This was so-so
-First part, sawachika treats the whole class to a cruise, due to masaru's unmovable will to follow orders the ship gets damaged in a bermuda triangle sort of place. Nakamura and masaru go search for help while the class stays behind.
-Second part, Hanai's kite trip takes him to an island with people similar to those back home in japan. The queen wants to sacrifce yaakumo to a devil tusk in order to appease him but hanai offers to slay it in order to protect yaakumo. Yaakumo wants to marry him but he refuses and conitnues his trip back to japan on his way he runs into his classmates who all shared the same dream of Hanai's adventure.
-Third part is a continuation of the first, the ship is slowly making it's way to the south pole. Tenma sees karasuma dressed up as a penguin and she thinks he's telling her not to give up. Long story short they get saved by a white whale who falls in love with yakumo which tugs them back to japan. Next ep preview was sort of weird and didn't give much :heh: except that Harima was in all the titles.
- Overall it was okay the animation and filler story with the one manga chapter was kind of meh but it was good for some cheap laughs. Let's what next one brings:heh:

Well, it's understandable if you see the trend in the dreams of the characters in SR. Remember Tenma's dream about being a school idol? It was as logical as having Hanai not grabbing any stray chance of being together with Yakumo.:heh:

sigh....just watched mine. It was an OK filler. lots of swim suit action.:D no harima-yakumo action:mad: 100% filler:sad:
totally out of no where, even though there are some funny jokes here and there scattered throughout the episode. For now, i would give it a 6 out of 10 since it was out of proportion with the main story line. But till i watch the subbed version, i will hold my judgement.
Next week preview seems to be another filler that is out of the manga story line again:mad: It's gotta be something to do with yakumo. I'm not sure if it's one of the B chapter story or not, but it's not on the main plot.
I think my prediction becoming reality. Seems like 2nd term will end with a bunch of nonsense fillers based on the last 2 episodes, including this one. There's no way they can put the main plot with only 2 episodes left. That's mean either they use them for OVAs, 3rd season, or make one long movie out of it. Either way, I hope there will be fansub group that will take the project. Or we will have to wait for a year till funimation catch up with the current episode (hopefully sooner).
Either way, I still gonna stick with the manga, and hope it will come to conclusion any time soon.

ロマンチックだね、播磨くん!
ジンガマに載った、播磨くん!
キャモ〜ン♡、播磨くん!
Romantic isn't it Harima-kun!
It was put into the Jingama Magazine Harima-kun!
Come on Harima-kun!
This doesn't seem to be in line with the manga. And it can't be the Valentines thing because of that Jingama thing stuck in there.
I, for one, hope for a genuine riceball ep. Hasn't been one in a while!
The only good thing to come of this episode was the preview for the next one

Well actually there is one fansub group that's fansubbing School Rumble. I'm not going to reveal who so go figure but many should know by now (at least better than nothing)
My review:
The first part was okay. From a cruise to a shipwreck after the ship hit some rocks, then Nakamura and the male maid sailed and never came back..
The 2nd part shows Hanai with another race of Class 2C girls (notice there are no boys :/). Definitely the part to broadcast the Hanai's true feelings towards Yakumo even though she wasn't the real Yakumo. Though Yakumo had a dream of it heh..
The 3rd part what i find funny is the whale..Yakumo's friendship towards animals is enough to make even a whale blush...lol
The preview is kinda....eerie. As stated in the above spoilers something to do with Harima and i think the person talking during the preview is Yakumo. Sounds like a riceball faction.
Overall i rate it 8/10.

i think the ending was a bit awkward. harima is supposed to be the animal master, the shouldnt have been hiding like that and left yakumo alone. the panda part was good though and the short cameo at the very end with the butler and masaru.

Great and funny 10/10 though it was a filler. >_<
As long as the episodes make me laugh it's a 10.
1.Fan service
2.Taned Yakumo anyone?
3.Whale of a tale!
Well anyways the Yakumo in the next episode seems more like the ghost girl!!! EEEEK!!

An okay episode. The whale falling in love with Yakumo was so cute but the majority of it wasn't exceptionally funny.
I'm starting to think that the anime is becoming very biased against onigiri. With this episode Harima ducking down and leaving Yakumo stood up (he did tell her to duck down at least) and last episode with him wanting to leave Yakumo even though she had passed out (he did put her in bed at least).

