Since the Rozen Maiden forum is now limited (only Mods and Admin can create new threads), this thread serves as a way to request a new thread to be created.

Please post here if you wish to request a new Rozen Maiden thread. Please bear in mind that we will only accept reasonable requests, we wish to maintain the focus within the forum and cut down on the noise (so no pointless threads cluttering up the place).

Don't forget that you may still post in existing threads as usual, the only restriction is that you may not create new threads within this particular forum.

I belive it is still too soon to request a Thread for the ~Ouverture~ OVA.., since in fact we do not have "that much" information regarding it.

For those who are interested I have gathered here in the "Questions & Answers" Thread, POST #5 (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=698471&postcount=5) (click on the link to view the full post) all the current information we have regarding Rozen Maiden ~Ouverture~

..And much like I there wrotte.., once more updates on this follow, I am pretty positive that A.Suki will Then create a proper Thread for it in the "Current Series Discussion" section.

Actually I have no problem with having a thread for ~ Ouverture ~ now. I'm sure many people want to discuss the possibilities and make predictions, as they started to do in the original thread.

Actualy I don't think this is a bad idea..
After reviewing over 6k posts in the Main ~Traumend~ thread.., I caught up quite a few fan-fiction stories all scattered arround.

However they are not enough to compleat a full 20 page Thread, I belive some of the people who used to post in the ~Traumend~ thread have they're own fan-fictions already in display elsewhere... ; they probably just never got arround to post them here because they would soon be lost due to the constant movement the thread had.

Even still if just for Flo's fan-fiction & Lost's "Alice Race" it would be nice if they could have a proper place to be displayed... ; for they realy do deserve it. :)

NightWish might be a better judge of this one than me.There are a lot of them... so I think distinct discussion is possible. I think it might well be swamped in the image thread, like most RM related discussion, on this forum at least.

Dark Steno: Make a post below, as if you were starting a new thread for RM Doujin discussion. Outline the point of the thread and any restrictions / rules (like no ero content). I'll make the final decision based on exactly what your post proposes :)

I remember we already having made 2 polls in the Main thread long long ago :p

Altough we cannot tell who won because.. well.., they wheren't "actualy" polls.., its safe to say that Gin-sama! is by far the favorite and wins vs every other doll ;)
But just in case some may not belive me.., a apropriate Poll would definitly be a good idea as to find out if I am right or rong ; in other words.., I'm all for it :)

I agree with the poll idea thing. :) But instead of having a 'Favourite Doll' poll, I think it would be better to make the 'Favourite Characters In Rozen Maiden' (multiple choice) poll. Try to include Jun, Nori & the rest of the characters that appear in RM (other characters deserve some love too, don't you think so? ;) ). As for the limit of choice, I'll leave it up to the moderator to decide. ;)

My mind is blurred at the moment. So other than the dolls, Jun, Nori, Megu (Suigintou's medium), Mitsu/Mi-chan (Kanaria's medium) & Tomoe, I can't remember anyone else. (I need to re-watch the series again) :eyespin: Need someone to suggest the names for the poll. :)

If I can try to remember past events in one of the Fave Character Poll (Shuffle) and the 2006 Saimoe before it got closed and remade. There has been lots of propaganda posting to vote for such and such characters in the poll/thread.

And so instead of a proper discussion of why such characters deserve your vote, it becomes why you must vote for the character and cool propaganda posters. In the end the poll will be flood with propaganda with little to no discussions made.

So I was thinking of the Propaganda to have its own thread so the poll will be purely discussions and free from propaganda. While all the "THIS CHARACTER IS THE BEST!" will be in the propaganda thread.

Errr, no. The last thing we want is to encourage such a thread where there is no real discussion and just one-line replies and campaign images. We learnt our lesson from the Shuffle forum and we rather not have it repeated.

I know you guys like to keep things shamelessly on topic about the anime, but today's Rocketboom episode (http://www.rocketboom.com/vlog/archives/2006/11/rb_06_nov_28.html) features an interview with a doll maker. It was cute, and reminded me of Rozen Maiden a bit.
:) But there's no reason why this could not be discussed in the main Rozen Maiden (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=19318) thread, it's there for just this sort of thing. I can move your post if you wish (or you could repost and add your thoughts about the interview).

Just to make it clear, it's not that you require permission to create a new thread, it's simply that you are unable to create new threads in this forum (or in many of the other "Series Discussion" forums). Only Mods and Admin can create new threads so you need to make a request for someone to create the thread for you.

