Hey everyone, I've been using the site's links for a couple of years now, but never minded bought the forums and community... but after ending up here on a couple of occasions through Google I've decided to finally join up. I'm quite the fan of Nasu's literary works. I'm also into drawing and writing, but sadly even though I got the talent, I just can't seem to exploit it very well. So far my favorite animes are Shakugan no Shana and Nagasarete Airantou. As for Manga i also enjoy Nagaserete Airantou, Mahou sensei Negima and K-On. In the light Novel domain, sadly I only started Fate/Zero even though I know i've got 3 or 4 others i could easily enjoy. And like I said earlier, being a fan of Nasu's work I enjoyed Fate/Stay night, and Tsukihime Visual novels,
Wooh...that was lengthy o.O I never wrote so much in an intro except for roleplaying purpose...
In case you guys are still alive don't be so afraid of me and if my english isn't at your expectations, I'm sorry and will try to work on it ^^
And there i go rambling on again -.-... someone stop meh!!!

I've been following these forums for about 2 months now but only got around to registering today haha. Hmm, a little about myself: I'm 17 ( 18 in 3 days o.O) and I'm from California. I just recently started my first year in college.

I wouldn't call myself an experienced anime-watcher; I was just bored over the summer so I watched a good couple I found interesting. My current favorite is Bakemonogatari and I would recommend anyone to watch it. It has very astonishing visuals and the interaction between the main characters can't be found in any other anime I've seen thus far.

Seriously though, I'm pretty overwhelmed at the community you have here. Must take quite the time and dedication to become a regular. In which case I'll try my best! *epic pose*

Guess I'll start by saying that my most favorite anime/manga has been for quite a while One Piece. Though I like to pride myself on my flexibility to other series'.

Higurashi was the first anime I've ever watched completely on my own intentions, and I say myself it is the reason I am such an otaku today. Because of that the series will always hold a special place in my heart. (I also blame it on my love of yandere/yangire characters. xP)

I am also a huge gamer. My favorite series used to be Sonic the Hedgehog, but as of late it's been pushed far down the list. Some of my current preffered games include Kingdom Hearts, .Hack//, Tales of, BlazBlue, and pretty much any Nintendo series.

Other than intrests, I am a young man age 17 living in the great country of Canada. Highschool graduate and currently working.

As you can see, I've been registered here for a while, but I have been only lurking around and reading everybody's posts. However, what's the fun of joining a forum if you don't post a thing? :3
I'm a 14 years old girl, a little bit addicted to MMORPGs and everything about Japan. It's such a wonderful country <3. English is not my native language, so I'll make mistakes very often. Please don't mind it.
I'm not a fan of many series (I usually drop an anime after 3~5 episodes; it's hard to find something that can really entertain me :heh:),but my favorites are Clannad, Umineko/Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Eden of the East, Kanon, and others that I can't remember right now ^_^;.

I have been an anime fan since it was show in the Middle East in Arabic. The biggest series there were Captain Majid (Captain Tsubasa), Mazinger Z and Grendaizer. With that in my child hood you can see where my love of anime came from, also my love of giant robots.
I am currently reading some mangas over on OneManga.com and have to say that from those 20th Century Boys and 21st Century Boys are 2 of the best mangas I've read to date. I am also getting a serious kick from Akumetsu, a series I wanna see made into a manga.

Hello all! Syapheer here. I've been lurking here for quite some time ever since I've found the Higurashi forums here last year. Decided to register but something tells me I'll still be doing more lurking than posting.

Currently obsessed with Umineko, anime & novel...bought Ep 5 two weeks ago and still struggling to get past the second chapter (Manual translation is tough~~).

My anime/manga interest is quite broad but I prefer series that have less than 60 eps - not that I don't watch long running series, I do but I tend to miss/skip eps at times.
Personal Favs: Higurashi, Evangelion, Haruhi, Love Com, Code Geass, GS and Last Exile.

Well this is more of a re-introduction as opposed to a first introduction. I've been registered here since February but hardly posted at all. Things got rather hectic for me for a while. Health issues, family issues, few friends of the family died, working 55 hour weeks with only 1 day off a week, and renting a house kind of have kept me busy. However, in just 2-3 weeks my schedule will be more stabilized so I thought I'd get a head start on posting again. My name is Sean, I just turned 27 this summer and obviously I like anime heh. I have a degree in criminal justice, love to cook, read, and listen to music. I am also an avid animal lover and an avid anime pvc collector. Hi. I'm Erik, and I do music. 22 years super super old.

I'm just starting to really get into anime, and I figured this place would be good to talk to people with similar interests and get some suggestions. As a kid, I used to watch Pokémon, Gundam Wing, etc., but I never delved deeper.

This changed a bit after I attended Anime Boston in May. I asked one of my bandmates if he wanted to not knowing that he actually had a table in the artist alley. :p So I ended up hanging out there and going to the 2 raves. Really awesome time! Haha. Also ended up going to PortCon Maine and Otakon after that. Next up is probably Katsucon where I will probably try cosplaying for the first time. Everyone is telling me that I have to be Death the Kid, and I might finally give in and do it.

Yo. Suppose I should get to the bread and butter for the best idea about me.

General anime dislikes - depressing as hell tragedies, inane or simple plots, inane comedy that relies totally on incredibly random stuff. Slice of life stand-alone episodes(unless in the context of a bigger story). Plots that don't resolve satisfactorily, ie, the ending keeping the status quo.

General anime likes - good comedy that knows how to use a running gag, or build up to a good joke. Action, Adventure, but has to have to good story; bonus points for "eye-watering" moments. Fantasy or Sci-fi elements preferred, but will take others as long as the story is good. Romantic Comedies are fine, but I generally shun the harem setup unless it's well done.
