Haha, interesting episode.
More important than Harima riding Tenma's curry bowl like a sleigh, the turnabout at the party, and the reconciliation between Harima and Tenko, was the concern shown by everyone around them.
But the biggest surprise was that next week will be an one hour special (although it's probably just 2 episodes in a row).
Hm, oudou FTW?
oh wow, i usually expect screenshots to appear by this time.

Quite possibly my favorite ep this whole season surpassing the Akagi parady one:heh:. The animation was really good in this one, the hugging scene was almost magical although they kind of changed how it ended from the manga. Anywho loved this one, Harima matured a bit in more ways than one and was forgiven by Tenma. Also he should learn not to mess with Karasuma who single handedly stopped him:heh:. Next time a 2 episode special and from the preview it seems one of the stories will be one with Ichijou:love: and Imadori which I'm really looking forward to.

Yes yes, the preview of the next episode has me pumped! I love and support Imadori + Ichijou, so I can't wait to see what goes on there. The whole Super Sentai parody is going to be great.

my, oh my, oh my.
was this episode a bit of a shocker.
first thought that came to me was wheres my yoi ya sa! yoi ya sa!
then i said to my mom, "see i told you tuna fish are evil."
but the ending. wow pretty surprising. apparently karasuma is the #3 strongest power in the world and that would make harima #4.
when harima grabbed tenma, i didnt know what to expect, by im sure my heart stopped beating for a few seconds!
have to say this episode scores a perfect and is only the second one in season 2 to do so.

Oh. My. God!
I was rather surprised in this episode. Aside from it being a pure non-comedy episode, the drama of it was very much highlighted. The choice of music in the scenes, the flashbacks and the inner monologues of Harima along with the dramatic final scene made this episode a very good, if not the best one.
The episode added a few scenes, especially the last part where Harima and Tenma reconciled -- the hand shake. That fairly surprised me, since I did not expect that to happen. The Perfect Storm parody was great too. It symbolizes Harima's struggles with the 120 page manuscript, and in the end, as the ship survived the storm, Harima survived the ordeal.
Episodes 20 and 21 are on a one hour special? Wow, this I gotta see. Though, upon viewing the preview, aside from the Dojibiron (FINALLY!), it's going to be a "filler-type" episodes. Unless they do the New Year Parade, don't expect me to give anything higher than 8 or 9 :P.

yayaya.......just watched mine last night. LOL.........akagi parody was awesome. never thought a truck full of tuna can be uuber eevil during snow storm. I agreed with truth=kun. The hand shake part was unexpected, but it's kinda cute. Probably that's a sign for the anime to stray away from the manga and wrap up everything in this season once and for alll......boooooyaaaaaaaaaaa

ACK!!! What Happened to Harima's Bad ASS Power?!!!
DAMN YOU Kurasuma!!! You may own Harima for now. but Harima owns you at basketball!! >_<
Hopefully if the anime reaches the Kyoto arc in the manga, Harima will power up as the Last "bald" Samurai. Though he had a tough time with Max im sure he's much more mature and experinced since then.
I don't know if it was intended, but didn't Yakumo seem a little jealous of Tenma for a lot of the episode after Harima showed Tenma the manga?

Great episode, well executed. Just my opinion, but the fact that the script didnt get accepted is symbolisim that Tenma hasn't accepted Harima in a lovers kind of way. From what I hear about the manga though, is that Tenma and Karasuma gets closer in future events. But anyway, all in all, this was a great episode!
Oh, Karasuma is more than likely traditionally taught to be a fighter, while Harima learned how to fight off the streets, so technique wise, Karasuma is more than likely the better fighter, while Harima probably has more raw strength. Just my two cents.
Next weeks episode special does seem like a filler, but the title is abit misleading, so I can only hope.

I thought karasuma learn to fight from the aliens? LOL. I think that's why he's so strong, even stronger than harima. I think the only people that can beat up karasuma are the chief editor and his twin brother.
I do agreed that this one was a great episode. The mood was perfect, the parody was excellent, love was on the air. Next episode should be great too, even if its a filler. I believe hanai will get some quality air time......although it won't involve yakumo.:heh: She's way too pretty for him anyway. Does anyone know which chapter is the dojibiron in the manga? I've look back through all my B chapters, but can't find it at all.