Harima seems to be getting weaker! I was surprised he coudln't even cut the tuna. His behavior is also disappointing cowardly hiding from the whale. This isn't the Harima we know!

harima is taking a trip to his pussy side......probably after getting owned by karasuma..not once, but twice in front of tenma made him such a wuss.
Quite silly story in this episode. Senseless, not even funny. The best part is the one in the middle, which is original from the manga.
That preview... From the mixture of what Yakumo says and the titles of the three parts, one can expect an onigiri faction development, as some of you have said. I can't associate the preview with any chapter of the manga so it might be an original anime episode. If I am right, then this twist to the onigiri faction two episodes before the end could be quite meaningful...

wooohooo....onigiri development coming next week.......i hope yakumo will spill out her guts on harima.....i just wanna see one of them ended up with him.
This episode was absolutely ridiculous lol. Not much of what happened made any sense whatsoever, but nonetheless I still found the episode funny and quite entertaining. My favorite parts included Imadori's 1,2,3 with the sudden Lala appearance and the very last bit when Nakamura and the maid meets up with Queen Eri.
Overall, 24 was fun but not great. 8/10

I think it's quite a pity Harima's delinquent side has faded and now he's simply a comedy character. Hanai seems to have weakened considerably as well. Whatever happened to the tough boys of 2-C?
Anyway, regarding the part where Yaakumo was saying how her father is letting her marry Hanai, I was half-expecting the re-appearance of the Drunken Master old guy.
Speaking of the red panda, it seems to grow bigger with each appearance.
Gave this episode a 6. Thoroughly average, not gut-busting hilarious nor any did anything dramatic happen.

But why..? The delinquent boy thingy is such a cliche thing that I don't really think SR needs to rely on it on any way or form. I've read too much of those bad boy stuff to care about the delinquent side of Harima.. Anyway, I think part of the point is that Harima is trying to reform himself for Tenma. SR isn't all that consistent (and people argue that doesn't matter) so I don't expect to see any strong, consistent threads to run through the story anytime soon..

I am trying to lower my expectations for the next episode so I won't get disappointed. A Yakumo and Harima twist is just too good to be true! I have been rooting for Yakumo for two seasons but I've always thought Harima would end up with Eri. =/ A lot of people will be displeased if flag doesn't make it to the end and I'm not sure if Koyabashi will take that risk.

Well, why not? At least it makes Harima's character stand out among the bunch. If the bad-boy character is cliche, Harima is even more generic now. What makes him special now? I thought his VA originally conveyed his character rather well (his tough side as a delinquent and his soft side when it comes to anything Tenma-related). Now he just seems like another Nara.

Harima is not a wuss, pushover or pussy, due to Kurasuma owwning him.
He's just demoralized that's all...
But if ever he gets his momentum back he will be 100% bad @$$ again.
Remember the song "Light and Shade?"
Be strong to hold the pain so everyone can see
Be weak...If you want to love.
Maybe KJ is listening to old love songs and applying it to Harima LOL

Strange though, Yakumo doesn't call harima "harima-kun" she calls him "harima-senpai" or "harima-san"
Also In the manga, there hasn't been a riceball chapter since Harmia moved in with tenma before getting kicked out. So if this next episode is riceball, it's anime only which some may not even consider it to count. Maybe Jin is pleasing both factions. Manga gets a flag ending, anime gets a riceball...

Given that the original manga material for this section has nearly continuous Flag development for about 20 chapters or so starting with New Years', I'd say quite the opposite, in fact.

It's not really KJ's choice here. If the animators decide to force an ending, there isn't much that he can do about it. I don't think that a forced Onigiri conclusion at this point will be very good, though, from anyone's standpoint. These sort of things need a lot more time to grow, so that the characters stay in character. I have far too little faith in the anime's original material to believe in their ability to write a convincing ending at this point.

Harima's true strength as a character isn't really physical so much as it is mental. If you look back to the speech that he gives in Ep.17 S2, you'll see that he still has the spark in him. If and when the anime gets back to the material from the manga, you'll see more of that strength.

