Hey everyone I am really excited to be posting on this forum, I have been for a long time now trying to find an anime forum that suited me well but most of them are just bombarded with kids not respecting true anime art and Japanese culture so I hope here will be a fun place Laughing

Well as you can see Krillin is probably my most favourite character ever as Dragonball Z back in the day is what got me into Anime I tend to always like the under dog characters in a show or the intellectual character (Kakashi in Naruto) for example.

A few of the current on going animes I am watching are:

Naruto
Bleach

Some of the series I have finished that I absolutely loved were:

Death Note
Elfen Lied
Gantz
Full Metal Alchemist
Samurai Champloo
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Air Gear (Surprised me and really enjoyed it)

I know theres tons more just can't think of them right now.

Now the most AMAZING Anime to this date that I have seen it seriously gets me all emotional and the artistry is just amazing with such a great story I just connect so well to this peice I know all if not most of you have seen it its called 5 Centimeters Per Second! The Soundtrack alone is just beyond superb. Also I have watched other Animes made by the same artist such as Voices Of a Distant Star also truly amazing I am currently downloading the albums to all of his animes the musician is TENMON love his stuff.

Anyway that is a little bit about myself I guess I am also 22, Male living in Canada I am a hip hop dancer/choreographer and also go to school and wish I lived in Japan lol.

Can't wait to keep posting and get to meet all the great people on this forum

I'm new, my name's haegar, and I'm an addict.
Usually I'm only on TVseries, but now that I've found manga and anime... no, just kidding :)

Basically I'm totally new to everything managa/anime. So this seemd a good place to expand my take on things.

So far, I've read Claymore and also watched the anime, I've also looked into blood+, death note and moribito - of all these I liked claymore most, (although i liked parts of the drawing of moribito, the detailed backgrounds and fight scenes, didn't really get into the story though) - which is why I registered here since there seem to be alot of people hanging around that are into claymore.

any suggestions on what might be a nice thing to watch or read are welcome,
should have the kind of slow going well planned story buildup as claymore, and not as much "kitsch" as blood+ (ducks and runs)
generally anything in the direction of 1)vampire or 2)medieval/fight, however with some kind of dense backstory, in addition, claymore style women welcome :D

I'm a big fan of fan of Visual Novels.. Mostly Fortune Arterial and To Heart 2 XRated..

Also a Plastic models collectors (Gunpla, Zoids, Eva, etc) and Figures fan (Just started)..

I prefer manga over anime, but i enjoy both.. I don't watch anime that often since i rarely got time to, so i do watch it frequently..

ah.. My favorite characters are Erika Sendo (Fortune Arterial) and Lucy Maria Misora (TH2).. and quite obsessive about them.. so I'll bite if your words about them is too harsh.. heheh..

And off-the-otaku-stuffs.. I'm a weapons collector, mostly swords.. I'm studying and training swordsmanship since quite a long time ago.. And my main weapon is a Wakizashi (One-Handed Katana) called "Tsuki no Ame" (Lit.means "Rain of The Moon") which i named personally..

Eh might as well introduce my self even though I been here for a while. I'm a huge Elfen Lied fan ( I won a poster for this series in a contest in my college's anime club) and I love dark, dramatic, military, and politically based animes, though I don't mind the occasional slice of life comedy now and then. I occasionally buy manga and I like to collect stuff from different countries (I'm American by the way). I'm a huge history buff and love to collect different weapons of war from different time periods, especially from WWII.

I'm a mediocore animewatcher, but if an anime catches me I just go for it. The last anime I've finished is Naruto, so in the urge of filling the emptyness inside me one feels when finishing something good, I decided to join Animesuki.

In my daily life I'm a History Teacher. I'm currently located in Rotterdam where I live together with my beautiful wife, 2 cats and 2 rabbits. Even though I'm optimistic and enjoy life a lot, I'm quite melancholic. Every now and then I enjoy a beer and a cigarette, an online game, my ps3, singing some songs, reading books or spend some hours enjoying internet.

Make sure you have "show sigs" clicked in usercp. I can see your sig just fine.

I'm an aspiring actor/writer/and just about everything in the entertainment biz.
My love for anime/manga started when I was introduced to the two series that remain close to my heart because well if it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't be a fan of anime/manga at all.

And they are DBZ & Sailor Moon grew up watching them and well just look above for why they are special to me.

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum, and joined after searching for some Higurashi info xD
I love D.Gray-man, and recently fell in love with Higurashi no Naku Koro ni & Kai. I read up new chapters usually every week when they come out, you know, the usual weekly manga like Naruto, Bleach, Bakuman, Katekyo Hitman Reborn... Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles and xxxHolic(but they have so many breaks). I also read some monthly manga like Soul Eater and Claymore. Let's just say that I know and like a lot of different anime/manga even if they ended already (like Code Geass) xP

First post...what do I say that isn't already explained in my Username? Hrm....