I believe that's early sign of love from yakumo. That girl definitely has feeling for harima. I just hope the got up to valentine before this season is over.
I' really liked the more dramatic feel to this episode w/ the occasional comedy thrown in. It almost felt like a season 1 (towards the end) throwback. I don't know if they got new writers or changed their focus, but they also have been using many flash-back scenes in the past episodes.

This episode was just phenomenal. It had just about everything, and it was so touching. It is probably one of the best School Rumble episodes I have seen in a while. I guess this shows why Tenma is the main female lead.
About the script not accepted by the chief editor, he mentions that "he" can't publish it, and that only one person in the world who can look at the script. Does this mean that he can't make a judgement call and his twin brother is the only one capable of making the call, or does he mean it is unreadable and only Tenma is the one that can look at it (as a confession to her)?
I think from this point on, since Harima realizes so much how important Tenma's smile is to him, so he'll be a little more considerate towards her feelings with Karasuma. On the other hand, I think Tenma will also realize that Harima is not what he appears to be, either.
The story is getting more interesting, but by judging from the previews, I think they are going to stray from the current story for more slapstick. Too bad, since the story was getting good.
the scene when harima hugged tenma went for about 30 secs or so then she screamed -.-
why did she scream? if she was uncomfortable with the hug wouldn't she have done it earlier?
but this episode is really very different from the usual sukuran comedy we're used to. It's much more serious and touching.
With Harima wanting to show tenma his manga so desperately to the misunderstanding between them.

tenma is a little slow. its ok to give her a few minutes to think about things.
once she realized what happened is when she got embarrassed. that was probably the first romantic situation she was in that involved touching, unless you count the piggy backs and the middleschool incident.
the manuscript part, basically he said i cant accept this. take it and leave. im not sure if it was because harima arrived late or if the content was too stunning to be accepted.
however, i think after he saw what happened between tenma karasuma and harima he understood where the manga story was from and had no choice to publish it beacuse it had their soul and experiences written into it. i think he said something like his heart just wont calm down after reading it.
yakumo definately knows now that tenma is important to harima since he told her he was writing comics. if that made her jealous i cant really say. on one hand tenma is the most important person to yakumo too. i dont think the situation was discouraging to her; i think it probably even makers her like harima more. however, even if harima chose tenma in the end i think thats something yakumo could accept.
Fish missiles = automatic win
Quite possibly the best ep of this season so far. It's got everything: comedy, drama, Haruhi-kura :heh: , "nee-san" envy from Yakumo, Akira cameo, and a touching moment between Harima and Tenma.
Wait, I don't think Eri was in this one...make that almost everything :heh:

I have one question that really bugs me, what was in the manga that Harima showed to Tenma?
does it contain the feelings Harima has for Tenma? If this is true then does it mean Tenma now knows what Harima really feels for her? What about the part where she is watching tv and talking about Harima with Yakumo, what does this imply?
Ty for anyone willing to shed some light to my confusion, its greatly appreciated! :D

I don't know if it was intended, but didn't Yakumo seem a little jealous of Tenma for a lot of the episode after Harima showed Tenma the manga?
I think Yakumo actually believed that the manga was "their little secret",
letting her sister in on it kind of ruins the "specialness" of it. And the fact
that he let her in on it I think Yakumo is starting to experience what it
feels like to be jealous.

She doesn't appear jealous in the manga, and the anime actually leaves the bit when she tries to explain to Tenma that Harima might have feelings for Tenma.
This was an excellent episode but they took and added important bits to the manga that make people who haven't read the manga misunderstand the situation like Yakumo looking like she's jealous.
The bit when Tenma falls on the floor after Harima hugs her and Harima apologies and they shake hands. That never happened and the only reason why i think they added it in was:
That fact the hugging scene never gets resolved, never gets discussed/questioned, totally forgotten by Tenma as of current in the manga and it's been quite sometime now. Typical SR stuff ;)
Great episode, this show is really starting to get its goodness back. :D
Ahww The show could have ended right there.

