A megaton is a measure of units of explosive power, measured in tons of TNT.

200 Megatons is equal to two-hundred MILLION tons of TNT.
The largest nuke detonated is 53 megatons, the Tsar Bomba (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9AMtUeyDP0), which had a shockwave that was measurable on it's third pass around the earth.

A 200 megaton blast would cause a nuclear fireball three miles across, and cause third degree burns over seventy miles away. (Give or take how much the curvature of the planet protects people and keeps them out of Line Of Sight of the radiation burst.)

As for the image, you need to realize the time on the impact. The text in the lower corner states
IMPACT + 0.003 s So it's three thousandths of a second into the hit. In a few more thousandths of a second, if that image wasn't custom made for a specific moment (I just use it because it looks nice, and I'm too lazy to make a bunch more.) the entire city depicted there would be VAPORIZED and the surrounding landscape glassed.

It's good to know scientific terms of measure, even if you don't really use them.
They allow you to visualize something without having to actually see it and you don't have to go through lengthy conversations where people have to spell out just how huge something is with flash cards and visual aids.

The same thing that happens to anything when you deliver that much energy. It heats up and expands... Violently. Just because the energy is being delivered via high energy particle beam, doesn't mean it's not that much energy.

After all, a grill cooking at 510 degrees dosn't look like it'll melt the skin off your hand... but it will. And I work with two of them daily.

You're just seeing the very moment of impact before the energy delivery creates the actual explosion.

Tracing the picture number back to pixiv, here is the artist's page (http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?id=243205). According to the tags, it was apparently a April's Fool picture. For what? Your guess.

No, the toast is generated using a program that takes a pre-existing image and places it on a slice of bread.

It's like those "Make your own [thing]" generators. You upload a pic, and it gets transferred onto a plain piece of bread. I remember there was a link to it, or at least a better description as to how it works, but I don't have it on me.

At least, that's what I know. I prefer cereal myself. Chocolate Chex FTW.

Pah, I didn't do much (And I didn't finish reconstruction yet either and you know that Lowe.). Reconstruction just require persistence, some patience and a bit of imagination. Lowe's part is much harder in my opinion.

*snort* I would. A toast is a toast, and no matter how "cute" it is, it soon will become gross with MOLD. Better eat it before other people will yell at you.

There's something throwing me off...
It's pretty much the whole clump of bangs that's longer than the rest of them...it's making me think it's another pigtail that shouldn't be there.

With so much existing Nanoha fanart out there, one wonders why people think it necessary to shop pictures of other characters into something they were never intended to be.

One word: Because it's fun. :) Besides, we don't "own" the images and claim them to be our own (well, copyright-wise), and we do acknowledge the source image.

As for the source, it's a Takeshi Nakamura image of Octavia from Tears to Tiara as mentioned in the previous page.

It's all light-hearted humor, no need to be hung-up about technicalities. Besides, editting of images one way or the other is quite rampant here (especially in sigs). There's nothing offensive about it, so long as you don't start claiming that the original image was yours (unless of course, it really is yours) :heh:

And Teen Vivio art has a tendency to get buried under the moe-blob Vivio art, so any art of Teen Vivio, be it drawn or shopped, is more then welcome in my book.

I was more talking about editing one character into another. Just changing her eye colour doesn't make her look like Vivio, not in the least. I wouldn't say I'm "hung up" about this, I just don't see what all the excitement is about.

Other than that, I agree that it's not an issue as long as you don't claim the art to be your own.

The robot in the background is Chouryujin from GaoGaiGar, formed from two other robots in the process known as "Symmetrical Docking" - YES, that term came from THEM and how they combined. :uhoh:

The second is Build Tiger from Brave Police J-Decker, and is a gattai robo with far less sexual innuendo than the previous example :p
