Not a bad episode they crammed in the initial D parody:heh: and added some Lala to the first part. Poor harima once again defeated by the beastly karasuma:heh:. The new year's games were a little slapstick like the kite fight between harima and hanai. The swimsuit sumo thing was ok although a bit weird. Next time looks like filler along with a b chapter.

I thought the producers didn't like the flag (because of many cut scenes) but I was wrong. ^^

another great episode........easily get a 9.5/10 from me......for now (since i don't understand japanese). The initial D was super awesome.......the 3D animation is even better than original initial D 4th stage itself. great progress between harimaXeriXtenmaXkarasuma. I do feel really sad that harima get beat up by karasuma.....again......

Hmm...makes me wonder where did Kurasuma learned presure point techniques, he used it twice alreadly...1st one was on christmas day when he grabed Harima and 2nd when Harima charged in the Dragon.

10 out of 10! Omg omg
This episode rocks. Even though the material for actual developments were too little, this episode brought out the School Rumble quality comedy.

The animation in the Initial-D parody was superb. It was as if I'm rewatching Initial D all over again, with the 3d cars and actual drifts on a mountain race course.

Aside from this being a Flag episode (Second part), it can also be said that this is a True Oudou episode. I agree with Eri, I thought the producers were scrapping the "Happy New Year" scene on the end of the second part, but I was so happy it was shown.

The Apple Faction has something to smile about too, since Ichijou and Imadori (lol, I''s anyone?) had some moments in this and more in the next episode. This episode was also the start of the controversial Kite Faction that Takano fans were always talking about. :P

The last part was weird, and also an anime original (I think?). It made me laugh a few times, but it's so weird to the point that it doesn't feel right to laugh anymore. I mean, Tougou and Tennouji sumo shots? I thought the Yoshiyadama sumo shots were bad enough :P But thats just me anyway.

EDIT: Looking through the manga right now, I don't think they'll show the School Trip Arc, unless they scrap the Valentines Material (NOOO) in favor of that. The next episode involves one b chapter and the others look like an original. By the looks of things in the preview, they are probably making an anime original arc which also involves Harima doing another manga work, that could put an end to the second season. I'm a little nervous on how they could do that though, and I really hope they won't skip out at least on the Valentines chapters.

He's not that strong imho, cause in season1 of SR he owned him in basketball or maybe Kurasuma is not that good in basketball.

Initial D parody was godly. Best SR moment yet, easily trouncing the Fish Missiles and the Equilibrium scenes.

The costume bits were funny, especially when Harima ate Imadori whole :heh: Nice Flag moment at the end.

Last part was a BIG letdown though. The producers must really hate any scene involving Yakumo owning Eri (remember the poorly done play/dance ep?), so they made her look fugly as hell...they even tacked on a few pounds :heh:

Just finished watch the subbed version. It's simply a perfect 10, no doubt about it. The racing part was crazy cool, except the guy on the GT-R was so stupid. He got so excited even though he's on the back seat. What a noob.

The last part with togo and friends was giving me mental damage. the way KJ use that low angle from togo's ass it's just horid. Also, kyutaa-kun (i think it's kunta-kun...or probably some other weird bear) look so scary......that thing is even bigger than tenouji...........What was KJ thinking with that last part?

Oh yea, I noticed on the beggining, yoko and itoko was watching those whacky japanese game show where the girls do stupid stuffs and must strip down naked if they screw up. Maybe they joined those gameshow and won the prize. if you pay attention to the TV screen, there's 2 girls that look like yoko and itoko wearing swimsuit.

Aside from the hideous angle use, it is an Awesome episode.

Excellent from start to finish. This episode combined the two things School Rumble fans just cannot get enough of: that trademark School Rumble comedy and the building of the character relations. (Yep, you lucky TenmaXKarasuma and HarimaXEri fans out there.) I seriously could not stop laughing while watching this episode. The Initial D parody with the guy in the backseat. Lala vs the lion that devours Imadori whole. The hilarious takes on the games at the end. And Hanai being launched into the depths of outer space.

This is what School Rumble is all about. :D

Wow. Karasuma surprised me, going so much on the offensive like that. Harsh. Good to see Yakumo get ticked off and start creeping towards Eri with the brush... and then blushing when Eri made the substitution. Yakumo could have done something else to get back at Eri (make her jealous... =D), but that's expecting too much.

The Initial D parody was HILARIOUS! Honestly one of the best parts of SR that didn't involve Harima :P .. and Imadori never fails to be funny as hell in any episode he's in once again.

Didn't mention this earlier, but after going over some parts of 22 again, I have to say that I really liked Lala's performance this episode. Her lines, simple they may be, were nonetheless hilarious. I thought her scenes were among the funniest I've seen. She even has her very own theme song :D, something I really didn't pay attention to much due to her limited screen time.

This episode had some great, funny moments. I just couldn't stop laughing after Harima as the Lion ate up Imadori.

I was surprised that Eri was able to put up with Harima going all over the place, stalking Tenma and Karasuma. Shouldn't Eri put up more of a fight? I guess the only way to make Flag work is to make Eri not Eri.

Once again, when it comes to Eri vs. Yakumo confrontations, Yakumo comes out on top. Eri might be cool and stronger than most, but she seems to always lose out to Yakumo head to head.

When Eri did that switch with Harima, you saw the confusion and hesitation on Yakumo. It is hard to mess up the face of someone you like. That was so cute, and it was an awesome recovery with what Yakumo did to not ruin his face.