O.O" my my what a turn of events ~
i would have thought harima would have confessed his feelings much later in the season...but o well 19...it's nearly the end isn't it? *crys*
when he was on that giant curry dish sleighin down the street that was sooo cool! those fish missiles were great LOL ~ imagine if that had hit him...*ouch*
when harima hugged tenma /// my heart was like slow...LoL it melted and i wanted to see it last even longer with the atmosphere and music...
but as always tenma had to ruin it by screaming
altho it was a bit weird to me that they shook hands ¬_¬ how poop is that?!
tenma still obviously loves karasuma (LMAO when he stopped harima with one hand) since she made dat giant curry dish and gave him curry whilst harima stood by...
so she is pretty confused right now ~ but i am glad she doesn't hate harima as much anymore...
i hope she will finally remember who he is that sexy cute lil dude who saved her when they were younger ^^
yakumo lookd like she was tryin to be understanding~ supporting her sister~ i dnt think she was jealous =/ she already knew long ago that the manga was of harima and tenma.
next episode ooh 1hr!! looks like it'd ressurect the other characters we've not seen for awhile. yay ^_^ hope they tidy up those loose ends =)
oh wells thats it for now ~ roll on to the next ep!!!
10/10 ~ loved it!
Episode 19 blew me away. Not only did this episode incorporate the incredibly funny and exciting (lol heatseeking fish missiles?! seriously, the fish looked like they lusted for the fresh blood of Harima :heh:), it also proved to harbor very serious and emotional plot development. I thought the flashbacks at the start foreshadowed this very well. So as we've seen before, Harima once again takes the initiative intending to do his best to confess to Tenma, but finally, rather than viewing another trademark SR mixup, we get to watch Harima and Tenma go face-to-face and connect. The manga confession, the hug (so beautiful!), the handshake. You just can't say that Harima and Tenma haven't matured in this episode.
And I know not many of you agree with the Oudou outcome. Even I was wavering on it after all that has happened between Harima and Yakumo/Eri. But boy did this episode do justice to both the HarimaXTenma and TenmaXKarasuma storyline.
Great episode, this show is really starting to get its goodness back.
Ahww The show could have ended right there.I agree with you. This episode really had the air of everything coming to a close. That feeling, somewhat nostalgic like 'it's over', was especially strong for me roughly halfway through this episode.
My favorite ep of Season2 also, very touching. As long as the episode focused on Harima x (Tenma or Eri), I'm happy, but this episode carried it much farther with serious character/plot developement.
Seeing Tenma cry makes me sad too, hope my sister-in-law won't hate her so much after she sees this episode. :) I've never read the manga so when I first saw Harima hug Tenma, I thought it was him daydreaming again and he was gonna wake up in some embarrasingly funny situation again. :heh:
I don't expect the end of season2 to resolve anything, so if it ended with this episode; it would've been just fine.

nooo....i totally opposed of ending the season in this episode. There are so many great things coming up(at least in the manga) . They better come up with season 3 then wrap up the whole thing on graduation. Or maybe keep dragging the whole thing until they go to college.....or someone getting married.......
If KJ really wants to end the anime this season, he should make some kind of conclusion episode where harima ended up with one of the girl.....(preferably eri....). It would be suck if he just end it without any resolution.

I'm not sure if Yakumo was jealous or not. It also looked like she might've felt sad that Harima gave so much care for Tenma.
But perhaps Yakumo thought that Harima let Tenma in on the secret to set things straight? Because only then would Tenma know she misunderstood Harima about the perversions and why he had to stay at her place on some "secret work", and Yakumo was trying to support a confused Tenma, telling her it wasn't her fault for the misunderstanding. I don't know, SR is so subtle and Yakumo is so suggestive in her actions. But I think she was just jealous, personally :)

I'm starting to feel a little diversion going on, and it may lead to the inevitable "anime-only" ending. I don't see School Rumble extending up to the third season, especially since the manga is close to being finished too.
The hints in the preview: "Above friends, lovers unfilled, but before that, I told you it's School Rumble!" suggests that the next 1 hour special will be the bridge to the last arc of this season. I have no idea how they are gonna pull it off, but I really think it would diverge a little if not all, from the current manga.
I also agree though, that the handshake can be a great ending in itself :). But it would be a little rushed if that was the case :D

i wish KJ will end this season with a BAAAANG......if he's not going to do 3rd season. I mean.......i want something out of the ordinary. maybe harima will ended being with akira......or maybe sagano. Akira pretty much know all the circumstances, so she should be a nice underdog for the competition to get harima. Sagano is good at basketball.....harima tooo.......this should make good basketball team........or maybe they end it with showing that tenma was an god-like entity that can control the universe with her mental state (hehehhe.....sounds familiar anyone?) and karasuma was the person that can calm her down from destroying the earth..........both of them can be alien, and live happily ever after.........
What ever it might, KJ better end this season with something out of the ordinary........and then make some OVAs or even a movie to cover the rest of the manga. If he does that, the world will one step toward becoming a better place.....