Well, let's start with me being a writer...I guess. I mean, I'm not that good at it, but I'd like to think I can push a somewhat entertaining story if I put my mind to it. I'm working on a book--sort of--that I hope to have published. I have a few manga/light novel concepts too, but my capacity for drawing is severely limited, so it kind of foils my hopes of putting out comics. I'm thinking about a few fan fictions too--typically oriented in Lucky Star, Venus Versus Virus, My Otome and K-On!, to name a few.

I came to this forum the first time a loooooong ways back, and I'd nearly forgotten about it. See, I had been rummaging for some nigh-non-existent Arika/Nina yuri fiction and a place to offer a My Otome roleplay, and somewhere along the ways, I just stumbled upon your shores. Kind of odd that I just registered now, but better late than.................

Interesting! I'm a writer to on fanfiction.net. Known as DarkShadow At Midnight. I write InuYasha fanfic's...have been since 2006. Writing is the only hobby I have. I wish to try photography but my sister would hate me...I wish to try drawing but my friends will hate me....

Why my sister would hate me, you think? It is because she wants to be a photographer when she gets older. Or whatever.

Why my friends would hate me, you ask? It is because all of them would think I'm trying to copy their talent. I'm just a teen trying to have a life. Sheesh. Can you believe the hate I'm receiving here?

Hmmm. Well this isn't my first post, but I joined pretty recently so i guess it's time I properly introduced myself ^_^.

First off, my username. I made it before the matrix came out, there they copied me, not the other way around! :P

Currently, I'm a sophmore in college and am probably duel majoring in computer science and linguistics. I plan to attend law school once I graduate.

With that aside, I guess i'll mention some hobbies =D. Well obviously I love watching anime (duh) and reading manga. I'm also a huge fan of movies, and I'm an amateur film maker =D. I've also been bboying (breakdancing) for a while.

I love anime and manga in general, but I tend to lean towards stories that have a strong emphasis on human relationships and romantic comedies, (Excel Saga being one of my favorites that goes against this, but how could I not enjoy the schitzophrenic frenzy of randomness of that show?)

I'm always on the hunt for new series to watch, so suggestions are welcome ^^
Please don't suggest any hentai >.> My wife can handle me watching a fan-service laden / ecchi show, but she draws the line at animated porn. The only porn allowed in our home is homemade ^_^

Hi all!

Brand new to the site. I suppose I'm an anime fan but I don't really frequent any Anime-forums. Was on Gaia as a young'un but not since. Recently the "Anime Thread" at my usual online hangout was shut down, so it's members have reconvened here and so have I.

I'm usually into darker or grittier action-oriented stuff like Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain or Darker than Black, but as sort of an anomaly, I also read the Loveless manga. I picked up the first issue awhile ago as a joke, and now have all the volumes that are out.

I tentatively draw and write. I consider myself not that great at the first and halfway decent at the latter, though I barely ever get either done. I like RP'ing but haven't done a good one in longer than I can remember.

I'm addicted to coffee and the Internet, thus my day doesn't start until I've had my dose of both.

I've never used this SN anywhere else before, but I have so many tags that it'd be useless to list them here. If you think you know me, or even want to know me, just say "hi" or throw me a PM :P.

Hi everyone!

I'm new in here so don't pick on me :).
Some facts about myself:
I'm from finland and currently doing my fourth year in high school. I'm 18 years old. My future plans are still pretty vague. Well, my strong points in school are math and physics so i pretty much continue working on these subjects and see what happens then.

About hobbies... Well like many others here, I like Watching anime and reading manga. I also like playing games(mostly rpg and some visual novels). That's pretty much all.
Here are a few of my favorite animes: Clannad(both seasons), Higurashi no naku koro ni(all), Kimi ga nozomu eien, Eureka 7, Noein, Welcome to the NHK, Toward the Terra, Elfen lied.
And Here are a few of my favorite mangas: Mahou sensei negima, Hayate the combat butler, Rurouni Kenshin, Claymore.
There's lots and lots more but it would take too much time to remember all.
As you can see there's no clear genre I like the most, well except for romance in nearly all. So pretty much all is ok. Still the important part to me isn't how great it looks visually, but the story and of course the characters. Feel free to recommend some great anime's. :D

Oh... English ain't my first language so it might not be perfect, but i hope you can understand what I'm saying.

The atmosphere here feels really nice and friendly so i hope we can get along. ;)

Hello all!

Your all probably wondering why my user name is otaku_trev. Well for starters my friends call me an otaku (I know in Japanese it isn't a very flattering term, but I've decided to stick with it) because I really love anime a lot. My friends call me Trev for short, since my real name is Trevor. So hence the user name otaku_trev. It even rhymes!:p

I was only introduced to anime in my last year of high school. My first manga I ever read was Ah! My Goddess volume 21. I just picked it randomly off of the shelf in the library. Boy was I really surprised to find how much I enjoyed reading it! I love Ah! My Goddess a lot and Keiichi is my favorite guy character, mostly due to how much I can relate with him. Currently I'm a senior civil engineering student attending college in South Dakota, which is a state in the US. Keiichi is also a college student and an engineering major at that. Something that really impressed me of his character was his gentlemen like manner. Anyways long story short, it wasn't long until I was hooked and read every Ah! My Goddess manga novel in the library. Then I learned from a friend that there was a anime series for it, and hence forth came my first anime experience. He let me borrow his episodes and I loved it!