This episode has some great Tenma vs. Karasuma moments and developments. There were some good Eri vs. Harima situations, but it's still a very, very one-sided relationship. At the pace they are going, I don't think there will ever be any development for Harima's feelings for Eri (if any) for quite a few more seasons.

However, this was a very funny episode.

This show is so frustrating. No other way to describe it.

I'm over SR's comedy. I think I stopped laughing at it several episodes ago. I'm also pretty much over all the other relationships in this series, other than the main love triangle since, other than the three in that relationship, I find all the other characters inane. I want something to happen in this relationship, I want the equilibrium to end. Yet, all this series does is tease me with moments like the one where Harima and Eri were climbing back up the cliff, and Yakumo painting Harima's face. Those moments were my highlights of this episode... the rest was virtually a waste of time. Never has a show frustrated me so much, yet I'm scared to look away even for a second because I'm almost certain that when something finally does happen, it'll be special and I don't want to miss it. I just wish it'd bloody get there already -_-

Wow, great episode. Had a little bit of everything I like in School Rumble.

- Parody of another popular series (and Inital D! Always a great choice!)
- Plenty of Flag Faction, yay.
- Lala yelling (she was so loud this episode, espeically in the preview for the next ep)
- A little bit of Onigiri Faction, yay.
- Hanai being sent into outer-space.
- Tougou based hilarity (if only they'd used the American national anthem again).

A good conversion of the Manga. Only thing I didn't like was Karasuma. Blast him and his Kung-fu skill. Worth it for the results though.

I certainly can't see them putting the trip to "England" in this series. Which is a shame because it had a lot of Flag (and very GOOD flag stuff) and a lot of Harima being a hero. I'd love it if they used that arc for another couple of OVAs.

confused yakumo is so cute.....eri doesn't have a chance against yakumo head on. there was a part when harima was staring at eri before they doing the lion dance thing. I don't really recall that part happening on the manga. On the anime, harima seems to be fascinated by the way eri talking to those boys before the performance.
Probably it's a sign that this season could be ended with different story from the manga. I personally wanted to see harima ended up with eri. Beside, karasuma seems to like tenma as well. I think right now the cut is pretty clear. harima with eri, tenma with karasuma, mikoto with asou. I still wanna see more hook ups going on. There's still yakumo, akira, hanai, mai.....the list will be on and on

I dont think they will ever get to kyoto ("england") arc on this season. This arc is too long to cover on 4 episodes, especially ep23 gonna be like 22 where half of the show will be filler and the other half will focus on the harima's progress. Neither does the OVA. I hope they continue on to the third term and wrap up the whole thing at the graduation.

Another option I think KJ could take is just simply stop the anime in the middle of kyoto arc and end second term just like that. Just like the way they did on love hina. the anime stop before naru get married. I don't really like that kind of ending.

The only thing I disliked in this ep. was the final part involving tougou, et.al. i didn't find it very funny.

As many of you have said, good old SR has come back with this episode: original comedy with some touchy moments.
About that close-up of Eri smiling, it is in the manga too, but I think that Harima's remark is sweeter in the anime, a little wink to the flag faction ;)

Considering the Manga there's certainly a lot of episodes to be made. Not to mention it'll take at least another series for Harima's love situation to be resolved :p

To fit the Kyoto "England" trip in now is rather impossible. A 4-6 episode OVA might manage to fit a heavily cut down version of it but it would be more likely for it to become the start of the 3rd series. Even the pre-trip stuff would take a good amount of time to cover, not to mention the B-chapters during it.

There's certainly enough material to cover the rest of the series without the trip. Guess I'll have a long time to wait till I get my favourite flag faction moment of all time in anime form.

Can't say enough of the Initial D parody, it's so awesome! The special effects in the parody are even better than Initial D itself. The rest of the arcs are also nicely done. I like how the producer changed little things from the manga to make it smoother and funnier. I would've given 10/10 If it wasn't for the sumo arc in the end that contained disturbing scenes = =

I agree. I think many of these sort of light romance/comedies series fall into the exact same trap; they milk the status quo until people just get bored and wander off. You just can't hold the suspense in a love triangle/square/whatever weird shape SR is in for 50+ episodes. This second season has felt a lot like it's spinning its wheels, especially after episode 19. Finally, there was some movement, but the movement is followed up by...a couple filler episodes, and then this episode which just establishes Harima isn't over Tenma in the slightest.

I like the series, otherwise I wouldn't have watched it this far. But it's time to tie some ends off and find some new plots. Besides, just because a relationship starts doesn't mean the characters should go skipping off into the sunset happily ever after. There's sooo much material you could mine, for example, out of an established HarimaXEri (or Yakumo, whichever you prefer) romantic relationship.

Hmm he's seen many bright points: Ojo paying in the restaurant, Ojo saving his wig during the school contest, Ojo having a teehee moment. Ojo's tight, I'm soo glad her dry spell is over with that marriage and parents and all. For a while I even kinda defected to Yakumo or Tenma even. Too bad Yakumo beat Ojo in the paddle game though, I wanted to see Ojo dish out some damage to everyone.

Really funny episode... I started reading the manga, so I knew (most) of what would happen, but it was hilarious seeing it animated. I can understand why people are frustrated over the slow development of the relationships... I was a few weeks ago, but for some reason I've taken a step back and am enjoying this show for what it is once more. A comedy with slow character development. I don't like using that excuse all that much, since this show DOES have character development and therefore is not entirely a comedy, but it takes a back seat to the comedy and there isn't anything we can do about it except try to enjoy the funny and wait for the serious.