Episode#19 is very good. Tuna missiles are incredible. I'm quite surprised the chief editor knew the 120-page manga script was written for Tenma. Then again, his sea captain brother knew that as well after reading Harima's first manga in Term#01.
Harima finally let Tenma read his manga, which is the outlet of his affection for her. We know this 120-page script represents his confession from the remark made by the chief editor. The reaction Tenma had after reading the manga seems rather tame (for such a hyperactive girl) but it might be because she did not immediately grasp the meaning behind the manga. Even Yakumo, who helped out with the manga in Term#01, took some time before drawing the connection between Harima and Tenma.
But the hug at the end leaves no doubt as to Harima's feeling for Tenma (though Tenma is an incredibly dense girl, so.. hmm, uh-oh). It's good that both of them made up with that handshake, but does this bode well for Harima x Tenma? Well, at least there are no misunderstandings this time round (i.e. Tenma did not faint and wake up tomorrow saying "What happened yesterday?" etc).

i actually really liked this episode a LOT. i really dislike harima x tenma, but just the fact that harima is so devoted to one girl is extremely cute. the hug ... omg ... harima is such a badass, i totally loved it, it's been one of those things i've been waiting 40+ episodes of SR for. i was really actually close to tears at it, especially with the new music playing in the background. goddamn, harima is proly my favorite character in ANY anime ever. harima and yakumo are respectively like the best guy and girl i've ever seen. that hug ... it really made my day hahaha. i've been waiting for it for SUCH a long time, so i really really felt good for harima when it happened.
... then tenma started spazzing and all the magic of that one moment was lost. godDAMNIT i hate tenma now. she ruined quite possibly the best moment of SR thus far T_____T;;

lol true i wish harima kun was the 1 that fallen 4 yakumo n hanai fallen 4 tsukamoto then i think this anime would be the best :p somehow i think the fish missiles are kinda like a gundam pardoy remade it would have been cool if harima did the freedom beam thing :p
It's good that both of them made up with that handshake, but does this bode well for Harima x Tenma?
Read my last post, i'll say this the last time that this never happened in the manga and i've wrote what i think maybe the reason why they added it just note it maybe a huge spoiler so you've been warned.
It was a pretty good episode I thought. I liked that there were basically no misunderstandings and things were taken seriously this ep. I mean, the misunderstandings are great and hillarious, but they have to be serious every now and then. I also liked Harima's little mini monologue or whatever about his future and such.
I'm not sure what to make of the ending handshake though, as it could go either way for the TenmaXHarima route. Personally, I despise that pairing with every fiber of my being so I'm rooting for Eri since their relationship seems the best to me. This being said despite the fact that I am also a heavy Yakumo fanboy. If Harima ends up with Yakumo I'd be happy enough too, just so long as he does not end up with Tenma.
This episode was just awesome--the fish missiles, the curry bowl sled, the hug and Tenma getting embarrassed--it was all really well done. This was really the first episode where it felt like Harima and Tenma actually communicated--usually one of them fatally misunderstands the other and chaos/comedy ensues, but there was no mistaking Harima's apology.
Harima's manga on the other hand...as dense as Tenma has been in the past I'd be surprised if she really got what Harima was trying to say, but that's Harima's fault for not just confessing directly. Although I like Tenma's character overall, there's no one worse to try to indirectly confess to.
It's impossible to tell if Yakumo's jealous...she's as hard to read as Vanilla from Galaxy Angel. I have to admire Harima's devotion to Tenma, though--he may be an idiot for doing it, but he risks his future as a manga author just so she can be the first to read it. Although Harima x Tenma would have some seriously clueless kids, as focused as Harima is on Tenma it's hard to imagine it ending any other way.

yo i got no idea what was going on between yakumo and tenma in this episode. does yakumo know that harima likes tenma from the facthe manga hero looks like her? i didn't get that.
this episode seemed real short. there were two flashback segments and stuff. it was a decent ep but it seemed like it was 10 minutes long.
Boring, nothing really happened. When will it end? I hope they will make anime up to 188 chpater of manga, still boring....