If you are wondering why we have set up these forums in this way, it's explained in the first post of this thread.
Please bear in mind that we will only accept reasonable requests, we wish to maintain the focus within the forum and cut down on the noise (so no pointless threads cluttering up the place).

It's not unusual, at least not on Animesuki Forums, because even the sub-forums of currently airing series are "locked" ones. Take for example the sub-forums of the shows Pumpkin Scissors (http://forums.animesuki.com/forumdisplay.php?f=65), Code Geass (http://forums.animesuki.com/forumdisplay.php?f=64), even the widely popular Kanon (http://forums.animesuki.com/forumdisplay.php?f=57) and DeathNote (http://forums.animesuki.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58). Simply, it cuts down on useless threads that will inevitably pop up now and then should the right of creating new threads be allowed to any member.

Should this forum even be "locked"? It's only been a couple of months since the last eps, you can guarantee there's going to be another series either on air or revealed this year(since it's based on an ongoing manga and is fairly popular so likely to take a long term break anytime soon), and probably the year after that, there's a game coming out very soon, etc., etc.

I know it probably fits the forum's description for what should and shouldn't be open but it seems kind of awkward to me, especially when the last series ended on a cliff hanger. You never know when another once off ep is going to appear, either.
If you wish to discuss a particular topic (and a suitable thread doesn't already exist), then all you need do is post here requesting a thread to be created. It's not as if we are prohibiting discussion, all we are doing is cutting down on the pointless chatter and meaningless threads.

As for the forum being limited, that is not under discussion here.

That's not really what I meant.
The image thread has already past 100 posts, so it would probably be a bad idea to post unrelated content there, and merchandise would also be different since we're talking about fan made and not official.
I'm meaning a thread where people can post downloadable creations of all sorts that have no relation to the types of things posted in image or merchandise threads.

I don't think it would be best to post these in the image thread, perhaps Rozen Maiden Downloads, but not image thread.
Besides, I've already tried posting my Win-Amp skins and cardsets in the image thread and a lot of people liked them, then 10 pages later, they've either completely forgotten about them or have to search through 100 pages to find them.
But a download tread would make it much easier and definitely more organized.

The show is long since over so we will not create episode threads unless/until more are produced. If you want a character thread, I suggest you do as the post xris made above suggests, start it by posting in this thread and demonstrate what cannot be discussed in the existing threads. If we agree there is a point to it, as presented, we will split off the post as a new thread.

It's too early to say that these two stories will be officially different. For all we know, there may be a connection between the two.

It's a good idea, but I think there are a lot of other threads that would make be a better choice.
For example, I could say that Suigintou is my favorite, but once I've said that, I don't have any reason to post in the thread again.
If the thread were to stay alive, it would have to go off topic.

Well, the kind of posts in that thread should be, to expand what Suigin x Tou said, as detailed as possible, presenting reasons about why a girl should became Alice and discuss with reasonable facts who would have more posibilities. Posts like "I think Hina should became Alice because she's sooo cute!" should be avoided (of course these kind of posts are everywhere and are almost impossible to prevent).
But on a second thought, now that the manga is running again, there is a real chance of one becoming Alice (who knows what surprises is the author saving for us :p), so if one ever becomes Alice, this thread will turn out to be useless and pointless.

What you said about the manga is probably going to happen, but the thread I want isn't the "Who you guess will become Alice", but who deserves to become her/has more possibilities to become her. For example, if this thread is ever created, Shinku might be the winner of the poll, but maybe Kanaria becomes Alice in the manga.

This won't be necessary. With barely anybody visiting this forum now that it is not in the currently airing section, a new thread would be rather pointless. There is a general discussion thread where you can be able to talk about that at this point.

To be honest, (though I'm not trying to start a conversation in this thread) Shinku has already stated in both the manga and anime that she has no intention of continuing the Alice-Game.
I felt that the ending of Träumend as well as the manga made it quite clear that the Alice-Game is an easy alternative, or test, that was most likely conjured up by Laplace, and in playing it you actually have a higher chance of distancing yourself from becoming Alice.
After all, it was Rozen that said "...But the 'Alice Game' isn't the only way to become Alice".
My guess is that all the dolls will be brought back and will somehow make peace, thus, through peace, will become Alice.
If Alice were created from each doll fighting to the death, then how can she be perfect?
Suigintou may have a strong hatred for Shinku, but forgiveness is still possible.
As for Kirakishou, that might be a bit of a challenge. ^_^