Since then I have watched many anime series that I thought sounded interesting. I do have a list of my top 5 favorites:

1) The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (my favorite series to date)
2) Spice and Wolf (a very close second to Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Hail the Tail!)
3) Oh! My Goddess (The one that began it all for me. Forever will I have a special place for it in my heart)
4) Muushi Shi (A very good series that tells a very good amount of stories)
5) Eureka 7 (another great series with an unpredictable storyline)

I am the Vice President of the JACS (Japanese Animation and Culture Society) club on campus. I have been a proud member for the last few years. We watch anime, do presentations on Japanese culture and anime and at the end of the year we all go to a Sushi restaurant and eat lots and lots of Sushi.

Other hobbies of mine include watching Star Trek, which is another passion of mine. I am a big Trekkie (I own 23 seasons of Star Trek and watch them all year round). I play disc golf and also play hockey with my friends.

I am going to finally cosplay this yearfor my very first time. I am very excited and think it will be lots of fun. I've decided to cosplay Kenshin from the Rurouni Kenshin TV series. I can't wait!

Well its great to be a part of this anime community and hope I get along with everyone (I know I really just sounded like a student in anime):D I enjoy reading everyone's posts and you insights are invaluable to my search for good anime to watch. Thanks everyone for being the best people in the world to hang out with!

Hi guys, I've been lurking on this forum for some time, but finally decided to join so I could take part in all of the excitement surrounding Season 2 of Haruhi Suzumiya.
A hardcore netzien, I've had lots of exposure to memes, and after seeing millions of Haruhi wallpapers and Haruhi-related posts throughout the internet (namely 4chan), I decided to see what all of the racket was about. Upon watching the first season of the series in a few days, I was instantly hooked, and here I am on this site. Basically, I am a hardcore fan of the series, ( I purchased the translated light novel (before it was released?) in April.
Still, I am totally clueless about other anime/manga series, but hopefully I'll be enlightened here.

I stumbled upon this site when I was looking for alternatives to clear my doubts pertaining to Japanese language. I must say the people here are really nice! I couldn't agree more >.<

Oh ya, introduction. Hahaha... got carried away...

Erm... what to say...

Well, I'm 22 years old (so old!!! OMG!), very short (I can really relate to Edward Elric sometimes D8), chinese and residing in Singapore (tat makes me a Singaporean:D). I am a budding animator cum mangaka (I have so much to learn~!) and oh yeah, for a person like me, I do so love anime and manga~! I'm also very into japanese culture. :D

There are various anime and manga which I like very much... stuff like らき☆すた and AZU漫画大王 tickles me and erm... FMA, awesome animating 8D... and DeathNote, the art and animation are good (various others which may take eternalty to mention)... my particular favourite style of illustration is from Takaya Miou san, though it seems that her manga are not particularly known, at least in my country. Other than these, I must say Hayao Miyazaki's works are the best. In terms of animation and layout design (awesome), though some of the plots are lacking at times (Tales of Earth sea for e.g.)... I don't consider his animation 'anime' tho'... hahaha... in which Miyazaki himself said so too... I hope I'm not boring you guys with my interests :heh:... and besides all these, I'm currently learning japanese :) Not pro but I can do simple translations... I think... *starts folding paper cranes in corner again*:heh:. I'm not very confident of my abilities at times... hahaha|||... but I'll try my best :p

Whichever it is, from today onwards,

I hope to make even more friends during my stay here :D

Okay, not really. I'm just a normal fan. I found this stuff about three years ago, it was exciting since most American animation had fallen on the wayside. Let's see...

I'm a college student majoring in mathematics and minoring in Japanese. I enjoy technology, chess, puzzles, mystery, space, and doing nothing . My favorite anime series is Ojamajo Doremi, with Detective Conan at a close second. My favorite manga is also Detective Conan. I am a staff member of Doremi-Fansubs. So ..yeah. That's all I got. I'm not really a talkative person.

Oh, I guess I should mention that I blame the fun Saimoe topic for making me finally register. :p

Woohoo. I'm new here, and here goes my lame introduction since I fail at introducing myself, especially when having been up all night, being an otaku, watching Gundam.

I'm Colinda, but just call me... something else. I hate my first name. And last name, but you won't see me throwing that all over the internet. I'm female, Dutch, pessimistic though naive, and I love battle manga/anime and can't appreciate magical girl or any shoujo anime. I like to see men kick butts and tomboy women in charge. Mary Sues suck and so does Lacus Clyne.

What else is there... I'm seventeen years old, going on eighteen in September. I own three cats and a dog, two of the cats kittens and they're annoying as hell, standing on my laptop keyboard when I watch anime and then they manage to stop the episode I was just watching when I wasn't keeping track on which episode I was watching.