Same goes for Harima, he never calls her Yakumo, only imouto-san or imouto-sama(manga). Remember season1 of SR? Yakumo said to Eri "Harima-senpai"
and for those who have the first game of SR PS2, you'll here Harima say "Yakumo is breakfast ready?"
Tenma's soul has overtaken Harima's body so Harima...err I mean Tenma calls Yakumo as her name in Harima's body and a funny scene where Harima or the possessed Harima calls Eri, "ERI_CHAN~~!!!" :D

It's really too bad, but at least it's something we can imagine. I like what Streetor says about the manga and anime endings though.
The high level of totally-crazy filler episodes is beginning to seriously hamper my enjoyment of the show. I don't have anything against zaniness every once in a while, but it should be the EXCEPTION rather than the rule. Lately, it isn't.
I guess it's the fear of the creators of "endlessly running" shows to let go, conclude, and start something new. That's when they begin to beat around the bush in order not to commit to anything meaningful *shrug*
It's clear that SR won't end anytime soon, neither the anime nor the manga. But I really long for anything (at least temporarily) meaningful instead of this pointless fluff.
Too bad. Because the characters are good.

Yeah but a high quantity of the situations in the manga have been shown Eri is growing to like Harima more but Harima is really not interested. Whilst Yakumo and Harima has not been pursued enough to show Harima's true feelings for her. In the anime recently it's been completley different. Next episode will show how the anime feels about Onigiri I'm guessing : D.
I too miss the delinquent Harima of old. Love has completley turned him soft now. He's only going to get milder as far as I can tell.
If this series is the last for School Rumble then whatever ending they give is going to be either forced or inconclusive. There's just been no massive build towards a genuine Harima choice. It needs a third series before it can end.

That's a reasonable statement.

This one contradicts yourself, though. He wasn't interested in the first place in romance with Eri and Yakumo (as far as I can see). What really made him 'soft' was friendship, I suppose. The 'delinquent Harima of the old' changed into a person with an objective because of his huge crush on Tenma. It doesn't show him to be any more stronger, but in truth he actually has a goal...Doesn't that make him a better person?

Marker and Pencil are similarily poorly developed to Onigiri. All three, for the most part, exist entirely in reaction to Flag. Lack of progress is just that - lack of progress. It bodes poorly in the face of factions that continually grow, like Oudou, True Oudou, and Flag.
Flag does grow, from Harima's standpoint. He trusts her with his most valuable secret. Were he to suddenly show signs of great change, you would
1) Lose interest, since the direction of the series becomes obvious
2) Describe him as acting out of character.
If you look at the Ep. 17 thread, people had a hard enough time accepting the new side of Eri to be her real personality. Imagine how much difficulty they will have in suddenly accepting a Harima who shows interest in a girl other than Tenma?
Next episode may show how the anime feels about Onigiri, or it may show how it feels about Oudou, as based on the summary on the website. If it's the former, though, well - if 24 episodes weren't enough time to develop any romantic feelings, how can 2 episodes be enough time?

Soft in what sense? He's always had a mushy side, from the start of the series. While we don't see him beat up random students like Tennouji and Yoshidayama so much anymore, he's still got the drive and determination that characterized him in Season 1. His strength is in his persistance.

More so for Marker and Pencil compared to Onigiri. At least there was something there, more interaction compared to those two pairings.
I say again...His most valuable secret is not completely let out yet. It was a MISUNDERSTANDING. Sure, I won't deny that it is trust, and it's trust as much as a friend would give.
Exactly because in the last two episodes, it might/might not (more of the latter, really) give a resolution to either Onigiri or Oudou, I don't find any space for resolution for Flag either. Two episodes is still too short. If it's that way for Onigiri, I don't see why it can't be that way for Flag as well. In short, it might be more of a small development in Onigiri and possibly a giant step in the resolution of Oudou. It can't hurt to hope anyway, considering how the preview is implying as such.

It is too short for Flag as well - but I didn't bother mentioning Flag because the preview sets the direction for the episode. I wouldn't mind if something is achieved for anyone but that things are left open for continuation. I just don't want to see a forced ending simply for the purposes of ingratiating a few fans, even with a Flag ending. Let SR play out to it's full, and come to a conclusion at its own pace.

Well, the more reason to think that there would be finally a conclusion to Harima's feelings for Tenma, or simply a conclusion to Ni Gakki and a new beginning (possibly).

I could live with an Oudou ending in two episodes, considering the way in which the anime portrayed Harima and Tenma during Christmas - they actually have something from which to work from. Granted, I want to see the upcoming story arcs animated, but I think an Oudou ending could be pulled off without making the series look silly. For that matter, an Oudou ending could be sprung at any time at all, if need be.
If they are gunning for an ending, though, I wish that they had put that 1 hour filler special to better use. Unless we're just killing time until next season, we'd be better off developing into an ending by making use of four episodes, rather than just two. There are a lot of loose ends to tie up, after all.