Well, unless Yakumo is as dense as her hopeless sister, I believe she already knew Harima likes Tenma. The giveaway, as I see it, would be the part where Yakumo encouraged Tenma to read Harima's manga.
The all-knowing Akira also knew about the significance of the manga, as she purposely asked Tenma what she think of the manga in Episode#15 in Harima's earshot.

i agree, i'm pretty sure that yakumo knows that harima likes tenma. also, we get a glimpse of what harima sees of yakumo in the OVA when she sees into his thoughts for the first time. also, eri seems to know that harima likes tenma. as does akira. wtf, heck miko proly knows as well.
... wow, tenma must really be dense if all of her friends and her sister have figured out, somehow i doubt she's gonna take the manga the way harima wants her to take it

i just realized... i'm pretty impressed that harima-kun was able to pull off that hug without blushing or anything--!! i mean when you think back to when he got nervous about touching yakumo's hand and all... i'm so touched by how much he loves tenma :) gosh i could've cried at the end when he was apologizing over and over...
This ep sure carried the drama over well. They added some nice elements not in the manga, too. Anyone want to start a pool on whether or not the story gets original or stays faithful to the manga?
eri seems to know that harima likes tenma
Nope. Still oblivious to that fact.

Great episode, but I don't think it's quite the Holy Grail that everyone is hailing it to be.
I really liked all the Harima inner-turmoil in this episode. That's what really set it apart from other ones. The suprise kicker was Tenma's regret about being so mean to Harima, which ultimately led to their reconciliation. Yakumo trying her best in the situation was also an added bonus.
The scene where Harima just finished his script was handled alot better than I remember from the manga. The added flashback was actually a decent flashback (most of them are downright terrible in any form of media). The expanded hug scene was really killer, with the added in handshake making a strong ending instead of detracting from the scene (pretty much all the added anime parts helped this episode, it really drew out the dramatic core). This episode makes for great comparisons with the drama in Ep. 17.
So why doesn't this get a 10 from me? Alot of people here are saying this episode is so cute that it hurts. For me, only episodes with Yakumo b chapters or good Eri drama gets me to that point.
Even though nostalgia runs high all over this episode, it kinda bothered me that the anime seems self-apparant of the fact that manga or its own run will be ending soon. I don't want like a gajillion episodes of SR, but I still want it to go through all of the manga.

Def a throwback to season 1 here. Good flashbacks. Saddest ep so far, reminded me of Fruits Basket. Harima took some damage in this ep all around, sucks.
The hug was powerful. Tenma's scream broke the poignancy of the moment, but that's standard SR procedure. The broken curry plate was sad, but oh well, f karasuma. I felt supportive of the correct path faction in this ep. Since Eri didn't show her face it was easy to forget about her. When Tenma's not b*tchy or dumb then she's pretty cute I think. She had good shots in this ep.
If SR is giving time to drama, they need to throw in some harem and ecchi too I tell you

ouch im late...(dam holiday)
*cough* anyway this ep has a very serious tone...first part anyway and it felt really wierd :S but the second part brought me the laughs XD skiing on a large curry dish + rocket launcher fishes = ROFL
and owwwh depressing part where harima apologises to tenma...but wtf!? why did they totally ruin the mood with tenma freaking out? :heh: a good solid 9/10

It did feel really weird, made me kinda uncomfy! Music was serious in this ep for sure and that contributes to the tone a lot. I guess they had the Tenma yell for the same reason they had the Eri drop kick--SR never has truly serious moments that go unbroken

i think it was one of the new background music tracks that'll probably be on the nigakki OST or something... cuz once i heard that music on the episode, i listened to the entire 1st OST looking for it and it wasn't there...
Anyone know the song that was playing when harima hugged tenma?
Battle on the cruse. (track 19 on the School Rumble 2 Gakki Original Soundtrack)
Let's see let's see.....one of the worst episode I have seen. Mainly because this involves a bit of TenmaXHarima. Yeah, I'm just biased because I'm a big EriXHarima fan(who's a TenmaXHarima lover anyways...? Pssh...)
This episode pisses me off so much......... If Tenma was replaced by Eri however, then bam, instant perfection.
