Welcome to this week's episode of School Rumble Second Term. In the future we'll try and create the thread before each weekend ready for when the episode airs.

Both Seasons (1 & 2) and the OVA(s) of School Rumble have been officially licensed by Funimation and therefore we won't be listing fansubs here on AnimeSuki.

I wasn't expecting much from this episode but it turned out rather well
First part is the ski trip with master skier tenma and co. The stuff they added like akira teasing harima was cute. Karasuma's bit was cute and bizarre especially when he out cosplayed akira:heh:. Second part was the b chapter of lala's attempt at ice skating:heh:. More ichijo, imadori, and togou goodness along with harry and some cute satsuki stuff. The third part yakumo gets sick and harima comes to her rescue after being visited by pyotr:heh:. The parts with yakumo and tenma as kids was uber cute. Next week looks like a beach/summer themed episode.

It seems to be more of a cruise type of thing (couldn't think of the word earlier:heh: ) instead of a beach/summer thing. Still it's a bit out of season but oh well.

The story was alright, I would've give it a 7 but one of my favorite character got a pretty good airtime. Imadori is so funny.

It was a good episode I think, haha lala and imadori is just too hilarious XD

In the manga January is just like 4-5 chapters there is many stuff to put in the January month and then the anime may take of a end that is different than the manga.

I still hope they can have the valantine arc in this season, but that might be kept for the 3rd season I am hoping to see ^^.

this episode was very good. they should have made the substories longer and broken it into two complete episodes.

tenma's weight is close to 120lbs.

I really wasn't expecting much this episode but:

Usually, anime original scenes in School Rumble Ni Gakki are always flat, or mediocre, but this time it put a spice in the love and misunderstanding scenario of Harima to build up the final arc (which is probably either a very original arc, or the valentines day arc). I was left gasping for air when the Onigiri scenes rose up. Of course I don't expect it to be developed to the wishes of the Onigirists (where Yakumo finally falls in-love with Harima!), but who knows, since Yakumo is going to be present in the next episode.

The skate scenes, though it may be a side story was very funny, and pulled off nicely by the anime. And Lala's character is starting to be more likeable, since her voice acting is improving in comparison to the Basketball arc which made me annoyed at her for quite some time. Imadori is always Imadori, and if you put Ichijou beside him, they will be quite the funny (comedy filled) couple.

Winter? Cruise? Sounds so Honey and Clover! Haha. It's gonna be another nosebleed episode for us (especially for those who crave Eri's black swimsuit :p). Can't wait! Can't wait!

Yakumo "painted" it on him, and since SR's hair growth is 10x faster than usual (Harima's baldness was grown overnight :o, and Harima's beard grew from head to floor in just 2 months), it's just logical in SR world to have his hige back :p

Onigiri scene was cute, Lala/Imadori ice skating was funny, but Akira stole the whole show. Her surprised reaction to Harima, getting pissed at Karasuma for stealing her thunder, and most of all, BEAR SUIT :heh:

They should make a Fumoffu-style spin-off with her :D

Just watched the episode.
It seems to me Flag faction and Onigiri faction advocates should be both pleased and frustated with the so many things that Harima has experienced in these last few episodes. So far, it has really been quite the see-saw battle between Eri and Yakumo for Harima, and I for one am interested to see whom he will ultimately be paired up with.

Other than that, this episode was enjoyable. I didn't find it as funny as the last, but it still passes with excellent marks on my scoreboard. Lala again put on a hilarious performance. I especially liked that random burst of "Ichijou!" after she finally noticed that her washing machine had gone out of control.:heh: So random, it got me laughing.8/10

...I was actually quite surprised when that happened. I'm not completely sure about this, but I think this was the first time Akira was out of character. I mean, when was the last time we saw her not her usual expressionless self?

The anime original stuff was indeed very good this episode. A good episode, the Onigiri part was especially sweet. Not neccesarily hilarious but funny and cute throughout with some added intrigue.

what does Onigiri mean?
In school rumble, Onigiri is the name of the faction for Harima and Yakumo. There are also MANY other factions, like Flag for Eri and Harima.

Takano and Karasuma were hilarious together. Strangest characters in the show by far, and they usually don't entertain me too much, but Takano has been hilarious lately. Good episode, had me laughing a lot and feeling the general enjoyment I used to get in season one.

The tea thing happen on episode 11 season 2. it was one of the filler.

Takano and karasuma look really cute on those costumes. I'm surprised that tenma wasn't noticed the cuteness on those two. I think karasuma should end up with takano. They both mysterious, powerful, quiet, and love cosplay.

Does anyone noticed that they draw yakumo so ugly in the beginning of this episode? But toward the end, she look so cute........especially with the fever and the chibi-yakumo

onigiri is a type of sushi made in the palm of your hand and pressed.

if you remeber when harima was fixing tenma's house in the first season, yakumo brought him some onigiri rice balls to eat.

Akira with an expression surprised me, and funny she commented on Tenma's lack of reaction when she's the one that usually not reacting to anything. :heh:

I just can't laugh at this series anymore. The wit is almost completely evaporated, and the charm from the first series has only rarely turned up in this series. I dug the Onigiri scene towards the end, but this continuous, yet sporadic teasing is just not enough.

