haven't read it)...

So yeah, hope to post here often and contribute, and get into some good discussions... though most of the series I love have been over for a while so not sure if there's going to be things to add on, but I hope so. Though the meanings of SEL can be interprited in so many ways and discussions really can't end about that^^.

My favorite Animes/Mangas are: Elfen Lied (Manga only, the Anime dissapointed me a lot), Naruto (now Manga only, i dumped the Anime at one of the countless filler arcs... never watched any Shippuuden episode either...), Mirai Nikki and of course, Suzumiya Haruhi =D

Finaly joined, after years of lurking.

I'm studying Japanese in Japan right now, because my japanese is half-assed, despite beeing half Japanese. My English is also pretty bad, but it will hopefully improve a bit, if I keep writing.

I read many mangas, but not so much Anime. I love storys which shows the hardship of life or the dark side of humans. For expample Asano Inio's Solanin is one of my favorites. But I like also funny ones like GTO or Sexy Commando Gaiden.

33 yrs old, currently living in Santa Clara, CA but am moving up to Seattle, WA beginning of February.

I guess you can say I'm old school...must be the age thing. :( Been watching anime since the days of Starblazers/Yamato and Captain Harlock (early 80s). Finally got my first taste of fansubs via Ranma 1/2 and Ah! My Goddess. Even helped co-founded an anime club at Diablo Valley College known as the Ronin Anime Club. Speaking of which, if anyone knows where Jon, Chris, Nick, Mahmud and anyone else are at, tell them to hit me up (Rich Caviteno). :D

*cough*...ahem, but yah. From those days my favorite anime at the time were Fushigi Yuugi and Rurouni Kenshin. Nowadays I'm watching Bamboo Blade.

I don't obsessed over anime as much as I used to nowadays. But I still go to conventions whenever I have a chance. You'll find me at Sakura-Con, of course. ;)

My other hobbies include music (piano/keyboard, vocals, songwriting), j-dorama, j-rock/pop, autocrossing cars (whenever I have a working one), websites (NorcalCelicas.org), writing, watching pro-wrestling, occasional gaming, occasional drinking, and computers.
