I have seen blogs about Prince of Tennis ending on March, is this true? Is there a source for this info, or is it just a rumor?
If anything, an ending this early will put it to be like Slam Dunk, never getting to the uber-Interhigh finals---stuff like that, and yet ending the anime completely.

I wish it wasn't like that but I suppose its for the best.... if it went on and on the concept of the tennis thing wouldn't be interesting anymore.....
If it doesn't end after Seigaku win the national championship, which, by the way, will totally catch me off guard. A new story should be starting either way, probably another season? OVA or something? But if I was the original author, and have been working on the same project tediously for such a long time, even the Seigaku boys would tire me out a little, so probably just give it a rest there. Plus, the fillers have been kind of reptitive, so is the anime itself. Before it was like all new moves, now it's only variations of the same move. HMM. I'm just bitching because I'm deeply traumatized by the title of this thread. anyhow, GO GO GO SE-I-GA-KU!!!!!
in btw, i suggest 'Prince of Tennis is Space', and they can have Oneigai Teacher/Escaflown/Nadesico/Tenchi characters guest star on the show. which would totally rock, it's going to encompass most anime genres that's out there.

Well, in the subbed eps they've only just beat rokkaku, and they're only one away from winning the regionals. Perhaps they're going to get part way thru the nationals and lose, and that's where the series will end. (but the manga will probably go on.)
How substantial are these rumours tho? I'll only believe it when the japanese home page says it'll be over.

sniffle... well, i guess my cable internet days came to an ending at just the right time. no more prince of tennis, i cant find anything else to dl, besides naruto, but i can always get my friend's, hes a naruto maniac. prince of tennis is so freaking cool. too bad its coming to an end

I get the feel that there's lots of anxious people that don't want this to end and are hoping that news will come out that it won't end... but face it..... I'm sure it will end some day or soon because there's isn't much you can do with a sport anime...
This may sound quite self contradictory but although I made that statement, I'm one of those who are wishing it won't end either... I'm confused :confused:

Dunno what volume, I just search for blogs of people watching Prince of Tennis (manga and anime). That's where I get most of the info, including that 'PoT ending in March' rumor.

There's a group who's very up to date on the manga scanlations. They are up to chapter 208, which is right after the doubles 1 match with Rikkai-dai. I don't know if I can name the group here, so just search it on google.

prince of tennis is a good show... but it does get repetitive and stupid quite a bit (prince of billiards and prince of bowling specials were crap to me).... I love the show but I think its time has come........ but I still want some new episodes... :D

If POT is set to end in March, it's unlikely that it will get to the nationals. Those who read the manga should know that Seigaku's match with Rikkai-dai is incredibly long with each individual match most likely spanning 2 eps. So the series may end with Seigaku going to the nationals and that's it. Also, Seigaku already qualified for the nationals, so whether they win or lose against Rikkai-dai doesn't matter.

Well, playing against Rikkai-dai is kind of like playing in the nationals. Rikkai-dai has won the nationals the last 2 years and this year their team is even stronger. All 7 of their players are nationally ranked and their top 2 players are better than tezuka. SO if seigaku can beat Rikkai-dai, I'd say that's a pretty good indication that Seigaku will win the nationals.

They have not at all started the match with Rikkai. And each match takes around 2 episodes (2 weeks) to conclude. And the episodes from 99-116 are all on their practices, private life, etc, no one had yet to play rikkai yet except for ryoma who lost all six games.
Oh! Since lost both the double games (spoilers!), which will take up a month, I bet that the producers would not just let them lose the rest of the matches so easily.
I envy those Japanese who will be watching the 1 hour special chibis today.

Not spoilers just speculation.....
If they lose to rikkai during the finals and then go to nationals to kick ass... i think that would be a real treat ....... but juding by what people say it doesn't look like its heading towards that in the eps....
and this is just a guessl.... perhaps they would like to cut the series short and maybe have the nationals in OVAs.... that could be another possibility.... then the OVAs would be in higher demand... lots of cash to make here......

yes am keeping that in mind..... but it is a scary thought to be without the seigaku boys........ i will definitely cry because of all the good times i've spent watching them....

I actually like the pobillards and pobowling espisodes... i find them really funny and gave the characters life.... i mean life's not just about tennis and as from another thread... they don seem to have to study!!!! : (

any updates on this? Obviously the reason the anime is on a down time is because it finally caught up to the manga. So does anybody know what the producers are planning? Is the manga going to continue? If so, till how far? past the Nationals or just finish the Nationals? And where does this leave the anime? Are they ending the anime before the Nationals and then doing a few OVAs to show the Nationals or what?...
I am not asking when the animes are released btw but I'd like to know what's going on... :)

same here. has anyone some infos on this? it would be a bit disapointing if there wasn't any new eps coming out and #115 were the last one. all the talking about how great his father was and what not made me think, this series would go all the way to the grand slam (or other major tournaments) until echizen is world champion (or not).