A resolution would be fine with me. I don't necessarily need to see an immediately confession and acceptance. Let's just see how the anime goes.:p

The idea of an OVA or two? :heh: An one-hour special doesn't seem like a bad idea. It would prove to be appropriate too.
It's quite reasonable to think SR won't end this season. If they wanted to end the series, they would have used the last episodes to make a proper ending, instead of making fillers (at least if the director sees this anime as something more than a random comedy).
However, I think the last two episodes of this season are going to be serious. They want to make a season ending, so they need to give a feeling of partial conclusion. In order to do that, I think they're going to develop a faction. When I say "to develop" I mean either to strengthen a relationship or mayble only to clarify the feelings of one of the characters. I think Yakumo will be the target.

A closed ending would involve some sort of confession. If they want to leave it open, they might as well leave room to continue off with the source material.

OVA series, preferably. I'd like to come out of this with the feeling that all those minor relationships weren't just purely there just to kill time.

I can't say that it isn't possible, but such an approach would more than likely conflict with the source material from the manga, if and when they decide to return to it. A number of events depend on things being as they are. If we do see a major development, I'd expect a closed ending. If not, I'd expect something more along the lines of that pseudo-ending that they threw in last season.

After watching the show, I was almost positive we were going to have an Onigiri ending. However, I now strongly beleive that we WILL have a conclusion but not riceball (doesn't mean that SR will END so much as have an ending similar to season 1).
The two resolutions that will occur is Harima's romantic feelings and Yakumo's issues with guys. I doubt we'll get Flag, but Harima finally winning over Tenma is a strong possiblity (or some sort of mutual understanding between the two, which lets Tenma get Karasuma). Although I'm not cancelling out Onigiri (it would be neat to have anime end with Onigiri and manga with flag), I think that Yakumo may not end up with anyone. It just seems in her nature that she wouldn't rush anything, but there will most likely be some mutual understanding between Yakumo and Harima also.
It's all just speculation, and we'll probably get an OVA down the road (or possibly another season, depends how far the hole is dug). And I'm also agreeing with everyone else here, 2 episodes is not enough time to make a strong conclusion for any of the factions.
Another thing, I'D KILL TO HAVE THE VALENTINE'S ARC IN ANIME FORM (please!!!)

Soft in what sense? He's always had a mushy side, from the start of the series. While we don't see him beat up random students like Tennouji and Yoshidayama so much anymore, he's still got the drive and determination that characterized him in Season 1. His strength is in his persistance.
Maybe I'm just clutching at straws because I generally want to see Harima be strong again, proclaim his dominance over the other students and be generally tough. He does seem like a much better person, but as a character I liked him better when he was a tough-delinquent.
Obviously it's a dilema, because if he's going to be a tough-delinquent then he's hardly likely to have a "Harima gets a girl" style ending to the series, which is also something I want.
The "England" trip would certainly show the tougher Harima in my opinion, which is part of the reason why I'd really love to see it in the third series or in OVAs
Recently the Anime has been moving away from the Manga a little bit, what with all these Anime only episodes. I'm not particularily a fan of that. In saying that though, if there's some anime-only progress in the end of the series for any of the main Harima relationships then I'd alright with it. It doesn't have to be anything important and it shouldn't be, so as not to force the storyline away from the manga.
Simple scenes like the Onigiri at the end of 23 would help with the slow building of feelings. That's what I feel has been missing from School Rumble for a long time (in the anime).

I'm willing to bet 2nd term will end with some Onigiri faction tease, and 3rd term will have lots of Onigiri faction action. I hear wedding bells ringing :)

REmeber Season1 ended with True Path - Harima's manga and Correct Path - for Tenma she was carried by Kurasuma.
Maybe Season2 would End Flag for Eri and an Onigiri for Yakumo...BUT I'D RATHER HAVE A KIDS MEAL!!! GIMME A HAAAARRREEEMMMAA!!! :D

Harima's turned into a softy. Ep quality varies directly with how much Eri there is. Karasuma needs a good ass kicking. If I remember right, this isn't the first fantasy sequence with Queen Eri. She is just the best. Eri and Miko fanservice can never go wrong.

A closed ending would involve some sort of confession. If they want to leave it open, they might as well leave room to continue off with the source material.
From what I know and have seen, some series leave an open ending, presumably to let the viewers think and imagine for themselves what would happen next. Either that, or a possible runway for the flight of a new season. It's the possibilities, after all.
Harima's turned into a softy.
He's simply showing a mellow side to him more than his badass side, that's all.

If it were, SR would be so terrible from all those episodes with little Eri inside.
Karasuma needs a good ass kicking.
What makes you say so?

harima has turned soft imo...normally he would just beat the hell outta everyone that pisses him off (scenes that we dnt see anymore :() and he getting pushed around by eri way too much :p
also he is a lot less manly...imo he should have tried to protect yakumo when the whale was about to hit the ship but instead he just ducked and screams"were all gonna die!" doesnt seem like him at all -.-

I was quite surprised that he didn't make any attempt to save Yakumo in that scene, I was expecting it. He hasn't exuded the delinquent aura in ages. It seems like that part of him has been forgotten, now he just gets pushed around by everyone and whines all the time. Just as Eri was losing points during her emo/marriage spell, now Harima's falling. It was pretty cool when he said he would take care of the tuna...until he actually tried it. He's turning into more and more of the usual harem male. Just change him into Keitaro and Eri into Naru and we can be done with it.
Harima was what made SR1. Hanai also had some skills. Now I don't know what to think. Karasuma's using hacks and needs to be kicked.
When's that Shana movie coming out anyway
imo he should have tried to protect yakumo when the whale was about to hit the ship but instead he just ducked and screams"were all gonna die!" doesnt seem like him at all -.-I had that same feeling and was really hoping Harima would do more than just huddle on deck there. Where did his fighting spirit go? Oh wait, that slimy tuna stole it.
Karasuma's using hacksAnd him too. I love how you choose to describe Karasuma. lol, hacker...

Yeah...Or maybe Harima is loosing his way to communicate with animals? That's why he did'nt save Yakumo or Harima's powers are being drawn to Yakumo that's why she easily gets closer to animals now rather than Harima.
If ever the Kyoto Arc begins will see the old fassion @$$ kicking Harima.
Yeah imho kurasuma needs his @$$ kicked just for once :D
I do see his point (also that of Sorrow-kun and others who feel the same way), but I don't feel every series needs to be conclusion-oriented, or progress the characters. To take the example of American Tv, you have shows like "the Simpsons" , "I love Lucy", "Happy Days" and other great comedies. The purpose wasn't so much to take a story from A to Z, but rather to let you enjoy the day-to-day adventures and events that happened to the characters. As long as the show kept you laughing with fresh gags and mishaps, there wasn't any need for "change" in characters, rather, it was better to keep them stable. Considering the characters of School Rumble are reasonably well-polished, I enjoy watching even without any major stroyline advancement
If anything, School Rumble actually has more plot development and changes than other classic comedies. I will agree though that the romance element needs development to be meaningful. Otherwise, what point to relationships that never seems to go anywhere? In fact, it could be argued School Rumble is a comedy that has been too successful in developing intriguing romance and thus raising expectations. Even an episode like this one that was funny and watchable felt unsatisfying because we didn't see anything happen romantically. I guess Kiboyashi Jin has just peaked our interest in the love stories too much; plain comedy isn't enough anymore :p .
I can't wait for the next episode, although I'm not expecting any significant Onigiri developments beyond the subtlest of hints. School Rumble has taught me the hard way not to hope for anything too sudden.

Maybe towards the end of School Rumble Karasuma will be taken down by Harima :). I don't like Karasuma either. He can be funny, but I like the tough guy Harima and the martial artist Hanai; I don't like someone who is illogically strong, and yes I know this isn't an action anime, but that doesn't change my opinion.

That's an interesting way to put it. I was wondering what the hell's going on with Harima and this stupid discrepancy. If he could communicate with animals well on land doesn't necessarily mean he can't do that with those on sea.
If ever the Kyoto Arc begins will see the old fassion @$$ kicking Harima.

:heh: He'll be back, alright. The only problem is whether or not that arc will get animated. Besides, I'm STILL more interested in episode 25 as of now. I wonder what's it going to be about...
Man. Even I can't muster the will to like this one too much. Well, except for Hanai's b chapter (normal talking Lala <3). And the cute penguins.
I too also have a feeling that that this season is not the last and will end like the 1st season with some kind of odd dream or alternative reality obviously involving Yakumo's (most likely) subconscious feelings for Harima and exploring the possibility of a Harima & Yakumo pairing.
I really hope that we don't get short-comings, it wouldn't be the first time it's happened in a anime series based on a manga.