For the Onigiri scene, though: Harima is dragged over to the house by the giraffe (-_-;; ), and all he does is put her in bed. Then he immediately turns around thinking about how he has that manga to go do before falling asleep. The third portion seemed anti-Onigiri. T_T

lala's little scene was not funny whatsoever tho -.- she has lost her funny side imo...now its just annoying
but akira skiing was funny XD i mean she likes cosplaying so bad she thinks turning into a snowman is comfortable :eek:

and haha pyotr stamping on harima's head XD

nice random ep but the parings need to be sorted out imo...nice glimpse of the Onigiri faction has my full support :)

In fact, it seemed to me that despite the fact Akira was spitting out tea, she wasn't wearing any extraordinary expression on her face. For me, her display of shock this episode just seemed like the first time Takano was anything but expressionless. That's why I felt she was so out of character.

I agree. In fact there should be another faction; Karasuma and Akira Takano faction name... CosplayAfter considering the possibility a bit, I say the two do make quite a matchup here. But then you would have two fairly indifferent souls together, and I don't see much passion and excitement following. :heh:

I totally agreed with that man.......Cosplay Faction FTW.......One is quiet half-alien dude with super power that even harima can't handle, the other one is a quiet, witty super secret agent that know how to use mutliple arm gun fight art or even bare hand. and what do they have in common.......COSPLAY......

I say they are meant for each other. It's so cute when takano dragging karasuma by his chain while both of them on their costume.

It does seem like it. Although i don't remember reading that last part on the manga. I just hope next episode will start with another huge misunderstanding when tenma come home and found yakumo and harima both lying on the floor.....and with eri next to tenma. That would be awesome.

From preview of next episode, I don't think they will put the kyoto trip and neither the valentine day arc. I got a filling that they will put a bunch of fillers on these last 3 episodes. I hope they start with 3rd term or some kind of OVA to finish up the rest of the story. I still have the feeling that school rumble is still far from being resolve. Especially after KJ starting his new manga.

the series has become a dead horse.... the mangaka and prodcers have been beating the living shit out of this once phenomenal now dead horse. and it doesnt seem that they plan on stopping anytime soon.

so sad, when a great show sinks into mediocrity... you cant believe its happening, and its atrocious... yet u cant turn away, because u want to see how this car wreck will eventually implode on itself.

that is unfortunatly true...i want it to conclude either this season or its followed by some ova of some kind...but having a 3rd season (maybe?) does seem a bit repetitive :heh:

I can't believe Tenma actually did something well in skiing and they didn't make it a fantasy sequence. Best part of this ep was the hints of next ep with Eri and Miko fanservice

-Showing Tenma good at skiing (didn't really get that in the manga)
-Harima carrying in Yakumo and the flashback scenes.
-Ichijou embarressing herself.

-The way they did "you're too fat".

Well...Tenma is skilled at stuff that she is interested in, that's why she is not good at almost everything (cooking, studying etc.) because she has no interest in them at all. Thus from this episode we can see that...

Tenma loves skiing, which is why she is so skilled at it heh...

Where in the hell is this series headed? this is turning into a series that has been on for far too long and now it just dragging the hell out. Which sucks i really love School Rumble i just dont see any movement in the plot. its just disappointing however i did enjoy Tenma tearin up the mountain with her ski skillz.

Once again Harima is alone with Yakumo.

I thought i heard Tenma mention something about a term 3 does anyone think they are going for a third season?

Prolly can be ascertained by evaluating financial stats. It's the only thing that matters. Quality's intangible. Yen aren't. Dunno where to find them though.

I think School Rumble still has quite a long way to go, so don't expect it to end anytime soon. It's not called School Rumble for no reason. Anyway this show is more for open-minded watchers. Those who are narrow-minded and only want to know whether and when the main goals will be achieved probably will get frustrated as to like so long still no result...like this School Rumble is probably not the show for them. School Rumble is not just about Tenma, Harima, Eri and Karasuma...it's about every important student mentioned in School Rumble and is really mainly all about school life. Therefore I can't wait for a 3rd season which i believe will happen. Anything can just happen in School Rumble.

P.S. This show is especially for those who miss the younger school days...which you can never go back once you pass it...

Everything from Ep.20 onwards, with the exception of Ep.22, is original material, and likely will continue to be original material for the rest of the season. I'm not sure if this is because there isn't enough room to finish an upcoming big story arc in the manga, or because the animators want to take the series in a new direction, but the writing has shown a drop in quality since then. If they ever get back to the source material from the manga, that should change considerably.

I think School Rumble still has quite a long way to go, so don't expect it to end anytime soon. It's not called School Rumble for no reason. Anyway this show is more for open-minded watchers. Agreed. The harem mentality leads us to think in terms of goals and winning and losing. It's far better to just watch this show passively and enjoy the characters, rather than trying to predict who will end up with whom.

Miss isn't the word that I would use, but SR has a whole new level to it if you can relate the misunderstandings and the follies of the characters to your own past mistakes. :heh:
